Zacky reached in and turned the key again, sighing heavily. "It was working fine this morning," he said. "I mean, this car is really old and I knew it had some issues. But it was working."
Tennessee heard the sound, knowing instantly something was wrong with the engine. "Can you pop the hood for me," she asked. "I think I know what's wrong."
Zacky nodded and popped the hood of his car for her. He walked around and opened it, looking over at her. He was surprised that she seemed to know about cars. He hadn't been expecting that.
Tennessee looked under the hood, smirking when age saw she was right. She walked back to her car, grabbing her multi tool and used it to begin fixing Zack's car.
"After she had my youngest brother she just left," Tennessee stated. "So as soon as I was old enough I got a job and worked on getting my degree to help my dad support my brothers and me."
Zacky nodded his head. "Thanks for helping. I would have been stuck here all night," he said. Because he certainly wasn't about to ask his asshole friends for help.
Zacky got in his car and drove home, doing his homework when he got there and then having dinner. He played on his guitar a bit before he went to bed, having a wet dream.
It was half way through the semester now and for the most part Tennesee's classes were doing way better than expected. She was honestly glad that she was doing well at her job.
Today most of the seniors were on a field trip to some park, but Zacky had decided not to go. Because it meant he would get to be alone with Ms. Banks. Unless some other kid decided not to go too. But who wouldn't? He walked into her classroom, biting his lip. "Hey, Ms. Banks," he greeted.
