A Step in the Wrong Direction

Jason glanced over seeing Donovan with Effy and was glad that she seemed to have gotten something from him. He then stretched again trying to hyper their team up. When the whistle blew for the match to begin, they all got into position. Jase made sure his guys were focused telling them to ignore the other ones as best as they could. They weren't the focus of the game. Winning was, or at least having fun was the goal as well.

He sighed once halftime was there. They were tied at the moment. He clapped his teammates on the back before heading and getting some water. He jogged to the bleacher seats to speak with his dad. He grinned giving him a fist bump. While Thomas and Kate were speaking, he looked Effy giving her a nod before saying, "How low did you get him?" He gave her a grin before hearing the whistle blow again. He waved before grabbing his helmet and heading back into the fray. They ended up winning by his goal. He cheered with the rest of his team. He met his dad telling him he'd see him later and that he'd have someone give him and Effy a ride. He then headed into the locker room. He showered, and changed into a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt that showed how toned he was. He headed out, and saw Effy and walked over.

Rae laughed and said, "Yeah, well, not the first time a slimey guy has put his hands on me. Usually, though, he ends up getting punched by me, not someone else." She giggled before smiling back and gave him a nod. She offered him a water before getting her own and sipping on it, glad that she was no longer in the heat. She rana hand throughout her red hair before turning back seeing him blushing thinking it was cute.

She smiled and blinked hearing his words and just gave a laugh shrugging. "I guess so. I mean people normally tell me I am." She told him looking up to meet his gaze. She was surprised to hear the way he was laughing and chuckled shaking her head, "No, I think you misinterpreted what I meant. I meant at the game when you came up to me after talking to your sister, which by the way, is adorable." She gave him a grin before running a hand through her hair again and tilted her neck to the side happy when it gave a sickening pop. She did it towards the other side and was glad that she felt better. She looked back at him watching for a moment. "You don't seem like the type to really like these parties." She admitted before hearing a commotion and looking up seeing guys crowded around one another cheering as one of them was doing a keg stand. She shook her head disgusted.

Effy smiled at Jason as he came over to them all at half five, she was Fried now, so being cheeky with him was gonna be a lot harder. "Six dollars, Fucker wouldn't settle for five! she told him with a laugh, running a hand through her long blonde hair pushing it behind her ear. she watched as he ran off back on to the pitch, watching the tones muscles in his legs contract as he ran. she nibbled gently on her lower lip, trying her hardest to focus on the second half of the game.

After her mom and Thomas left, Effy went to stand over by the locker rooms so that Jason could find her easily after the game. In all of the business, and probably her own attitude earlier in the day she had forgotten to get him and Thomas' numbers in case of emergency. it was a nice warm evening so Ef took of her denim jack, leaving her shoulder and back exposed to the sun, smiling as the heat radiated down on her. it was just beginning to set, her favourite time of the day. She waved once she saw Jason walking towards her... he even looked like a god in just a plain T-shirt. Trust her luck to end up having to call the hot guy her step-brother. "Hey, so how are we getting there? she asked him, having to nearly jog every couple of steps he took to keep up he was that much taller than her.

Jack laughed along with her as she made a joke about slimey guys. In the back of his head he was hoping that she didnt think he was one of them. he had dropped her a message out of nowhere asking her to meet him at a party. he ran a hand throughh his hair after realising she didnt mean his instagram and chuckled "Oh yeah, That's Lucy. She's a little princess but we're really close, she's my little shadow"he said, a smile on his face as he thought back to his little sister calling Rae pretty. "You should meet her sometime, she'd really like it. Shes obsessed with red hair since watching the little mermaid. We found her in the bath tub one day dumping a whole bottle of Ketchup over her hair telling us she was trying to dye it" he said with a laugh taking a sip of the water she had given him and took a look around, people were already beginning to get drunk.

"Yeah, I mean I come to them all, but I don't wanna mess up my chance at getting a scolarsghip by getting too drunk and doing something I'd regret."

