Of Our Fates

Lily sighed a little as she looked at her for a moment before sitting back in the chair, "'m sure we'll have a baby when its our time, no need... to rush right?" she said lightly as she looked at her.

He nodded and took the apple"she is this way," he said motioning for her to follow him into the orphanage.

She walked into the orphanage, looking around for Chanyeol. She went into the room he sad stood as his office and knocked, sticking her head inside. "Hi, are you here?" She asked curiously. "I've brought more fruit," She said, looking to see if he was inside. She had been bringing fruit on a nearly daily basis for the kids but she made sure to say hi when she came.

Lily was at a loss - she wasn't sure what to do - his mother came twice a week each time bringing her baby clothes or toys; and each time she had to tell her, there was no baby. They hadn't even consummated their marriage yet, they hardly ever saw one another; she was positive that her father didn't want this for her.

Chanyeol looked up from his desk then smiled, "Hey," he said to her lightly, he'd been working with the doctors in another city and right now the sick girl was staying with a family near the doctor so they could treat her. They said she seemed to be doing better which he was gratful for.

She smiled a little. "Hello," She said, setting down the bag of fruit. Her father had bored her with marriage options all day and she couldn't wait to get out and come visit Chanyeol instead. There was something about him that made her just so happy.

He walked into the room and yawned, sitting at the table before cutting up a piece of fruit and taking a bite. He stood without a word and walked into the other room, sitting on the bed and shutting his eyes.

Lily stood and walked to his bedroom knocking on the door frame and peeking inside, 'Jinyoung?" she murmured unsure if hewanted to speak to her or not, "I..I'm sorry to bother you but I was wondering if we could talk?"

He smiled a little,"Hey how've you been?" he asked as he stood up and stretched a little.

“Well and you? Well, not so much, I have to go meet with the match maker, apparently my father is trying to have my married off,” She rolled her eyes.

He looked up. “Sure, what is it?” He asked curiously, sitting up to look at her.

"Your mother keeps coming by, I've been examined by a doctor twice - she is persistent and wondering why I'm not pregnant," she murmured, "I think she knows," she said softly as she looked at him then pushed a hand over her face, "I don't know what to do - weh ave enough baby clothes to run a fully functitonal orphanage at this point,"

He nodded a little, and sighed, "It's really quite unfair when you think about it, but my mother wants the same for me but I'm not so sure i'm quite the eligable bachelor," he chuckled a little.

She smiled a little. “Personally I prefer courting, I think arranged marriages are medieval, I need to be proven why I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you not be forced to do it.”

He shrugged. “Why is this our problem? They cannot force us to consummate, and we won’t.”

She sighed a little then rubbed her face, "You're not going to get backlash when they find out, I will," she said to him, "I was perfect fine living on my own, and taking care of myself but now we're partners in this and I'm still going to take all the blame," she said to him softly as she looked at him.

He nodded a little, "I agree, though our parents seem to think otherwise, I don't have any women knocking down my doors,"

She smiled a little. “Well I don’t see why not, you’re a good man, and handsome.” She said quietly. “You’d make any woman a fine husband.”

He looked at her and sighed. “I don’t want to sleep with a stranger, and I’ll tell anyone who asks.”

"You think I do? But neither of us has attempted to get to knw one another," she said to him softly as she looked at him then looked down, "If I'm going to be a wife I want to be a good one,"

He smiled a little as he looked at her then wet his lips as he looked at her, "Why don't you marry me?" he asked as he looked at her with a coy yet confident look on his face.

“Because you haven’t courted me,” She said, smiling widely, but inside her heart was pounding. Of course she had noticed him as a man but the thought of such an open proposal from him took her off guard. “But you’d need to do a good job, I have a few other suitors.”

He sighed a little. “Are you asking me to consummate our marriage so you stop getting blamed? I’m getting pressured too but I wouldn’t forgive myself to sleep with a woman I didn’t love.”

She sighed then looked down, "You... nevermind" she said then turned and walked to her room shutting the door behind her then flopping on her bed. He seemed like the only man in the entire country who wouldn't want to bed his wife, one who wouldn't want to get to know her and one who didn't seem to care what others thought.

He smiled, "I doubt they're anywhere near half as charming as I am," he said to her chuckling a little as he wet his lips.

She smiled a little. “You’ll have to do well then,” She said, shrugging her shoulders. “You would have to give me a reason to marry you, especially if the choice is mine.”

He yawned and rolled over, getting comfortable and closing his eyes.

"I think I'm doing pretty well already," he said as he looked at her with a small smile then wet his lips a little, "But I'll have dinner made for us then?" he offered.

She smiled a little. “You’ll have to do better than that, you can come to my house and pick me for dinner,” She said grinning a little. “And after we can go for a walk.”

'Consider it done," he said as he looked at her with a small smile, he knew he'd marry her - no matter what; she was perfect. they got along well, they had similar interests and she loved these kids as much as he did.

“Now I need to go and pass out fruits to the children if you’d like to join me,” She smiled a little, picking up her bag. “And after we can discuss what we can have for dinner.”

He nodded a little and stood up, "Of course, this way, they're out playing in the back,' he said to her lightly ,"and Lucy is in a bigger city with a better doctor," he informed her.

Mariana heard footsteps coming up the path and looking through her window and smiling a bit to herself. She got up and went to her mirror, making sure her hair was presentable, before going back over to the window. She wasn't sure why, but she was so excited whenever he came around, especially since he'd started courting her. "Have you come for more fruit?" She asked, leaning out the window and smiling a little.
