Evie giggled as he called her princess. That was an interesting nickname for her. She shook her head as he confessed he totally skipped school to play at the arcades. She laughed as he beat her by a few points. "Uhh!" she laughed and shook her head smiling as he handed her the tickets. She looked up at him looking him over then took his hand moving to the ticket counter eating in line while all the kids around them picked toys and such. When it was her turn she looked over everything then pointed to a bean filled turtle that was no bigger than her hand. "That one." she said and grinned as the man handed it to her and then a temporary tattoo as well. She giggled feeling completely delighted. He asked if she had fun and she nodded. "Yes very much thank you." she said and put on the helmet as well. She placed her turtle safely in her pocket and then got on the bike behind him. "And you?" she asked and bit her lip. She wondered if this was normally how he had fun and doubted it.

Oliver smiled and helped her get everything then handed her his shirt. When she sat down beside him he put his arm around her shoulder and chuckled. "Lexi you're sexy as hell and can back it up with skill. You could have any man you want why would you mess around with me?" he asked his eyes fluttering closed and open as her fingers moved through his hair. Every touch from her was heavenly.

Ryan smiled, "I did have fun." He said as he started his bike. He smiled as he took off and took her back to her apartment. "Well this is where our journey ends." He said as he watched her get off the bike. He took the helmet off and stayed on the bike, holding it up. He took the helmet from her. "I hope you had fun Evie." He said as he watched her. He smiled at her, "I will talk to you later." He said, kissing her cheek. He really didn't want to press his look with her. "I'm sure i will see you tomorrow at the end of Matt's lame party." He teased. He had a concert, but he knew he would see her.

Matt sighed as he sat with his friends, frowning as Evie talked about Ryan alot. "You know you wouldn't like him so much if you heard his music. Matter of fact why don't we go right now." He said as he stood up. He looked at her, "I mean you will have to see it sooner or later." He said. He was jealous and he wanted to prove Ryan wasn't that amazing.

Lexi stared at him, "Because i love you." She whispered. The words that came out of her mouth shocked even her. She shook her head, "I mean..nevermind. You want something to drink?" She asked as she got up and got dressed. She wanted to the kitchen and sighed.

Evie smiled as Ryan dropped her off in front of her apartment. "Alright." she said kind of sad that it was over. "Of course I had fun Ryan. Thank you again." she said and blushed as he kissed her cheek. She didn't want to push her luck by inviting him inside. "I'll see you later Ryan." she said and watched him ride off. She bit her lip and groaned going inside. She just wanted to take a bit of his lip. She walked inside her apartment and spent the rest of her day distracting herself but that silly little turtle on her nightstand kept reminding her off the amazing time she had.

The next day Evie went to Matt's party honestly just wanting to see Ryan. When people asked what she had done over the weekend she told them about Ryan's surprise and the art they had seen. She blushed as Matt called her out on her like for Ryan. "Matt..." she frowned. "What do you mean now?" She let Matt take her wrist and take her out to his car as he explained Ryan had a concert tonight. She rant through why he hadn't told her in her head but could only assume he assumed that she wouldn't like it. "Matt..." she didn't like how he was behaving. She bit her lip and got in his car listening to the silence as Matt drove. This was the most uncomfortable she had ever been with Matt. When they arrived at a place she didn't really see because of Matt's hurry and the dark. She just had to focus on walking as she kept up with Matt. Ryan and his band were just coming back from a break as Matt moved up into the front so Evie would be able to see Ryan but far enough away that Ryan wouldn't be able to see her just yet. Then the band started to play and Ryan started to sing.

Oliver sat there in shock as Lexi grew flustered and hurried to the kitchen. He sat there blinking. Lexi loved him? Like how a friend, a lover, or was there more to it than any of that? Oliver ran a hand through his hair. He straightened himself up and then walked into the kitchen. "Lexi..." he stopped her taking her hand. "What am I suppose to say to that when you just run away?" he asked and hugged her. He didn't know what to say anyways. Oliver had never been at a lost for words like this and suddenly he knew the ache in his belly the knots that had formed were because he loved her too but what was he suppose to do with that when he was suppose to be getting married to another woman. Oliver sighed and kissed Lexi's cheek. "Let me drive you home." he said awkwardly.

