Avery still had felt hurt even if it wasn't rational. She loved Jake and wanted to see him to know every morning he loved her and everything was okay. Avery had forced herself to put on a smile when she out on her cloths this morning. She was in making breakfast when Jake returned and she bit her lip not knowing what to really do. She wanted to say hi but another part of her wanted to ignore him. It was so confusing to be dealing with all of this now. She finally understood why he had gotten so upset when she had just so easily tossed herself in his face and not been ready. She looked up at Jake as he se the wood down. "Hey babe." she said softly and put her arm around herself the other stirring the pot. Avery looked back into the pot and then added some seasonings trying to stay busy.

Haden sighed. "Laney please understand. We need you. You're wolf form has special abilities you don't even know about." he ran a frustrated hand through his hair as she rolled her eyes. He knew they needed to get back. They had only spent one night away from the pack but that was all they could afford not to mention he could feel the growing tension there. "Laney you can't stay in your human form forever!" he said and shook his head taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry." he said not like raising his voice to her, even a little. "It's not healthy for you to always be in wolf form. It will make you more overrated and prone to snapping out of your wolf form in the most dangerous and inconvenient times. "At least if you used your wolf to help the pack then you could get something productive done from the awful process as you feel it is." he said his tone offended. He couldn't understand how she could hate her wolf and still love him completely. Did she hate his wolf too? It was such a big part of him he couldn't separate the two.

Jake frowned when Avery turned from him to busy herself with making food. He didn't like it, not one bit. He never wanted her to ever turn her back on him. And he knew that she was doing her best to give him the space he needed. Grabbing his shirt from his back pocket he wiped his face on it before tucking it back into the pocket. "Hey baby." He threw her words back at her, his arms encasing her waist, as he placed a kiss to her cheek. Pulling her tightly to his chest he breathed in her scent as he relaxed. "Sorry about leaving this morning, but I relieved Kyle on the perimeter run and didn't want to wake you." He knew that she felt hurt, he didn't tell her what he was going to do, even he didn't. But after waking early and not being able to go back to sleep he needed to run out his pent up energy. He got like this every now and again, seeing as how he'd become lax on his job since Avery joined the group. He never was one to sit still and let his pack do all the work. He pulled his weight, and with Haden being gone he had to do extra too, even if that meant leaving his mate sleeping.

Laney groaned before stopping and looking back at him, "would you just shut up already?" She snapped at him, it was the first time she'd actually snapped at him since she'd been changed. "Enough." She shook her head. "I don't fucking care what you have to say about this matter, it's not your concern." She told him truthfully, since she hadn't been a wolf with him yet she hadn't accepted him as her Alpha. So she knew she was just a rouge wolf and she could chose any life she wanted. "And before you start your rant about how your my mate and my alpha think again." She growl warningly. "I will do as I fucking please, and you are not going to control this decision for me. So if I want to stay in my human form for the rest of my life I will, don't push me." She huffed, her body moving with every breath she pulled in, knowing she was beyond pissed. "I've accepted that you are a wolf and that you love this life you have, so you are going to show me the same fucking courtesy and not question me about it again." She panted, "or you'll find yourself with out a mate too." She spat out, before turning and continuing her trek back to camp. She could feel how her words stung, and the hurt that consumed him. She knew that even if it hurt her, she'd do it just to prove a point. He's biggest fear was her leaving him, so why could he not just accept the fact that she needed time. Sure she may not what to be a wolf today or tomorrow but maybe someday she'd trust what she could do. But him pushing her wasn't helping and she needed him to back off.
