Her eyes were looking at the architecture and taking it in with a small smile on her face, "It's beautiful," she murmured noting the european look to it all. "It all looks so old, are all of these the original buildings?" being in boston for the first time had her antsy. While she knew it was for a case she hoped they could stay one day after so she could check out some of the food in the area, which is what she was most excited about being in the states for the most part.

Spencer looked across at her and nodded, "for the most part its all original, some buildings have had maintenance done to make them safer, others have been remodelled inside," he explained. He had developed a fairly good understanding of the area from reading the guide book on the ride to the plane back in Virginia. He paused for a second and listed a few places they should try and visit while they were here.

"The other thing is local food, apparently the Clam chowder here is amazing," he said.

Dawn flashed him a smile, "Thats what I like to hear, being french you have to know that all things food are something I love, " she said then held up a hand, "and wine - consider the stereotype true," she joked lightly being looking back out the window enjoying the scenery as they drove. Part of her was eager to be here, but the other part dreaded it. Knowing that the lives of so many women were at stake, it really shook her to the core knowing what kind people that were on the streets right then; and everyone else was so oblivious to it all.

Spencer chuckled softly, "well that is certainly interesting," he commented. He wasn't massively surprised, most people enjoyed wine to an extent. He went back to looking through the files carefully, trying to figure out if the connection he thought he'd found was really there. He had picked up that most of the women, that had been killed had sometime during the week they went missing, been shopping at the same mall, different shops in the mall. He could see why it had been missed, what was troubling him was one of the victims hadn't been in the mall, at least not brought anything there.

When they arrived at the police station she climbed out of the car and sighed as she left her bag in the seat then followed the others into the precinct. Her badge and gun on her hip, which was an unusual weight that hadn't normally be there. It was much heavier than a taser, and the knowing she could possibly have to shoot someone weighed heavily on her shoulders. "You seem deep in thought, did you find something?" she asked him curiously as she sipped from a bottle of water. Fighting off the jetlag from her paris to virginia flight - her body finally feel its effects since she was normally in bed by this time.

Spencer also climbed out when they'd pulled up. He looked up when she spoke to him, "uh yeah, I think I found a connection," he said. He walked over to a whiteboard in the conference room that had been set up for them. He began writing up the victims names and information, then the pieces of evidence that they'd nearly all been to the mall.

"See every victim except number three, went shopping in this mall during the week they went missing," he explained to Dawn, "I still can't place number three there, or explain why it's important." He was struggling with what shopping somewhere with thousands of other people, would of made these women targets, what could of made the unsub pick them specifically.

"It's a possibility he works there, maybe this was the one he left the pattern with, he lost control." she said offering it up, "he could be a number of things but since they didn't all go into the same shops maybe he is a security guard or even cart sales person," the options were adding up quite well but she wasn't one hundred percent sure yet. Though the information laid in front of them gave them multiple options for what it could be.

Spencer nodded softly looking over the board, "No I doubt it's security guards, it's to varied in relation to which stores they were in, and what times," he noted. He wasn't wanting to shut her down at all, just clear the field of possibilities slightly, it was far too wide.

He stepped back smiling at Dawn slightly, "What sort of unsub are we looking for, typically given the victim ages and method of killing," he asked. If they could narrow it down to and age bracket, and loose personality type, maybe he'd be able to figure out the connection better.

"Victoria adams was twenty two years old, Kathleene Smith was twenty, Rosalie Carmichael was twenty four and the last victim Georgina Wyatt was seventeen," she said to him as she looked her folder then wet her lips, "He is probably older than them, there were not signs of struggle on their body," she said as she furrowed her brow and chewed on her bottom lip as she thought to herself.

Spencer nodded listening closely, he liked how her face looked when she bit her lip. He looked back at the board, thinking away quietly, all the victims had different hair color, were a mixture of ethnicities. He turned looking around the room, he spotted a camera. He looked back at Dawn.

"What kind of feed do the camera's in the mall have? Color or black and white?" he asked.

He was thinking he'd just figured out why the women were so different, it wasn't about what they looked like, it was possibly something the unsub saw them do, and got fixated on the action so much, the physical features were not important. If his hunch was right, the third victim might be the key, and not the abnormality.

She looked at the tv and grabbed the security tape and placed it in the VCR, "color," she murmured as she pressed play then watched the video, "This is the first victim," she said pointing her out once she saw her. Dawn furrowed her brow and watched the people around her.

Spencer frowned slightly, his hunch not paying off like he'd hoped. He kept watching the tape, looking at all the people on the tape for anything out of place. He stepped back, "I'm not sure, I was thinking if the feed was monochrome we would narrow our search to the guards monitoring the feeds," he said finally exposing where he head had been at.

"That way Rosalie would give clues to physical traits that matter to the unsub, because she's not on the tapes, so he had to have seen her in person," he elaborated. But that theory didn't really work, with the tapes being in color. He took a seat defeated.

