"It's quite unfortunate, we were really looking forward to having you here with us, Clara." Foggy stated, shaking his head, as he kept up with the whole charade they had going on. It was nice knowing that there was room for laughter and joking despite it being a work environment. Some people might think it to be unprofessional, but Clara didn't see it that way at all. Of course, she saw the shift in conversation to be a necessary one though, and it clearly meant that there was a good balance of work and play here. She liked that a lot. "I enjoy helping people. Not everything is as black and white as some people think, and I've always wanted to help those people who haven't been given the chance that they rightfully deserve."

"What about cases that you don't agree with, morally speaking?" Matt asked, leaning back in his chair. It was a question all lawyers had to face. Someone could walk through the door having murdered someone, and could genuinely need the firm's help. Someone could have attacked someone else in self-defense and taken it too far. Hell's Kitchen was notorious for throwing up the hard cases, and Matt knew that better than anyone else. It wasn't all unfair tenancy agreements and back alley scams. All lawyers had a moment in their careers that made them seriously question whether or not they would be able to take a case. "I just don't want to delegate you to a case if it makes you uncomfortable, or you have moral objections to it." Professionality meant putting aside your own feelings, but sometimes it was hard. Matt hoped that they were creating an environment where anyone could speak up and admit they wouldn't be able to get involved.

Clara wasn't at all surprised when the question came up. It was bound to at some point. She knew that there would be instances when cases just didn't match up with her own morals and beliefs, but she liked to think that she would try, to certain extent, to keep an open mind. "If there are any cases that make me feel extremely uncomfortable, I will let you know." She told him. She already was feeling pretty comfortable here, and she liked to think that she'd be able to at least be honest with them if any cases were just too much for her.

Matt gave a slow nod at her reply, "Good. I don't think any of us want you feeling uncomfortable during your time here." It would probably be a few days before Foggy or Matt assigned any case research to her, just so she was able to adjust to their firm first. It didn't seem fair to pile her under work on her first day with them. "Have you been to Josie's yet?" It was a far less serious question, but Matt figured it would be a good way to get to know Clara after work. All three of them loved to spend time at the bar after work, so why not invite Clara along on her first day? They were all friends, as well as colleagues. He didn't want to leave her out of that.

Clara nodded. "I'll be sure to let you know if I feel uncomfortable." She was glad that they cared enough to want to know if a case made her uncomfortable or not. She knew that it was important to try to separate her own morals from work, but it was nice knowing that if that proved to be a difficult task, she could let them know and they'd be fine with it. "I can't say that I have." She said when Matt asked her if she'd been to Josie's. "I know where we're going tonight then." Foggy said, grinning slightly. "You're going to love it there, Clara."

"It's a real Hell's Kitchen hot spot," Matt grinned, hands moving to open the file he'd gotten out on his desk. "Business attire only." He joked as his fingers started to scan over the title of the document. As fun as it was to sit around and talk to Clara, he really needed to get some work done. He'd left a lot of it up to Foggy and Karen recently, and it wasn't fair. Considering his name was on the firm, he figured it was time he started to pull a bit more weight and take on some more research into cases. "We even have a long standing bar tab there, Josie loves us that much."
