The man chuckled at her words then moved to give her a swift bow. "Well what shall we do while we wait for the horses to rest up?" Alexander asked giving her a grin knowing that the horses would need to rest for about an hour and she had refused to sit. So he waited for her to answer as his grin played along his lips.

Gwen Carrigan
The small woman wrapped her arms around her stomach tears stinging her eyes. "You are too kind Sir Nathaniel." Gwen said giving him a curtsy as she watched him leave her room. The young woman moved back over to her vanity tears streaming down her face as she once again began to brush her hair. Realizing that what Nathaniel has said was true.

"You mean the big, strong knight doesn't already have a plan in place to keep me entertained? Hm." It then occurred to her that she'd more or less told him she'd stand for nearly an hour, and she shifted her weight, wishing she'd asked for his shirt instead.

The man slipped out of her room as quietly as he'd gone in and went on his way without looking back to assess the damage he didn't even know he'd dealt. If there was any way his father would have it, he'd break off the engagement to his wily wife and take the other girl instead, but their family so needed a tie to Pyre's.

"Well Lady Vivian I had plan but you seemed to of turned it down." he said with a chuckle "That is why I asked what you though you would like to do." the man said with a grin.

After a while of crying the young woman tried to fix up her face before heading down to the kitchen. Gwen nodded to the people she passed by as she made her way to the kitchen. "Daren?" the woman called out for the cook. "Yes?" he called back before appearing in front of her. "May I have some slices of cheese and apples along with some wine. And if you would be so kind as to put them in a basket. I feel like eating in the court yard by the pond." she said with a small smile hoping the man didn't notice how puffy and red her eyes were.
After waiting a few minutes Daren handed her the basket. "Thank you." Gwen said as she headed to the court yard.

"Well... I've changed my mind, I think." She said, cheeks turning pink with slight embarrassment. "Sorry about that. I forgot about the wait." If it had been just a few minutes, she'd have been fine.

Nathaniel Wichter
The man gratefully accepted a drink on his way through the dining area, and settled down near a window to drink it, his eyes flickering across the landscape and settling on a few figures, one of which he recognized as the lady whose room he'd just left.

Alexander nodded as he removed his shirt and placed it on the ground near the stream. "There you go." the man said as he reached out his hand to help her sit before sitting across from her.

Gwen sat near the pond not bothering to get a blanket to sit on, not having very much money gave her an advantage on being able to clean out pretty much anything in her dresses. Taking a bite of one of the slices of apple she flung a piece of cheese into the water and watched as the fish gobbled it up. The young woman giggles happily as she watched the fish. Smiling softly she began to name the fish as she became friends with them as she tried to forget about what had happened earlier.

She gratefully took his hand and sat on his shirt, tucking her legs to the side beneath her dress, which was clean because of the man's chivalry. "Thank you. But what will everyone think when you come back in a muddy shirt?" The eighteen year old raised her eyebrows.

It had been at least an hour since Vivian had left him, and he was beginning to wonder where she'd run off to and with whom. But it was too early for him to start looking for her yet. He simply sat there and watched the Carrigan woman eat near the pond, trying to figure out some way he could have his cake and eat it, too.

The man chuckled which he noticed he seemed to do a lot of when he was with Vivian. "You may tell them that I simply fell off my horse, I will gladly take a hit on my pride rather than have them question your virtue." he said simply

As Gwen was trying to get a better look at the small fish she slipped on the wet grass and fell into the water. Swimming to the surface with ease she couldn't help but laugh at the situation she was now in. Gwen figured no one had seen her fall into the pond for no one had come to her aid, which was probably true for no one ever noticed her. With a sigh she decided she didn't care anymore and began to swim in the cool water.

"Thank you. You're awfully kind." Wichter probably wished she'd give people reason to question her virtue, because then she'd have no choice but to rush into a marriage with him to quell the rumors.

The girl seemed to fall into the pond, whether on purpose or accident he couldn't tell, but instead of freaking out and climbing out like any reasonable girl, she swam around, ruining her dress, hair, and more or less anything else she might've had going for her right then. He let out a sigh, tipping his drink back.

Alexander shrugged. "I'd rather lie about something that is funny than have people think things that could ruin a person'a life." The knight said as he picked at the grass aimlessly before giving Vivian a soft smile. "You don't think Sir Nathaniel would do the same?"