Jason gave her a laugh hearing her words and said, "Well, he usually charges like fifteen, so you got quite the deal." He replied with a laugh. He shook his head and watched her thinking it was quite unfair that she was his new sister. She was gorgeous and if she had been just a new kid, he would have gone after her and tried to date her. He let out a sigh in his head before running a hand throughout his hair.

He found her and said, "We'll catch a ride with my best friend." He told her before, nodding his head, "Come on." He said beckoning her forward and beginning to walk towards the parking lot. He slowed down seeing her having trouble keeping up. "My bad." He told her. "I forgot that you were tiny." He teased with a grin before seeing AJ. "Who's that babe?" AJ catcalled seeing Effy. "Dude." Jason said staring at him before laughing and said, "That's going to be my new stepsister in a month." He informed him crossing his arms over his chest. "I would say be nice, but she can handle herself, so beware." He told him before clapping him on the back and getting in the car. He took the passenger seat and said, "Where's the party this time?" He questioned looking up at AJ as he said it was at Donovans. "That's rare." he muttered.

Rae smiled and nodded, "She's adorable." She told him and said, "But i'm pretty sure she already knows that." She grinned. "I'd love to baby sit her, if your dad needs one." She told him. She didn't want to get a job in fast food nor did she want to get one in places such as stores like Walmart. She liked babysitting. She enjoyed kids. She blinked hearing his story and laughed shaking her head, "I used to put kool-aid in my hair before I discovered hair dye." She admitted to him. She raised her hand and started to play with her nose piercing.

Hearing his words, she laughed and said, "I don't drink publically. I don't drink normally except on occasion. Even if I do, I don't drink enough to get drunk." She told him shrugging. "It doesn't really do much for me. I don't like the feeling." She sighed before turning and looking at him. "I am seriously confused on how we've never seen each other though. You're only a year above me, and I'm taking senior classes right now." she told him.

Eddy nodded as the crossed the car park, sticking her tongue out at him as he mocked her being small. "Hey! I might be small but I could still probably kick you in the head!" She teased, kicking her leg up in the air as they walked, laughing to herself as it extended into a near split. She placed it back on the ground and fixed her skirt again to make sure nothing was showing.

A blush spread underneath her freckles as Jason's friend, this AJ guy shouted across the car park calling her a babe. She waited til they got a little closer to the car and she rolled her eyes at him. "The babe has a name... hi I'm Effy" she told him, smiling as the boys embraced each other in a bro hug. "Do you play too?" She asked him, as she climbed into the back seat. She hoped neither of them had noticed the small twitch in her face as Jase had verbally reminded her that they were in. Fact going to be family. "Does Donovan not have parties often or something?" She asked, confused seen as he seemed to be a fairly well known dealer.

Jack nodded enthusiastically "Yeah I'll let him know, he works late sometimes and if I've got training it can be hard to find someone to watch her, so that would be great!" He thought it would be pretty cool to have Rae around the house when he came home sometimes too. He laughed "well it does look like candy or something, so I guess it's fitting for it to taste that way too" he teased.

He nodded in agreement as she spoke about alcohol, it had never done much for him either. "Yeah, I mean... I'm not exactly on many AP classes classes" he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck slightly embarrassed. "And I usually go off campus to eat lunch, so maybe that's why". He gently reached his hand out to brush her cheek, holding up a finger, he showed her the loose eyelash he had brushed off. "Make a wish".

Jason laughed shaking his head gently and said, "Probably could." He replied as he awtched her and shook his head laughing when he saw her do the splits and had to admit that she was extremely flexible and he wanted to know what that would like..No, he couldn't think about that.

He noticed her blush and just smiled softly before yawning and stretching. "Damn. That game wasn't easy was it?" He asked AJ before watching him for a moment and running a hand throughout his hair again. He looked up hearing Effy and smiled when Aj told her that he did play. "He's out goalie." Jason explained. He grinned at him before listening to her question and sighed. "Not normally. Usually he just shadows people waiting for some people to buy." He admitted. Once they were at the house, Jason walked with Effy inside and then introduced her to some of the other cheerleader looking over when he felt a hand snake around his neck and heard giggling. "Oh, hi Monica." He murmured feeling her grab his butt. Clearing his throat, he removed himself from her grip and waved to Effy before going to find something to drink.

