Mitch looked around the restaurant from inside the vehicle. He was clearly to doing a risk assessment, he was nervous. He climbed out of the car, "I'll let you know," he said softly. He carefully walked inside, again looking around, he spotted a table that would suite is preferences, good lines of sight, in backed into a corner near an escape route. He turned to Abby, "if we can get that table, we could eat here," he told her

Abby walked inside with him, noticing the way he scanned the area. "Okay." She said, smiling at him. She got them the table he wanted then sat down with him. She looked at her menu for a moment, before looking at him, seeing his eyes searching the room. She set her menu down, "Mitch." She said, getting his attention. "Calm down. It's okay." She said, letting her hand rest over his. She opened his menu, "Now have some real food." She teased him, smiling.

Mitch nodded softly and looked down at his menu. It would prove to be a hard habit to break, constantly being on edge scanning for threats. He smiled at her, "As long as it's edible,' he teased back. He never had issues with army food, he'd lived off it for so long.

Abby smiled, "Personally, I love the crab fries they have here." She said. "They are so good." She said. She looked over as the waiter appeared at their table. She ordered a water then closed her menu once she decided. "So, what did you decide to get?" She asked Mitch. She was glad he was home and she could get him the help he needed.

Mitch looked up at the waiter, tried to seem like he was comfortable, "the steak would be good," he said softly. It had been awhile since he'd had a decent steak. He smiled softly at Abby.

Abby watched as he ordered, "I am guessing you are going to relax for the next few days?" She asked him. "I do have to run to my office tomorrow at some point but you can just hang out at my place til I get back." She said. "We should probably stop at the grocery store on the way there too. I will need a few things." She said.

Mitch nodded watching her and listening, "Yeah I'll try keep out of trouble," he told her softly. He was finding it hard to talk about normal everyday things. He sat back scanning the room again.

Abby smiled at him, "Luckily for you there isn't much for you to do at my house that would get you into trouble." She said, looking over as their food was brought to them. She was pretty hungry after the flight. She began to eat her food, watching as Mitch looked around the resturant. She could tell by his body language that he wasn't comfortable. She looked at him, "Mitch, if you want to go we can." She told him. She didn't want him to feel uncomfortable even though she knew it was going to happen no matter what she did.

Mitch smiled at her softly, "No it's fine, I just break this habit, I'll probably always watch for threats no matter where I am," he admitted softly. He looked down and began eating himself, taking his time. He was glad she had come back with him, if she wasn't around he would of probably retreated inside and never gone out.

Abby nodded, "Okay, just say something if something gets to be too much." She said. Once they finished eating and paid the bill, she got up and walked to the car with him. She began driving to the grocery store that was near her house. "Is there anything you want from the store?" She asked. She wanted to make sure she got something that he would eat.

Mitch finished his meal in silence, he walked with her back to the car. He thought for a moment, "Just some decent meat and produce, I was getting sick of the crap we ate over there," he said softly. He was also considering whether he would drink again, but decided to wait on that a little bit.

Abby glanced at him, "Okay I can do that." She said as she parked in the parking lot. "I will be right back." She said, leaving him with the car keys. She got out of the car, then walked into the store, grabbing everything she thought she would need. Once she was done she went back to her car with the grocery bags and placed them in the backseat. "Alright we can finally go to my house." she said, laughing softly as she got in the car. She started it then headed to her house. Abby parked in her driveway, looking at her house. She had missed her home. It wasn't huge, but it was perfect for herself. She got out with him, grabbing her groceries, knowing she could come back out for the bags. She unlocked her door walking in, "Well, this is it." She said, smiling as she turned on some lights. She had her mom checking on her house while she was gone so it looked well taken care of. She set the bags on the counter, "You can set her stuff in the bedroom. It's the last door on the left." she said, watching him glance around.

[Should we have Mitch develop a slight drinking problem later on?]

    {that's what I was thinking :) }

Mitch looked around the small place, it was nice and homey. It didn't seem empty like his old place had. It felt like this place was whole, so to speak. He remained in the kitchen just looking out the window at the place. He had walked in and once again left his bags in the car. "I like the place, are we sharing a bedroom?" he asked her softly.

    [Perfect!]

Abby nodded, "Yes we are." She said. She walked out of the house grabbing her bag and bringing it inside. She set her bag on the floor by her dresser. "I'm going to go put the groceries away." She said. She walked to the kitchen, putting everything where it needed to be. It felt nice to finally be in her house and not have to be worried constantly. She found Mitch once she finished, "So, good enough?" She asked him as he looked around the house. She knew that he wasn't picky, but she liked teasing him anyway.

Mitch had decided to move his army trunk inside. He had placed in the bedroom out of the way. He also moved his small bag of civilian clothes into the room as well. He smiled when Abby came up to him again, "Yeah it's lovely, better than going back to an empty place," he told her honestly. He pulled her close and kissed her cheek, "thank you," he whispered

Abby smiled as she placed her hands on his sides, "You're welcome." She said, softly. She looked up at him for a moment, "Well, I guess we should probably unpack." She said. She hated unpacking the most. She pulled away from him slowly, then walked back to the bedroom. She began to empty her bag, thinking about Mitch. She was going to have to refer him to someone else now that he was living with her and they were involved in a romantic relationship.

Mitch followed her into the bedroom, and helped her unpack. He left most of his things in his bags, not really sure where to put them. He was sure that in time he'd find a place for his stuff. He was glad she was so nice and understanding of him. He had managed to build his ability to trust her, a feat that historically wasn't easy for him

Abby sat on her bed once she finished unpacking her stuff, "I can make room in the closet for more of your stuff tomorrow if you would like." She said, smiling at him. She knew he was probably in no rush, but she wanted him to feel more comfortable. She ran her fingers through her hair, "I guess we can go relax and watch tv now if you want." She suggested. She wanted to rest and forget about the long trip they had home.

Mitch smiled widely, "yeah just whenever you can is fine," he said softly. He moved over to the bed where she was sitting, "okay that sounds okay, but not the news, something cheery," he said softly. He didn't want to be reminded about the war. He took her hand and lead her out to the lounge.

Abby nodded, "A movie it is." She said. She sat with him on the couch, turning on the tv. She found a movie for them to watch, making sure it was something funny. She knew that he didn't want to watch anything that was upsetting. Abby leaned against Mitch as the movie started, her attention on the screen.