Ryan stood backstage and walked out with his band when it was time for them to come on. The crowd was huge and he was glad they were getting so popular. They were close to getting a record deal. He smirked as the guitar start and he felt himself get in the zone as the crowd when crazy. He began to sing. When did we become these sinking stones? When did we build this broken home? Holding each other like ransom notes. Dropping our hearts to grip our brother's throats. You can't see because you don't know. You're caught below, beneath your own shadow. Stuck inside, half alive. Lexi frowned, "So what now you are making me go home because you don't want to deal with me?" She asked as tears came to her eyes. She pulled away from him. "Don't bother." She said as she crossed her arms. "I can take myself home." She said as she started to grab her stuff. She hated that she had deal with this. She couldn't handle watching him marry someone else. "Oliver i can't do this. I can't watch you marry her." She said, staring at him.

Evie watched Rya on stage and smiled seeing the expression she hadn't seen yesterday. She found herself getting lost in the crowd and listening to the songs. She found herself moving forward until her eyes met Ryan's and she smiled at him wondering if he was really seeing her. He was really good and his bandmates supported him with everything they had. She taught it was beautiful and she tried hard to listen to the words he sang. Evie didn't realize that Matt hadn't followed her and was steaming back somewhere in the crowd. Once they took another break she looked around seeing Matt and walked over to him. He looked expectantly at her. "That was amazing!" she said her ears slightly ringing from the music though. She gasped as Matt took her wrist and started to walk towards the door. "Matt you're hurting me." she said pushing at his hand on her wrist.

Oliver frowned at what she said. "Lexi no of course not." he said and froze at what she said next. He shook his head. "Lexi..." he said softly unable to say or do anything else. What was he suppose to do. His parents would never approve of him breaking off his engagement for Lexi. And he had made a commitment to Rebecca. Oliver ran a hand through his hair. They had talked about this. He couldn't do anything was Lexi got even more upset. "I'm sorry." he said not knowing what else to say.

Ryan was surprised to see Evie looking up at him. When they took a break he went to find her. He frowned when he seen Matt take a hold of her. He walked over and shoved Matt, "Hey back the fuck up man." He said, glaring at his friend. He stood between Evie and Matt, frowning as Matt stormed off. Ryan turned to Evie, "Are you okay?" He asked, "What are you doing here?" He asked. He was surprised to even see her there. "Um..look you don't have to leave. Why don't you come backstage and hang out and i will take you home." He suggested. He knew she looked like she was having a good time. He was glad when she agreed he walked back with her, "Guys this is Evie." He said, introducing her to his band. His drummer Lennox smiled at her, "Hey." She said, clearing high from the weed she was smoking. Ryan looked at Evie, "You want some water or something?" He asked.

Lexi shook her head, "Wow." She said before she stormed out. She went back to her apartment and got dressed for bed before laying down. She frowned when she seen Oliver trying to call her. She ignored his call and turned her phone off before she went to sleep.

Evie gasped as Ryan moved between her and Matt. She bit her lip. What was wrong with Matt. He couldn't be that pissed off that she was into Ryan could he? Ryan turned to her and she rubbed her wrist. "Yeah I'm fine... thanks." she said and looked up at him smiling gently before frowning at the direction Matt went. She didn't want to go after him and she had no idea were she was. Evie looked back at Ryan as he asked what she was doing here. "Matt wanted me to hear your band." she said and and looked down at her wrist again. It was still hurting a little. Her wrist would probably bruise later. When Ryan said she didn't have to go she was relieved first then kind of excited. He made her an offer that she really was excited for. "I would like that a lot." she said and smiled at him. Evie walked with him and smiled shyly at the band. "Hello." she said and smiled at the woman that said hello back. That was his drummer wasn't it? Evie looked at the thing she was smoking and bit her lip. She had never really been around weed but in a medical setting. It was something they had experimented at work with in the micro level of course. Evie looked up at Ryan and nodded. "Umm do you have any rum?" she asked softly knowing a drink or two would help settle her nerves and receive some of the increasing pain in her wrist.

