With a small sigh, Lillian leaned back into the booth that she was in. Turning her head, she glanced out of the VIP section and looked down at the bodies grinding against each other. If it wasn't for her friend's birthday (Charlotte) she certainly would not have gone clubbing tonight. Sure, it was a fun thing to do, but they were in a new country and it was their first night there. So why weren't they going out to see the town! Though Lillian supposed that they did have a couple of weeks to go night seeing. And if her friend didn't want to go with her, it wasn't like Lillian wouldn't be able to convince a local to bring her around.

Just as she was about to take another drink of her cocktail, Charlotte came back and tugged onto Lillian's arm. With a little begging, Lillian found herself heading out of the VIP section and right into the sweat and craziness of it all. Charlotte brought them right into the middle of the madness and started to dance to the beat of the music and the shaking of the club. With Lillian following suit, it didn't take them long to start attracting a few of the single men who then tried to dance up on them.

  • Marc had been alarmed when the order was first given to him - Lillian Kennedy was going to be visiting Rome and this was the sort of once in a lifetime opportunity. Lillian's grandfather must not have thought very hard about allowing his granddaughter to visit without any sort of offered protection. He hadn't been able to believe it when he first was told about it and yet, here he stood in a local club, a drink in hand as he wove through the crowds, looking specifically for one gorgeous brunette.

Sound sparked from the VIP area and he looked over, his eyes narrowing a bit, and he let out an inaudible sigh of relief when he took another step closer and he caught sight of Lillian. All he was running on was a few pictures he'd been given and now it was time to put his Italian charm to use.

He cleared his throat as he made his way over to her, flashing an easy smile. "Hey sweetheart, I don't think I've seen you around before. What's your name? I'm Marcello but you can call me Marc."

Lillian turned to the man when he started to speak. At first she was going to blow him off but the moment she looked at him, she started to smile. Now he was drop dead gorgeous. Plus it didn't hurt that his accent was so smooth. Lillian leaned in closer to him, in order to hear him over the loud music. When she responded, Lillian turned her head and spoke into his ear. "I am from England, so you wouldn't have seen me here before. And my name is Lillian." She pulled back and smiled up at him. Maybe she could convince Marc to show her around tomorrow...

Charlotte, Lillian's friend, turned to see the two of them talking. Immediately seeing the signs that Lillian was interested in him, she made sure to make herself a bit scarce as to not get in the way.

  • There had been the off chance that Marcello had been wrong about the girl that he had approached but the confirmation was given the moment that Lillian introduced herself. He had to force down the smirk on his lips as he nodded, offering his hand for her to shake. He raised it a bit, his eyes trained on hers as he leaned down, pressing his lips to her knuckles before pulling away to drop her hand. "I hope that I'm not overstepping, Lillian, but your eyes are breathtaking."

Marc stepped backward, motioning toward the bar in hopes that Lillian would join him. "Can I buy you a drink? A pretty lady like yourself should never go without one in hand," he commented with a small grin. "If that's okay with you."

Lillian smirked a bit when he mentioned her eyes. She knew that they were beautiful, and she did love it when others commented on them. "Thank you, Marc. And you are not overstepping at all, since I would love a drink." As he started to move, Lillian did the same. There was no harm in letting Marc buy her a drink at the bar. She leaned forward, telling the bartender what type of drink she wanted before turning back to Marc. Her eyes landed on his tattoos before moving back up to his eyes. She could only see a few but it looked like he had sleeves. "Can you tell me what your tattoos mean." Lillian asked before lightly taking his hand and pointing to the triangle shaped one on his finger. "How about this one?" While she loved tattoos, she didn't care much about their meaning. But this was a way for her to touch him.

  • Marc settled a hand on her lower back as he led the way over to the bar. He raised his glass to indicate another drink for himself, that had no alcohol in it because he needed to focus on what he was doing tonight. He grinned as he turned back to Lillian, only to notice that she was already watching him. Perfect.

