Age is just a number, baby

Ella was seated in her bed going over her assignments for each clas, when she remembered her art professor. She stared at the post it note for a moment, biting her lip as she contemplated texting him. She quickly decided, yes. professor Evans? This is Ella Stone, from one of your classes. I was wondering about those extra credit shoots? What exactly are they and such?

Jack followed the young woman outside, not sure why she led him out there but it didn’t bother him. “Trying to strike up a conversation are you?” He asked teasingly. “Katie, what did you say you taught again? History? Science? Or maybe math?” He asked curiously.

Chris was lost in his work, grading over some papers and such when he heard his phone go off. Looking over at it, he just smiled seeing who it was. "Well, well..." He laughed to himself aloud as he picked up his phone to reply. I would leave that up to you. He replied as he put down his pen to continue this texting conversation with Ella. He was very intrigued by her interest with this extra credit and wanting to do so well in his class.

Katie looked to him, smiling a little to him. "I teach English." She reminded him as looked to him. "Wanna go see if they've started the bonfire?" She asked as she looked at her phone to see what time it was. She didn't know why but she didn't want to leave Jack's side, but she didn't wan to be annoying.

Ella smiled softly, me? But you’re the professor you pick and choose what we do... I mean I could just take pictures of cats if that’s what you like. lol. Ella didn’t mean to be so flirty she just couldn’t help it.

Jack nodded, “that’s right you told me that too I’m sorry. I’m forgetful.” He followed Katie outside to a large group of people gathered around a fire “looks like it’s started.”

Chris read the text and smiled, If that's the case, then let me think on it and I will let you know ASAP.. He sent the text back and then started to think about what project he would like to do with Ella. He still couldn't figure out what it was that drew her to him.

Katie smiled as she watched the large group of people gather around the fire. "Yes, it looks like it has started." She smiled as she leaned into him without thinking. "That goodness not everyone came out here." She said as she looked around at everyone, then back to Jack.

Ella read the message and smiled texting back an “Okay” before she continued to do her homework. She knew what drew her to him , he was just so handsome. Ella hook her thoughts away, nope this couldn’t happen.

Jack looked around and smiled, he looked over to Katie when she spoke, “why not? Don’t like large groups of people?”” He asked following to the bonfire.

Chris sat there at his dining room table, looking through his current, available projects that he could work. How was he going to use Ella in his work? The questions ran through his head. Did he want to use her as a photographer? He had sensed that she was one of the few within his students that would probably have a great eye and technique with the camera. Or, did he want to use her as a model? For her beauty was truly extraordinary, and he knew that using her would definitely bring some new light and freshness to his work. Pondering the decision at his hand, Chris got up from the table, making his way into the kitchen for a drink. Maybe give her both options and see which one she picks? He thought to himself as he reached into the fridge for a beer. Walking back over to his table, he picked up his phone, dialing Ella's number. There was only way of figuring this 'dilemma' -- he had to simply just call her and ask.

Katie shook her head, wanting to explain herself. "It's not that I don't like the large groups of people. It's just all my life, I feel like I've been a part of this world where I have to show off to people, thanks to all the parties my parents have hosted. And well, I really don't enjoy doing that....I really never did. However, I didn't want to upset my mom or dad, so I did what they wanted me to do. Which was to be amongst the large group of people. Always be the girl with the warm, welcoming smile on my face. Make sure the guests feel at home and entertained. You name it, I was always on my game of doing it. Pretty much in the eyes of my mother, I was to be a mini-hostess." She explained as she took of sip from her glass, realizing that she was out of her sweet tea. Glancing down at the now emptied glass, Katie sighed then looked back to Jack. "I'm going to go get a real drink this time." She laughed making her way back up to the house and inside to her family's bar.

Ella finished up her assignments and went to take a hot bubble bath. As she got everything ready she undressed, setting her phone to the side as she climbed in letting out a sigh. As she was getting comfortable her phone began ringing, she quickly picked up. “Hello?”

Jack listened to what Katie was saying and nodded Trying to understand. “Have you tried talking to them about it, I’m sure they’re understand if you just explained it to them. Jack laughed, “are you sure you’re old enough to be drinking alcohol missy?” He was only teasing of course.

