Then You Found Me

Annabell shook her head. "Not with the condition you are in now. You should rest and uhh get your strength up. I will help clean the blood off soon as I shower." She said feeling icky covered in blood. Once he let her go she slipped I to her room and locked the door. She went and stripped pff hopping in the shower. The water cascaded down her back as she felt her eyes drooping. She cleaned but soon after she found herself in pajamas and she fell asleep in her bed. She slept for hours.

Alexandre nodded, before lowering himself back down. His eyes slipped back shut as he heard the door shut and lock. He sighed, letting sleepiness cloud his mind. His body instantly began to relax and he slowly fell into a dreamless sleep.

Alexandre wasn't sure exactly how long he had been asleep, but the light from the window had gone from a blinding white to a orangey-pink tone. He tiredly rubbed his eyes and sat up from his spot. He groaned quietly at the pain that spread throughout his abdomen, and dropped back down into his spot.

Annabell opened hee door with a yawn and sighed. She hadn't meant to sleep that long. She came out to see Alexandre lay back down. Ahe bit her lip. "Sorry I was tired." She said and ran a hand through her dark hair. She made her way toward him and blushed. "I should change your gauze." She said and pulled the safty kit to her. She grabbed her cleqning aggent and slowly removed his gauze. She smiled at how well it was doing. It didn't look infected. She cleaned kt carefully and then bandaged him back up. "I will get you some mpre pain killers then make dinner... is there anything you want or anything?" She asked nervously. Annabell knew it wouldn't be great like the old days but she could make it eatable. She hoped he was getting everything he needed. She really wanted him to stick around for some reason. Maybe so she had more to say tthen repeating language tapes and talking to the books.

Alexandre shook his head, "Don't worry about it, I did too and no, anythings fine."
He sighed at the feeling of new gauze on his wound, as the other one was nearly dripping with blood. He ran hand through his hair rather nervously, offering her an awkward smile. He was hoping he wasn't over staying his welcome as he didn't really want to leave. After months and months of not being able to talk to anyone other than yourself got really lonely.

Annabell nodded and went into he kitchen making some food. She let it cook as she got out the cleaning supplies and started to clean the floor and what ever else she saw blood on. She worked diligently avoiding Alexandre's gaze. "After you eat I will clean you up and maybe we can move you into a better sleeping area. I think I have a spare mattress." She said and then went to check on the food. It wasn't long before ahe brought out the food. It didn't look the prettiest but she knew it tasted good. After handing him the bowl she sat down across from him. "So... where are you from originally?" She asked because she had come into the city with her mother after her fathers death in the begining of he end.

Alexandre nearly let out a sigh of relief at her words. He was glad that she was letting him stay, even if it only was for a little while. He nodded quickly, taking the bowl from her hands and examining it. It wasn't the prettiest looking dish he had ever seen, but he was happy that it was atleast something. He glanced up at her again, a small smile coming onto his face. "Well, I was born in Washington State, lived there until I was 4, before my mom moved my brother and I over here. I've been here ever since. I guess I didn't really have the heart to leave, even after everything went to hell."

Annabell nodded and kinda played with her food a while before taking a bite. She felt like she needed to move. Being inside all day had made her restless. Annabell wondered if Alexandre would hang around after he healed. She hoped so. After dinner she cleqned the dishes and turned off the lights lighting some candles. "Sorry I only allow so much time with the light on." She said. Annabell got some warm water and a soft rag. She set it on the floor beside her as she kneeled in front of him. She had a towel close by. Annabell blushed and looked up at him. "Its better if you sit still." She said and took the cloth dipping it in the water and gently caressing the blood off his skin as he candles flickered over their skin. She carefully cleqned around his wound and even his hair. "If you draw me a path on a map I can get so e items from your home while ypu heal here. I really just want to be sure that you live. Infection is one of the most common killers these days." She ramblee on obviously embaressed and trying to find some way to make up for it. 'I wissh that he would just stop my rambling.' aAnnabell thought to herself.

Alexandre winced at the feeling of the rag carefully cleaning his skin. It wasn't because she was being careless, but his skin was just sore. After his wound was cleaned, he started to relax a little more. Then she started to clean up his hair, and he nearly sighed with contentment. It felt nice to have his hair a bit cleaner. "I would, but it's pretty far from here. At least 15 miles from here. Plus, I don't really stay anywhere specific. I move place to place."
He smiled at the way she rambled, "I know. I've seen a couple people pass on from infections."

Annabell smiled softly and dried him off before taking the dirty water to the bathroom. "I'm sorry for your loss." She said gently before she left, though glade that someone was here who understood her pain and her actions. She came back with a pillow and a blanket. "Tomorrow I will go find your bag and maybe I can score a pair of cloths that might fit you while I am out." She said softly and put the pillow behind his head and the blanket over him. "Is there anything else you need tonight?" She asked with a small yawn even though she slept most the day she was tired now again. Maybe it was from taking care of another person or something but she wanted it to be tommorrow already. She would wake with the sun and take care of everything she needed to. Annabell had no doubt that she would find everything she was looking for. "I wont be more hen half a day and I will make lunch when I return. Breakfast will be here for you when you wake." She spoke with a yawn in her voice. Annabell blushed glad to be having company.

