Cici sipped her drink, but kept herself close to Ryker. She wasn't used to everyone there; some of the girls were from high school, a few guys. But it was more a mix of people from other schools, and towns. She sighed, and looked around. Ari wasn't with her, but Ryker was. She looked up to him, "I really want to cuddle." She laughed a little. "And I kind of want to smoke."

When drinking upset her stomach, she wanted to just go home, and sleep. She had set her cup down, and looked to Ryker. "Can we get going soon?" Besides her stomach hurting, she had noticed a couple of the girls nearby making looks at Ryker, and Michael. Cici rolled her eyes, and stood in front of him.



Zeke smiled, and helped Thomas. He looked over his shoulder every now, and then to look at Allison. She looked beautiful, he started to think maybe he could talk to Thomas about being with her. He didn't see a problem with just bringing it up, as something that could happen. But he'd wait until either Thomas brought it up, or they were back home. Then he could leave easier if Thomas was against the idea.

He turned around, and set the grilled food on the table. "Dinner is served." He smiled, and took his seat. He kept glancing at Allison, a little smirk never leaving his lips.

Ryker looked at her, "Yea of course babe." He said. He looked at Micheal, "I will see you later man." He said. He took Cici's hand and walked out of the party. Ryker got on his bike and waited for Cici. He drove them back to her place then walked inside with her. "Well that was fun." He said as he walked into her apartment. He set his keys down and smiled at her.

Allison smiled as the food was set on the table, "It looks great." She said as she put the food on her plate. She really was excited to spend the evening with Zeke. Once they finished eating she got up. "Im going up to my room." She said. She went up to her room and stripped out of her clothes before she put water in her bathtub. She got in the bubble bath and relaxed. She smiled when she heard her dad heading to bed.

She smiled, and went to her room. "Yeah, it was fun. Just a couple of the girls wouldn't stop looking at you." She rolled her eyes, and changed into underwear, and a tank top. Cici threw her hair into a bun, and went to the bathroom the clean her makeup off. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. "Babe?" She called him into the bathroom. She was feeling a little insecure.

Cici turned to Ryker, "Do you want to actually be with me? Like for a long period of time? Some random girl isn't gonna take you?"



Zeke stayed behind, and had a few more drinks with Thomas, before he decided to head off to bed. He went to the balcony off of his room, and set up some pillows in the corner, with blankets. He had candles going, and his laptop set up on a small table. Zeke took a quick shower, and changed into a pair of shorts.

He grabbed a bottle of champagne, and two glasses. He was actually excited to surprise her with this little date. He wanted her, as herself. Nothing fancy, and no stress. Plus this was the closest he could get without Thomas finding out.

Ryker walked to the bathroom, frowning at her question. "How can you even ask me that?" He asked. "Of course i plan to stay with you. If i wanted someone else i would have done that. I want you and only you." he said as he walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Relax." he said as he kissed her cheek.

Allison got dressed in a pair of pj shorts and a crop top before she went to Zeke's room. She smiled when she seen Zeke, "Hey." She said as she shut the door. Allison walked with him, surprised to see the set up on the balcony. "Well i didnt know you were so romantic." She said, laughing softly. She hugged him and let her fingers run over his back.

"I noticed a few of the girls checking you out at the party, and it bugged me. I know that's dumb, but I got jealous. I get worried you'll end up wanting a girl who doesn't have a kid..." She realized what she had said. For the first time since she had been around Ryker, she realized that he truly wasn't the other guys she had in her life. "Please forget I said that." She blushed a deep shade of red, then grabbed his hands. "Hm, I'm thinking cuddles! We have to start packing some stuff up tomorrow to move to storage."

Cici dragged him to the bed, she crawled under her fuzzy blanket. "I'm just so happy. I really don't even know what to say, or how to feel." she blushed. Then leaned over to give him a kiss.



Zeke laughed. "I'm capable of a lot of things." He winked, then pulled her onto his lap. "Choose whatever you want." He gave her the wireless mouse to the laptop. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed the back of her neck. All he could do was think about how happy he was to have her in his arms. He was so afraid she would've never talked to him again after what happened.

