The Science of Politics

Lennox made her way through the wood near the small community that her family was staying at. The whole world was destroyed thanks to a very successful terrorist group. She had went to get some water at the place where there was fresh water. Most of the water was contaminated, but they managed to find some. Lennox frowned as she went through the fence that was around the area. She put the water in the supply shed then made her way back to the shed that she was staying in. She opened the window a little, hearing some people talk about a raid that was going to happen tonight. She knew the group was picking off politicians now and her father just happened to be one.

That night Lennox laid on the bed she made for herself and listened for any noises. She sat up when she heard screams. She got up and started to find a place to hide. Lennox slid under a table, pulling something in front of her. She heard gun shots and knew that this group meant business.

Raine loaded his guns and listened to the guys talk about the raid they were having tonight. He got his stuff packed and then headed towards the building where the politician was going to be making a speech. Raine got out of the armored truck, watching as his team moved into the back of the building. He made his way to the roof though. Raine was the sniper of the group and he had to take this guy down. Raine got onto the balcony in the building, setting his stuff up. He hid at the people started to fill into the seats. He was ready to finally do away with this guy.

Leo threw open the door close to the politician's bedroom. He knew that the rest of the team had already taken care of him, but now it was time to do clean up. Anyone else in the house would need to be taken care of before they left. After all, they didn't like surprises or people coming after them. His trained eyes looked around the room, trying to find any place that someone may hide. He threw open the closet door and checked under the bed before moving to the table. Upon flipping it over, Leo saw a girl hiding underneath it. Immediately, he pointed his gun at her head. There was no need to have lose ends.

Roselyn moved silently through the building as she searched for her enemies. She had gotten word that they planned on being here tonight, and she was not going to let them get away with killing another politician! These members of society were needed to keep the peace, but it was clear that all they wanted was chaos. As she looked around, Roselyn sent her team off in different directions. All of them ran off with their partners and she was left alone. Normally she would have her second in chief with her but he had gotten his leg badly injured a week ago so she was alone. Smoothly, Roselyn made her way up to the balcony, her eyes scanning for anything suspicious. The politician was to be here soon so she needed to find the assassin quickly.

Lennox screamed as he flipped the table, covering her mouth as she sobbed. She looked at the gun pointed at her, "Please don't kill me." She pleaded. She looked at the guy, backing up against the wall as much as possible. "Please." She whispered. She knew it probably didn't matter what she said. She gasped as he stepped closer. "God please don't do this." She cried as she covered her face. Her hands shook because her nervous were going crazy in that moment.

Raine frowned when he heard someone coming, hiding behind the wall. He smirked as he grabbed his hand guns. Raine waited til the person got close, then turned the corner and attacked them. He frowned when he realized it was a girl. He pointed the gun at her head, "Don't fucking move." He whispered to her. He glanced around before he looked back at her, keeping her pinned. "Don't open your mouth." He said as he began to tie her up. He taped her mouth shut and put her against the wall. "Stay there." He said, opening his metal case. He pulled out his sniper and attached the attachments watching her. "This man has to die for what he has done." He said. He made sure she stayed in his sight as the politician walked in. Raine waited til he talked a bit before he shot the man behind the podium. "Got him." He radioed to his group, "I got a girl up here that we need to get rid of." He explained. He packed up his stuff then moved over to her as everyone escaped the building. Her team had been taken out. "Your team you brought with you isn't very smart." He said as he search her for weapons. He threw her stuff to the side and pushed her hair out of her face. "Sorry you will have to die this way." He said.

Leo was used to the begging and it did not phase him anymore. Though there was something about this girl that interested him, it was probably just her beauty but still he decided to play along. "And what are you going to do for me if I let you live?" He asked as he continued to step forward until the girl was pinned against the wall. Moving his arm out more, Leo pressed his gun against her head. "And with your answer, keep in mind that I can't let you stay here."

Roselyn glared up at the man as she continued to work on the ropes around her arms. She knew how to get out of them, but the tie that he used had taken some time. Just as the man began to touch her hair, Roselyn was able to break out of the rope around her arms. Her legs may still be tied but if she knocked him out, she would have time to get away. Roselyn lurched forward, punching the man in the face before wrapping her hands around his throat to choke him. She was able to get on top of him despite her legs still being bounded. "I am not dying today you asshole!" Roselyn screeched at him, as she slammed his head into the ground. Through all of this movement, her first shirt button popped open, revealing a small tattoo on her collarbone. The tattoo had a small design of a olive branch with the word Protect underneath it, with five stars besides it. The tattoo meant that she was one of the four executive leaders of her group.