His eyes darted down to the small tattoo that Lillian pointed to and Marc let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head. "It's nothing special. Just a symbol that a few friends and I decided to get tattooed one day as a friendship thing," he answered with a shrug of his shoulders. If Lillian had been smart enough, she would have known exactly what it meant and why she should run from him but she seemed oblivious which just was making his job even easier.

"What brings you all the way to Italy?" He asked after a moment, lifting his drink to his mouth, taking a long swig of it.

Lillian lightly trailed her fingers down Marc's hand as he spoke about his tattoo. "Well that is a bit of an odd symbol for you and all of your friends to get. I mean, if it didn't mean anything to you beforehand. But it does look lovely." Her fingers moved off of him as she reached over to the bar and took her cocktail from the bartender. Lillian took a long sip of her drink before continuing with Marc.

"It is my friend's birthday and she decided that she wanted to go to Italy for it." Immediately, she started to look around the club but was unable to see Charlotte from where she was. "Though it seems that Charlotte has run off." It wasn't unusual for Charlotte to disappear randomly throughout the night, especially if one of them were talking to a cute guy. But it did always make her difficult to find later on...

  • "We know that we can always rely on each other to have our backs - that if one of us struggles, the other two will hold us up," Marc explained quietly, giving a shrug of his shoulders. It was simple to him, it made sense because he had more or less grown up in this life. He'd moved up through the years and now he only answered to one person - the same man who had sent him after precious little Lillian.

Marc glanced around, even more grateful that Lillian's friend had decided to make herself sparse. "Well, I can always escort you home when you decide to leave. Never know what creeps are lurking about and I don't want to see anything bad happen to someone as beautiful as yourself."

Lillian smiled warmly as Marc spoke about his friends. "That sounds really nice. It must be great to have friends like that." Lillian had plenty of friends but none as loyal as his friends. Though It might have to due with the fact that none of her friends had really struggled in life.

She glanced back out to the crowd with a small sigh. "I might have to take you up on that offer. When Charlotte disappears I might now see her for hours. But she always finds her way back home:" Lillian shook her head a bit. "But I should try messaging her first." She said as she pulled out her phone.
    December 10th, 2016 at 11:09pm
  • Marc's smile dropped a bit as he reached forward, setting a hand on Lillian's as he pushed her phone back down. His smile returned when she looked back up to him. "Let me escort you home, Lillian. I'm sure your friend is fine and she's probably found herself a guy to flirt with," Marc paused, his tongue darting out to wet his lips as he leaned forward. "Maybe even kiss a couple times before bed?"

Clearing his throat, Marc straightened. He looked down to her with a raised eyebrow as he motioned toward the front door. He set his glass down and produced his wallet, dropping enough money onto the bar to cover both his and her tab. Turning back to her, Marc smiled. "My car is parked just outside so you don't have to walk if you don't want."

Lillian hesitated before following Marc out of the bar. While she didn't want to ditch Charlotte, Marc was right about her having found a guy to be with. Charlotte always seemed to know what she wanted and when she did, she just went for it. "Well I am sure that you are right. Plus if she did find someone, she would never message me back." Lillian let out a small sigh as she followed him to the parking lot. "And my hotel is too far from here for us to be able to walk. Though I know how to get there from here." She smiled warmly at him. Marc was just so friendly. Plus something about him just screamed trustworthy. Besides she had had strangers bring her home before so it was no big deal.
    December 11th, 2016 at 04:31am
  • Marc led the way over to his car, helping Lillian inside before he walked around the front and climbed in the driver's seat. When she mentioned the name of her hotel, Marc nodded before pulling away from the side of road. He followed the first few turns that she directed him to before turning left when Lillian said to go right. Glancing over to her, Marc gave a shrug of his shoulders as he began to pick up some speed.

"I know a short cut," Marc answered as he leaned forward, turning up the music a bit. He settled back into his seat, carefully setting the master locks so that she wouldn't notice. "Besides, the night is still young. No reason we can't just enjoy a drive, is there?"