Alexandre shook his head, "I'm alright. I'll survive the night."
He listened to her talking about her plans for tomorrow. "Thats nice. Are you sure you wanna go alone? I can go with you if you want..."
He knew he really wasn't in the shape to, but he didn't wanna feel useless. He definitely wasn't used to laying on a couch all day and eating whenever he felt like, at least, not anymore.
Alexandre yawned slightly, wondering why he was tired again. He had just slept atleast 6 hours, but now he felt like he could sleep another 6.

Annabell smiled and nodded at what sounded like a joke. But when he asked to come with her and she shook her head. "No absolutly not. You need to stay here and heal. I can give you a book and I will bring back a can or something, but just be careful going to the bathroom okay? Healing takes a lot of time and energy so you will need lots of sleep." She said and pulled back. "Seriously I can do thks. It is no problem." She said and put a candle beside him. "I will see you in the noon." She said took her lit candles and went into her room. Annabell was amazed how much she wanted him around.

Alexandre sighed deeply, not liking the feeling of not being able to participate. But he understood why he had to stay at the apartment. He had just been attacked by an animal, and he sure that if he even stretched out his torso, that his stitches would come undone, and he would begin to bleed out.
"Okay," He answered softly, "See you at noon."
He laid back down on his back and fell asleep.

In the morning Annabell woke and got ready for her day. Like she said she leaft breakfast on the table next to the sleeping Alexandre. She ate something grabbing her bag and looked at the time then out the window and then she left the apartment locking up behind her. First thing Annabell went to do was find Alexandre's bag. She searched through the streets retracing what path she assumed he would have run. Annabell smiled once she found it. She picked it up and slung it over her shoulder headed into the city more to find some cloths for Alexandre. She hoped that she guessed his size right. She grabbed several pairs of cloths some in different sizes. Annabell also grabbed some things to help take care or him. Before she knew it noon was approaching. Annabell quickly returned to the apartment. She walked in and locked up behind her dropping all the bags on the floor feeling tired.

Alexandre woke up a little bit after Annabell left. He could already feel his energy increasing.
He slowly lifted himself up from the couch, still siting, but shifting so that his legs were on the ground.
He slowly ate his food, not wanting to get sick from the sudden intake of more than he's eaten in weeks.
After he ate, he slowly made himself stand up, wincing at the pain that spread throughout his torso, before he started to walk around.
He was in pain, but it was slowly started to ease the more he walked.
He picked up his plate and took it into the kitchen, placing it into the small sink. He would wash it if he knew how Annabell would react.
After his pit stop in the kitchen he retreated back to the couch and sat down again.

What felt like hours later, Annabell had finally returned. Alexandre's ears perked up at the sound of the door knob before he carefully pushed himself off of the couch and slowly made his way over to the front door.

Annabell looked up and gasped. "Alexandre you shouldn't be up." She said and went to his side and put his arm over her shoulder leading him back to the couch her hand pressed gently to his chest in a apot that she knew was safe to touch. Annabell got him seated and started to gently peel off his bandage. She sighed making sure he hadn't torn out a stitch. "Stay there." She said and went to go gt her medical kit. Annabell sighed again as she came out. "Your lucky that you didn't tear up and bleed out while I was gone." She said and cleaned him up glad to see the stitches where holding well. Annabell replaced his bangages and sat beside him. "What where you thinking?" She asked before shaking her head. "Are you hungry?" Annabell decided that she really shouldn't get so worked up. But when you beleived that he was the last human, it was kind of understandable why you might be protective.
"I found your bag." She said as she handed him the food she had just made. "And I think I got your size right." Annabell smiled softly as she sat down too and started to eat.

Alexandre sighed at her concern. He had dealt with injuries like this before, even worse, if he was being completely honest. He sat down on the couch and let her examine his cut. He knew that he shouldn't be a little irritated, but he hated feeling like he couldn't do anything.
"Not really. I've had a lot more food than I've had in the last couple of weeks. My stomach isn't used to this much food intake." He answered, waiting patiently on the couch.
"Thanks." He smiled, setting the food off to the side. He knew he would eat it later, but right now his stomach was doing flips and turns.
"What size did you get?" He asked, wondering what she thought was his 'right size'.
To be honest, he had no idea anymore. He just got anything he could wear and took it.

Annabell sighed. "Sorry I just need something to do. I know you must feel that way but trust me when you feel better you are more then welcome to help me out. I do have a car that only needs a few things fixed. I have been trying to figure it out by reading the book I found at the library." She talked as she pulled out the cloths she found handing them to him. They where classy but comfortable. Annabell smiled as she started to put things away. She also ended up placing his bag beside him. Annabell had always been crafty and her mother had taught her many things that was keeping her well off.

"It's okay." He says, "And I can definitely help with your car. My dad was a mechanic and taught me everything he knew before he died."
He took pride in knowing a way to help her out, even if it wasn't huge. He was glad that he could help her with something other than just laying around and doing nothing.
"As soon as you think I'm well enough, I'll fix it." He says.

Annabell smiled and nodded. She we t to take care if somethings coming back when she was done. She sat close and picked up her book. "You sound like you where close to your father." She spoke softly looking a little tired. She noticed the cloths she had picked out fit. She was glad she had guessed right. Annabell hugged her knees and her book to her chest. She sat there watching him.