To save a bit of her dignity Gwen swam around to the side of the castle and went in the side door as she made her way to her chambers to change out of her wet clothing.

"You're kind. He, on the other hand, is not. He only wants to marry me because of my family name. Our fathers have already areanged it. And he watches my every move, so if someone were to question me, it'd be an even better reason for him to keep me under his thumb." The knight probably wouldn't believe thsat Wichter was incredibly self-centered, but she felt the need to tell someone anyway.

She disappeared shortly after, and he guessed she'd run off to her chambers to change into a dry dress. Part of him wanted to go and see her again, but he knew better. The more he visited her, the more people would wonder, and the more he'd be tempted to just take her as a mistress.

Alexander nodded a frown on his face knowing all to well how cruel Sir Nathaniel could be. "I'm sorry you've been put in this situation. Maybe he will change in time." The young warrior said knowing all to well that Sir Nathaniel would never change his ways.

Gwen hummed softly as she changed into a blue dress before beginning to clean out the stains from the green dress she had on previously. She continued to hum as she rubbed different oils and soap into the stains and began scrubbing them out. As she tried to think of what her life would have been if she had more money and was able to choose who she wanted to be with.

She smiled at his optimism, even though he himself probably knew that there was no changing Nathaniel Wichter. The apple didn't fall far from the tree; his entire family was like that.

"Where's your wife?"

"Close, but not quite. And I don't know where she's run off to. It's worrying, to say the least." The man in front of him was a friendly acquaintance, one he didn't mind conversing with.

When it grew silent between the two Alexander stood. "I believe the horses have rested long enough, if you are ready to leave that is." The knight said as he looked down at the woman.

Gwen had finished cleaning her dress and hung it over a chair. Going over to her vanity she began to fix her hair that was now dry. Gwen hoped that Vivian was having a fun ride with Sir Alexander. Sighing to herself she began putting little braids in her long hair that reached her waist.
After she was finished she decided to leave her bedchamber figuring she had been there long enough.

"I am." She rose rather gracefully and stepped back to allow the man to dip down and pick up his shirt, already headed to grab her horse's reins.

The man eventually finished his drink and discarded the glass to be cleaned, heading back down the hallway rather aimlessly. He hadn't any business to take care of.

With a nod Alexander bent down and grabbed his shirt pulling it back over his head. Walking over to Lady Vivian he lifted her up by the waist and placed her on the horse before moving to to mount his own. "Ready?"

Gwen walked slowly down the hallway not really paying attention to where she was going when she ran into something hard making her step back after she made contact with it.

"I am." She thanked him with a grin, squeezing her heels into the horse's side to urge it forward. "Tell me more about yourself."

The man stopped and watched the girl come closer, expecting her to realize he was there and move around him. When she plowed rather clumsily into him, Wichter watched her step back with an easy smile. "Funny I should run into you. Or you me,"

Tapping his horse with his heels they headed for the small field. "There's really not much to tell, I was born into a noble family and became a knight." Alexander said simply as they rode.

Gwen Carrigan
"I'm so sorry Sir Nathaniel. I was not paying attention to where I was going. It's completely my fault." Gwen replied as she looked up him with a small frown. Gwen couldn't believe she walked straight into Nathaniel after what happened earlier being around him made her feel like nothing she had ever felt before.

"I don't want to know how you got here. I want to know about you. As a person, not your family." She knew too much abot Nathaniel Wichter, and she'd never felt compelled to ask.

"No, no, it is my own. I saw you coming and should have moved." He stepped to the side to let her pass if she wished, a mischevious glint in his eyes. "Where are you off to? How was your swim?"

Alexander thought for a moment. "I collect different daggers." he said with a shrug. "Other than that I guess I'm a pretty boring guy." he said with a small chuckle.

Her eyes grew wide realizing that he had seen her in the pond. "It was quite refreshing."she said blushing a deep red. "I'm really not sure, I figured I had spent enough time in my chambers today." Gwen said with a shrug her face still a light red from blushing.

"You're far from boring, believe me." She rode a bit closer to him, showing a bit more interest than before now that she'd warmed up to him more. Her interest stemmed from loneliness and wanting to be free of Wichter, but it was interest just the same.

"Aye, it looked refreshing. Go for a walk with me?" He offered her his arm, figuring she could use the excuse that he was escorting her if anyone dared to ask.
