Right Where I Need to Be

Brooke finished buttoning up her shirt, leaving the top few undone for good measure, and then moved to open the door. When she did, she was met by Luke, much to her surprise. This only lasted for a moment, though, and she quickly gave the other a crooked grin and leaned against the door frame almost dramatically.

"Good morning. What can I do for you?" she asked, fighting back a giggle.

Luke opened his mouth to speak, but upon seeing the grin and the amusement in her eyes, his own narrowed. She was doing this...on purpose.

He bit the inside of his cheek, glancing toward the wall behind her before looking back at her face. His eyes quickly took in her shirt, with the hint of cleavage poking out. He snapped his eyes back to hers, before stepping forward and pushing her back into her room. His hands went to her waist, using his strength to spin them around, pinning her the wall beside her door.

Before she had a chance to utter a word, he captured her lips with his for a the third time in twenty-four hours.

Brooke gasped and didn't respond at first, as she was taken completely off guard, but that faded rather quickly. She brought her hands up to his face and returned the kiss, moaning softly against his lips. She realized that, deep down, this was pretty much what she'd wanted all along. However, there was still that nagging bit of resistance because this thing between them wouldn't last when her time at the farm was done and she returned home.

In that moment, though, Brooke pushed any doubt she felt away and let herself indulge in Luke's embrace.

Luke groaned, one of his hands sliding down to the small of her back as the other slid through her hair. He used the hand on her back to pull her flush against her body, as he tilted her head back slightly and run his tongue across the seam of her lips. He knew that he shouldn't be doing this, but damn he couldn't resist.

Brooke smiled when she felt his tongue at her lips, and then proceeded to open them just a bit so her own tongue could touch his. It was strangely intimate, and she found herself craving more of his touch.

Luke groaned, flicking his tongue against hers once more before pulling back just enough that he could pull her bottom lip between his teeth. He gently nipped the flesh before flicking his tongue over it once. Just as he started to deepen the kiss even further, he pulled his mouth away from hers. His hands remained in their places however, and he pulled her closer still.

"If you don't want anything to happen between us, you have got to stop teasing me." He said, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Brooke was confused, and about to ask Luke what the hell he meant, but then it hit her like a ton of bricks: he'd seen her the night before, and it got to him. Suddenly, she felt rather elated, and her cocky demeanor from before returned as she pushed herself away from him a bit.

"Teasing you?" she questioned, mock shocked. "What are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about," he said, his fingers tightening on her skin before he released her entirely. "I will respect your wishes Brooke, but just please don't tease me."

"Oh, you mean last night?" Brooke asked, deciding to play along. "I was just getting ready for bed. That's what I do every night."

"You do a strip tease in front of your window? Yeah okay, and besides you've never done that before." he said, narrowing his eyes accusingly.

"Oh? Well, then, let me ask you this: how would you know what I do before bedtime?" She didn't give him a chance to answer that; instead, she wagged her index finger at him as though scolding a child. "Naughty, naughty, Luke."

With that, she turned and walked out of the room, feeling utterly pleased with herself.

Luke watched her walk out, completely flabbergasted. He couldn't remember a time, when a girl made him so...dumb. For lack of better term. But something about Brooke made him completely loose his wits. He sighed, and reached down to readjust his jeans before heading back down the hallway and towards the stairs. He would get her back somehow, he wasn't sure how...but he would.

Brooke greeted her aunt and uncle, who were sat at the dining table, and then headed into the kitchen. She poured herself a cup of coffee, and then joined Kay and Thomas at the table. There was a stack of pancakes in the middle for anyone to help themselves to, and Brooke eyed them longingly. She desperately wanted to take a couple and chow down, but a little voice in the back of her head told her not to, so she didn't.

"Where's Luke?" Kay asked, giving Brooke a confused look.

Brooke bit her lip to keep from grinning. "Oh, he should be down soon. He probably stopped at the bathroom or something."

Kay seemed to accept this answer, and the blonde was quite thankful for that.

Luke took another moment to compose himself before he walked down the stairs, sending Kay a smile before sliding into his chair. He started fixing his plate, completely ignoring Brooke. After he'd fixed his food up, he turned to Thomas.
"I think that I need to go up and clean out the hayloft. Rearrange the bales of hay, rake up the loose hay." He said, sipping is coffee to hide his smirk. Kay would usually help with that task, but he happened to know she had to go grocery shopping today.

Brooke couldn't help but smile, as she could blatantly see Luke trying his best to ignore her. It was almost like before, except this time, Brooke wasn't mad about it. She knew better now. So, when he sat down and began conversing with Thomas, that was when she took the initiative and stretched her foot across to begin rubbing teasingly at one of his denim-clad legs.

Luke stiffened slightly, feeling her foot brushing against his leg. He watched as Thomas nodded thoughtfully.
"I was wondering when we would need to do that again." his boss said, the man who was the uncle of the girl who was currently trying to play footsie with him.
"Oh Luke, you know I would help you like usual. But I have to go grocery shopping today. Do you think you could show Brooke the ropes? That way you won't have to do it all." Kay said, glancing between her niece and employee, apologetically.

Brooke froze with her foot still against Luke's leg, and looked to her aunt. "Uh, yeah, sure. What exactly does that entail?"
"It's actually pretty easy. You're just going to be moving hay bales, stacking new bales, shoveling loose hair, etcetera. I'm sure if you have any problems, Lukey here will help you." Kay gave Luke a cheesy and expectant smile, to which Brooke rolled her eyes because of course this would happen.

Luke couldn't help but smirk slightly when Brooke froze her movements. She was so stunned, that she'd apparently forgotten what she'd been doing in the first place.

Brooke immediately realized she'd lost track of her goal when she saw Luke smirk out of the corner of her eye. Clearly, he didn't know her as well as he thought, because as soon as she caught her bearings again, she was moving her foot inch by inch up the length of his leg, until it was in his lap and her perfectly manicured toes moved around teasingly.

"That's okay with you two, right?" Kay asked again, looking between them.
"That's perfectly fine with me as long as it's okay with Lukey," Brooke replied, grinning madly. Kay chuckled, thinking Brooke was just joking around with the other, but the twinkle in the blonde's eye said it was something a lot more than that.

Luke coughed, his hand flying to his lap to grasp her foot. He did so without thinking that the action might look suspicious. When Thomas looked at him with a raised eyebrow, he forced a chuckle.

"My phone vibrated in my pocket. Startled me." he said, as he squeezed her foot and pushed it from his lap.