The other members of the team had joined them partway through this discussion, and had just let them carry on. After Reid sat down Aaron cleared his throat, "okay, nice brain storm, but we should split up and go look at the crime scenes and speak to the families," he began. "Ried take Dawn to the mall, since you already think that's relevant," Aaron announced.

Dawn nodded a little as she looked at him then waited for the others orders to be given out then looked to him, "Do you want to drive or should I?" she asked him curiously as she held up the keys to the SUV. She'd hadn't driven in the states yet, but she figured it was the same as anywhere else. albeit a little busier than she was used to. "Maybe if we get a look around whats outside the mall we can have an idea of how he could have seen them; it could have been a number of things," she told him not wanting him to lose hope just yet.

Spencer began making his way out to the SUV, "I'm happy to drive if you want, but I don't mind" he said. He smiled softly at her noticing she was trying to prevent him from losing hope in his theory. "Yeah maybe it's through camera's from a specific store, or a street camera, lots of possibilities, I just hope we're not wasting time," he admitted. He knew that if they were wasting time, it could very well mean another woman loses her life, because they didn't catch the unsub in time. That was what stressed him out the most about this job, the fact that innocent peoples lives were in the balance.

Following him she handed over the keys, "I'd prefer to learn to drive in Virginia before I start driving everywhere else," she said sheepishly as she wet her lips a little then climbed into the passenger seat. "We're not, we're doing what we can right now, which is good - we'll catch him; either he'll mess up, or it'll all come together," she said to him.

"thats the one thing about killers, they're very prone to mistakes when they're under pressure of the law," she told him. "I'm guessing that doesn't change even in different countries,"

Taking the keys from her, and climbing into the driver's seat, Spencer nodded lightly. "Fair enough, I'm still not a huge fan of driving in different states, and I've lived in the States my whole life," he mentioned. He started the SUV and headed off towards the mall.

"I guess so, sometimes I think killers mess up on purpose, they want their work recognised, want to prove how good they are," he commented, 'those killers scare me the most,' he added. He always worried about the one killer that was as good as those ones, but didn't care about recognition, and respect; A killer like that, could go on killing for years, kill countless people, and never be caught.

A small nod shook her head as she brushed some hair out of her face, she toyed with her naked ring finger still unused to the band not being there, married for five years and all she had to show for it was a slight tan line where her ring had been. "Hm, we had a serial like that in France." she said softly, "He didn't care if he got caught but he was smart - he didn't want to be recognized, he wanted the power to know that we knew we had no leads. He was completely irradic we had no idea where to even start. He cross racial and gender lines, killed heterosexuals and homosexuals alike; had no preference for age... but he strangled every single one," that was a case that had haunted her night in and out.

"We caught him, it was a stroke of luck I was under cover for another case; I was under as a prostitute trying to crack down on human trafficking, and he picked me up. The way he talked," she smiled, "Thats what shocked me, I knew it was him the second he opened his mouth,"

Spencer nodded lightly, following along. He was glad his suspicions were correct that she had field training, and to be put undercover, she had to be fairly good as well. He personally wasn't massively comfortable in the field, that's why he liked being paired with Morgan, who was more than will to pick up the slack for him. He pulled into the parking lot of he mall, having not used the sirens.

"I'm glad you managed to catch him, having someone that adept at passing under the radar on the loose is terrifying," he admitted. He checked himself in the mirror for a second before turning to her, 'Maybe we should try not announce we're FBI, see if we can dig up any leads without giving away too much," he suggested. He had two trains of thinking for why to keep the FBI fact to themselves at least for now, firstly making it obvious could panic the shoppers causing serious injuries, and secondly if the unsub was still targeting victims from nearby he'd disappear as soon as he realised they were FBI and they might lose him for good.

She nodded a little then thought about it as she hid her badge, then looked at her gun and buttoned her cardigan a bit, "Is it visible?" she asked him as she raised her arms a bit. Dawn wanted to look the least conspicuous, though considering how small she was that was probably extremely easy. How many people would look at her and think she was in the FBI. Probably not many. "If you lose the vest, and one button, roll your sleeves up; you'll look more relaxed - like we're enjoying our day at the mall," she gave him a small smile.

Spencer nodded softly and followed her directions for how to make himself look more casual, he looked her over smiling softly, "very well hidden," he said softly. He hid his own weapon in his pocket, and slipped his badge into one of his back pockets. He knew it wasn't protocol to have a weapon in your pocket, but it would be worse if he left it behind totally.

Once he'd rolled up his sleeves, and undone the button, he climbed out of the vehicle. "Okay, so first I suggest we have a walk around the mall, see if anything jumps out at us," he suggested. He wasn't entirely sure what they should do if they didn't see anything, probably try talk to the head of security or the manager of the mall.
