Hell Above

Anya's body had tensed up as he came closer before relaxing as he took a step back. She watched him her own brow furrowed. She sighed running a hand throughout her hair as she watched him. She was weary, but more than anything she was exhausted and her ribs hurt, but she figured they were broken. She heard him and blinked softly and sighed, "Do you know who took me?" She asked him. "I remember a little bit. I got home and was immediately attacked. I didn't see any of my alarms go off, but it was dark and someone came up from behind me. I hit them with a vase and then I don't remember much except him stepping on my chest." She muttered running a hand over her face for a second before looking up at him wincing at her nose.

"I do not know who took you. After I knocked all of the men unconscious, my goal was to bring you back here, not to figure out why it happened. I had hoped that you would have some idea on why they kidnapped you and beat you up so poorly. Did they not ask for anything? Ask you any questions? Your house was completely unsearch so I can not believe that they were looking for something specific from you." Killian told her as he glanced down at the food he had ordered for her. "And I hope that this food is satisfactory. I had tried to make soup but uh..." He shook his head a bit. "I am not sure how good Chinese food is for someone who is ill.'

Anya watched him, trying to see if he was lying or not. She was surprised to hear his response and frowned gently. She sighed trying to remember before biting down on her lip harshly feeling the blood well up and licked it away befoer murmuring, "They only asked about my parents. They simply asked if I knew who killed them." She sighed before running a hand over her face before running it throughout her hair and pushing it away from her face since she had a ton of hair. She looked back up at him and said, "They wanted information." She then frowned. "Were they human?" She asked tilting her head. She blinked looking at the food and waved it off. "I won't be able to get that stuff down. Not for a bit. I need to rest more before I try and eat. My esophogus is badly bruised and swelling from being thrown around like a rag doll. I lost a good chunk of my hair as well." She muttered.

Killian nodded to Anya as he walked up and grabbed the tray of Chinese food. He should have known better than to try and get her something to eat, especially since he knew nothing about human food. Though Killian figured that it was better to have something available than to have her wait around for food while she was hungry. Especially after an attack like that. "Well, when you decide to eat, let me know and I will get you whatever you want." Killian gave her a little nod before taking a few steps back again.

He let out a little sigh. Killian was surprised that there were still people out there that wanted to know what happened to his friends. Who killed them. They were important to the human world, as well as the vampiric. They were part of the few people who had influence to try and bring the vampire and human world together... "They were human." Killian told her softly. "And if people are still trying to find out the truth, you best be careful Anya. There are people who hated your parents. As well as people who loved them."

Anya watched him and gave a small smile trying to be friendly since he had saved her and all. She was still suspicious and was going to keep her guard up at all costs. She nodded hearing him and said, "I'm pretty sure he broke three of my ribs, so eating right now would probably be a bad idea. I've got a concussion and I can barely swallow anything because of my throat." She told him before running a gentle hand throughout her hair frowning as she looked out a window. She thought it was too quiet. She shook her head gently.

Anya heard a sigh, and glanced up at him waiting for his answer. Hearing him she frowned and bit down on her lip. "Why? What were they doing that made them so hated and loved?" She asked. "What did they do that made someone burn down our home." She whispered before shaking off the thought. That was the only thing she actually managed to remember; her house had burned. She sighed, "I haven't done anything, why would they attack me? I haven't even been trying to get information on my parents because the academy forbid it." She frowned clutching at the blanket her knuckles turning white.

Killian looked down at Anya, his eyes filled with sadness. It might be hard for her to understanding, especially considering her how hatred for vampires. Though he wanted her to understand, for her parents. He wanted to do right by all of them. Wanted Anya to follow in their footsteps, or at least respect what they had been trying to do. However, he was unsure if that would happen. After all, she had grown up to hate and kill his kind. That would take time and energy to undo. Things he was willing to do, but was she?