Ryker smiled as he walked over to the bed. He took his shirt off and stripped down to his boxers. He got under the blankets with her, snuggling against her. "You are amazing and i love you and Quinn more than life." He said as he kissed her. "Get some sleep baby." He said as he played with her hair. He fell asleep pretty quickly, holding her body close to his.

Allison smiled as she picked a song then relaxed against him as she took the champagne from her. She smiled to herself and thought about how great it was going to be with Zeke. He would take care of her and love her. Allison took a sip of her drink, "This is amazing." She said looking at him.

Cici drifted off to sleep quickly. It had been a long time since it was just her, and him. She had missed it, a lot. The next morning Cici woke up before Ryker, she went to the kitchen and started the coffee. She sighed, as she sipped her cup. She went onto her balcony, and watched the cars drive by. She would miss the scenery. But she knew that moving out of this area was best for Quinn.

She grabbed a cigarette, and took a few puffs. She played on her phone, and looked to see the notifications her picture had gotten. It had been years since her profile was in a relationship with anyone. And honestly, she was positive the last person was Ryker. She laughed a little bit to herself. She messaged her mom, who said Quinn was ready to come home soon. Her arm was bothering her a little bit though. Liz said she had given her medicine and everything else, but Quinn still kept complaining.

Cici went back into the bedroom, and crawled into the bed next to Ryker. "Hey, babe?"



"Not as amazing as you." He smiled, kissed the side of her head, and enjoyed having her in his arms. For the first time in years he felt at peace. He wanted nothing but to be with Allison, and take care of her, and treat her how she deserved to be treated. He kept his one arm wrapped around her waist. "What do you think your dad would say if he saw this?"

Ryker woke up when he heard Cici. He looked at her, “Hey.” He muttered as he sat up. He looked at her, “Good morning, beautiful.” He said as he kissed her softly. Ryker stretched then got out of bed and started to get dressed. “So what’s up?” He asked, seeing the concern on her face. He smiled at her and sat on the bed next to her. He was so happy about getting to be with her for the rest of his life.

Allison thought about what he said, “I don’t know. It would either be good or you would be dead.” She said looking at him. She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. She felt so happy in his arms.

Cici sighed, and looked to her boyfriend. "Quinn is complaining about her arm. My mom said she gave her more Tylenol, but she keeps saying it hurts. She said she didn't sleep on it, and that it's been hurting." She looked to her hands. She was worried that maybe something was wrong, maybe she was doing something wrong. She wasn't feeling like the best mom, though. "I wanna go pick her up, and see. My mom has breakfast for us, she said Quinn is still eating, but she keeps getting a fever."

Changing, and grabbing what she needed. Cici looked to Ryker, "Can you drive?"



Quinn whined, "Grandma, my tummy is upset." She sniffled, and stopped eating her pancakes. "I want mommy." She held her stomach, and looked to her grandma. She looked like she didn't feel good. Quinn got down from her chair, and went to the living room where she laid down, and decided she wanted a nap.



"What if I told you I wanted it to be good?" He kissed the side of her head. All he wanted to do was kiss her, and hold her. She was perfect. "What if I told you I wanted to be with you? I'm sober this time." He chuckled.

Ryker got out of bed and started to get dressed, “Yea I can do that.” He said. He grabbed his keys then drove over to Cici’s mom’s house. Ryker walked in going over to Quinn, “What’s wrong munchkin?” He asked, frowning as she told him what was wrong. “Here let me see your arm.” He said as he started to take of the bandage. He frowned when he seen it was all red and swollen. He looked at Cici, “Her arm is infected. We need to get her back to the hospital.” He said as he got up. He picked Quinn up, “Let’s go.” He said. He walked out with them and got Quinn buckled in.

Once they got to the hospital he picked up Quinn and carried her inside. He sat down in the waiting room after checking them in. He handed Quinn to Cici and kissed Cici on the head, “It will be alright.” He assured her. Ryker was glad when they called Quinn back. He walked back and watched as the doctor looked her over. He put his hands in his pockets after the doctor walked out. He looked at Cici, then walked out and talked to the doctor before he came back. “So they are going to give her some meds and keep her overnight to give her some fluids.” He explained. He looked at Quinn who was drifting to sleep in the bed. He ran his fingers through Cici’s hair, “Are you okay babe?” He asked her. He knew that she was having a hard time with this.

