(I'm just going to keep it in the same paragraph till they split so it's easier for me)

"This is probably the stupidest idea we have ever had." Sophia complained as they pulled in front of the asylum, glancing over at the other three passengers. She had never done well with horror movies or haunted houses before, so she couldn't understand why they had decided to go to this abandoned asylum. Of course, Chris, her boyfriend of five months, had to find this place and offer a roadtrip, which Emmett was more than willing to take. "Ah, lighten up, Soph, we're just going to look around. That's all. Maybe we'll find a ghost or two, but don't worry about it." Emmett responded to her while he stepped outside of the car with a grin on his face. It had been a long time since they had fun together and this seemed to be the best opportunity. Plus, he wanted to see how Peggy would react to it all since he loved scares. With a groan, Sophia got out of the car since she still didn't believe that this was a good idea. "Just really quickly, okay? This place gives me the creeps already." She ran her hands up and down her arms since it was a little chilly, stepping closer to Chris.

"We'll be in and out before you know it," Chris said quietly, putting an arm around Sophia as she stepped closer to him. Chris knew that Sophia probably wouldn't react well through the whole trip, but as soon as he'd suggested it to Emmett there was no going back. The pair of them got together a group of friends and there they were. Chris looked over towards the second car as it pulled up, and the other five people who were coming along climbed out. Peggy was the last to get out of the first car, sighing quietly as she did so. She didn't really scare easily, but she didn't really think this was the definition of a good time. She put her hands into her pockets as she closed the door with her hip. She took a few steps so she was standing next to Emmett, watching as one of the guys from the other car jogged over to the fence that was encircling the asylum. She was really only there because one of the other people told her Emmett really wanted her to go. She was beginning to regret going, however, watching someone climb the fence. Fence climbing was not her forte.

Wrapping an arm around Chris, Sophia was sure that it definitely wouldn't be like that, but it was too late to turn back now. Hopefully, she could just make it out in one piece. She watched as the others started to climb over the fence to get closer to the abandoned building and glanced back up at Chris,"Here goes nothing then.." Moving out of his arms, she started towards the fence and hopped over it with little difficulty. Sophia was one of the star athletes for hurdles during track, so the height of the fence was not problem. Turning back to Peggy, Emmett flashed her a grin, before jerking his head towards the fences. "You need some help?" He questioned since the fence was pretty tall and it wasn't one of the easier ones to scale. She didn't seem to be too thrilled to be here, but he did appreciate the fact that she was taking time out of her day to be with him.

Chris watched as Sophia climbed over the fence, then followed after her once she was safely on the ground. He grabbed her hand and started to walk towards the asylum, actually pretty excited. He didn't believe any of the stories anyone told about the place. It was just an old, abandoned building. It was no different than the run down houses in the downtown of their city. This place only had a rep because it used to be a loony bin. Peggy looked up at Emmett and gave her head a little shake. "No, I'll manage," she replied. She took a deep breath and moved to the fence. With more of a struggle than she hoped it looked like, Peggy got herself up and over the fence. "Okay, on the way back out, we're finding a new way out," Peggy said with a small laugh, looking through the fence at Emmett. "I'm not doing that again."

Stepping closer to the building, she felt this aura, making her take a step closer to Chris. There was something about this place that she couldn't quite put her finger on that made it different than the rest. "Yeah.. I really don't like this.." She gave a light laugh to hide how bothered by it she was. The building was practically ready to fall apart at any moment, which only added to her unease. Emmett nodded before jumping over the fence after Peggy, rejoining her on the other side. Stepping closer, he took her hand into his, interlacing their fingers together. "We'll see if we can find another place later then." He smiled then moved to rejoin the group. The rest of the group moved inside of the building and Sophia heard one of the guys yelling, taunting the dead. "Man, come on. Respect the dead." Emmett responded jokingly with a smile on his face since he didn't expect anything to happen.

"It's just one loop around, then we can leave, okay?" Chris said to Sophia, giving her a reassuring smile. The group headed inside, move people pulling flashlights of out of their pockets and flipping them on. One particularly noisy friend started right up a wide stair case as soon as he was in the building and a few people followed him. "D'you wanna go somewhere else? If him shouting about wanting the ghosts to show themselves freaks you out, I mean." While it didn't scare Chris, he didn't imagine it would do wonders for someone who wasn't a fan of being there.
"Lets go to the basement," Peggy said as she flipped on her flashlight and saw a sign on the wall pointing down the hall that said 'basement'. It was probably going to be the scariest down there, she was willing to bet it was the morgue. If they got the scariest bit out of the way first, she wouldn't have a problem with the rest. "C'mon," she gave Emmett's hand a little tug in that direction, starting to head that way.