Oliver ran a hand through his hair. She was gone and he didn't know how long she was going to be gone for. He knew he screwed that up big time but how was he suppose to react they had been asking bout the issue for days already and she just couldn't understand. Oliver waited an hour then called her wanting to be sure she got home alright. He hated when she left pissed off and it was getting dark. He realized she had to be fine though because she had ignored his call. He didn't even leave a voice mail. Oliver sighed and went to bed. He was meeting up with Rebecca again tomorrow.

Ryan nodded, "Yea." He said. He got her something to drink and handed it to her. He sat down next to his friend Kyle and looked at him. He took a sip of his beer then looked at Evie, "So you like it?" He asked, knowing she probably did. He took the blunt from Lennox and took a hit from it before he handed it back. He moved closer to Evie and pushed her hair behind her shoulder, "I'm sorry about Matt. I knew he was an ass, but not like that." He said. Even though he was drinking and doing drugs. Ryan was still his collected self he always was.

Lexi woke up the next morning and didn't even bother getting dressed. She went to the living room and decided to binge watch Netflix. She didn't turn her phone on because she knew the pressure of talking to Oliver was too much. She sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair.

Evie bit her lip and took a seat next to Ryan thanking think for the drink. She downed it quickly the buzz settling her nerves at least. He asked if she liked his band and she nodded. "I do indeed. Why didn't you tell me you had a concert tonight?" she asked and smiled. She watched him take a hit and then move closer to her. She blushed as his hand gently moved her hair away. She carefully took off her jacket feeling out of place with that on. She set it in her lap and looked down at her hands as he apologized for Matt. She shook her head. "It's not your job to apologize for him." she said and put her hand on his. "But thank you..." she said and smiled again. She didn't really want the entire band knowing what just happened anyways so she worked on changing the subject. "So Ryan introduce you're band to me. They know me but I don't know them." she said and looked at the closest person to her and smiled at him.

Oliver woke up the next morning to his phone going off and he jumped to pick it up. "Lexi?" he asked and got an ear full from his mother. He growled and sat up rubbing his face. "Enough! How dare you try and pay her off then lecture me. She is an amazing person mother and you have no right to interfere with my relationship with her." he said and his mother then came back citing him quickly. "But she left didn't she? You two had a fight and she left." his mother said and Oliver hung his head. "I don't have time for this I am going to meet Rebecca for... what ever it is she has planned." she said having forgotten anyways.

Ryan shrugged, "I didn't think you would want to come." He said, laughing. He looked at Kyle, "This is Kyle, You know Lennox, and of course Trent." He said. He looked at Evie. "I'm glad you like my music." He said as finished his beer. Ryan stood up when he was told they had to go back out there. "Don't go anywhere." He teased her before he walked off with his band. When he finished he came back out, "So i'm not sure if Matt is gonna welcome me home tonight." He said as he grabbed his stuff. He looked at Evie, "Think i can crash on your couch. " He said.

Lexi frowned as she stared at the tv and held her cat in her arms. She hated that she was fighting with her best friend. She sighed as she laid on the couch, pouting. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she thought about Oliver and how he was going to be with someone else now.

Evie shook her head. "Of course I wanted to come." she said and then said hello to each band member. She nodded as he said he was glad she liked his music. "You and your band are all very talented." she said. Ryan and the band had to go back on stage and she smiled as he told her not to go anywhere. She nodded and watched him go. Evie ventured out to hear him play some more but once he was done headed back into he room and sat down. When Ryan reminded her that Matt was in a foul mood she nodded. Ryan asked to stay with her and Evie smiled. "Yeah sure Ryan." she said and stood. "I think it's the least I could do for causing such a mess for you." she said and smiled as she walked with him outside. Evie was actually glad she would get to spend a little more time with him tonight though she would guess that he was tired. Evie assumed she would;t be spending much time with him tonight talking but at least while she made up the spare bedroom for him. She left that bit as a surprise.