Allison looked at him and smiled, “Are you sure about that?” She asked him as she moved so she was straddling his lap. “I mean you will have to put up with my dad even more than usual and of course you will have to worry about me.” She said as she watched him. She didn’t know if Zeke was the dating type. She knew he had always been a player. Allison kissed him, “I would be okay with it, but I want to make sure that you want that.” She said.

Cici felt like a mess up, she felt like she had totally messed up her daughters life. Sniffling, she looked to her sweet baby girl in the big hospital bed, then to Ryker. "I just feel like the worst mother in the world." She buried her face in his chest, and inhaled sharply to keep a sob in. "I honestly hope it's just a small infection. Something that happens." Cici went to the chair by the bed, sat down, and held Quinn's sleeping hand. She rested her head on the arm railing. She looked to Ryker. 'Id honestly be so lost right now, without him.'

The next morning, the doctor came back into the room. Quinn was up, but not really eating, she kept complaining of a tummy ache. The doctor smiled to Quinn, then gave a concerned look to Cici. "We still want to run a few more tests. We noticed her white blood cell count was a little odd. We just want to make sure it's nothing." He looked to Ryker, "After we take a few more samples, you all can be on your way."

A nurse came over, and began drawing blood from Quinn, who was looking to her mom with wide eyes. She kept reassuring her everything was fine. Finally, they were done taking blood. "You all have a nice day! We'll call you with any results."

Cici honestly felt much better that the tests had been ran. She carried her little one to the car, and looked to Ryker. She kissed his cheek. "I'm so, so lucky to have you in my life." She turned around, to see Quinn fast asleep. "I think it's time we all go home, and get some rest."



"Here's a little secret, I've been keeping an eye on you since before you were a teenager." He chuckled, and held her hips. He accepted her kiss, and smiled. "I can put up with anything. Just, if you're mine. You're mine. There's a reason I don't do relationships, not a lot of people actually take this type of shit seriously. I'll play as many girls as I want, because they do the same thing before I do." Zeke had been hurt, a lot. Being in a gang didn't help his persona, but he wasn't a heartless guy. He did want to love someone, and show them off, and protect them. He wanted Allison.

"But, I can understand if you don't wanna be with the big, bad right hand man." He winked."

Ryker walked to the car with them and drove home, taking Cici's hand. "I will always be here for you." He said. He couldn't help his gut feeling that was telling him that something was really wrong with Quinn. He didn't want to tell Cici that though. He parked in front of Cici's house then got out, taking Quinn in his arms. He walked to their apartment then walked in and carried her to the bedroom. He smiled as she woke up a little as he laid her down. "Don't worry princess I won't let anything happen to you." He whispered as he kissed her forehead. He pulled her blankets over her, then looked back as Cici came to her door.

Allison looked at him and hugged him. "I have wanting nothing more than to be with you." She whispered. She had always wanted him to be hers. "I'll never hurt you." She said as she kissed his cheek. She pulled away and took his hands. "I like that you are a bad boy." She teased him.

Cici came into the room, and stood beside Ryker. She leaned down, gave Quinn a kiss on her forehead, and frowned a bit. "She still has a fever." Sighing, she remembered the doctor said she couldn't have anymore medicine for a few hours. "I hope it breaks in her sleep." Cici looked to her feet, then turned for the door. "I'm gonna go lay down, at least attempt to get some sleep." She bit her lip, and sent a text to her mom. She wanted to update Liz on what was going on with Quinn.

Crawling into bed, she yawned, and placed her phone on the bedside table. Closing her eyes, she fell asleep before Ryker came back into the room. The last thing she wanted to see was the sad look in his eyes. She could tell something was wrong, but she wasn't sure what it was, yet. Cici grabbed her phone, and kept it by her head. 'This just isn't fair.'

Quinn came wandering into the bedroom, she rubbed her arm, and sniffled. "Daddy?" She had managed to get sick all over herself, the minimal amount of food she had eaten was all over her. She sniffled a little harder, and grabbed Ryker's arm. "Daddy, mommy?"

