Have Faith in Me.

Matt stood up and looked at the broken toaster and that's when he fully realized it. His neighbor was a vampire, and a fan of his music. Probably not anymore. How was she able to go in the sunlight? He bit his lip as he tried to think about how he could get her off his back. He didn't even know what she wanted with him in the first place.

When Ariel found everything she needed a grin formed on her lips. Now she had the mongrel exactly where she wanted him. She grabbed the potion and the powder she needed, walking back into Matt's house with no problem. She blew the powder meant to knock him out in his face before she put him in a choke hold and forced what was left of the potion down his throat. "Now that you're temporarily crippled I'm going to take you far away from Huntington as I can. How does somewhere up north sound for the night?" When Ariel heard Matt growl she scoffed. "I hate you and your kind more than you can possibly imagine but you're stupid mongrel ass isn't killing anyone tonight because you're too ignorant to listen." The strawberry blonde tossed Matt over her shoulder with ease, grabbing the wolfs car keys and plopped him into the passenger seat. After she buckled him and herself up she began to drive off, thankfully by that time Matt had passed out and that's what she needed because she didn't need him questioning her motives. He didn't need to know she had a weak spot for humans.

Matt groaned as he began to stir, reaching up and rubbing his eyes. He frowned and looked around, wondering where the hell he was. He looked out of the window, seeing the girl building some sort of cage like thing and he growled quietly. He got out of the car and walked up to her, punching into her chest and grabbing her heart, squeezing it as he narrowed his eyes at her. "One move and you're dead," he snarled.

Ariel hissed at Matt, quickly swiping his feet out from under him and grabbed her heart back. She put it back in her chest and chained Matt up to the wall. "Try that again and I'll just kill you next time," she snapped. "I can only be so nice before I decide to just murder you." She went back to welding the cage together, finding herself humming Anya's favorite song from Matt's band, A Little Piece of Heaven. She was an eight year old that lived on the block that Ariel had opened up to and cared for. The little brunette was the only human who knew what she actually was and in return for keeping that promise the strawberry blonde vowed to keep her safe even at the cost of her own life. "For the record," she spoke up. "I'm doing this to protect someone I care about tonight. Not gonna lie though caging you like the animal you are to keep the kid safe is kind of an added bonus."

Matt tugged at the chains with all the anger he had in himself right now, ripping them from the wall and slinging one around her neck, pulling it until it was strangling her, slowly bringing her to her knees. "You touch me again and I will bite the shit out of you, vampire," he snarled, strangling her until she passed out before tossing her body into the cage and locking her in there. It wasn't complete but it would hold her off for the night. He got in her car and drove back home. Nobody barged in on his life like that and got away with it.

When Ariel came to the sun was setting off in the distance. She began banging on the cage as a high pitched scream escaped from her throat, screaming out Anya's name. The strawberry blonde's eyes began to leak tears of blood as she began trying to escape the cage. She needed to get home. She needed to keep Anya safe from Matt because if he killed her she would torture him for the rest of life and his. After almost two hours of hitting the cages week spot she was free and she used her inhuman speed to race back home. She needed to keep Anya safe, the little girl was her only anchor she had to keep her vampire side from taking over completely.

Matt locked all his doors and went to the basement, locking the door as well and covering it with wooden boards and heavy furniture before he began to chain himself down, his heart pounding in his chest. This was the worst part, the waiting. Knowing that he was going to be in the worst pain of his life in no time, the waiting part was terrible.

Ariel saw the moon rise in the distance, beginning to panic more. The feeling that Anya was in danger kept growing but she was only halfway back to Huntington Beach. She tried to push herself to go faster but she knew she was going as fast as she could.

Anya was singing Afterlife as she walked down the neighborhood. It was something she liked to do at night especially when her mom and dad began to fight. They never noticed when the eight year old left either so she knew they didn't really care like Ariel did.

Matt could feel the pull of the full moon already, and he knew it wouldn't be long until his transformation began. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, sitting down on the floor and trying to stay calm. He couldn't let this vampire chick get into his head.

Ariel began to feel her undead heart beat at a hurried pace as she continued to run. She was so close to home now and even she could feel how strong the moon's power was tonight even if didn't have an effect on her. She kept running until she felt her body giving up on her. She knew she'd have to feed to be able to survive against Matt. She walked into an alley, waiting until some idiot tried to manhandle her and drained him dry with no remorse. The strawberry blonde let his body fall with a harsh thud on the ground, taking his car and drove it until she was close to home. She made sure it was a safe distance away from the neighborhood and ran the rest of the way. When she didn't see Anya outside, she quickly hurried inside her house to drink two of the blood bags she had so she'd be prepared.