Oliver showered and dressed going through the motions until he found himself in the car already headed to were Rebecca had wanted him to meet her. Oliver pulled up and parked getting out and texting her that he had arrived and couldn't spot her.

Ryan smiled, "Thanks." He said as he walked out with her. When they got to her apartment he walked into the spare bedroom, "Thanks for letting me stay here Evie. I will find my own place tomorrow so you won't have to keep me long." He said, laughing softly as he set his things down. He watched as she made up the bed, "I really appreciate this." He told her. He knew a lot of people wouldn't have let him stay at their house so he was glad she was nice enough to do so.

Rebecca walked to Oliver and hugged him, "Hey. So we have a ton of wedding stuff to do today." She said as she looked up at him. He seemed like he was upset, but she figured it was over that dumb girl again. Rebecca smiled, "We have to go to decide on the flowers so lets go there first." She said. She didn't care if he wanted to or not. It was her wedding and he was just lucky to have her.

Evie smiled at Ryan as they got to her place and she let him in turning on the lights as she went. "I have a spare room that you can use. I'll make up the bed for you." she said getting some sheets from the linen closet. Evie smiled at him and shook her head. "You're welcome to stay as long as you need." she said knowing it was expensive to live in New York. She made up the bed. "Can you get that corner?" she asked and smiled as he led her make the bed. "It's no problem Ryan." Evie said and Then stepped back as his bed was made. "Well there is only one bathroom, it's just down the hall. If you need anything my room is the only other door in the hall, just knock." Evie said and ran a hand through her hair. "I'll leave you too it. Feel free to shower if you want." she said thinking of what else she might need to do to make him feel comfortable. "And the kitchen you saw on you're way in..." she said headed towards the door. "Help yourself." Evie bit her lip and smiled at him again. "Well good night Ryan." she said and stepped out his door.

Oliver stiffened to Rebecca's touch Lexi popping up in his mind. "Right wedding stuff." he said and ran a hand through his hair. "I'll drive." he said needing something to do. He walked out to his car and watched as she just stood at the passenger door before he realized why. He frowned and went over opening her door and then closing it for her once she was in. He went the long way around his car then got it. This was going to suck. She didn't even ask what was wrong just charged in to her schedule. Oliver watched her up the directions into the GPS and he started to drive listening to her talk about nonsense. He missed Lexi already. Maybe he would try calling again later.

That went on for a week. He tried to call Lexi and thought about her but when she didn't really give he sort of gave up. It had been nearly a month when the engagement party was finally happening. He arrived in his tux picking up Rebecca. As usual she went on and on about something as he drove to his parent's house. When they arrived he opened Rebecca's door and stood with her as they were looking at the big fuss his family was making. "Well here we are." he said.

Ryan nodded as she told him where everything was, "Alright. Good night Evie." He said. He walked into the bathroom, taking a shower and sighing as the water hit his back. He got ready for bed then went to the guest room, laying down. He had no idea what he was going to do about finding a place to go right now. He couldn't mooch off of Evie, but he knew finding a place in New York was really hard to do. He closed his eyes and tried not to think about it.

Rebecca stepped out, "Yep here we go." She said, rolling her eyes. She was always a bitch to him, but she knew he had to put up with it. She walked over to their family putting on her fake attitude.

Lexi sat on one of the bridges that her and Oliver use to hang out at and drank the Slurpee she had gotten herself. She sighed as she watched as people walked by. She knew today was Oliver's engagement party, but she couldn't bring herself to talk to him anymore. She knew she would hate seeing the girl he was marrying.

Evie smiled and then walked to her room. She got ready for bed then laid back on her bed. Evie laid there listening to Ryan in the shower. Had she really just invited this man she hardly knew into her home to stay as long as he needed? Evie sighed closing her eyes. She didn't feel bad about it at all. In fact she was kind of hoping he would stay more than just a night. It would be nice to have some company. Evie slowly fell asleep.

In the morning she woke up wearing her pjs moved out to the kitchen. She started to make some food and turned on a pot of coffee.