Lennox closed her eyes when he pressed the gun against her head, "Anything you want. Please just don't kill me." She manged to stutter out. She opened her eyes, seeing him looking at her through his mask. She could tell that he had no concern for her or her life. That was how all these guys were. They were monsters. "Please let me go." She whispered. The teased rolled down her cheeks as her hands rested on the wall behind her.

Raine groaned as she slammed him on the ground. He caught her hands, flipping them over. He backed handed her across the face and frowned when he seen the tattoo. He ripped her shirt over some more, looking at the tattoo. "Well well well looks like you get to live sweetheart." He said as he headbutted her, knocking her out. He made sure to handcuff her and looked over as his group joined him. "Change of plans, we have a leader of the defending group." He said as he watched them gather his things. He picked her up and moved towards the armored truck. He blindfolded her til they got to the secret warehouse they had. Raine carried her downstairs and tied her up to the chair. "Wakey wakey." He said, throwing some water on her. He pulled her blindfold off and smirked. "How you feeling love?" He asked. He pulled his mask off, knowing she wouldn't be getting away now. A group of guys stood with him.

Leo was quiet as he thought about his options. Many of the other men brought up prizes, and it wouldn't be argued if he were to. As he gripped harder on the trigger of his gun, one of his teammates came in, "Are we leaving or not?" He grumbled, leaning against the door. Leo was quiet for a moment before lowering his gun. "Yeah we are." He said before knocking the girl out. Well she begged and said she would do anything, and Leo was bored. Picking her up, Leo threw her over his shoulder and headed out of the house and went to the base.

Roselyn groaned out as she woke up abruptly, feeling the cold water on her face. Her head was pounding and she found it difficult to open up her eyes. Though once she did, Roselyn saw the men in front of her. While she couldn't remember how she had gotten into this mess, she already knew who the men in front of her were. No other group would benefit from kidnapping. Leaning forward, Roselyn looked down at the ground, hoping to try and fully get her bearings. "God Damnnit. Go fuck off." She groaned. It would have been better for her if they had killed her, because what they were going to do would not be kind. They were going to try and get information that she would never tell them.

Lennox gasped as he hit her, going limp. She began to come to when they got to the base. She groaned, opening her eyes slowly. She frowned when she realized she wasn't in her home anymore. She shook her head, pulling her hands before she realized she was tied up. "What the fuck." She whispered as she pulled on her wrist. She bit her bottom lip when she remembered what happened. Lennox looked around, not seeing anyone. "Hello?" She yelled. She pulled on the rope and frowned when she realized it wasn't budging.

Raine smirked, "Now you shouldn't talk to us like that." He said as he stood up and walked around her. "See I was going to just kill you, but i noticed this." He said, moving her shirt a little to reveal the tattoo. "Unfortunately, now i have to make your life hell." He said. He moved in front of her, "So why don't you start giving us some information. I would hate to ruin that pretty face of yours." He said as he patted her on the cheek. Raine felt a deep hate for this girl. She supported those asshole that were destroying their country.

Leo heard his new little toy speaking as he was walking down the hallway. It had been a few hours now, and he assumed that she would be awake by now. As he walked inside, Leo made sure to close the door behind him. "Hello." He said smoothly as he walked over to her. Once there, Leo leaned down and grabbed her chin, looking closely at her face. Whoever she may be, she was quite pretty and could make a good new toy for him. "Are you still sure you are willing to do anything for your life?" Leo asked as he let go of her chin.

Roselyn sat up once Raine had patted her face. She looked right at him, her eyes burning with fury. "Well since you know what my tattoo means, surely it means you are smart enough to figure out that I won't tell you a thing." Roselyn spat at him. "You might as well just take me out of my misery now, because I am sure death with be better than looking at your ugly mug." Feeling the handcuffs around her wrists, Roselyn knew that there was no way out for her that wouldn't end with her dead or severely torchured. And while she had a small chance of escaping, Roselyn knew it probably wouldn't be for days and who knew what kind of state she would be in by then.