Cici stirred awake. Her heart sunk when she heard the little voice. She turned on the light, and looked to Ryker. Her heart broke. Quickly jumping out of bed, she grabbed Quinn and scooped her up. "Awe baby, lets go take a shower. Cmon." She turned to Ryker, "Baby can you go clean up her bed?" She calmly went to the bathroom, and started up the shower. She held Quinn's small body in her arms, as the two of them stood under the warm water. She softly sang, 'You Are My Sunshine' in hopes of keeping the little one calm.

After the shower, she wrapped herself in a robe, and Quinn in a couple fluffy towels. She took her daughter to her bedroom, and held her to her chest.



Zeke sighed, it was a content one though. "I've waited forever to hear you say those words." He kissed her once more, then rested his forehead to hers. "I have no idea where this relationship is going to end up. But I'm so fucking happy I get to finally be with you. I really don't want anymore games. I swear." There was a threatening undertone, but not for her, for anyone who dare try to come between them.

He looked at his phone, and shook his head. "Do you wanna go down to the beach? Your dad is long passed out. Skinny dipping in the ocean?" He winked. Something about her made him want to be playful, and carefree. He still wasn't sure how her father would react, but he was willing to take it for what it was. For the first time in forever, he felt something that wasn't anger, or hatred.

Standing up, he offered her a hand. "I say, skinny dipping, smoking a little, and then treating you like a lady?" A sly smirk played on his lips.

Ryker nodded, "It will break." He told her. He watched as she walked back to the room and sighed. He got up once Quinn fell asleep then went to Cici's room and took off his shirt and shoes. He took his jeans off then laid down in the bed with her. He stared at the ceiling most of the night before he fell asleep. Ryker woke up when he felt Cici move, smelling the distinct smell of vomit. He looked over at her and nodded when she asked him to clean up Quinn's bed. "Yea I got it." He said. He got up and pulled on his jeans before he went to Quinn's room and ripped the blankets off. He set them to the side and found some sheets and a blanket. He made her bed, then walked to the washer and started to clean the ruined covers. He bit his bottom lip lightly as he stood outside the door, listening to Cici sing to Quinn.

Ryker sat on the bed, then looked over at Cici walked in with her. "Feeling better?" He asked, looking at his daughter who looked a little better. He walked over to her, feeling her head. It seemed like her fever had broke. He looked at Cici, running his fingers through her hair, trying to make her feel better.

Allison smiled, "Yes that sounds fun." She said as she took his hand. She went with him to the beach, watching as he began to strip out of his clothes. Allison pulled her clothes off then smiled as she took his hand and let him lead her into the water. She laughed softly as he shivered, "Big baby." She joked as she splashed him. Allison pulled away as he tried to pull her under.

Cici held their little girl close to her chest. She felt comfort at Ryker's touch, "I just want to be able to help her." She looked down to Quinn, who had fallen back asleep. She wasn't as warm as she had been, she was a little pale, but at least her fever was gone. Cici slowly laid Quinn down on the bed beside her. She looked to Ryker, "I hate that there isn't anything I can do." She got up, and changed into a pair of sweats, and a tank top. She grabbed a big t shirt for Quinn to sleep in. Cici held her little girl to her chest as she laid back down beside her, she looked over to her boyfriend.

"Babe? Can you just.. hold me, while I hold her?" For the first time in years, Cici felt weak. She felt helpless.

The rest of the weekend was spent with Quinn getting sick, feeling better, running around, spiking a fever, and repeating. When Monday finally came, Cici almost screamed when the phone rang. They informed her that she needed to bring Quinn in immediately for some tests to be run. They would explain more when they arrived.

Cici had to be strong. She couldn't show how afraid she was, how she didn't actually know what was happening. The small family walked into the doctors room together. Cici held Ryker's hand, and the doctor cleared his throat. He then began to explain what the tests had shown.

"Leukemia is very treatable, and it's only in the beginning stages."

All she could do was hold her daughter, and stare past the doctor.



