"I appreciate the maine coon for it's size," Izaya commented, "although it's sociability may be a problem. The siamese has an impressively judgmental gaze about it, and whilst I respect it's intelligence it may become problematic in that respect."
"Worries the siamese cat may see through your masks?" Kumiko asked in a quiet hum as she set the cat she was holding down. "At least it can keep a secret, though."
"I'm all for a kindred spirit, until it has the potential to put the animal in danger," Izaya huffed. "Something lazy and less bothersome would probably be a safer option."
"A lazy lap cat to sit on you during your creepy chair spinning moments," Kumiko hummed out in response, "So it has to like you and be okay with chairs that spin, too."
"Well that sort of thing wouldn't be discovered until the particular cat has been found, but I'm sure it'll be fine," Izaya said thoughtfully. "And then it would be a matter of kitten or older cat..."
"Probably an older cat. The kitten might be too active and want too much attention, hence making work difficult," Kumiko offered, though she really wasn't sure. She could only assume because of the younger age.
"If it's a kitten it would more than likely form attachments to us both," Izaya said, turning back towards Kumiko. "Besides, you could take it home with you."
"Ah, so I get to be the late night kitten-sitter?" Kumiko asked in a hum. "I guess I wouldn't mind a new cuddle buddy. My current one prefers to rest phones against my head and has even held a knife at me after waking up."
"What's going to happen if my current one actually gets used to sharing a bed?" Kumiko asked, feigning a gasp. "He'll have to sleep all alone and get back to getting used to, well, being alone."
"Which will be no problem, because he enjoys being alone." Izaya said, tone amused. "What would happen if you got too used to sharing a bed with an actual person?"
Kumiko paused and thought about it for a moment or two before she shrugged. "I guess I'll have to go out and find a new cuddle buddy, maybe get a boyfriend for the job?" she suggested.
"If I want a cuddle buddy after my current one ditches me, the only choice I really have is to go out and find one, so leaving my home is the only option," Kumiko told him, "Which means, I'm going to do it."