Giving a small nod, Sophia thought that one loop was probably the only thing that she could get out of her. "Okay, I think that sounds good." She decided to stick close to him while they lurked through the hallways, looking at all the doors that looked more like cells. "Yeah, I don't really want to go with them. They're asking for a ghost haunting." Moving off towards a different sector of the building, she started to watch the scenery change. It seemed like this was for patients on total lock down. "I'm really sorry about this. I know that you wanted to see this place top to bottom, but it just freaks me out." Glancing over at him, she offered an apologetic smile.

    --

"Basement? Wow, you're really going for the heart of this place." He grinned before following her down the staircase to the basement. Emmett decided that he liked how daring Peggy was. Descending down, luckily, they had the flashlight since it was completely pitch black, so they could barely see two feet in front of their faces. Emmett could hear the dripping of a leaky pipe and shined his flashlight against the walls. "It really smells down here.." He commented, smelling the odor of decay only getting stronger.

"Don't worry about it, babe," Chris replied, giving his head a little shake. He leaned over to her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Sorry for dragging you along." As they walked down the hall, Chris flashed his light into some rooms. His light filled one room lines with beds, that had another door at the other end. He gave Sophia's hand a little tug, moving into the room. He knew she wouldn't like it, but he wanted to at least explore a little bit. He moved his light across the beds as the headed down the room. A lot of them had blood on the half moth eaten blankets and pillows. "Jesus Christ..."
"Holy shit," Peggy said, pulling the collar of her shirt up over her nose with her free hand. Emmett wasn't wrong. It really smelled weird in the basement. Once they were all the way down the stairs, Peggy squinted to look around the room. She couldn't see anything, but she could hear a scratching noise coming from across the room. "Shine your light over there, Emmett," she said quietly, giving his hand a little jerk in the direction she meant. She knew it was going to be a squirrel or a raccoon, but that didn't stop her from holding onto Emmett's hand a little tighter.

Sophia appreciated the fact that Chris was so supportive of her. It was probably one of the qualities she deemed the best. She continued to follow him throughout the hallways, deciding that this wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be. The worst that they had seen so far was a rat scurrying across the hallway, which didn't bother her too much. Moving into one of the rooms, Sophia looked as he flashed the light across some of the bed and immediately recoiled. "Oh my god. This is disgusting." She felt sick to her stomach and decided that she was done with this. "C-Chris, let's go? Have you had enough yet?" Suddenly, she felt a sudden rush of air go through the room and the door slammed behind them.

    --

Emmett coughed as if it would ward off the smell of the odor and moved the light over the wall. "Y-Yeah." Moving the light towards the scratching noise, he braced himself for whatever was going to be on the other side of the light. He squeezed her hand right back just in time to see a raccoon hiss at them before running off in the other direction. It was just enough to make him jump. What he was eating was even more terrifying though. It was a dead corpse that was completely mutilated. "What the fuck happened down here?" Emmett took a step back in horror even though the body seemed to be dead for a long time.

Chris spun around quickly when he heard the door slam, shining his light in that direction. His heart was beating extremely fast, he could hear it pounding in his ears. He took a few long breaths, trying not to freak out. "Real funny, guys," Chris said loudly in what he hoped was a steady voice, though he could feel himself shaking. "Hilarious, truly." He handed Sophia the flashlight and let go of her hand, jogging back to the door. He gave the doorknob a twist, but when he tried to pull the door open, it wouldn't move. "Guys let go, c'mon," Chris said, pulling on the door again. He couldn't hear anyone on the other side, but it still wasn't moving. "Fine, we'll go out the other door, assholes," Chris said, more for Sophia than for his friends, if they were on the other side. He didn't want her to freak out. He headed back to her with a reassuring smile, though he knew it probably looked forced, and put an arm around her, continuing towards the other door.
Peggy turned her face towards Emmett's shoulder and closed her eyes when the light revealed a dead body on the ground. If the fence made her regret coming, this really made her regret coming. "Okay, I think it's time to leave the basement," Peggy said opening her eyes. When she opened her eyes, however, instead of seeing complete darkness, she could see two eyes at her eye level across the room, reflecting in the light of the flashlight. She didn't move, just staring back, for a few seconds, but then the eyes shut and the eyes were gone. "Emmett, someones down here," Peggy whispered, swallowing hard.

