Eyes So Blinded

Rei glared at the toad like being. "I don't take orders from you, you disgusting tadpole." She snapped at the small thing. Her glare darkening, she didn't think she'd like this at all. She hoped he'd at least travel with better companions.

Inuyasha scoffed before shaking his head. "I live here." He informed her, "of course it's that dangerous." He rolled his eyes. For some reason he couldn't just turn and walk away from her. He felt that he couldn't leave her to fend for herself.

Sesshomaru was, admittedly, both surprised and amused with hearing the human speak back to Jaken. Of course, he didn't show any of that and instead turned his attention to the two. "You watch your mouth, human!" Jaken quickly shouted, waving his staff around as if it would frighten her.

Miyako sighed in response, though it didn't make much sense to her. It didn't seem dangerous, yet he seemed to believe it was. Maybe he was just trying to frighten her, though. "So, are you going to tell me why you have dog ears or what?" she drawled.

Rei glared at the toad, before her hand searched the ground she was sitting on. Grasping a small rock she quickly launched it at the toad. Watching as it smacked him right in the head. She wanted to beam brightly, but for some reason she felt she needed to hold on to her hard demeanor.

Inuyasha looked over at her, "you don't believe me when I say it's dangerous, so I know you won't believe me when I tell you why I have dog ears." He informed her, picking up on her reluctance.

Sesshomaru watched silently, rather surprised that this girl reacted the same way that he himself usually did. It was a bit impressive, though he refused to let it show. Jaken, on the other hand, was out cold, a bump forming on his head.

"I don't believe you when you say it's dangerous because you won't tell me why it's dangerous," Miyako pointed out with a slight roll of her eyes. She was careful to avoid tripping as she walked through the forest, glancing over at him.

Rei glanced briefly over at Sesshomaru, her glance turned up nothing. He was still sitting there as if she didn't exists. Sighing she figured it'd be best if she keep him at arms length. Turning her gaze back to the flickering flames.

Inuyasha just rolled his eyes. "I can't explain all the dangers to you, you'd never believe me." He informed her. "And besides I'd never forgive my self for if something happened to you."

Sesshomaru easily noticed Rei glance at him, but he only glanced over when her attention went elsewhere. She was attractive, for a human, the light from the flames illuminating her features more easily. Ignoring the thought, a bit frustrated with himself for even thinking it, he closed his eyes and tried to banish the thought entirely.

"How do you know that I would never believe you if you don't tell me?" Miyako asked bluntly, rolling her eyes in return. She blinked, though, with his later words and looked at him. "That's odd to hear." It was a first ever hearing something like that for her, so it was difficult for her to fully understand.

Rei sighed out, figuring that she'd be expected to sleep on the ground. So shifting she laid back, closing her eyes. If he wasn't going to start demanding her to do things then she'd might as well get some sleep.

Inuyasha sighed, "I have dog ears because I'm a part demon." He finally told her, turning his attention to her. She wasn't going to give up on pestering him about why things were so dangerous.

Sesshomaru glanced over at the girl for a long moment. "You should sleep next to Ah-Un," he told her simply, "I assume it would be more comfortable than sleeping on the ground." He didn't even know why he was bothering to be... generous to a human.

Miyako paused in her footsteps and looked over at him, eyeing him carefully. "Part... demon? Then why aren't you trying to kill everybody in your sight?" she asked, having read several legends and myths. It wasn't hard to accept, she figured.

Rei didn't bother to argue, though she didn't know about cuddling up next to the beast. She didn't even know what it was. Standing she moved over to the beast, kicking the toad out of her way. She then cuddled up next to the beast, feeling the warmth consuming her cold wet body.

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "Not all demons are like that." He sighed. "Some demons try to possess power, other just live." He informed her.

Sesshomaru watched the girl for a long moment before turning his attention towards the sky. "Ah-Un likes humans," he told her, not sure why he wanted to fill the silence, but he ignored it. Besides, it was true; Ah-Un had been fond of Rin, after all.

Miyako nodded slightly, tapping her chin for a moment. "So, what are you? Dog demon and human? Or are you cat demon?" she asked, though the last bit was more of a joke, since he had gotten so upset when she suggested he had cat ears earlier.

"Mm warm." She muttered, acknowledging him. She didn't want him to feel she was ignoring him. She was afraid it'd make him mad and he'd end up making her life harder.

Inuyasha growled at her, glaring. "I am not a cat." He snapped at her. Hating that she always insinuated he was one. Pouting he turned his attention to his walking.

Sesshomaru nodded, but figured that there was no point in trying to attempt further conversation with the girl. Turning his attention back to the sky, he let out a quiet sigh.

Miyako tried not to laugh, she really did, but she couldn't help it when he pouted. "Sorry, sorry," she said before she offered him a grin, "I was just teasing."

Rei shuffled around for awhile, sleeping on the ground wasn't something she'd recommend to any one. She finally settled down again A-Uh. Feeling her body finally relax, as her mind slowly followed, letting her drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Inuyasha frowned, before turning his attention away from her. He felt something off. Normal there wasn't anybody out and about this late at night. He nodded to her letting her know that he heard her, but he was feeling a presence he shouldn't.

Sesshomaru could hear everybody's breathing turn deep and slow, signaling that they had drifted off. His attention went to Rei and he watched the girl for a few moments, surprised with how peaceful she seemed.

Miyako paused when she realized that he wasn't going to reply and she eyed him with curiosity. She wasn't sure whether she should say anything or not, so she stayed silent and turned her attention back ahead.

Inuyasha moved cautiously, though his pace didn't falter. The sooner they were in the village the safer she was, and the less paranoid he would be. Turning his head, he looked around before continuing on. The feeling hadn't left him yet, which could only mean they were being watched.

Miyako glanced over to Inuyasha occasionally, but she was clearly worried about how tense he seemed to be. Regardless, she let out a sigh and turned her attention ahead. "What's wrong?" she asked after a few moments, though she was finding it hard to concentrate, because she was feeling a little tired.

Inuyasha frowned hearing her question, "nothing." He muttered out, hurrying her along towards the village. The sooner they were there the better he'd feel. "Tired?" He questioned, picking up on her change in mood.

Miyako blinked in surprise to his question, but nodded slightly in response. "Yeah," she murmured honestly before she let out a soft yawn. "It's kind of late, after all."

Inuyasha sighed seeing small glimmers of lights, some of the villagers were still awake. Though he knew Kaede would be one of the few still up. He knew she'd be safe there. Though he didn't want to deal with her inquires. "We're almost there." He informed her, he was filled with relief once he breached the border of the town.