"They were trying to unite the vampire and human species. Try to show that we all can live in harmony. That there is no reason for us to fear and hate each other. Though some people greatly hated this idea. Hated each other. They wanted to try and prove that it couldn't work. That the other species was lesser, more animalistic than their own. Before the night they died, you parents had dealt with many attacks before. They always made it out okay. They knew how to protect themselves. Though just one wrong move..." He sighed. "I don't know exactly how they died that night and I have no evidence on who it was. I have suspicions but I can't be sure. And they do not know that you know nothing."

Anya listened to him wrinkling her nose for a moment before sighing running a hand through her hair and biting down on her lip. "You were there that night. That much I know from my nightmare. I always remember when I'm sleeping. When I wake up I remember fragments but by the time I've calmed myself down i've already forgotten again." She sighed running a hand through her hair once more before pushing it away and wishing she could just cut it all off and not have to deal with it anymore. She looked at him raising an eyebrow, "I don't remember." She muttered. "Yeah, well, I don't know shit. And I haven't been able to know about them because of the academy, so fuck everyone." She grumbled. She shook her head and got up wincing as she did so.

Anya was upset. She was upset because people wanted her dead for something she didn't even know about. She just wanted to feel like she could breathe again. She felt faint at the moment and lightheaded as if she wasn't getting enough oxygen to her brain and felt herself taking more breaths of air trying to get enough to satisfy. She looked around and suddenly felt her world going dizzy. Her body swayed for a moment before starting to fall to the ground her vision going darker.

Once Anya started to sway, Killian set down the tray and quickly moved to her side. And as she blacked out, he grabbed her, stopping her from hitting the ground. Killian then gently picked her up and moved her onto the bed. He wasn't too concerned. He could still hear her heart, feel her breathing. For the most part, from his senses, he was sure that Anya would be okay. Though he needed to try and help her not get so worked up. Needed to try and find a solution for it. Though, for now, he needed to put the chinese away and try to relax a little before she woke up again.

Anya felt cold hands on her skin and tried to mumble something before she blacked out. She woke up a few hours later and blinked, her vision quite blurry from having jsut woken up. She sat up gently trying to look around rubbing at her eyes and hearing thunder go off. She squeaked and hid underneath the blanket hoping no one noticed her squeak. She was terrified of thunder and lightning and didn't want anyone, especially a vampire knowing her one weakness, aside from mortality. She held onto her knees pulling them to her chest and hiding her face in her kneees.

Killian was relaxing as he headed the squeak coming from Anya's room. It seemed that she was awake now. He made his way upstairs without hesitant, wanting to make sure that the young one was okay. Though when he came up, he saw her cowering in fear. While he didn't know from what, he at last knew that no one was here. Was it form a dream? A memory? the storm? It didn't matter what. Slowly he made his way to her, sitting down besides her on the bed as Killian wrapped his arms around her. His hand beginning to rub her back gently.

Anya was trembling from the noise of the thunder and the lightning. She didn't understand why she hated it so much or why it terrified her. Nothing else had ever made her as uncomfortable as the sound of the thunder booming in the distance. She figured it had to do with her repressed memories. She had her hands over her ears as she was curled up into the tightest ball she could muster and felt someone's arms around her and kept her eyes shut tightly not wanting to see the flashing of the lightning coming into the room. She just wanted to disappear at that moment and forget the sounds coming into the room. She felt a hand rubbing her back and just kept where she was shaking her head as she trembled.

Killian continued to rub her back as his free hand moved into one of the drawers. He pulled out a pair of noise canceling headphones and then moved them over Anya's ears. Killian could only assume it as from the storm, by the way she shook and trembled at the noise, and at the lightening. He then moved fully on the bed, pulling Anya into his lap. His arms wrapped around her tightly, his chin resting against her head as he slowly started to rock her, wanting to calm Anya as much as he could. Killian hoped that this was helping.