Anya walked down the block towards Anya's house, stopping in front of the house two doors down from the vampires. She heard a howl like she usually did on full moons but this one sounded different, angrier and even more scary than usual. The eight year old, quickly started back towards home, hoping her slide on vans could carry her to safety fast enough.

Matt let out cries of pain as his bones began to break in every part of his body, tears falling from his eyes as he fell to his knees, gripping onto the chains and growling deeply. The pain was completely unbearable, just as it was every time. But for some reason, it just felt worse this time. He cried out and fell flat on his stomach as his legs began to break, transforming slowly into a wolf. Almost every single bone in his body had broken before he had finally fully transformed, and he growled, tugging at the chains as he pulled himself up.

Ariel decided to quickly change into something more sleek and battle ready, pulling on jeans and a simple v-neck with some flat knee high boots she had. She grabbed all the potions she had to help weaken werewolves and rushed outside when she heard Matt's howl. She needed to keep Anya safe because if she knew anything about the girl's parents they were probably arguing yet again and that meant the girl was walking to her place.

Anya heard the howling stop and decided to try to run to Ariel's. She just wanted her protector and friend more than anything at that moment.

Matt growled and started to tug at the chains, managing to get one off the wall before he turned and started biting at the chains on his ankles, knowing it was probably no use, but it was worth a try.

Ariel spotted Anya at the end of the block running in her direction. She moved to run towards Anya when Matt burst through his front door. Her hazel green eyes widened as she watched Matt run in the direction of the eight year old. She hissed, baring her fangs and slashed at Matt's back. When he turned around to grab her she used her inhuman speed to move in front of him. "I told you this would happen," she shouted. "But all you fucking mutts think you're invincible." When Matt tried to side step her she swiped at him again. "You're not hurting Anya you filthy flea infested mongrel!"

Matt growled viciously at Ariel and lunged forward, tackling her to the ground and biting her forearm, attempting to rip it off when he felt a rock hit the back of his head. He whirled and looked at the little girl, who had thrown a rock at him to get him off of Ariel. "Leave her alone!" she cried.

Ariel's eyes widened when she realized what Anya had done. She grabbed the silver knife from her boot and used it to stab Matt's front leg. She slid out from under him and blew some of her immobilizing powder in his face. She waited until he fell onto the concrete and looked at Anya. "Go home now," she ordered. "I can't protect you and fight him." The brunette opened her mouth to argue when Ariel hissed at her. "Go now," she ordered. The strawberry blonde waited until Anya was safely home before she dragged Matt's over sized wolf body into her house and down to her basement. "If Anya didn't like your band so much I'd just rip your throat out right now," she hissed. She grabbed some chains she had and chained him to her wall, hoping it would hold him long enough for her to find something to help contain him for the rest of the full moon.

Matt growled weakly, narrowing his eyes at her. He laid there pitifully, silent for a minute before he started to whine.

Ariel stood in front of Matt and ripped the silver dagger out of his shoulder. She shoved it back in its holder and sat down in a chair in front of where he was chained but at a safe distance. The strawberry blonde looked at her arm and let out a humorless laugh. "I guess that witch was right after all I'm gonna die protecting Anya," she mumbled. She grabbed a water bottle and washed off the wound, sighing as she looked over at Matt. "I know your human side can understand me so listen very fucking well," she ordered. "That little girl is the only human I've ever cared about. You will take care of her and keep her safe or so help me no even death will stop me from getting even with you mutt." Ariel stood up, tossing the chair across the room and watched it shatter. "Don't even think of trying anything stupid either because I have nothing left to lose at this point but you have at least four people I can think of that rely on you."

Matt ignored her and just laid there, thinking he had much better things to be doing right now than sitting here with some worthless vampire that was a complete and total waste of space. One fan off the earth wouldn't make much difference to his career.

"You do know I didn't ask to be what I am," Ariel spoke up. "To be taken from everything I knew and loved to be forced to never age while everyone else around me does." She kneeled in front of him, running her hands through his fur. "I'll never know what sushi tastes like or how the sun feels against my skin." She stood up and moved towards the basement stairs. "Anya keeps me anchored to what little shred of humanity I have left. If you ever hurt her I will not hesitate to rip you to shreds." She walked up the stairs, slamming the door behind her before she slumped down to the ground in front of it, shocked when she saw Anya standing in front of her.

"Ariel are you okay," Anya asked. Ariel opened her arms and let Anya run into them. "I'm fine Anya. Matt and me are both okay?" The small brunette looked at the strawberry blonde with wide eyes. "Is Matt's last name Sanders?" Ariel chuckled and nodded. "M Shadows is a werewolf! Can I see meet him? Please please please mermaid," Anya pleaded.
