Lola and Craig Mabbitt

Max sat outside of the bar as he took and stretched a little keeping his cigarette in his mouth. He held the beer in the other and downed half of it as he took and lent back into the brick wall. Lately shit had been going down between him and Ava. He had no idea why, but things just weren't like they used to be.

Lola ran a hand through her red and black hair sighing. She stood inside of the kitchen of her home staring out the window. She'd been married to Craig for nearly five years, and it hadn't been the most perfect, or happiest five years of her life either. She decided on calling her best friend, Ava to see if they might could hang out. That was till Craig walked into the house demanding the house be spotless and ready for some type of cookout tonight he was hosting for his friends.

Ava sighed as she tapped her fingers against her leg. Her and Max had gotten into a fight earlier and he ended up leaving to go to the bar and she was worried about him. Everytime he went out drinking, he came back in a worse mood. She pulled her phone out and decided to text him. Can you come home now?

Craig sighed as he walked into his house. The place was a mess, in his eyes. His wife was sitting on her ass and that just irritated him more. "Lola, I need the house spotless and cleaned from top to bottom within the next three hours." He told her.

Max heard his phone buzz and looked down at it. He took and sighed replying back to Ava. In a bit.. He finished his drink and smoke and smirked at the girl in front of him. He needed a stress relief but knew it was wrong. He pushed the girl away and headed to his car.

Lola looked at Craig and stared at him shocked. "The house is spotless, Craig." Lola told him crossing her arms.

Ava sighed as she looked at the text and decided not to bother him too much. She instead went into the kitchen to get a drink and dialed Lola's number to see if they could hang out.

Craig looked at her, "this is clean to you?" He laughed. "Whatever, don't embarrass yourself and answer your damn phone, the ringing is getting on my nerves." He snapped before heading into the kitchen.

Max pulled into the drive and walked into the house. He took and sighed as he looked at her. "I'm home." Max shouted out slurring every word he spoke as he laughed a little at nothing praticlar.

Lola rolled her eyes watching him walk away. "Fucking prick." She sighed out answering the phone. "Hey Ava." Lola told her into the phone.

"Hey hang on," Ava said. She peeked around the corner and saw Max and sighed. "Max is home and naturally he's drunk." She sighed into the phone.

Craig headed upstairs where he decided to take a nap before he had to get the cookout going.

Max narrowed his eyes not seeing Ava anywhere's. "We gotta be ready in an hour. Craig is doing a cookout, Ava." He snapped out going upstairs.

"Craig is being his normal dickself." Lola sighed as she leaned into the wall.

Ava sighed, "I guess I'll see you at the cookout." She said and then said bye before hanging up. She headed upstairs and to their room. "Hello to you too, Max." She mumbled.

Craig took a nap and got dressed before coming downstairs to get the steaks merrinating and make sure he had charcoal for the grill.

Max groaned, "Don't fucking give me the damn attitude." Max mumbled laying on his back staring up at the ceiling.

Lola finished the last bit of her chores and sighed. She walked into the kitchen seeing her husband, "Is everything perfect?" She questioned him sighing.

"I'm not. You're the one with the attitude." I said as I went into the bathroom to fix my hair and makeup.

"Yes." Craig said as he started beating the meat to make it more tender.

Max followed her, "I don't have the fucking attitude. You better watch yourself. Or you'll be having some fucking bruises before we leave." Max growled out.

Lola sighed heading upstairs to get ready.

"Wouldn't be the first time." I snapped back. I started braiding my hair to the side. I know I was pissing him off but I was tired of his shit.

Craig put the meat in the fridge to let it set before following her. "What's your fucking problem?" He asked.

Max narrowed his eyes and grabbed her head smashing it into the sink. He narrowed his eyes, "I think you need to sit this one out." Max told her.

Lola turned and looked at him, "You." Lola told him honestly.

Ava was in shock. She fell back as blood ran down her face. She looked up at him as he walked out of the bathroom. She sat there for a moment before grabbing a rag and placing it on her head.

"What the fuck did I do?" Craig growled, moving towards her and backing her into a corner.

Max sat on the bedside letting a sigh escape his lips. He didn't mean to hurt her. But she had pushed him so damn much.

Lola felt the fear hit her as she stared at him, "The house was spotless. You made a huge deal over it." She whispered trembling.

Ava carefully stood up, holding the rag to her forehead. She was sure she was going to need stitches. She slowly walked back into the room. "Max.." she said softly.

Craig looked at her, "you've had an attitude the whole time I've been home, Lola." He said, looking into her eyes.

Max looked back at her and frowned. He helped her downstairs and to the car. "I'm sorry, Ava. You just pushed me." Max frowned.

Lola stared him in the eyes shaking her head, "I have not." Lola told him staring at him. "You came home demanding the house clean, when it already was. I obeyed and did what you asked." Lola spat out narrowing her eyes at him.

"You can't keep hurting me like this, Max.." Ava said as she leaned against the window. The bleeding had stopped but her head was hurting.

"I'm not going to start an argument with you before everyone arrives, Lola." Craig said, backing away from her.

Max sighed, "I know, Ava." Max told her. He pulled in helping her inside as he went to park the car. He sighed going inside and looking at her a moment before looking away. It was eating at him that he'd hurt her.

Lola narrowed her eyes at him as she took and walked away. Lola frowned as she walked towards the bedroom to get ready for the party.
