Sometimes, the unexpected happens.

Abby was beginning to get irritated by Simon’s attempts to get her attention. She started to hope that he’d given up when there was a moment when he stopped, only to see a piece of paper land on her desk. Sighing, she opened it and read it. What Abby couldn’t understand was why Simon was going through so much trouble to get her attention?

She took her pen and quickly wrote: Nothing to be sorry for. I can’t, Emily and I have plans already, thanks though. She folded it in half again and tossed it back.

Jackson had copied the notes when he noticed Emily taping her foot. He took out a piece of paper and quickly wrote: is that Jupiter calling? He crumpled the paper and tossed it to her desk. The band was new, but he loved their stuff.

Emily was startled by the paper landing on her desk, having been in a world of her own. She looked around to see who had thrown it and noticed Jackson looking toward it, must be from him. She opened it up and read it, looking over at him with a smile. "No way, you've heard of them?" She whispered, pulling her hair behind her ear. Emily had always thought Jupiter were her and Abby's little secret.

Simon rolled his eyes and tried to think of a way to phrase his reply without coming off like a douche. "What Plans? Aren't Emily's parents like holier than thou? C'mon you can't turn down an Irishmans party" he tossed it back to her, watching to make sure the teacher hadn't noticed.

He had it all planned in his head, if Abby got overly suspicious he was goin. To play it off that Emily ha lived next to him his whole life and he felt bad that he never made an effort to get to know her or her friends. At least then she wouldn't pick up on his want to only get to know her- intimately.

Abby rolled her eyes slightly as she opened the paper, “We actually plan on going to see a band tonight, so I’m going to have to turn down your party.” She folded the paper and threw it back to him. She sighed, just wanting to get through class and hope that he wouldn’t be in her next class.

Jackson smiled when she looked at him, “Yeah, I heard about them from a friend.” He didn’t expect Emily to like the same band he did, “Did you hear about their gig tonight?” Jackson asked quietly.

Em could barely contain her excitement talking to him. "YEah Ab and me have tickets, I cant wait! Are you going?" she could see Miss Fitz looking in her and Jackson direction so she sank down in her seat, her eyes still darting over to him.

Simon rolled his eyes and let out a littlel laugh, "So come after them, I'm only right next to Emily's anyway. I feel bad being her neighboutr and not even knowing her or her friends" he told abby, standing up as the bell ran to signify the end of class. "Think about it" he threw her a wink and began to pack up his things.

“I’ll think about it,” Abby said as she gathered her things and walked out. She really had no intention of going to drink with Simon and the rest of his friends. Abby went to her locker to get her things for her next class and waited for Emily.

Jackson nodded, “Yeah, I’m going with a few of my friends.” He would be making his way to Simon’s after, he wasn’t going to miss his chance to see one of his favorite bands just to go drinking. “Maybe I’ll see you there,” he smiled over at her as the bell rang and he took his things and left.

"Yeah, maybe you will" Emily said with a small laugh. She began to pack up her things, watching him leave the roof. She didnt know much about Jackson, but he had just gone up in her estimation a lot. He was a lot nicer than most of friends.

She walked out of class and headed to her locker, seeing Abby waiting for her. "Tonight is gonna rock" she squeeled, before even getting her locker open.

Simon went about his day, paying a decent amount of attention in each class, he couldnt have everything go to shit this year, not after working so hard.Lunch eventually came and he headed to the cafeteria to meet up with Jackson and the others.

Abby made it through her classes until lunch, she smiled when she saw Emily, “I don’t even care about the rest of the day, I just want to go see the band and have fun.”

Jackson met up with Simon and the other guys at the cafeteria, “I’m going to be a little late when for drinks tonight.” He said as he got his food, “I’m going to a show with some guys, but I’ll be there after.”

Emily nodded happily, taking a smal lunch and sitting at the table. "I was thinking okay... my mom keeps this bottle of vodka in the house just in case we have a visitor who wants a drink- it literally has not bee touched in 5 years. What do you say to shots before hand?" Emily asked her friend, almost giggling with giddiness.

Simon raised an eye "What show, and which guys?" He asked curiously, he had never been aware Jackson had another group of friends, and he strangely felt hurt by it. "How late are you going to be?" Girl pushed agin, pulling the beanie hat further down over his head.

Hearing Emily mention vodka, Abby smiled, “Shots sound like even more fun.” She took a few bites of her lunch, “Simon invited us to his place for drinks after the show tonight.”

Jackson looked at him, “My cousin and a few of his friends, Jupiter calling.” He really didn’t think that Simon would mind much. “Not too late, don’t worry, I’ll still make it,” he said as he got his lunch.

Emily smiled as her friend agreed to the vodka, tonight was gonna to be the absolute bet start the school year she could have imaginied. Almost choking on her sandwich, she looked up at Abby her eyes wide. "Simon Delaney? Why on earth did he invite us to his house??@ she asked? Putting her sandwich down and staring at his friend.

Simon shrugged and looked down at his lunch tray. "Okay man, your call" he said and took a large bite out his apple. "Abby and Emily might be coming."

Abby nodded at Emily’s question, “Yeah, he’s been talking to me ever since we got off the bus. He said something about feeling bad about never taking the time to get to know you or your friends, but I honestly don’t buy it.” She told her friend as she took a sip of her drink.

“They’re going to the Jupiter calling show too,” Jackson said as he ate his food. He knew Simon was trying to get Abby’s attention and that knowing the girls would be at the show would get Simon’s attention. “But, I’ll be there after it’s over,” he told him.

