It was a few weeks later that Lila was laying in bed when Mikkie came home from school. Orion was crying and Lila was laying there looking vacant and didn't notice at first when Mikkie came in. When she did notice him she frowned. "He's crying again." she said ashamed and looked away. She felt like a horrible mother. She couldn't even take care of him.

Mikkie frowned softly and nodded, "I'll go get him honey," he said softly. He walked over ot her and kissed her cheek. He had been getting more and more worried about Lila, it seemed that Orion was keeping her down, for some reason. He moved through to the babies room and picked him up beginning to coddle him before moving tochange him.

Mikkie had asked his parents to come over, maybe they would have some idea what was going on.

Karla knocked on the front door Ben grabbing the casserole she had made. When Mikkie opened the door she beamed. "Oh look at that two of my favorite boys." she said and kissed Mikkie's cheek then Orion's and took him form Mikkie. She smiled. "Hello honey how are you?" she asked him. Ben came up with the casserole and they all went inside to the kitchen Orion was passed from grandparent to grandparent with lots of love and kisses while they listened to why Mikkie had called them over.

Mikkie smiled brightly and moved to Lila's side, cuddling with her. He curled up on the couch and began to talk with his parents about it all, and how much they were both struggling.

Lila had come out of their room hearing the knock and Mikkie's mother. She smiled softly at Mikkie and sat with him on the couch. She listened to Mikkie tell his mother how they had been struggling. Mostly it was how she was struggling and he was trying in vain to help her. Karla nodded when he had finished. "It sounds like postpartum depression. It happens sometimes. It's hard to go through and even harder to understand. But how can we help you dears? Do you just need a break?"s he asked and Lila looked up hopeful and yet terrified. Karla nodded and looked at Mikkie to get his take on it.

Mikkie sighed and cuddled up to Lila, "I don't know, maybe a break would be good, I always feel so bad leaving her here with him, while I go to school," he said softly. He looked at Lila, "what do you think, should we see if they can look after the little guy for a bit?" he asked

Lila looked down. She knew she needed help and that she had been avoiding talking about it. "If it wont be too much trouble. I don't want you all to think that I'm... that I am a bad mother because of this." she said and Karla shook her head. "No love we wont think that way." she reached over and squeezed Lila's hand. "You're young and this is hard on you to begin with but with the postpartum it makes it exceedingly difficult to bond with him and that can take months to change." Lila looked at Karla with concern. "Let us look after him while you rest and heal up. You can come visit all the time and even come stay when you're feeling more ready if you like and he can stay with us as long as you like." she said and Lila broke down in tears hugging Karla. Karla rocked her softly and smiled at her son. "I know." she said. She was very proud of her son for recognizing something was wrong, getting help, and supporting Lila. Ben grinned and rocked Orion. He was already planning everything out in his head. Once Lila was calmed she sat back with Mikkie. "Well now there is a long weekend coming up here next week. Why don't you both spend some time with him and get him switched over to formula. Then you can drive him on down and spend the weekend enjoying him before you head back." she said and Lila nodded grateful that they wouldn't be taking Orion tonight. She loved him even if she was sad and didn't really feel that he was hers. "Thank you."

Mikkie smiled and pulled Lila close, "that sounds perfect, mom, but you both have to stay for dinner," he said softly. He kissed Lila's cheek, "We will get through this, and eventually when you are ready, we will bring him back, and we will all be a family," he said softly.

Karla smiled and nodded. "Of course." she said and stood. I'll go warm it up." she said leaving the room Ben and Orion following. Lila signed and nodded leaning into Mikkie. "I'm sorry Mikkie. Any time I tried to bring it up something always stopped me. And now I feel bad because you love him and want him near but... I just don't feel like I would be a good mom like this." she said hoping he wouldn't be mad.

Mikkie smiled and held her, "it's fine Lila, honestly, I just want you to be happy, and some time with just me again, should help," he said softly. He kissed her neck, "we will figure this all out," he said.

Lila nodded and sighed melting into him. "Thank you." she said and kissed him sweetly. She was so glad to feel like there was a solution to all of this.

Mikkie held her tightly, and kissed her. "Come on lets go eat," he said softly.

Lila nodded and stood. She moved into the kitchen with him and smiled as she watched Karla and Ben moving around the kitchen. It wasn't long before they were all seated at the table eating.

Mikkie smiled and followed her, he slowly ate dinner. "How have you both been?" he asked his parents. They continued small talk throughout the meal. It was nice to talk about normal things, and their lives for awhile

It was the day before Lila and Mikkie were going to take Orion down to Mikkie's parents house. Lila sat with Mikkie and Orion on the floor while Orion lay on the mat looking up at the hanging toys. Lila grinned as Mikkie talked to Orion and he sucked on his hand. He was cute, there was no denying that and Lila would miss him but she needed this. She was just grateful that Mikkie was supporting her in this. she could see how much he would miss him and wished there was another way.

Mikkie continued to play with Orion, he was a little sad that they we sending him away, but he knew that Lila needed a break. He looked over at Lila, "shall we call in to your parents place before we go to mine? or do you want to do it after?" he asked her curious. They had spoken about telling them about the wedding and everything, but hadn't yet gotten around to it.

Lila nodded. "Yeah we should stop by my parent's house with Orion and let them meet him. We can tell them while we are there." she said and smiled softly at him.

Mikkie nodded and moved over to her, "yeah that sounds perfect," he said gently. He kissed her, "can you watch him, while I go get sorted and packed?" he asked her

Lila nodded but patted his hand. "I'll get it all sorted and pack love you spend time with him." She said knowing he would want as much time as he could get with their son. She stood and went to go get everything prepared.

Mikkie smiled and nodded, "okay thank you my love," he said. He moved back to his son abd began playing with him some more.