Zeke laughed, "If you had something shrink inside you, you'd shiver too!" He grabbed for her, and splashed around. The two were noisy, but everyone was asleep. Pulling her further to the waves, one crashed into him, knocking Zeke down. He came swimming back up, coughing, and laughing. He made his way over to Allison, he cupped her face, and gently kissed her. The water washed around them as he held her. "God, I'm so cheesy." He winked.

Paul couldn't sleep, so he decided to wander down to the waters edge. He had only been invited on the trip, to keep an eye on things while everyone had their fun. Stopping before the beach front was completely visible, he noticed two people in the water. Getting closer, his eyes grew wide.

Paul quickly grabbed for his phone, and took out the camera. "Thomas will never believe this."

Ryker sat there as he listened to the doctor. "When do you want to start treatments?" He asked the man. The next half an hour was spent between the two of them spitting medical terms at each other. Ryker watched as the doctor wrote Quinn a prescription for something to keep her fever down. He led Cici and Quinn out. He watched as Cici put Quinn in the car then stopped her. "It's going to be okay Cici." He said. "I promise i will fix this." he said as he handed her the prescription. He kissed her, "Why dont we take her to eat?" He suggested. "I know a place that serves some pretty great healthy food." He said. He opened the door for her, then shut it. He got in and looked at Quinn, "Hey princess how about some food." He said. He knew she was feeling a little better today.

Allison laughed as he pulled her close. She kissed him back, moaning against his lips. "You are so amazing." She said. She wrapped her arms around him and let the water hit against them. Allison smiled as she stepped back from him. After they swam for awhile she returned to the house with him. She kissed him before she went to her room. She woke up the next morning and walked downstairs, looking for something to eat.

Cici was in a daze, she nodded with a quiet agreement to go get something to eat. She had texted her mom, and told her she needed to call her later. There was a ball of nerves lumped in her stomach.

Quinn swung her feet, she wasn't entirely sure what was going on. She just knew she would be going to the doctors more. "Yes! Daddy! Can we get ice cream?" She smiled, and then her face dropped when she realized her mommy wasnt turning to ask what she wanted. "Mommy?"

Cici snapped out of it, and turned to her little girl. "We can do whatever you want!" She smiled, and took out her phone. She snapped a couple pictures of Quinn. She added some Snapchat filters, and she made videos of her singing, the entire ride to the restaurant. Cici knew everything would be okay, but she wanted to have these memories. She wanted to prove to everyone, everything would be okay. Or was she just trying to convince herself of that? Looking over to Ryker, she smiled. 'I have no clue what I would do without you...'

Zeke had enjoyed every moment with Allison. That night, he laid in bed and stared at the ceiling, or his phone. The two had finally taken some pictures together. He smiled, his heart felt full. This is what he had wanted for so long.

Paul was standing on the porch with Thomas. The two were puffing on a cigar, talking about the trip. Then he pulled out his phone, "Now, sir. What I have to show you is something I couldn't believe either." He pulled up the photo, and the video he took.

Waking up the next morning, Zeke made his way downstairs to the kitchen. He saw Allison standing there; looking around he quickly slapped her ass. "How about we go get lost on a walk today?" He grabbed an apple off the counter, and bit into it. He leaned against the countertop, his eyes never leaving her.

Ryker nodded, “Of course we can.” He said as he began to drive. He pulled into the parking lot, then got out of the car. He held Cici get Quinn out then walked inside with them. He sat down at the table, looking over the menu, watching Cici and Quinn. He was hoping that Quinn would be able to get better. He knew that it was likely that she would, but he knew it was going to be hard for Cici to go through. He didn’t think she would be able to handle it. “What have you decided to get?” He asked his daughter.

Allison laughed and looked at him, “Hm…That does sound fun.” She said. She frowned when she heard her dad coming down the stairs. Allison screamed as he grabbed Zeke and slammed his face against the granite countertop. “Daddy stop!” She yelled at him. She frowned as he pulled Zeke up and slammed him against it again. “Daddy!” She screamed.

