He felt that was neither confirming of denying what his father was saying. Oliver was still sipping his beer and looked back at his father as he spoke about Rebecca. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "She was..." he paused to find the right words. "Rebecca was waiting for me in my apartment when I arrived. I guess she charmed Ms. Phillips into letting her in. She informed me of our lunch tomorrow and let out some rather demeaning and vulgar words on her way out." he said and sighed. "I know mom means well but I don't see how Rebecca was the best she could do." he said. "She has repeatedly told me that I am nothing better than her bank account." he shook his head surprised at how easy it was to talk to his drunk father.

Ryan walked out and sat down with her, "The food looks great." He said, smirking. He could tell she was still upset about what they had talked about earlier. He looked at her, "Evie are you sure you are okay? You can tell me if you aren't." He said. He took a bite of his food, hoping that he could make her feel better. He could feel his son staring at him, "Oliver, I know you like to do things that you are told and you are more like me than I would like to admit." He said, eating one of his fries. He said, staring at his son. "If you want to try it with Rebecca then by all means do, but if you want out then figure something out. Your mother will not be as easy to persuade." He said, taking a sip of the water that Lexi had given him. "You love Lexi though." He said, shrugging.

Evie smiled softly and took another bite. He wanted her to talk to him and she frowned saying. "I really like you Ryan and it really sucks that you're not in the same place as me but like I said it's not you I am upset with. You have to heal and deal with everything. I get it but I have a tendency to get attached to men that don't really want relationships, at least not with me and then I am left again alone and figuring it all out again. It's frustrating and makes me wonder what exactly is wrong with me. Where am I going so wrong that I keep ending up here." she said and shrugged.

Oliver was stunned into silence. His father was telling him not to marry Rebecca. He was telling him all kinds of shocking things and he wondered if when his father sobered up if he would still mean all of this. "Dad mom doesn't own the company like you. "If you are eliminating the terms of my contract to take over the family business then I can lead my life the way I see best." he said and looked at his father trying to see if he was going to back out with this being a real possibility that his mother would have to deal with. Oliver was fine with his mother excommunicating with him but his father was in charge of the business and all the finances.

Ryan sighed as he looked at her, "Evie, Im not going to do something like that to you. I like you a lot. I just don't want to rush into anything. I am not talking to any other women." He explained. Once he finished eating he got up, cleaning up his plate. He walked over and kissed her cheek, "Dont worry yourself sick over this." He said. He walked back to his room and grabbed his guitar, sitting down again.

William looked at his son, "I am not going to make you marry her. You will get the company at the end of the year." He said, eating some more of the food. "You however have to break up with Rebecca." Evie sighed. She needed up throwing out half her food and putting away the leftovers. She cleaned the kitchen and then decided she needed a walk.