Lennox winced when he grabbed her face, "Yes i'm sure." She whispered. She looked away from him when he let go of her. It was clear he didn't know who her father was just yet. Lennox had ran from her father for a whole first year when things started to implode. She ended up going back to him when things got too bad to be alone. Lennox looked at him, "What are you going to make me do?" She asked him. She knew that pretty much all morals had left after the world went to shit. Hell even she was looting and defending herself from killers when everything was at it worst.

Raine smirked and slapped her hard, "Actually i'm planning to use you as bait to lure your group in and kill them all. A little information out of you will be nice as well." He said as he grabbed her hair and pulled it so she was looking up at him. "You are going to tell me or i am going to let my friend Ricky over there have some fun and beat you to a bloody mess." He threatened. He knew she wouldn't give in though and he was going to have to hurt her to get what he wanted.

Leo leaned against the wall, looking down at the girl. He was not entirely sure what he wanted her to do. It was true that she was pretty, and there was a part of him that just wanted a toy. Though on the other hand, he didn't want to deal with turning her into one. Plus, considering that she was in the politician's house, she could actually be useful. Folding his arms, Leo looked down at her. "Tell me about yourself. What's your name and how are you related to the politician in the house?" He asked her, avoiding her question.

Roselyn scoffed at the man's plan. Her group knew better than to come and get here. It was something they have agreed upon when the group started, never get the hostage. Everyone knew the rule and it was unlikely they would break it for her. When he pulled her hair up, Roselyn winced. Though he did stare right at him as he spoke. For her, it wasn't a choice. She was going to be black and blue by the end of it. But she might as well try and get her payback in small ways. Roselyn spit in his face.

Lennox stared at him, not wanting to tell him who her dad was. She shook her head, "Please don't kill me." She whispered. "My name is Lennox." She explained, "I'm Marcus Essex daughter." She said, looking away from him. Of course she knew her father was now dead. She wasn't as upset as she thought she would be about it. Lennox looked at the guy in front of her, "Am i aloud to know your name?" She asked. She figured if he was going to kill her it really didn't matter.

Raine glared as her as he let her go, laughing softly. He looked at her, punching her roughly. "Don't fucking do that again!" He yelled at her. "Ricky take care of her." He said, walking away from her. He crossed his arms, watching as his friend beat her. He waited til he thought she was hurt enough, "Enough!" He yelled. He walked over to her, "Remembering any details you'd like to share yet?" He asked.

Leo raised his eyebrows in surprise. Now that was something he was not expecting. Though it was also something that he might be able to use to his advantage. Marcus Essex was a rather powerful politician, and while Lennox's family was dead, she still had her father's name. This meant that some may be willing to listen to her, and other politicians would be willing to pay for her ransom. "My name is Leo. And you don't seem upset over your father's death."

Roselyn doubled forward, spitting out some blood as she did so. Her head was spinning, and she felt very disorientated. Her face was already turning black and a light shade of purple. But what else was she to do? Roselyn was willing to give up her life for the cause, so why would she put the cause in danger now. In response to the man's question, she shook her head. She would not spill secrets.

Lennox stared at him, "My father wasn't a good man." She said, shaking her head. She looked down at her feet for a moment then looked up at him. It was driving her nuts that he wasn't telling her what he was going to do to her. "What do you want for me?" She asked him. "Are you going to kill me or what?" She asked. She felt like not knowing was worse than knowing. She pulled on the ropes, trying to get them loose. They were so uncomfortable.

Raine watched as everyone left him alone with her. He took his jacket off, "What's your name?" He asked as her as he pulled a chair up in front of her. He sat down, looking her over. He smirked, "You know you are just fighting for the wrong side. There is no stopping us." He explained. "These politicians wouldn't give a shit about you if you weren't their only chance of survival." He told her.

Leo pushed himself off of the wall and walked over to Lennox. "You said that you were willing to do anything in order to live. And since I am giving you the chance to survive, this means that I get to ask for my price whenever I want for whatever I desire." Leo grabbed the ropes that held her and pulled her up to her feet. "Which means I have the leisure to decide what I want from you. So how about you keep that little mouth of yours closed about it until I make up my mind." He then dropped her back on the ground. "I was going to untie you, but I think better of it now." With that Leo left the room.