Anya felt a pair of headphones go over her ears and blinked seeing as she couldn't hear anything and relaxed slightly before shutting her eyes to avoid seeing the lightning and becoming more frightened. She felt her body pulled easily onto his lap and looked up seeing him before having to shut her eyes again seeing lightning. SHe whispered what she thought was a thank you and just tried to ignore the storm that was going on outside and mumbled a small prayer to herself. It wasn't to God, it was more like just a prayer to pray.

Killian closed his eyes and relaxed against the headboard as the storm continued to move through. They didn't bother him. In fact, Killian normally found them rather peaceful. So as he listened to the sounds of thunder and the rain hitting the window, he continued to care for Anya. His hands rubbing her back, moving into her hair slowly but carefully. Pulling her in a little closer to him, rocking her, just trying to comfort Anya as best as he could. It was a while later that the storm finally broke. At which point, Killian pulled back one of the headphones. He looked down at her and whispered. "Are you okay dear?" He whispered.

Anya just kept her eyes shut not wanting to open them for a moment knowing if she saw the flashes she'd just start crying for no reason. She felt a headphone come off and looked up and nodded, before murmuring, "For some reason, as long as I can remember, i've been terrified of thunder and lightning. I get flashbacks but then I can't remember them. Same with my nightmares." She whispered her eyes hollow from the many things that swirled around in her head at the moment. She shook it away before pulling away gently and mumbling, "I'm fine."

Killian wanted to pull her back in, not wanting to let her go. Both because Killian had enjoyed holding her, but also because he didn't want to leave her alone when she still needed someone with her. Someone to keep her safe and comfortable. He let out a small sigh before pulling her back a little. Killian leaned down, resting her forehead against hers for a moment, his eyes closed, any breath unnoticeable. This was the easiest way to notice her heartbeat, to try to figure out how she was feeling - and if she was lying or not. "Are you fine?" Killian whispered to her. "And do you really want me to let go?"

Anya blinked as he pulled her back and her face flushed from having someone this close to her, forgetting for a moment that he was indeed a vampire. Hearing his question, her eyes widened but her eyes got sad before murmuring, "No. I never will be." Hearing his next question, she sighed and said, "Yes. I want to shower." She was telling the truth. She just wanted to shower and try to forget her panic and everything that was clouding her mind and making clarity impossible at the moment. She needed something tangible to focus on. She didn't want to focus on this shit anymore. She just needed some time alone so she could think instead of just sleep or be watched, knowing he just meant to care, but she didn't understand at all.

Killian stayed right where he was for a moment or so after Anya had answered his questions. Though he quickly determined that he was satisfied with her answers. They were truthful, and Killian was sure that a shower would help. Maybe calm her down, but at least get the blood and tears off of her body. Killian slid off of the bed, getting onto his feet. He then went into a drawer, pulling out a towel and a different set of clothes for her. After all these years, things just kinda collected. The clothes he pulled out were older, though they should fit her well enough. "If you need anything, just call." He said before heading out of the room.

Anya just wanted to be alone at the moment and get her head as straight as she could with a severe concussion. She knew for a fact that she wasn't going to be able to make rational decisions at the moment since she did have some damage. She felt him get off the bed and watched with her tired emerald gaze as he did so. She nodded and pulled the clothes close to her chest and nodded her head. "Thank you." She murmured when he left. She went into the bathroom that was connected to her room and opened the door before closing it and turning the warm water on. She stepped into the stream of running water and closed her eyes feeling the water wash over her. She let her head fall onto the wall as she let it wash over her shoulders and head and body. She bit her lip to keep a sob in.

Killian made his way through his home, not quite sure what to do at this point. He had the daughter of his former friends upstairs. And she was currently injured, and, unfortunately, a vampire hunter. She was probably also being hunted down by whoever had kidnapped her in the first place. And on top of that, while things were friendly now, Killian was sure that she still hated his guts. What was he going to do about her and her situation? Killian wanted to help but forcing his way in seemed unadvisable. He shook his head a bit. Maybe he could continue on with work while she was here, keep an eye on her at the least.