Sophia jumped at the slamming of the door, frowning at the other side of whoever did this to them. It wasn't funny at all, especially since the group knew how nervous she was. Taking the flashlight into her hands, she started to glance around behind her as if there were another presence in the room. This was starting to making her feel even more uneasy about this place. She swallowed when he grasped a hold onto the door but when he gave it a jerk nothing happened. It was like it was suddenly locked. "Yeah, let's just leave from the other door." She agreed and pivoted on her foot to turn. Moving closer into his arms, Sophia wrapped an arm around him just to reassure that he was with her. By now, she could tell that Chris was starting to become uneasy from the strained smile he gave her. There was no way that he was fooling her. "Is there even another place to leave?" She asked with worried eyes.

    --

Emmett bit his lip with a frown since that was just completely messed up. Some killer must have dumped the body over here as some sort of sick joke or to cover up his/her tracks. He would just have to call the authorities when they got back near a tower even if they would be fined for it. "I think you're right." He agreed and went to turn when she whispered that someone else was here. That was a completely ridiculous statement since there was no way that anyone else was down here, unless it was another person from the group. "Okay, guys. Which one of you placed the body over here?" He questioned loudly, challenging the person to step out from the darkness. "It was funny but the joke is over. You got your little laugh."

"Yeah, there's a door at the other end," Chris said, nodding. Walking faster than required, the pair reached the other end of the room quickly. Chris reached out and grabbed the doorknob quickly, and thankfully this one opened. "See, nothing to worry about," Chris said, feeling a lot better since this door was opening. He moved with Sophia into the next hall, shining his light around. It looked just like the one before. He started down the hall at a normal pace, keeping his gaze forward instead of back into the room. He didn't know what went on in there, but he wasn't going to hang around for it to happen again. Only a few steps forward, though, and there was another gust of wind and the door they had just walked through slammed shut.
"Emmett lets just go," Peggy said, giving Emmett's hand a tug as she stepped backwards. She slowly inched back towards the stairs, her foot hitting the bottom step. She lifted her foot and stepped up onto the first one, giving his hand another pull. Across the room, near where the body was, there was a quiet laugh that echoed around the room. Peggy swallowed hard, stepping up again. "Okay, whichever one of you it is, stop. Seriously," Peggy said in a very shaky voice. If there hadn't been a dead body, she wouldn't be this freaked out. The body was something else completely.

Sophia had no problem keeping up with Chris' hurried pace; she really couldn't wait to get out of this place. When the door opened, she let out a breath that she had no idea she had been holding in. Thank god that door had opened. "Y-Yeah, let's just get out of here and then never come back." She said, continuously looking around as if something would jump out after her. Something that struck her was the fact that she couldn't hear the rest of the group anymore. Even though they were in a different part of the building, the group was loud enough so that their voices would echo off the walls. Now, there was just silence though. Stepping through the door, Sophia yelped when it slammed closed behind them. "This isn't funny anymore! I am going to kill whoever keeps doing this!" She spun to look behind her, waiting for someone to show up.

    --

Emmett stood his ground since this wasn't something that they could just leave. Obviously, someone was playing a prank on them that went too far. One swift punch to the jaw would make him feel better and teach the person a lesson. Turning his head, he heard the sound of soft laughter coming from the darkness. "Seriously, the joke is up." He informed whoever was lurking in the shadows. There would be no way that the person was going to laugh again for scaring the both of them. Taking the flashlight, he shined it in the direction of the laughter. "Show yourself. Now!" He yelled, starting to get impatient.

"C'mon," Chris said, letting go of Sophia to grab her hand instead, pulling her quickly down the hall. He wasn't about to stick around. He couldn't hear the group anymore either, and there was a definite feeling of something being completely wrong here. He tugged her down the hall and around the corner, every so often a door they walked by slamming. "Where the fuck is an exit," Chris said loudly. Every doorway he shined his light on was to a room, nothing was to the outside. "There's gotta be one somewhere, Jesus Christ."
Peggy's eyes widened slowly as one of their friends, Jack, stepped out of the shadows and into the light. "You're going to fucking die, asshole," Peggy said angrily, glaring at her friend. Jack didn't reply, but he took a slow step towards Emmett and Peggy. When he was in better view, it was plain to see that Jack had blood on his mouth, and what looked like intestines in his hands. "Jack, what the fuck...." Peggy said quietly, taking another step up the stairs. "This isn't funny."

Sophia kept her eyes on the door when he grabbed her hand. She was sure that her palms were clammy against his own, but there was no point in hiding it. At this point, her heart was racing at the idea of something haunting them. It seemed Iike they were just going around in circles after a while. Every corridor, every corner looked the same. "Chris, I feel like we are going around in circles." She was starting to have a hard time breathing, like she was suffocating.

    --

Emmett angrily sighed when his friend stepped out from the shadows of the basement. "What the fuck, man? That shit isn't funny at all." He scolded him but frowned when heard nothing in return. Shining the light downward, he saw Jack's intestines practically spilling out his stomach, causing Emmett's gag reflect to start. "Holy fuck. This is some sick shit. Peggy, we gotta get out of here. Fuck this." His announced, tugging her hand up the staircase. If his friend was playing a prank, he could do it by himself.

