The Kids Aren't Alright | Closed.

Matt frowned. “Do you want to go to the hospital?” he asked.

"I don't know yet," Elizabeth admitted. "Maybe in a couple hours."

Matt nodded. “Okay,” he mumbled. “I’m gonna go check on the girls.”

Elizabeth finished showering, tears falling down her face when she began towel drying her body and saw the bruises on her arms and the bite mark on her neck. She quickly covered her arms with towel, walking into their bedroom and slid on a long sleeved pajama top and moved all her hair to the left side of her neck to hide the bite mark. The brunette sat down on her bed, running her hand over her stomach and sniffled. "Please stay," she whimpered. "Mommy loves you so much."

Matt helped the girls clean up, washing each of their hair before he got them out and wrapped towels around them.

"Is mommy okay," Luna asked.

“She’s okay,” Matt said reassuringly, smiling at her. “Dry off, and then you can get dressed and I’ll brush your hair.”

"Can mommy braid my hair," Rae asked.

"Me too," Luna exclaimed.

“We’ll have to ask her,” Matt said. He helped them dry off before leading them to their room. He picked pajamas out for them and waited for them and helped Luna get dressed before following the girls into the master bedroom. “Mommy? Can you braid their hair?”

Elizabeth quickly wiped her tears from her eyes and nodded. "Yeah," she smiled. "They just need to grab all their hair stuff so I can."

Matt nodded. “Go get your stuff,” he told the girls before walking over to Elizabeth. He sat next to her on the bed and reached up to gently touch her cheek. “It’s gonna be okay.”

"You didn't get to enjoy my pregnancy with Luna," she sniffled. "If I lose this baby I'll hate myself."

“Whatever happens, happens,” Matt said. “I won’t hate you and you shouldn’t hate yourself. You didn’t do anything wrong.”

Elizabeth clenched her eyes shut tightly, knowing Matt was wrong but knew she couldn't tell him that.

“It was my own fault that I wasn’t here for Luna,” Matt said. “I still regret it to this day.” He sighed, pressing his forehead against hers. “We won’t lose it, okay? Everything is going to be okay.”

Rae climbed onto the bed, helping Luna get up along with the bag of their hair stuff. Luna pressed her head against her mom's stomach and smiled. "Hi Star," she exclaimed.

Matt smiled, chuckling softly. “Be easy, Lulu,” he said.

Luna lifted up her mom's shirt and pressed a kiss to her belly before she sat in her lap. Rae handed her mom the brush and Elizabeth quietly began braiding Luna's hair.

Matt smiled as he watched Luna, loving how much the girls loved their mom.

Elizabeth quietly began humming a Beatles song as she braided Luna's hair, hoping that since she hasn't already miscarried Star she wouldn't.
