Something Changed

"Can you take abstract art instead? My favorite painting is Starry Night. But not the one everyone knows with the mountains in the back, the one over the water. I like that one." She smiled a little.

"The gym I go to has a nutritionist so I usually eat there if I can," He smiled a little as he ate. "I can make great ramen though, that's one of the things I make pretty well."

He nodded a little, "I planned on it," he said to her as he sighed, "But this is a required course,"

She smiled a little as she looked at him, "I make good ramen as well, if I have everything I need it's enough to feed me for an entire day which is why I try to keep stocked up," she spoke as she took a bite of the noodles then grabbed a piece of bread.

She smiled a little and sighed, pulling her knees up to her chest. "Can I ask you something though? Why are you putting up with me? I sorta pushed my way into your life, you didn't have to let me. Don't I bother you?"

He smiled. "I didn't make any dessert, I hope you don't mind. I can't bake, so I just left it alone." He said sheepishly. "You should show me your recipe, it might be better than mine."

He shrugged, "You're not doing anything to get me caught so I don't really care, no ones ever wanted to see my art though," he said to her as he wet his lips.

She laughed, "It's totally fine, I am trying to stay away from sweets at the moment," she admitted as she looked at him then pushed a hand through her hair. Hayden picked up a napkin and leaned over to wipe his mouth then laughed, "Sorry that was weird," she murmured her cheeks flushing.

She shrugged. "I'm pretty different from you, I thought you'd hate the idea of me being around." She sighed. "It took me a while to come up and talk to you, I thought you'd tell me no at first."

His face burned crimson and he ducked his head. "It's okay... I didn't realize I had food in my face," He said, stuttering slightly. He smiled to himself but stared down, his ears red as he tried to hide his face.

Hayden felt herself melting on the inside; how was someone as handsome and big as he was so shy? It was as if the skies had opened up and dropped him down just for her, she took a drink of her wine then smiled. "So once we're done eating what should we do?" she asked hi, "Maybe we could go for a walk or something?"

He shrugged,"I had no real reason to say no, you're the only person in school besides the new kid to talk to me,"

She shrugged. "Now that Ive spoken to you I don't see why people don't. You're really cool, you just look like trouble." She murmured. "But you're a nice guy, and talented too. I think if the right people saw your art they would be really interested in it."

"A walk sounds nice," He smiled, his ears still very red. "there's a park nearby if you want?"

She nodded,"Sure that sounds like a good plan," she said to him as she sat back in her chair then sighed, "I'm so full," she murmured as she picked up her plate and took it to the kitchen, "Are you done? I'll wash dishes,"

He shrugged,"Guess people like to play it safe," he snorted as he laughed a little.

"You don't have to, I'll do them once I come back," He smiled a little, standing up and walking over to the kitchen. He brought the spaghetti and covered it, shoving it into the refrigerator. "We can go when you're ready."

She smiled a little. "That's boring," She sighed, pulling the mask from around her ears. "How long do they normally hang around? I want to take a picture of what you did," She said, listening to see if she heard anything. "Would you need a ride home? We might have to pas them to get to my car though. And I don't want you to get caught."

She smiled a little as she looked at him, "Are you sure? You cooked I'll feel bad having you wash them too," she sad as she turned to look at him

He shrugged,"We can get past them easily, the inside of your sweater is a dfferent color - so is mine, we'll turn them out and I'll give you a piggy back; we'll look like a couple out after dark, not criminals dressed in black,"

She nodded a little. "Okay, let's do that," She said, standing up and dusting off. She pulled off the sweater and flipped it to the pink side, pulling it over her head and fixing her hair. "Okay, I'm ready."

"I don't mind," He smiled a little. "If you would like to help you can but you don't have to," He said to her. "We can go to the park after. There's a little cafe down by there too, they have dessert."

He did the same and ran a hand through his hair then pulled peeked out of the closet and grabbed her hand dragging her out the back, "Masks in the trash," he told her tossiing his to the side, "Hop on,," he said, "Lay your head on my shoulder,"

She smiled a little as she looked at him, "I'll do them when we get back but only because dessert sounds tempting," she said to him and grabbed her purse then looked at him before grabbing his hand in her own.

She nodded a little. "What about your respirator? Give it to me," She said, taking it and shoving it down the front of her sweater. She adjusted it so it was hidden by her bra and sighed. "Can you see it?"

His ears turned red but he smiled, following her out. He grabbed his wallet and keys, closing the door behind them. "Its close by, about 10 minutes away."

She nodded a little,"Alright, thats not too bad of a walk," she said as she looked at him then pushed a hand through her hair.

He shook his head a little,"Nope, now hop on," he said motioning to his back, "Where is your car?"

"In the parking lot of the pizza place," She said, climbing onto his back and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Where do you want to go once we get to your car?"

He smiled a little as they walked. "I'm happy you came, I'm glad my niece made this happen."

Hayden nodded a little,"Me too - tonight is fun, I needed to get out, " she said to him laughing a little, "And you're really sweet and really adorable/handsome," she said as she walked with him.

He shrugged,"I don't know, burgers? I know a place," he said to her as he licked his lips, "And it sounds good,"

She nodded a little, laying her head onto his shoulder and smiling. "I'm ready," She said, holding onto him.

"Oh," He said softly, smiling a little and looking down. "Thank you. I think you're pretty too," He smiled a little. "At the cafe they have a good cheesecake if you like them."

He started walking towards the direction of her car and made sure to look like he wasn't nervous - he didn't want her to get in trouble. He didn't care about himself, he just wanted her to be okay. As they walked past the police car parked across the street his kept his eyes forward then sighed once they were in the clear, "We're almost there,"

She smiled a little as she walked with him, "That sounds good to me," she said to him as she laced her fingers with his and kind of leaned into his arm as they walked. "Don't fucking move, givee me all your shit," a man said from behind her and he grabbed her arm rippng her from Hyungwoo and making her gasp in panic as she looked at him.

"I said.. give. me . your . shit!"

She smiled a little as they walked, pretending to look as coupley as possible. She saw the car and leaned against him. "Burgers sound great, also you should come over later," She said, loud enough that they would overhear her.

He felt her behind pulled from him and turned, looking at the guy. He looked at Hayden and quickly saw how he could get her away from him. "Hayden, duck," He said, lifting his leg and kicking the man in the shoulder and pulling her behind him once the mans grip on her slipped. He grabbed him and threw him to the ground, turning to look at Hayden. "You're alright?" He said, turning to look back at the man.

"Good because I've had a craving for grease ever since we left Jisoo's she always makes the worst food - how can you even like her," he said with a snort as he shifted to hold her higher on his back, "this place has great food,"

She was shaken but nodded a little ad she fumbled with her phone to call the cops then sniffled a little as she spoke to the operator letting them know where they were, "Are you okay?" she asked him softly, she hear police officers coming their way and looked up.
