La Petit Feu

  • "I'll go get it," she said as she looked at him, "You should come stay at my place for the next few days," the invite wasn't really a suggestion. Dawn didn't want him alone, "I'll be right back," she told him patting his arm then walked into the bank, she saw the only back office with a door open and went in - she searched the desk and found his badge and gun. Returning to Reid she held it out to him, "Here,"

  • Reid smiled softly taking his things from her, "I was gonna come over anyway," he reminded her. He stood up to walk over to thank the rest of the team. "Thank you Dawn, I thought they were going to kill me," he said lightly

  • "I wasn't going to let that happen," she said to him gently with a small smile and sighed a bit as she pulled her bullet vest off and handed it to the person who was offering to take it.

Hotchner walked over, "We're heading back to the building, you can take him home after that - I'll call you if I need anything, but keep an eye on him," he said to her and she nodded.

"I wasn't planning on doing anything else," she admitted."

JJ and Morgan smiled a little at each other then headed to the SUV.

  • Reid smiled softly, "thanks Dawn," he said lightly. "Hey you'll get to see my place finally," he added. He headed back towards the office slowly, walking with her.

  • She nodded, "I will," she said to him as they walked, "Are you sure you're okay?" she asked gently, not wanting to be overbearing but wanting to be sure he was fine.
    January 17th, 2018 at 01:50pm
  • Reid smiled softly, "yeah I'm fine, my head just hurts a little, thank you for taking the shot," he said lightly. He knew that the robber would of shot him if before giving up, he'd spent enough time reading him, but he didn't want her to know that.

  • She nodded,"Of course," she said lightly, "Practice paid off then," shooting wasn't her favorite thing but she knew here it was a necessity. "Come on, to my car," she said to him once they reached the parking lot.

  • Reid smiled softly, 'I should go upstairs and grab my things," he said softly. He made his way to the office, and picked up his bag, and some paperwork he needed to fill out. He went to see Aaron to check it was okay to leave.

"Of course Spence, you've had a stressful day, go home take the rest of the day off," Aaron said.

Spence headed back downstairs after dropping by Garcia's office to show her he was fine.

  • She waited in the car for him then looked at her hands, she'd been reacting emotionally today - which was something she never did. Dawn was known for not letting her emotions compromise her job. Rubbing her face she began to feel sick... she'd killed someone.
    January 17th, 2018 at 02:20pm
  • Reid climbed into the car, "How are you feeling?" he asked her softly. He could sense she was slightly shaken, "are you worried about what happened today?" he asked her. He reached over and put his hand on her shoulder gently, "come on, we both need a drink, lets head to mine, and talk," he said softly.

  • Dawn nodded a little as she looked at him then started the car sighing, "It happened so fast, and at first I didn't even think about it but... I killed someone," she murmured as she drove to his apartment. "I know it was you or him, and that option... it was very clear but.." slowly her voice trailed off.

  • Reid nodded softly, "Sadly that is one of the things we sometimes have to do in our line of work," he said softly. "He had no intention to give up, and probably has killed other people before," he said softly. He smiled at her, "it will slowly feel better, and I'll help you through it," he said lightly.

They pulled up outside his apartment. "Come on lets head inside," he said to her lightly.

    {I'm super tired, I'll probably head to bed in a bit}

  • Climbing out of the car she locked the doors and followed him into the building and up the stairs. Knowing they could be there for one another made her feel better about the entire situation.

  • Spencer led her into his place, it was a small apartment, with one bedroom and a lounge and kitchen. Strewn about the lounge were books of all kinds, and papers, a partially finished chess game still sat on one table in the corner. It was the game he'd been playing with Gideon before he was killed, Spence couldn't bring himself to pack it up, or even move any of the pieces.

He put his bad down in one corner, on a old wooden writing desk, where he often sat a read. He smiled leading her into the kitchen, "would you like a coffee of anything?" he asked. He felt odd having someone in his home.

  • "Tea if you have any," she said lightly as she set her purse down on the counter then looked around, "I didn't expect anything else," seeing his place with her own eyes made her smile, books everywhere - which she very much expected. "It's nice,"
    January 18th, 2018 at 03:58am
  • Spencer grinned softly, "I'm sure I can find some tea." He began looking through the pantry which was neatly organised. The apartment seemed like two different people lived there, the kitchen was spotless, while the lounge was a mess of books. Reid liked it that way, to him books and papers were not rubbish or junk, and he liked being surrounded by them, but he liked his kitchen tidy.

"Will green tea be okay?" he asked softly, heading over to the teapot to begin making her tea. He smiled at her, "sorry about the books in the lounge, I'll tidy up, but you can take the bed tonight if you want," he said. He did have a large queen bed in his room, that was extremely comfortable, not that he made it to the bed to sleep often. He usually fell asleep in his reading chair midway through a book.

  • "Yes, green tea is fine," she replied over her shoulder, running her fingers over the many books, "I don't mind, it looks lived in," a part of her wished she could have this extensive of a collection of books. The most she had were some fiction ones and a few biographies by her favorite authors. "I wish I could understand some of these books, but I think some of them are a bit out of my comprehension,"

  • Spencer began making the tea slowly. He left it to rest and walked out into the lounge "Yes some of them are quite full on, but as I'm sure someone at work has told you, I can read twenty thousands words a minute, so heftier books intrigue me, they at least take awhile for me to finish," he said.

He began tidying up some books to clear a place for them to sit. Conspicuously missing from the apartment were electronics of any kind. Reid didn't have a television, a computer, or even a radio. He stacked the books into a perfect pile then placed them into one corner. "What did you do to pass time in France?" he asked changing the subject randomly.

  • "During the weekends I'd go to the produce market," she told him as she smiled, "I suppose here you call them farmers markets,"it was nice to bring a small canvas bag and just pick the freshest and best fruits and vegetables you could find. As well as buying meats, eggs and even milk - it was leaps and bounds cheaper than the shoppes.

Dawn sighed, "The produce was always the best, I've yet to go to the market here, the big stores have everything but it doesn't smell fresh..." she said making a face.

  • Spencer smiled widely, "You should talk to Rossi, I'm sure he gets most of his stuff from local growers," he said lightly. He walked back to the kitchen and organised a tray with everything someone might add to tea. He came back and placed it on the coffee table. "I wish I had a passion for food, sometimes I forget to eat dinner all together," he admitted quietly.
