I looked at him and nodded as he told me about his dad, "My mother was killed because my father made a bad deal, I was 5 when she was shot in the head while we were driving down the interstate, I barely survived that accident, uhm, my father died in a house fire when I was 15," I said looking at him, "the reports say I was at a friends house, but my 'uncle' the VP had actually uhm broke the back window out of the house and got me out, because I wasn't supposed to be home and they messed up..." I looked at him, "The MC murdered him, I met Marcus when I first moved to Oakland, and he introduced me to Emilio," I shook my head, "He was nice at first said he never had a white mama, before so I stayed he got drunk and beat the shit out of me I stayed, then one night he just got." I paused looking at him.
"Really angry because I said, I was pregnant." I said looking at Jax seriously, "He threw me down a flight of stairs and when I landed in a crumpled heap," I shook my head again and swallowed the lump in my throat, "He kept going until I woke up in the hospital, I told the cops the truth and after I was all healed up enough to leave I left and I came here I've been looking for a Job ever since." I said looking at my lap, "I wont go through that again so if you even raise a hand at me Jax, I will shoot you."

While Kayla had showered I took the opportunity to change into sweats and a normal shirt my cut hanging on the rack, "Hey.." I said looking at her I smiled a little, "So, the guest room has a crappy bed you can take mine," I said and pointed to the door to my room, "I'll sleep in the guest room for the evening," I added and smiled at her I pecked her cheek, "Get some sleep officer I've already done a surroundings check you're all clear and safe for the night." I looked at her, "Get some sleep beautiful."
