"Me too," Matt said. "And rock, and all those kinds of things." He shrugged and looked at her. She was really his type of girl. He casually reached over and grabbed her hand, running his fingers over her knuckles as he stared at their hands.
Essence saw his hand on hers and smiled up at him. "Metallica?" Essence asked him lacing their fingers slightly together. "Do you like them?" She asked him softly.
Matt smiled at her. "I'll be right back," he said, getting up and going to his room. He grabbed his sketchpad and his crayons, walking back out to the recreation area, sitting down next to her. He felt like drawing all of a sudden.
Essence smiled watching him closely as he began to draw. She smiled admiring him as he took and drew. "You seem like a really good artist." She glanced at the sketch pad smiling at him. Even though he said he wasn't, to her he was.
Essence watched Matt and took and smiled. She saw some men staring at her and glanced back down. She grabbed another magazine and began to browse through it. She had no idea why she felt such a strong connection to Matt. But she did and she was glad that she was getting to be with him.
Matt gripped one of the crayons tightly in his hand as he began to hear the voices again. He squeezed his eyes shut and chewed on his lip, breathing heavily. "Stop it," he hissed.
Essence noticed the way he was as she frowned biting her lip. She had no idea what was going on, and wanted to help him. But had no idea how to help him.
Matt huffed and threw his notebook down on the ground with his crayons, getting up and walking away, as if he was leaving the voices behind, although he knew they were going to follow him no matter what.
Essence frowned as she got up and followed behind him. "Matt." She said in a low whisper as she grabbed his arm lightly. "are you ok?" She asked biting her lip worried.
When the voices came around, Matt couldn't be bothered. He would do bad things, and he didn't want to hurt her. He walked into his room and sat on his bed, holding his head in his hands and tugging on his hair as he groaned in pain from the migraine he was getting.
Essence sat in her room remaining to herself and staying quiet. She took and grabbed the paper and markers she had. She began writing a little sometimes between writing and drawing they helped her. She took and sighed a little to herself as she bit her lip.
