Nothing But A Number

Hannah glared at him, "It's called being fucking smart!" She snapped at him. "And maybe none of them stuck because you don't try." She said, frowning when he looked at his phone. "Really? Got another girl to fuck?" She snapped. She looked away from him. "Just take me home. I'm done with this whole thing. I feel dumb for even trying to be with you. The problem is not the age difference. It's the fact that you are a jerk." She said, glaring at him.

Kenny sighed as she yelled at him. He hated being yelled at. He stood up angry and yelled back. "I'm smart too kid! I was checking the fucking time. My mother gets out of surgery tonight and I promised to call her." He said, a bead of sweat on his forehead. His face was red from yelling and when he calmed down he sighed and shoved the phone into his pocket. "Fine. Let's go." He growled as e walked through the house and back out to his car. Kenny got into the driver's seat as he drove Hannah home, before he let her out he leaned across and kissed her cheek, but didn't say anything as e leaned back into the driver's seat.

Hannah frowned when he said his mom was sick. She followed him out, thanking his friend for inviting her before she left. She got in his car and looking out the window the whole ride home. When he kissed her cheek she gave no reaction. She grabbed her purse, then looked at him. "I hope your mom is okay." She said softly before getting out of the car. She shut the door then walked into her house. Hannah walked to her room and laid on her bed, crying. She couldn't believe she let herself getting tangled up in a guy like that.

Kenny watched Hannah into the house making sure she was safe and inside before he drove off. He drove home and sighed, walking in he slammed his door shut. He was pissed. He didn't understand why. She shouldn't mean anything to him. He pretty much deatroyed his house out of anger.

The next weekend he and James decided to go out. Kenny had had a tough week and he had been hostile towards nearly everyone that week. Maybe a few drinks would loosen him up. Kenny sat at the bar downing glass after glass of whiskey, slowly getting drunk.

Hannah walked into the club with James's wife. She had convinced her to join her and her husband. Hannah frowned when she saw Kenny was with him. They had failed to tell her this. "Dude don't hate me." James said as Hannah and his wife came over. Hannah said hi to James and ignored Kenny. She wasn't going to fall back into his trap. She ordered a drink and sighed when she saw that she had to sit next to Kenny. She sat next to him, taking a sip of her drink. He was clearly already drunk. James looked at them, "So how is everyone." HE said, trying to break the tension.

Kenny looked over as he heard Jame's wife entered, his nose scrunched up as he saw Hannah with them, quickly downing another glass of whiskey. He wasn't sure why he felt at this moment. He didn't like the fact that Hannah was ignoring him. Kenny glared at his friend and looked at Hannah again. "I'm doing okay." He murmured and bit his lip, when James and his wife left to go dance Kenny leaned on the bar and looked at her. "You look so good tonight Hannah." He murmured and bit his lip. "I'm sorry I'm a jerk.
You are so beautiful and ugh." He groaned and held the glass in his hands tightly.

Hannah looked at him when he complimented her, "Thanks." She said, watching as he bit his bottom lip. She looked at her drink, then watched as he groaned. "Are you going to Jen and James's halloween party?" She asked him. The woman had asked her to go, but she didn't want to upset Kenny. She looked down at her drink again, not wanting to make eye contact with him. She always lost herself with him. Seh looked back at him, seeing how tightly he was gripping his glass. She could tell it was hard for him and she was kind of glad he was missing her so much. It made her feel like leaving was the best thing.

Kenny grumbled something quietly in response as he finished the glass, sliding it to the bartender for another. Who shook his head telling Kenny he had enough. Kenny whined in protest. But have up fighting as he looked at Hannah. "Yea, you should go. You'd like it." He mumbled and laid his head on the bar waiting for a different bartender to come so he could drink again. "Come home with me?" He asked as he looked across at Hannah. "Please. We always have good times together." He murmured and bit his lip again.

