The Kids Aren't Alright | Closed.

Rae nodded her head. "Okay," she sniffled, holding her arms out towards Elizabeth.

Matt scooped some ice cream into a bowl, smiling at Luna. "Thanks, sweetie," he murmured. He took some chocolate sauce out of the fridge and poured some onto the ice cream before opening the bag of gummy bears and sprinkling a few on top. "What else does your sister like?"

"I'm so sorry Rae," Elizabeth sniffled. "I should have been paying better attention."

"She likes Oreos," Luna answered.

Rae frowned. "Not your fault, mama," she said.

"Oreos," Matt said, walking to the pantry. He took out the pack of Oreos and crushed a few up, putting them into the bowl. "Anything else?" He looked around the kitchen, thinking of anything else he could put in there.

"I should have been paying better attention," Elizabeth insisted. "I should know better." She wiped away a few tears that fell down her face, quietly thanking the nurse when she handed her the script for the antibiotics. She have the nurse her billing information and carried Rae to the car, knowing everyone was going to be pissed at her.

"Chocolate syrup," Luna exclaimed.

Rae hugged her tightly. "I'm okay, Mama," she murmured.

Matt laughed, pouring more chocolate syrup on the ice cream. "Alright. We'll put this in the freezer and surprise her when she gets home," he said, grinning at Luna. He put the bowl in the freezer before he continued to make the macaroni. He took the chicken nuggets out of the oven when he smelled them starting to burn, cursing quietly.

"How does some ice cream sound when we get home," Elizabeth asked.

Luna giggled when her father sore. "You said a bad word daddy."

Rae smiled. "Okay," she murmured.

Matt looked at Luna. "I'm sorry," he said.

"Please don't be mad at me Rae," Elizabeth sniffled.

Luna giggled again. "Daddy potty mouth."

"I'm not," Rae insisted. She reached up and wiped Elizabeth's tears away. "Don't cry, mama."

"Don't tell your mom, she'll be mad at me," Matt said, at least glad that Luna wasn't repeating what he'd said. Then he'd really be in trouble.

"I never wanted you to get hurt," Elizabeth sniffled. "I never want you to get hurt because of me."

"I promise," Luna promised.

"I better now," Rae said.

Matt smiled. "Thank you," he murmured. He leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"I love you and your sister so much Rae," Elizabeth stated. "You both make me so happy."

"I love you daddy potty month," she teased.

"Love you too, Mama," Rae murmured.

Matt looked down at Luna. "Sh," he whispered. "It's a secret, remember?"

Elizabeth dropped the prescription off at the pharmacy, quietly driving home with tears silently falling down her face. When they got home she carried Rae inside, confused when she heard her three year old running around giggling and saying daddy potty mouth.

"Daddy potty mouth," Luna giggled. She saw her mom and grinned, running over to her and hugged her leg. "Rae okay?"

Rae giggled slightly at Luna. "I'm okay," she said.

Matt groaned, walking into the living room. "Luna, stop that," he said.

Elizabeth set Rae down, smiling when Luna hugged her sister tightly. The brunette made sure the girls were okay before she went into the kitchen to check on lunch.

"The chicken nuggets burned a little," Matt said.

Rae smiled at Luna and hugged her back before taking her hand and pulling her into the kitchen.

Elizabeth glared at the cheese grater when she walked into the kitchen, quickly picking it up and tossed it in the trash. She wiped a few tear away that fell down her face and went over to the stove and began finishing up the Mac n cheese.

Matt frowned when Liz threw the cheese grater away. He walked up behind her, gently touching her arm. "You okay, Lizzie?" he murmured.

"No I'm not," Elizabeth snapped. "I just had to take my daughter to the hospital to get stitches because of a fucking cheese grater and now you and everyone else are going to be pissed at me." She felt more tears fall down her face, trying to wipe them away quickly they fell down her face.
