Treading The Unknown

"Why'd you leave?" she asked him as she felt the tears fall, "You were all I had?" she cried and hiccuped and she wiped her eyes with the sleeve on her sweater.

"I didn't leave, I wanted to be here," He said to her. "I wanted to come around until you flipped out over a hickey and when I tried to be there again, you were with Jaehyun all the time. Rowan couldn't bear to be with her old friends, so she seeked me out because she'd been a wreck for weeks after."

"Oh thats crap, you asked if I needed help and I accepted your help a couple times but I didn't need help otherwise it didn't mean you couldn't hang out," she said to him as she wiped her eyes.. "but my feelings ruined everything,"

"I wanted to be there for you and Jenny." He said softly. "I thought we both had an understanding, it was just sex. But of course I cared, I wanted to help because your sister did a shitty thing to you."

"It was just sex..for a while," she murmured softly as she picked Jenny up and grabbed a bottle from the diaper bag. "It really was," she spoke honestly, "but then...something changed for me and I fought it... for a long time but then you came around less and less - then the hickie I just - lost it, I was angry.. mostly at myself for getting so close," she muttered quietly.

"I distanced myself because I thought it was the right thing to do, but you started spenidng time with Jaehyun and I didn't understand why." He said to her. "I thought maybe you didn't want my help anymore."

Lily looked at him,"I'm not with Jaehyun, he's a friend nothing more," she said as she looked at him then sighed, "You don't want the things I want though, I have a lot of baggage ,"

"It's not the baggage thats the problem," He said t her. "Its the relationshop itself." He explained. "We would end up like Rowan and Jaehyun, and I don't think you want that."

"You dont even want to try," she murmured softly and sighed a little, "but I'm not pushing anything; if you don't want me fine,I'm content being just me and her for as long as it has to be," she murmured softly as she let out a deep breath.

He sighed. "I can't give you what you want right now, and I'm sorry for it." He said softly. "I just can't do it."

Lily nodded a little then closed her eyes as she sat on the bench feeding Jenny, "Okay," she murmured softly as she looked at the ground.

He sighed a little. "I'm going to go, I'll see you around." He said, sighing a little. "Let me know if you need my help. I mean it,"

Lily nodded a little as she chewed on her bottom lip then sniffled, "I will" she murmured and wiped her eyes.

Rowan was lost in the house, there were people everywhere and she made the mistake of going to this party alone. She had long since lost the one familiar face she knew, and spent the rest of the time floating around and trying to avoid getting swallowed up by the crowd.

Yuta knocked on the door to her apartnemt, carrying take out. He hoped she'd let him in, he wanted to see her.

Lily opened the door her phone under her ear, Jenny was crying and the timer for the oven was going off. "Shit, sorry come in," she said to him as she tried to get her to calm down.

Jaehyun walked into the house he had a twizzler hanging out of his mouth he'd been craving them all week so he indulged. He waved to a few people who knew him.

Rowan sighed, sitting upstairs in a room by herself. She was a little drunk, but she realized when she walked into the party that she kind of hated them.

He watched for a second before walking over and taking Jenny into his arms. "Everything alright here?" He asked curiously.

"I just the lawyer called, just give me a few minutes," she said to him and ran to the kitchen to turn off the timer cursing when the cookies were burnt. "Sorry Mr. Meyer I'm all yours," she laughed as she walked back into her bedroom. After she got off the phone she walked back in, "My sister hasn't replied to the court call so, I have a court day in two weeks and there I will be appointed full custody,"

After being down there for a while his head began to hurt so he walked room to room trying to find an empty one, "oh so -rowan?" he said furrowing his brow, "I thoughtr you were going to the rave instead?" he asked.

"Drugs aren't really my thing," She said softly. She looked down at her hands, sighing a bit. "What are you doing here, you hate parties."

He nodded a little. "I see. Well, I brought takeout in case you hadn't eaten," He said softly.

"A friend asked me to come but i was trying to find some where quiet cause im getting a headache" he smiled a little, "you're sober? You feeling okay?" he asked her.

"Thank you," she said lightly as she looked at him, "I felt like a chicken with its head cut off," she admitted quietly.

"I'm not sure, I think I'm sober. I drank earlier but I stopped," She sighed. "You, aren't you with your girlfriend?" She asked him. "I guess I'm happy for you,"

"I can see," He sighed. "Don't worry. I'll help you from here," He said, taking the phone away from her and carrying Jenny into the kitchen. "You eat, I'll feed her."