Oliver smiled at Rebecca softly. One thing this did get was the pressure parents put on them. After all this was just as much an arranged marriage for her as it was for him. They headed into the house and people greeted them congratulating them on their engagement. Oliver tried hard to keep smiling but he was so frustrated at how happy people were when he was hardly excited.

Ryan got dressed and put his things together and walked out, smirking when he see Evie. "Morning." He said as he grabbed his keys. "Well i guess i'm gonna go attempt to find somewhere to live today." He said, laughing softly. He knew he was probably Matt's enemy right now.

Rebecca walked away from Oliver after a bit and found someone from her family to talk to. She felt uncomfortable with him because honestly he wasn't her favorite choice, but her parents forced her to be with him.

Evie smiled and bit her lip blushing. "Oh good morning." she said and watched him. "Do you want some coffee first? Or... I'm making bacon and eggs." she said and smiled at Ryan. Evie knew he didn't want to be a burden and honestly if it came to that she would talk to him about it and they could work it out. Evie smiled at him. "I mean if you have to go though, then that's okay." she said and then quickly turned back to the eggs and stirred them.

Oliver sighed as Rebecca left him on his own. He ran a hand through his hair looking around for her his mother coming over to him and grabbing his arm painfully. "Oliver get over there." She said pointing to Rebecca. Oliver sighed and walked over to Rebecca. "Sorry to interrupt. Mind if I steal my bride to be?" he asked and smiled softly at Rebecca's family who smiled brightly at how sweet he sounded. The woman nodded and Oliver took Rebecca's hand leading her out to to patio. "Sorry my mom was pushing me to be closer to you and I really just needed a moment." he said and ran a hand through his hair.

Ryan shook his head, "No thanks. You have done enough to help me out." He said. "I will be back in a little bit." He said. He looked at her, "Thanks." He said before he walked out and started looking for an apartment. He sighed as he walked back into Evie's apartment a few hours later. It was such a pain trying to find a place to live. He wished he would have kept his old place instead of letting his dumb ex have it.

Rebecca frowned once they got to the patio. She crossed her arms, "You need to pull your shit together. Quit acting like this is so painful. "She snapped at him. She looked away from him. Rebecca was more concerned about herself and the fact that he had money. "Let's be honest my parents picked you because you have money so just pay for my stuff and we won't have a problem." She said before she walked back inside.

Evie blushed softly and nodded. "Alright." she said a little sad and then watched him go out the door. She sighed and then finished up breakfast cleaning up the house. She was in the shower when Ryan came back. She had left the door unlocked realizing he didn't have a key. Whens he was done she got out of the shower wrapping herself in a towel. Evie came out of the bathroom and blushed as she nearly ran into Ryan. "Oh hey." she said and blushed her skin pink from the shower. "Umm I'm going to get dressed. I'll be back in a moment." she said and touched his hand then moved into her room. She quickly dressed and got herself ready then headed out. "Ryan?" she called softly. "How did it go?" she asked softly.

Oliver frowned and ran a hand through his hair. "That's cold Rebecca." he said and walked back inside. He knew Rebecca followed him and stood beside him as his father called out for a toast from the happy couple. Oliver stuffed his feelings down trying to think of something he could say as he smiled at Rebecca. They walked up to the stage and took a glass from the waiter. They stood in front of everyone. "Ladies first." he said into the microphone and a few people laughed smiling. Oliver stood there knowing they were suppose to talk about how great this opportunity was going to be and what they had learned to love about each other within the month.

Ryan smirked when she ran into him, "Hey." He said before he moved to the couch. He sighed when she asked out it went. "Not so good." He said shaking his head. "I may have to suck up to Matt for a little longer." He said as he leaned back against her couch. He crossed his arms and looked at her.

Rebecca walked in and grabbed her champagne to make the toast, "I'd like to thank everyone for coming tonight. Oliver and I are very happy to start out lives together. Even though i have so much work to do with him. Thankfully he got rid of his trashy whore friend so that makes things easier. One less flaw to fix." She said, laughing softly. She finished her toast, taking a sip of her drink, looking at Oliver.