Chris smiled when she answered the phone, "Hey Ella. It's Chris, Professor Evans. I hope I didn't get you at a bad time." He said as he sat down in the chair while he was on the phone with her. "I was just thinking about this project that you're going to be working with me on, and I wanted to know what you would like to do." He explained as that smile on his face remained. "For the project, are you looking to do photography part of it or the modeling part of it?"

Katie looked to him, "I have. You know my mom, she is very persistent about how she thinks things should go." She laughed a little, rolling her eyes. "Jack, I am more than old enough to drink alcohol." She giggled as she order a drink with Coke and Whiskey. When the bartender handed her the drink, she thanked him and then looked to Jack. "Would you like anything?" She asked softly before taking the first sip of her drink. "Mmm...perfect."

Ella smiled hearing her professor over the phone, “I’m in the bathtub but I’m good, I can talk” she smiled. She listened to Chris and thought about it, “i can do both of you want me to, whatever you want me to do.”

Jack chucked, “I’ll try to help out, talk to them, subtly bring it up. Don’t you worry” jack walked over and bought about his drink of choice. “I’ll just have a scotch, If you have it. Probably just a whisky then.”

Chris's cheeks turned a flushed color when she said that she was in the tub. At first, he didn't think he heard her currently. But as his mind processed it a little more, he had to try and shake his mind off of what Ella was currently doing. "You wouldn't mind doing both..." He grinned. "Well I believe we can work that out."

"Jack it's really fine. Trust me." She said with a small smile. "Oh we have scotch." She smiled as she nodded to the bartender. "Daddy likes scotch too. So we must always have it in stock." When the bartender got the drink ready, Katie thanked him then handed the glass to Jack. "Here you go." She smiled.

Ella smiled, “oh cool, yeah, I’d love to do both. I mean if you’re okay with it. “ she hummed softly not even thinking about what she was currently doing and who she was speaking with.

Jack shrugged “if you’re sure then,,.” Jack followed Katie and chuckled,”hasn’t changed one bit has he?” Jack sacked Katie about her father. “Thank you, now how about we go sit somewhere “

"I am more than okay with you doing both. I love a girl with such ambition." He grinned into the phone. "How about tomorrow morning, you come by my office and bring some of your photography work. I don't think I need to see it, but I still would like to see what you have to bring to the table." He said with a chuckle. "How does that sound?" He asked as he propped his arm up on his dining room table, listening to Ella. Gosh, how he could stay on the phone with her for hours. He wasn't sure how it happened or what caused it, but Chris felt like there was an instant connection between him and Ella.

Katie laughed lightly, "Nope...Not at all." She smiled, before taking a sip of her drink. She started to walk away from the bar with him. "I would love to go somewhere and sit." She admitted as they found their way back on the front porch. By this time, no one was around since they were all by the bonfire. "When it gets closer to midnight, and New Year's Day, there's going to be fireworks. A nice little way to bring in the new year." She laughed lightly once more, looking up at Jack. She still couldn't get over how attractive he was.

Ella let out a soft giggle, “great! Because I’d love to do both. Major in photography and arts so..” Ella finished up here bath as she put Chris on speaker, “yeah, that sounds great, I’ll show up bright and early then.” Afternoon a few more minutes she let him go to get dressed. Something about this man just drove her crazy. Ella had never had this problem before, she’s had plenty of professors who were attractive. Just Chris was different.

Jack followed Katie as he took another gulp of his drink, “of course he hasn’t. Still stubborn as a mule then?” He laughed. “Your father is a little crazy but he means well, sometimes he’s a bit misguided.” Jack stared at the sky, “wouldn’t be New Years without fireworks and kissing I suppose.”

Much surprise ran through the young man's face as they stayed on the phone with each other. His mind still going back to the idea that she was taking to him while in the bath. He didn't dare let that be the main thought in his mind though. Hearing her excitement about discussing their upcoming project together, Chris just smiled. When she had to let him go, Chris could almost feel a frown forming, but not let it hit his face. This was not a good bye, this was a I'll see you in the morning ending. Shaking his head at his own personal reactions and emotions, Chris bid her a good night, telling her he was would see her bright and early.