Thomas held Zeke by the neck, “You shut the fuck up!” He yelled at Allison. He grabbed Zeke shoving him against the wall. He pulled a gun on him, “You fucking think you can just do whatever you want!” HE yelled. “I’m going to fucking kill you!” He snapped. He frowned as Allison went to talk again, “Keep talking and you will be cleaning his brains off the floor.” He said, not looking at her. “What the fuck are you doing messing around with my daughter?” He asked, glaring at Zeke. “I trusted your pathetic ass.

Quinn had found Mac & cheese on the menu, with some sweet potato fries. She pointed to the meal, and then looked over to her mommy who was still sitting there with her eyes staring into nowhere. "Mommy, can I has chocolate milk today?!" She was usually told to drink water, or juice.

Cici smiled, snapping out of her daze. She had to be strong, she had to be. Wrapping her arm around her daughter, she smiled. "You can get whatever you want!" Cici decided on a salad, and some tea. She wasn't having much of an appetite. After they ordered, and it was brought back to them, the family ate their meal. Quinn kept making faces, and playing with her food. Ryker was keeping spirits high. Cici just had to keep pushing through, until she could get home, and break down.

Once the family arrived back at the apartment, Cici helped Quinn take a bath, and crawl into bed. She set her up with a new little TV, and Netflix streaming. Kissing Quinn on the forehead, Cici went back to the living room, and sat down. Ryker had gone in to see Quinn. While she had a moment, she wandered to the balcony and called her mom. "... yeah, leukemia. I'm just, I feel like a damn failure as a mother." Her mom comforted her, as best she could. Letting silent tears fall, she hung up the phone, and went back inside.

She found Ryker on the couch. Curling up on the spot next to him, she laid her head in his lap. "What am I supposed to do?"



Before he could react, Zeke felt the thick, hot ooze of blood leave his forehead, nose, and lip. His head bounced, and all he could focus on, was Allison screaming. He knew if he fought back, he'd be killed on the spot. Allowing his beating only seemed reasonable. Once Thomas had thrown him against the wall, Zeke spit a mouth full of blood at his feet. "Messing around is what all your other fucks did. Or would do." He coughed, and caught his balance. "I don't just fuck, and leave." He chuckled, shaking his head, spitting more blood.

He looked to Allison, ignoring Thomas. "Fucking kill me. The only reason I even stuck around was for your daughter." His eyes found their way to Paul, who was standing in the background. His arms were crossed over his chest, a smug smile stuck on his face. "Paul, I'm gonna fucking kill you if Thomas doesn't kill me first." A fire lit inside of him. "I take care of Allison! I want to have something with her. A fucking future!" He coughed, laughed. "Blow my brains out. Fuck you. Your daughter would rather call me daddy anyway!"

He snapped.

Ryker sat on the couch and held Cici in his arms, “Well, there is nothing we really can do. We can take her to the treatments and make sure to keep her happy. Thought I’m not going to lie and tell you it is going to be easy. It’s going be really hard.” He said, as he ran his fingers through her hair. “Don’t worry though. We will do this together and everything will be fine.” He said as he kissed her softly. He held her close, trying to make her feel better. He was freaking out on the inside, but he knew that he had to be strong for them.

Thomas shook his head, “You smug son of a bitch! If it wasn’t for me you would be dead on the street somewhere! I took care of you after your worthless father was killed!” He yelled at him. “This is how you repay me!?” He screamed as he walked over and pressed the gun to Zeke’s head, “I will fucking kill you if you hurt her.” He said. Thomas hated to admit that he would be okay with Zeke being with Allison but it was clear that he was letting it go. He stepped back, “I’m not kidding. If you do so much as make her tear up I will cut your dick off and choke you with it.” He snapped. He looked at Allison, then walked off.

Allison frowned as her dad pushed the gun against Zeke’s head, “Daddy stop.” She pleaded. She was glad when he finally stepped back. She frowned as he walked away, then sighed. Allison grabbed Zeke’s arm when he went to go after Paul, “Stop. Can we just…clean you up.” She said, seeing the blood running down his face. “Come on.” She said, taking him to the bathroom that was connected to her bedroom. Allison watched as he sat on the edge of the bathtub. “I’m sorry.” She said as her shaking hands took what she needed out of the first aid kit. She began to clean the wounds on his face, not saying anything to him. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she thought about what he said.