Lillian gripped onto the seat as Marc started to drive much faster. She gave him an uneasy smile as she suddenly felt uncomfortable about how this drive was going. "I suppose not." Lillian told him. "Though it would be nice to go back to the hotel. I am sure that there is something that we can do there." While she did not think that Marc had any ill intentions, she definitely did not like going onto sudden car drives. "Uh Marc, do you think you can slow down a bit?"
    December 11th, 2016 at 04:53am
  • Marc continued to wind down increasingly deserted roads until he was completely in the country, his jaw locked as he began to slow. It wasn't until he pulled up to a large home on the side of a cliff, outside of the city limits that he finally turned around to face her. All the smiles and happiness was completely gone from his expression as he turned the engine off. He slipped the key into his pocket, his eyes trained on Lillian.

"I'm only going to say this once, Lillian. Tonight, and the days to come, can go one way or another. We can either go inside and talk if you're cooperative or I can drag you in by your hair and lock you in the basement. Make a decision, we don't have all day to sit around while you debate, girl," Marc's voice took a hard edge as he leaned toward her. "Now."

Lillian heart stopped when Marc's temperament suddenly changed. She sunk into the car chair a bit when Marc leaned towards her. It didn't take her long to decide which path was best for her. Quickly, Lillian swung forward and pushed Marc in the face. Though when she turned to get out of the car, she discovered that the door was unlockable. Quickly she crawled into the back and tried the left side for, praying that it would let her out. Though when it didn't, Lillian started to pound on the window, thinking maybe she could break it. Her heart was beating so quickly it felt like it would burst out of her chest.
    December 11th, 2016 at 05:24am
  • Marc jolted backward more in surprise than anything when Lillian punched him. His brows knitted together as he watched her, blinking slowly. He waited until she had stopped banging on the window, rolling his eyes as he fixed his gaze on her reflection in the rearview mirror. "You done yet, sweetheart?" Huffing, Marc climbed out and slammed his door shut before stepping to the rear door to pull it open. He wasted no time in leaning forward, wrapping his fingers in her hair and dragging her out. Locking the car behind them, Marc pulled her into the house before throwing her down onto the floor. "Shoes off. In the corner by the door, I don't like people tracking dirt around my house," his voice was void of emotion as he motioned toward the living room. "Sit. Now."

Tears were collecting in the corners of Lillian's eyes by the time that Marc threw her down on the ground. Though when he barked his orders, she was quick to respond, not wanting him to hurt her. After taking her shoes off, Lillian hightailed it over to the living room and sat down on one of the couches. Once she got over there, Lillian looked straight at the ground and her body was shaking with fear. This was it for her. The men who had gotten her parents were probably coming back for her. She gripped onto her dress as tears started to run down her cheeks.

  • Marc scoffed as he watched her scramble into the living room as he slipped his feet into his slippers that he kept by the door. He followed after her, sitting in the chair that was opposite of Lillian. His eyes remained trained on her for a long moment before he decided to finally speak. He cleared his throat, resting his elbows on his knees as he watched her. "Your grandfather should have been more careful, Lillian. If he had been, you may not have been in this situation. You can only blame him for this," he started, a sick sort of smirk settling onto his features. "If you listen and you behave, you'll learn to enjoy your time here. If not..." he trailed off, shrugging his shoulders. "All the more fun for me then."

Lillian looked up at him for a moment before quickly looking down again. She hated the sick look on his face. "P-please." Her voice shook. "I am not responsible for my grandfather's actions. I have no control over what he does. And I have no claim or stake in what the corporation does either. Please let me go. I have done nothing wrong." Lillian closed her eyes tightly before letting out a small sniffle. She had no idea what to do besides ask Marc to let her go. It was true that her grandfather controlled chaos and tended to piss people off. But she had nothing to do with his business! After her parents had died she had wanted nothing to do with it.
