Strange Encounter

I nodded a little. "Oh. Does this mean I can expect you at weird hours after your meetings run later than expected?" I asked with a small smile as I cooked.

He nodded a little. "Well, maybe you could come with me to work some time. I'm a Dj at a club downtown." He said with a smile. "If you like good music, then you should come check me out."

She smiled a little as she looked at him, "I could definitely do that, seems like a pretty laid back job and it also tells me why you came home drunk yesterday," she laughed a little,"I swear you ran into every wall on your way up here," she told him.

He nodded,"Yes, probably," he said to her smiling a little,"I don't know many people, you're actually the first person I've spoken to outside of work in a long time,"

I smiled a little and nodded, putting the food into the oven and turning to him. "I'd like that." I admitted with a smile. "I work as a secretary to a giant firm downtown. Pearson Spector, maybe you've heard of them." I said with a shrug.

He scratched his head in embarrassment. "I... Uh... There was a party." He said sheepishly. "I normally don't drink like that." He said with a sigh.

She laughed a little, "Well, it's alright. Everyone is entitled to drinking their weight in germany," she told him grinning a little as she sipped her milk and stretched. "I don't drink much, I party sober," she laughed a bit, "I learned my lesson," she shook her head.

He nodded,"I have, vaguely but I have heard of them," he said to her smiling a little.

I went over and sat on my couch, sighing a bit. "It's pretty big, but I love working there." I said with a smile.

"So what do you do for fun?" I asked him curiously.

He laughed a little. "Well... Normally I don't let myself get that bad," He admitted. "But you should definitely come by one night and see me. It would be a great surprise."

She nodded a little,"Is it the big one down the way?" she asked pointing in the direction from the front of the building, "the one with all the lights and loud music?" she asked him smiling a little as she licked her lips.

He laughed,"Well, I'm not sure I work a lot so I don't normally.. have.. fun? That sounds bad doesn't it?" he said to her.

"A bit yeah." I laughed a little. "You don't do anything for fun? Nothing at all? You had to have some hobbies at some point." I said, getting up to get something to drink for the both of us. "Do you like traveling, or reading?"

He laughed. "The very same." He murmured, taking another bite of brownie. "Can I expect you sometime soon?"

She nodded,"Yeah, maybe I'll stop by tomorrow night or... tonight rather," she laughed a little, "I'm sure you're tired though and next time I'll make some pasta or something instead of something so sweet," she said to him smiling.

He shrugged,"My job is my hobbie, I work a lot," he said to her, "Not much time for fun," he murmured.

I nodded a little, sitting back down. "I see." I murmured, looking at the clock and getting back up to check on the food. I didn't know what to say to that, or how to react. What if he was a workaholic and I had been crushing on a man who barely had time for himself?

"Definitely come by tonight. I want to see more of you." He said with a smile, finishing up another brownie. "But I can expect to see you for breakfast? Or lunch?"

She smiled a little,"How about both? I can make a mean bicuits and gravy," she said to him, "and for lunch I could a seven layer dip with home made chips to go with it," she said to him licking her lips a little.

"It's not like I don't want to, I just... work is really demanding since I moved her - it's a new position and what not," he told her

He smiled. "I'm going to hold you to that. So biscuits and gravy for breakfast?" He asked. "I'll supply the plates and... Brownies."

I nodded a little. "In any case, you should find time for fun. There's no fun when you don't make time for it." I murmured, taking the food out.

She smiled a little,"So breakfast, and lunch and thats tomorrow so I'll bring pasta by after the club tonight," she said to him as she thought about it, "do you like sausage?" she asked, "It's the only meat I use in pasta,"

"I will eventually," he smiled, "Once I'm more settled in," he told her.

I nodded a little, making the plates and sighing. I chewed on my lower lip while I tried to think of something else to talk about. I couldn't think of anything else so I fixed the plates and took them to the table. "Alright, the food is ready."

He nodded. "Sausage is great. What kind of pasta do you make?" He asked curiously.

"The one with the cheese in the middle and I make my own sauce its great after a night of drinking," she smiled a little,"I might make some garlic bread too," she murmured as she thought about it.

He smiled a little as he walked over to the table,"This looks really good," he said to her.

I smiled a little. "Thanks. It's a recipe my mom taught me." I murmured, sitting down at the table. "Water okay?"

He smiled a little. "That's even better," He murmured, taking another brownie to eat. "I'm not the best cook."

she smiled,"Well then I'll cook no worries, I make too much half the time anyway," she smiled.

He smiled and nodded,"Yeah thats fine," he said to her.

I nodded a little and set the glass in front of him. "Well, if you don't have hobbies, what's a day of work like for you?"

"Youre more than welcome to bring some over. I usually eat takeout." He admitted sheepishly

"Well, generally I try to find people who want to work for my company then I contract them our then send them to logistics and what not so they can help them with the process then they're back to me so I can find work for them to do - I basically put construction teams to work which... is kind of crazy," he said to her.

"Nope, that won't do," she said shaking her head,"I'll feed you, its okay," she smiled at him.

I smiled a little and shrugged. "That doesn't sound fun at all, I'm sorry." I laughed, shaking my head. "Maybe that's not a bad thing. Too much excitement is overwhelming, but not enough is torture."

He laughed. "Let me call my mom so she'll know I'll finally be properly fed."

She grinned a little,"I'm sure she'll be happy to know that you're finally not eating processed junk every night,"