Katie laughed at Jack's perception on her father. He truly hadn't changed and saying he was still stubborn as a mule truly defined her father. "Pretty much." She laughed before taking a drink. Hearing the rest of Jack's words on her father, Katie just nodded, knowing that he was right. Her Daddy as meant well with EVERYTHING that he had done. "No, I suppose not." She said as she stared into the night sky. Realizing that this was the first New Year's Eve since her break up, Katie mentally through a little pity-party for herself. "That being if there was someone to kiss..." She mumbled, taking another sip.

Ella got dressed and ready for bed lying down, she smiled to herself. The next morning she knew she had to be up and early to meet Chris. Getting herself ready,finished up grabbing her bag with her portfolio of all her work, both as a photographer and a model. Heading out with her bag in one hand and a coffee in the other she was ready. As soon as she got to his office she knocked lightly on the door.

Jack smiled at the way Katie laughed at his jokes and teasing most people would call it flirting. He wasn’t sure what to think of that, she was a beautiful young woman, but also his friends’ daughter. He looked over at her and sighed softly. “I know the feeling, but hey here you are and here I am” Jack chuckled. Turning to lift her chin with his thumb and index finger, “You’re a beautiful young woman Katie, I’m sure you’ll find someone.” Jack Leaned down and kissed the corner of her lips. Pulling back quickly.

Chris was sitting at his desk in his office, going over some of his own works while he waited for Ella to get there. He was a little lost in his own little world when he heard a knock on the door. Looking up from his works, Chris put a smile on his face, instantly knowing who was on the other side. "Come in." He said with a charming smile as he put his things away, and waited to see Ella open the door and walk through the threshold and into his office.

Katie was a little shocked when he felt Jack kissed the corner of her lips. It felt like a a jolt of electricity ran threw her body. When he pulled back quickly from her, Katie just looked to him. "Oh wow." She said softly as she blinked her eyes, looking to him. "Jack...I...um..." She leaned in closer to him and kissed him softly on the lips this time. She felt that same spark once more as she pulled back to look to him. She didn't know what else to say at that point.

Ella opened the door and walked in closing the door behind her " good morning Professor Evans" She smiled. Walking over to his desk and bit her lip, holding her portfolios in her hands.

Jack wasn't going to lie and say he didn't feel anything because he did. Something about this woman just pulled him in, he smiled softly at her, Jack pulled Katie close when she kissed him. Kissing her deeply.

"Good Morning Ella." He said as he stood up from his desk. "You're here bright and early like I requested." He grinned with a small chuckle. "And for the record, please call me Chris." He reminded her with a slight wink. He looked at her hands, noticing the things that she was carrying. "Are those for me?" He winked.

Katie kissed him once more, this time deepening the kiss. She pulled herself closer to him, kissing for a moment more before pulling away. She looked to him and smiled before taking a sip of her drink. She put the glass down, still looking to him. "That was nice." she finally admitted. She couldn't help but wonder what was going through Jack's mind.

Ella blushed at the way her professor was speaking to her, almost like he was flirting with her. “I’m always punctual sir, and i well like I should just call you sir, or professor, after all wouldn’t it strange I’d a student called her professor by his first name?” She asked with a hint of playfulness in her voice. She nodded handing him the portfolios.

Jack had been kissing this blond woman for a moment or two his hands making their way to her hips as he pulled her close. When she stepped back he did as well. He didn’t want to scare her away, he smirked and winked at her. “Yes it was.”

Chris laughed a little. "You do have a point. However, remember what I said in class, you guys can call me whatever you would like." He smirked. Gently taking the portfolios from her, he opened them and started to scan them. He was very impressed with her work. "These are good." He said, his eyes meeting up with hers. "Please sit down." He said as he kept looking at the portfolios.

Katie smiled, almost feeling all giddy when he winked at her this time around. She didn't quite know what to think about this. Could there be something there between the two of them, and she was just realizing it now? She thought long and hard on that for a moment or two; trying to decide if she needed to say something to him or not. She looked at her phone for the time, seeing that it was 11:45 pm. "Well 15 minutes till the new year." She said as she took another sip, this time it was a bigger gulp.