Emily shook her head, taking another bit of her sandwich. "That doesn't seem right... he's lived next to me for 16 years now, and he's never made an effort to know me- other than belittle me". Her face scrunched up a little as she thought about it, suddenly bursting in to laughter, her sand which nearly falling out. "Oh my god what if he's trying to fuck me.." she exclaimed. It was one set back of Emily's, she had always been a little self centred.

"What if he's one of those guys who still thinks being mean to someone in the playground means you like them!" Em was almost bent in two laughing.

"How do you know that's where they're going?" He pushed again, dropping his apple back in to his lunch tray. "Have you got a spare ticket to these junipers calling gig?" He asked hopefully, ignoring the stares from the other guys.

"You said beers at your place man!" Conor exclaimed? Throwing a doesn't look in Simon's way.

He sighed "okay okay.. I'm a man of my word... but Jackson, at least try and get Abby back to my place will you?"

Abby nodded, it wasn’t adding up, especially since Simon was known to be very planned, everything he did was thought out. “It doesn’t add up, he’s never said anything nice to either of us,” she couldn’t help noticing that Emily made it about herself.

She started laughing at her comment, “You think so? Maybe he’s trying to get to you through me.” She raised an eyebrow as she looked at Emily.

“Emily told me in class,” Jackson shook his head when Simon asked about an extra ticket. He knew Simon wouldn’t back down from his drinking so he nodded when Simon asked about getting Abby there. “I’ll do my best to get her there, but what about Emily? I doubt she’ll come without Emily,” he said.

Barely able to speak through her laughter, Emily manages to wheeze out "eel hey.. he is gonna be super rich some day". Tears were streaming out of her eyes from mocking Simon at this stage, but one look at her best friend and Rmoly could tell she had turned it around on herself again.

"I'm sorry em.." she said reaching her hand out to take Emily's. "Maybe he does just want to get to know us" she shrugged and gave her hands friend a squeeze. "Just be careful around him, I don't trust him at all".

"Man, are you gone soft on her or something? First you help her after she tried to make a tool of us and now you're off to gigs together" he rolled his eyes looking around st all of the guys. "But yeah, if she wants to come bring her along we'll find fine way of separating them".

"You guys everhonk theatre lesbians?" One of the other guys interjected. "I heard a rumour that they have to act like best friends to hide it cos their parents are so strict"

“Money isn’t worth it,” Abby laughed softly, shaking her head. Of course she didn’t really have anything against Simon, but he wasn’t the type of guy that Abby would enjoy being around. She still felt like he had an underlying motive, it just didn’t make sense.

She smiled over at Emily, “I highly doubt it, he doesn’t seem like the type that would just change his mind...” Abby knew Emily wouldn’t trust Simon, “I know, I don’t trust him either...”

Jackson shook his head at Simon, “No, it just so happens that I like the same band as her, and maybe it would help to get to know a girl before you try and get in a girls pants.” He knew Simon wanted to get with Abby, but he didn’t think it would happen.

He rolled his eyes at the comment, “I don’t think they’re lesbians, besides, it’s not like any of us ever took the time to talk to them before now.” He added, glancing over at the girls.

Emily shook her head "There's always a plan of some sort with him... I'm sure we'll figure it out, but we can't go there tonight". She held her pinky out to Abby, to make a promise they would both stay away.

She looked up and caught Jackson looking toward them, she shot him a smile and looked back down. "but in terms of that group... it was super weird but in English I was tapping the beat to Hello nobody, and Jackson picked up on it.. he's a fan?"

Simon glanced at Jackson and gave him a weird look, his eyebrows creasing in a confused motion. "I'm only having a laugh as usual mate, no need to get your pants in a twist..."

He knew Simon never joined in when they spoke about people, but he had never noticed him being so protective. "Look man, if Abby comes tonightI'll just talk to her, see where I stand, figure out whether she's straight, right?"

Abby nodded, agreeing with her friend that Simon must have a motive behind his change in personality, “Deal, but that means we can’t let Jackson get to you either, they are friends after all, who says they aren’t in on it together?” She told her.

“I think I over heard him talking about them before, but I didn’t pay much attention to it,” Abby told her, hating that her friend was probably right and that the boys probably had their reasons for suddenly being so nice.

“I will, Dont worry,” Jackson told Simon, “I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.” He figured the girls had to be suspicious, especislly since Jackson and Simon never took a second look in their direction before.

He sighed, noticing that the girls were whispering and looking in their direction again, “I think they’re a little weary of both of us...” he said to Simon, nodding towards the girls when they looked away.

Emily squeezed her pinky to Abby's and nodded "Ahreed, neither of us go near those boys until we know what's up". She hated to think the Jackson was only being nice to her for a hidden motive, but she knew Abby was probably right. Maybe they were playing good cop bad cop on them.

"Anyway, tonight is going to be awesome! I heard that they're gonna release a new song tonight

Simon high fived Jackson "Man senior year will be great.." he laughed and continues to eat his lunch, glancing over at the two girls.

"Yeah I guess... we'll change that don't you worry!"

(Sorry girl it's really short, I'm literally on a 10 minute break from work!)

Abby nodded, she wanted to have the benefit of the doubt when it came to Simon, but she knew better. She hated to admit it, but part of her wanted to get to know Simon.

“Oh I hope so, that would be awesome,” she laughed softly, smiling.

“It’s going to be great,” Jackson smiled, he was going to try his hardest to get Emily to trust him. “I’ll get Abby to your place tonight and get Emily away from her,” he told Simon.