Hannah looked at him as he laid his head on the bar and smiled when he asked her to go with him. "Kenny i don't think that is good idea." She said, shaking her head. "I mean i don't want anyone getting hurt again..Mostly me." She said as she took his hand. "I mean we can hang out when we get there." She said as she played with his fingers. She could see how drunk he was, "Do you have a way home tonight? Is James taking you?" She asked, concerned for him. Hannah was so worried that he would get hurt in his state. She looked at him, running her thumb over his lip so he would quit biting it. She smiled at him as he watched her.

Kenny whined again, he was a sad and pitiful drunk man. That was probably why he never became an alcoholic. "I don't think it's a bad idea." He mumbled and glanced across at Hannah. "No. I dunno." He mumbled, his voice bitter and he laid his head down on the bar again. When he was drunk he either hated being touched or needed every ounce of affection. He pulled away from Hannah and just looked at her. "Let me take you home. You look so good. We have so much fun together. And your so cute and so good." He said. His eyes glazed over as he hiccuped.

Hannah looked at him, "How about i drive you home instead?" She suggested. Hannah bit her bottom lip lightly as she watched him. "Come on. Get your things i will take you home." She said. He was so drunk and she wasn't letting him drive. She said goodbye to everyone and let Kenny to the car. She helped him into the car and got in. She drove to his house then walked him to the door, helping him unlock the door. Hannah walked inside with him and set her things down, "Do you need anything before i go?" She asked him softly. She knew it was a bad idea to drive him home, but she cared for him.

Kenny didn't argue, letting himself be pretty much dragged from the bar and out to his car. He laid down in the back seat, taking to himself, or someone who wasn't really there. It wasn't really positive what he was talking about. Kenny stumbled into his house and looked over at Hannah. He scrunched up his eyebrows and nose as he tried to think clearly. "I need you." He said, though his voice was more sincere than drunken in that one moment. He went to talk again before coughing, looking at her, his eyes pained as he fell to his knees, then backwards, clutching his chest as he began to have a heart attack.

Hannah frowned when Kenny fell to the floor, "Kenny!" She yelled, kneeling beside him. She felt his pulse, "Baby you're having a heart attack." She said. She grabbed her phone and called 911. Hannah grabbed his face, "Kenny look at me." She said, looking down at him. She was relieved when the paramedics got there. Hannah went to the hospital with them, walking inside. She sat in the waiting room while they took care of Kenny. Hannah called James to let him know what was going on. Hannah looked up when the doctor said that her dad was stable. Hannah narrowed her eyes, "That's my friend." She said. She rolled her eyes and walked pass him to Kenny's room. She bit her bottom lip seeing that he was awake, "Hey." She said as she walked to his bed and sat on the edge of it. She looked at him and took his hand, "Doctor said you are doing better." She said as she watched him. She looked over as the doctor walked in, "Mr. Dixon we are going to keep you for the next couple days and make sure everything is normal. You are gonna have to take some time off work and stay away from the alcohol." He said. "You're lucky this young lady was with you tonight." He said before leaving. Hannah looked at Kenny, "I will stay with you as long as you want me here." She told him.

Kenny was just waking up when Hannah came in. He didn't say anything at first, then looked over when the doctor came in. Frowning at the doctors words, he could do without the alcohol he knew that. But he didn't like missing work. He had people to take care of and he didn't trust all of his colleagues to take care of his cases properly. But he knew that Hannah wouldn't let him just up and leave. So he bit his tongue and nodded in agreement. When the doctor left and Hannah was there he turned red, frowning at his own blush as he looked at Hannah. "Can I get that kiss now?" He asked teasingly. Kenny took one of Hannah's hands and played with her fingers. "You don't have to spend the night in the hospital for me. I won't ask that of you. But if you could come visit that'd be nice. Maybe stop by my place and get my folder of cases.
I can't fall behind." Kenny said and gave her a smile. When she told him that a doctor called him her father he chuckled. "See told you I'm too old for you."
He teased. "Here I am having heart attacks and people think I'm your father."