Roselyn fiddled with her handcuffs as the man began to get comfortable. She didn't know how to get out of them, and Roselyn did not believe that she would. But maybe there was a way to loosen them up so they weren't digging into her skin as much. "Roselyn." She mumbled her answer to his question. As he began to lecture her on politics, Roselyn just shook her head. They had picked their sides, and clearly she was not going to budge on hers so why even bother? "Oh yes, you bring up a excellent point. In that case I totally agree with you and are now more than happy to go around the country killing politicians." Roselyn said sarcastically as she looked up at him. Her speech was soft as she still tried to catch her breath, but it still commanded attention. "Save me the sign up spiel."

Lennox winced as he pulled her up, looking up at him as he spoke. She bit her bottom lip lightly, not saying a word when he told her to quit talking. She gasped as he pushed her back to the ground. She watched as he walked out of the room and groaned as she kicked her feet. She exhaled after having her fit, "Okay Lennox you can do this." She whispered to herself. She managed to get her hands in front of her like she had practiced long ago. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she started to get her hands free. She used her teeth to get the ropes off. She sighed as she pulled her hands apart, rubbing her wrist. Lennox leaned up, undoing the ropes on her legs. She frowned as someone swung the door open, seeing a man that wasn't Leo.

"Hey Leo your little captive has skills." He said, laughing. He smirked as the man joined him, staring at the Lennox. Lennox looked at them slowly pulling her hands away from her ankles. Fuck She thought to herself.

Raine shook his head, "Is that what you think we do all the time?" He asked, chuckling. "Oh sweetie i have been in this game long before this country was in shambles. I'm one of the first people to realize how awful this country government became." He said. He stood up moving around her. He stood behind her, running his fingers through her hair, "The day the capital was bombed...i helped plant those bombs. That was the day our group got the attention it deserved. The day that everyone knew that this was not just threats." He said. He continued to play with her hair, "Then after awhile your little group formed and you just became another thing to destroy." He said.

Leo walked in after his teammate, watching him. "You are right, my little captive does. So get off Rich." He said, hoping that Rich would back off. Leo was not the type to bring in captives and this was the first time he had done so. So he was hoping that Rich would just let it go. The other men didn't care if they shared or not, but Leo did. He had plans for this one and he was not going to let some idiot ruin it.

Roselyn closed her eyes, trying to keep herself calm. She hated the way he touched her, and hated how he spoke so causally about the murder of thousands. Though she did not have the upper hand in this situation. "Your group single handily caused a post apocalyptic nation, where thousands, maybe even millions have died. You have killed more innocent civilians than politicians. Those civilians had to move into pathetic little colonies just to try and survive. And you really call that a success?!"

Lennox watched as the guy left, then looked at Leo. "They were hurting my wrists." She explained. She didn't want him to think she was dumb enough to try to run away. Lennox slowly got to her feet, watching him carefully. Lennox was so confused about how he made it seem like she was his property to his friend. What was this guy going to do to her? Lennox stayed against the wall, not wanting to get closer to Leo.

Raine shrugged, "There is always civilian loss when there is a government overthrow. I do not feel bad about fixing our nation for the better." He said as he moved in front of her. "Soon all those politicians will be dead and we can start all over again. Things will be better." He assured her. "This is for the good of the nation. One day you will see." He explained as he ran his fingers over her cheek.

Leo rolled his eyes at her before walking over and grabbing Lennox by the back of her neck. "You keep pulling shit like that and I won't be the one in charge of you anymore." He said before pushing her out of the room. As she started to walk, Lennox guided her by the back of her neck. They went through a confusing path of hallways before he walked into what was obviously a cafeteria. Considering the time, there was not a lot of people in there. Most were actually eating alone. Leo then pushed her down into a chair. "Stay here." He said roughly before walking away.

Roselyn moved her head back, trying to keep his hands off of her. "Just stop touching me you fucking psycho!" She snapped at him. He had clearly lost all morals, killing so many to get to one goal just was wrong. And she did not want some monster touching her. "Those lives mattered! They mattered more than just some crazy idea that you and your little group has!"

Lennox let out a small whimper when he grabbed the back of her neck. She walked with him and then sat down in the chair he left her in. She could feel the people staring at her. These people were all terrible people. Lennox looked down at her hands, then looked up when Leo returned to her. He was her only chance of surviving this place and she needed to get on his good side.

Raine shook his head, "This group is not little!" He yelled at her. "This group is world wide and this is just the beginning. This nation is nothing compared to what is to come." He said, glaring at her. "Don't think this is something that is going to blow over." He explained. He stepped back, crossing his arms. "You would be smart to do what we ask before you end up like the rest of those people.
