Of Our Fates

He looked at her and smiled a bit, "Hm, a little but I also came to see you," he said to her lightly as he looked at her, "We're having a dinner at my home tonight, with my sister and mother - I was wondering if you'd like to come," he asked her.

Lily sighed as she finished mending the clothes after she'd washed them then began to cook dinner, she'd gotten into the habit of a routine.

She smiled a little. "I would like that," She said, before walking out of the house and smiling a little. "What kind of fruits would you like today?" She asked curiously. "My father actually began a new crop a bit ago, they should be about ready. They're pineapples, would you like to try one? The seeds were imported, from I know not where."

Jinyoung walked into the room. "If we consummate, will you become pregnant immediately?" He asked curiously. "I'm sick of my mother badgering me."

"Probably not immediately," she said to him sighing a little as she set the sewing needle down, "It could take a while, I've just finished my bleeding so I don't know... how soon I'll be able to conceive," she admitted to him lightly. It's nice to know when it inconvenienced him he was all for it.

He nodded, "Sure, I'd love to try some. I've never heard of such a fruit, does it come from a pine tree?" he asked curiously. "Who knew they could grow their own apples," he murmured.

"No, they grow from underground, they're very sweet, I think my new favorite," She smiled a little, before grabbing his hand and pulling him. "Follow me," She smiled a little, going behind the house and through the fields. "My father's home, but he shouldn't be back here," She explained, going over to the row of pineapples.

He sighed. "When's the best time? Let me know and we can get it over with. Checked by a physicialn too, just to get it taken care of." He said. "So annoying, my parents wont let me be."

A small nod came from her and sighed a little, "Trust me I know," she murmured the pointed to the wicker basket in the corner filled with baby clothes and blankets, "She's been making them non-stop since I arrived," she told him gently.

He smiled a little as he laced his fingers through her own and followed her to the feilds, "He won't shoot me will he?"

She grabbed one of the knives and a small shovel, stopping once they got there and squatting. "Do you run quickly?" She smiled a little, digging one out and dropping the shovel. "I suppose you'll need to meet him soon, since you plan to marry me." She explained, dipping the fruit into a bucket of water and rinsing it off. "We can go eat it over here."

He sighed. "I want this over with, so sooner rather than later," He murmured, shaking his head. "Tell me when the best time is so we can do it and be finished with it."

"If you're too stressed over it then you might not even be able to perform try not to worry to much," she said to him as she wet her lips a little.

He laughed a little, "I think I can run pretty quickly," he said as he looked at her, "It looks quite strange are yu sure it's not poisonous,"

She smiled a little, slicing the top and side off and cutting a small piece. "Here, try," She smiled as she cut another piece and ate it herself. "It's so delicious, I havent tasted something so delicious in such a ling time."

He snorted. "Won't be a problem. Is in a few days okay? A week?" He asked.

She nodded, "Probably, I'll talk with the midwife today," she said to him as she finished drinking her tea.

He took a piece of the fruit and bit into it, "It's so tart," he murmured lightly, "IT'd be good in a drink,"

She smiled a little and ate some more. "I like it," She said, chopping the rest of it. "The base, sides, core, and top all go into fertilizing the ground again," She explained, eating more and smiling. "Maybe you can come by for dinner, introduce yourself to my father," She murmured.

"Fine. I'm tired of hearing about this," He mumbled. "It's annoying, and that pile of baby clothes seems to get larger each day."

She nodded, "Of course it does," she murmured lightly as she stood, "I'll head into town now so I can speak with her, then I'll let you know,"

He nodded a little,"Of course, I'll come by," he said to her, "Yu sure he wont shoot me?" he asked her curiously.

"I'll hide his gun," She offered, squeezing his hand, finishing the fruit and putting the rest into the fertilizer bin. She rinsed her hands off in the bucket and smiled. "But if he kills you, I don't believe I'll have anyone I'll want to marry."

He nodded. "Quickly, please. I'd like to stop being bothered by them." He murmured, shaking his head. "I dont see why its such a big deal."

"You're their only son, right? The family name needs to go on, lets hope we have a son," she mumbled as she pulled her cloak on then reached fr the door.

He smiled a little, "Lets hope for the best then I'd much prefer marrying you than ending up in a casket,"

She smiled a little as she looked at him, before standing on her toes and kissing his cheek gently. "You promise? You will marry me?" She asked him. "When? I think... I would very much like to be your wife," She admitted softly.

He sighed. "I don't see why we have to complicate things, a daughter would be fine," He murmured. "So we'll need to try for a son if you have a daughter then?"

He chuckled a little "I remember you saying that you wanted me to court you properly," e said teasingly as he looked down at her, "Though I'd be more than willing to make you my wife by the end of the month,"

She sighed, "Yes, or else they will pester us some more," she said to him gently, "I'll be back within the hour,"

She smiled sheepishly. "Yes well... court me properly after we're married," She said, looking down and smiling at her feet. "Unless you'd rather court me and wait the standard six months to a year," She said, sighing a bit. "In which case, I suppose I can just wait for that time to pass." She said, teasing gently as she looked at him.

He sighed a little. "Fine, fine. Come back quickly so we can discuss this," He said, turning and going up to his bedroom.

He smiled a little as he looked at her, "Would you father agree then? I do not know many of the social protocols for this," he said to her.

When she spoke with the midwife she told her that they could begin trying right away, but eight to ten days from now would be best but practice made perfect. She walked back into the house then sighed as she made her way to his room.

"I expect he'll have to. I don't have any more suitors since I turned them all away," She admitted, smiling a little. "So if you make your intentions known, I would hope he would agree quickly."

Jinyoung looked up as she walked in. "You're back, what did she tell you?" He asked curiously, sitting up so he looked at her.

"She said practice makes perfect, but eight to ten days after a bleeding is the best time to try," she said to him lightly, "It's been four since mine so, whicheever you prefer,"

He nodded, "I'll make my interest known," he said to her stroking her cheek lightly, "Then we'll see," he smiled.

She smiled a little. "Court me later, but I think I've seen all that I need to," She admitted as she looked at him. "You're kind, you're sweet, reliable, strong, and...and good looking. I don't know theres anything else I need to think on."

He raised an eyebrow. "Practice? I suppose. I don't see why we shouldn't wait until then, and just consummate the 8th, 9th, and 10th, day."