Hannah smiled and kissed him, then listened to him. "No i will stay with you tonight. Nobody wants to be in these places alone." She said. She shook her head when he said about the files. "I will get them, but you can't do them all the time." She said. She smiled when he said about him being to old, "Well you do like me calling you daddy." She whispered teasingly in his ear. She smiled at his reaction. "I'm not worried about what people think though." She said as she kissed his hand. "Get some sleep. I'm gonna run home and get a few things and change out of this dress. I will swing by your place on the way back." She said as she got up, grabbing his keys. "I um...called James. I wasnt sure who else you would want me to call." She said. "I will be back." she said, kissing him again before she left.

Hannah went home and got dressed then got some things to keep her occupied. She looked in the mirror realizing this was the first time Kenny would see her not all dressed up. She went to his house, gathering his files and some things he would need. She found a bag and put his stuff in before leaving. Hannah walked into his room and saw he was sleeping. She put his stuff in the little closet they had then turned off his tv before she sat in the chair near his bed. She opened her book she brought with her and curled up in the chair beneath a lamp to read while he slept.

Kenny couldn't help but smile when she said she would stay. It made him happy that he had someone to care about him. "Fine I promise I won't. But still."
He murmured. When Hannah made the comment about their sex life the breath hitched in his throat and he groaned. "You're gonna make me have another heart attack. Shush." He teased as he kissed Hannah. "I know I know. But still. Id rather not get the rep of pedophile. You're two years legal. Two years ago this would send me to jail." Kenny yawned and tries to get comfortable despite the machines attached to him. "Okay, love, that's fine I can call people tomorrow." He murmured, not realizing the new name he had given to her.

Kenny was out cold and asleep minutes after Hannah left. He didn't move much when she came back, but as he fell deeper and deeper into his sleep he began to talk. Most sentences were unintelligible. But occasionally he'd make a comment about Hannah, or feelings, or being confused, and a couple about their sex life. As he drifted from one dream to the next they changed. He woke up the next mornjng and frowned remembering he was in the hospital. He buzzed for a nurse and asked to have food for both him and Hannah brought in even though she was asleep. He wouldn't care about paying for it. He had more money than he needed anyway. He called a few people to tell them what happened. Not expecting any to care too much.

Hannah fell asleep in the chair, holding her book in her hands. She slept silently curled up in her chair. Hannah woke up when she heard the nurse set something down, her book falling to the floor. She sighed and picked it up. Hannah looked over at Kenny, "Morning." She said as she stood up. She moved over to him once the nurse left. "Sleep okay?" She asked him as she sat on the edge of his bed and got his food ready for him. She looked at him, "I put all your stuff in the closet over there." She explained.

Kenny glanced over and gave Hannah a smile as the nurse left. "Morning." He murmur neves and sat up in the bed. "As well as someone can in the hospital. You know you don't have to stay in sure you didn't sleep to well. I don't want you to feel like you have to stay for me, Hannah." He said and grabbed her hand,
Kissing her knuckles. "Take care of yourself." He murmured and grabbed a form as he began to eat the breakfast brought to them. When she told him where his stuff was he nodded and smiled. "Thank you for doing that." He murmured. Kenny really was thankful for Hannah at that time. Confused as hell about what he wanted. But thankful that she still had a soft spot for him

Hannah shook her head, "No im fine." She said with a smile. She looked over as his friend James and his wife came in. "I will let you guys be alone." She said as she got up and walked out of the room to get some coffee. James lookee at Kenny, "I told you she was a good one" he teased his friend. "How you feeling bud?" He asked as he sat down.

Kenny rolled his eyes at James as he came in. "That doesn't matter James. She's a good friend and a good fuck. We wouldn't work. I'm too old." He said and finished the food before sitting up and looking across at the two friends. "I'm fine, as good as I could be after almost dying." He commented, making small talk with James until Hannah came back, smiling when she did. He couldn't help but think about when and how he would fuck Hannah next. He knew he would want to when he got out of this stupid place.