"We're not, don't worry," Chris said, shaking his head. He wasn't so sure, though. It seemed like she was right. To change up the pace and try something different, Chris turned into one of the rooms instead of walking by it. He walked over to a window and let go of Sophia's hand, trying to open it up. When it didn't work, he moved to the other window, which shook slightly but didn't open when he pushed on it. "They're pretty stuck... Lets try the next room. One's gotta open." He was starting to get really freaked out, and he was kind of starting to believe the stories.
"Can we just leave?" Peggy asked loudly as she jogged up the stair case. She could feel her heart pounding in her throat as she heard footsteps following theirs. "Jack I swear to fucking god cut the shit out!" She shouted as they got to the top of the stairs, turning around to look at him. He wasn't there, though. Instead, there was a young looking girl with a terrifying smile on her face. Peggy let out a loud scream, moving backwards and bumping into the wall behind her.

At this rate, Sophia wanted to just throw herself out of the window since it was better than just going around in this eternal circle. She silently followed him inside one of the rooms, wrapping her arms around herself. It felt like the temperature is starting to drop as well. "Y-Yeah. There has to be some way to get outside." With this new found determination, she went inside of the next few rooms, tugging at the windows. To no avail, none of them were opening. "Chris, maybe they bolted them down. They wouldn't let mental people open windows." She explained with a sigh and shivered under the temperature drop.

    --

Following up the stairs after her, Emmett couldn't wait to get out of that basement. He would never be speaking to these people again. They all thought that this was sort of joke where they could get away with scaring the living shit out of them. "Fuck, fuck, fuck. Peggy, open the god damn door!" Emmett shouted while moving around her to start ramming himself into it. Looking over his shoulder, he heard Peggy scream while a young girl just simply smirked at their despair.

Chris looked around, feeling the temperature in the room they were in drop as well. He could see his breath now in the light that his flashlight was giving off. He looked around the room more, trying to find something to throw at the window. He found an old chair, picking it up. "Watch out," Chris instructed, picking up the chair and throwing it as hard as he could at the window. It cracked it, but it didn't break it all the way. As Chris went to pick up the chair to try again, there was a scratching noise, like finger nails being dragged along the wall coming towards them down a hall. Chris' heart was racing as he threw the chair at the window again, but just like last time, it cracked the glass but it wouldn't break. "That's not going to work," a low voice came from just outside the doorway. It didn't sound like one of their friends, even if they put on a voice. No, this was someone completely strange to them.
"Don't you come near me, kid," Peggy said, trying to control her breathing even though it was rapidly picking up pace. "Emmett open the door." The little girl slowly started to climb the stairs, getting closer and closer to Peggy and Emmett. The closer the little girl got, the more Peggy realized she wasn't a normal girl. Her hair was falling out and her face looked like it was rotting. As she stepped closer, Peggy realized she wasn't completely there, either. The girl was semi transparent. "Emmett come on!" Peggy shouted as the girl took another step, only four or five stairs below where Peggy was.

Sophia looked around the room in a panic, trying to see if there was something they could use. At this point, she could see her breath dissipating into a small cloud right in front of her. She quickly moved out of the way as he hurled the chair towards the window. "Find another one!" Sophia called out while scrambling to find something else that they could use. They were so close to being able to feel the sunshine on their skin. She felt some relief when Chris found another chair in the corner. They would be out soon. That all changed when she heard the sound of nails against a chalkboard, shuddering. Covering her ears, she could have screamed bloody murder and rushed over towards him, wrapping her arms around him in a panic. "D-Did you hear that? Please, tell me that you didn't hear that." Sophia turned to face him, completely scared shitless. The voice only chuckled at her weak attempt to pretend like he wasn't there since he wasn't planning on letting them leave. "You're staying with me. Forever." The voice whispered once more, echoing throughout the room.

    --

"I'm trying, Peggy! This fucking door won't open!" Emmett could feel the bruises starting to form from ramming himself so many times into the door. For now, he decided to switch shoulders and used the other side to continue his attempts to open it. He could hear the panic in Peggy's voice and grit his teeth. "I-I'm almost there! Don't worry!" He tried to reassure her but the door didn't budge at all. The girl continued on her trek towards her, continuing up every single step. She would be a fine specimen for her to take over. Young and pretty, unlike her rotting, old self. Her boyfriend wasn't too bad either, except for the foul mouth that he had. "Don't worry. I'll take good care of you." The girl announced with a horrid smile while advancing even closer.