Rae smiled seeing that he was so enthusiastic about it. She smiled her pretty peridot eyes gleaming. She then nodded in agreement. "I wouldn't mind. I'm sure we'd get along." She told him and smiled. "I suppose so." She laughed before smiling softly.

"That just means you enjoy having a social like." Rae told him with a laugh. "It doesn't really mean anything in my opinion." She explained. "Oh, that may be it." She said thinking before blinking feeling his finger brushing her cheek a small blush formed across her cheeks. She saw an eyelash and just laughed before blowing it gently. "Thanks." She told him. It was getting pretty noisy in the house. "Would you like to go for a walk?" She questioned, tilting her head back to look up at him waiting for his answer. She stood up, stretching a little, and smiled at him. She wondered if he was going to be worth her time or not, or if he was going to be a guy just wanting to get laid.

Effy strolled into the house with the two guys, immediately feeling eyes turn in her direction. She sure was glad she smoked some pot before getting here, because she could only imagine how intimidated she would feel if she hadn't.

She waved at Jason and Aj as he pointed her in the direction of the other cheerleaders, watching out of the corner of her eye as she saw a girl wrap herself around her new big brother. She felt a slight pang of jealousy for no good reason, and turned around quickly to ensure it didn't show on her face. She was met with a sea of faces looking back at her. Effy gave a nervous chuckle and waved. "Ah hi guys, I'm Effy- before she could say any more she was cut off by one of the girls abruptly asking "Are you dating Jase?" Effy burst in to laughter shaking her head. "No no, my mom is marrying his dad, I just moved down here from Washington". The girls all nodded, the tension in their faces letting up a little. "hey you look familiar? Where do I know you from?" another interjected. Effy just shrugged "Umm I cheered for Kennedy Heights High? I think we came up against you guys at nationals last year?" she suggested, choosing not to mention that they also beat them at nationals. There was a quick scurry as the girls threw looks between one another, with first girl asking,"you weren't Their Captain by any chance we're you..?"

Effy nodded proudly, setting the girls in to a frenzy of "we need to find d Monica". The same girl who had been asking the questions grabbed her arm and pulled her aside. She Introduced herself as Eryka and quickly began talking to her in a hushed tone." Girl, get yourself out of here fast. It might have just been fun to you at the time, but at nationals last year you slept with one of our bases and somehow inured his wrist. He dropped his flyer in the competition and broke her nose. She's been out for your blood ever since". Effy thanked her for the heads up and decided to head to the kitchen for a drink.

Jack couldn't help but get lost for a few seconds in her eyes, they were so bright he couldn't keep his eyes off them. He jolted back into the real world and quickly pulled out his cell. "hey, give me your number, I'll pass it along to my dad." he rushed and help the iPhone our to her.

Somehow she looked even more beautiful as she blushed, her hair emulating the redness of her cheeks, this girl was more spectacular than anything Jack could have imagined- and he had to admit, he had always had a bit of a thing for Ariel too. He smiled brightly as she suggested they get out of there. "Yeah a walk would be great, let's get going" he said and placed his hand on the small of her backesdibg her out of the party.

The sky was clear and a full moon hung amongst the stars, it was a perfect night to be outside. "So how about you, any brothers or sisters?" he asked, kindly listening interesting, silly for her response.

Jason was getting shit from AJ about avoiding Monica again. He shook his head whispering to him that she was bitch and he wanted nothing to do with her. He sighed when he heard him begin to just blather on about everyone and just laughed listening to him for a moment longer before shaking him off and pushing him towards another girl that had been flirting with him all night.

He smiled to himself for a moment while he noticed girls watching him but knew he wasn't interested in thenm and he was sure that they only like him because he was positive they were only interested in him because of his status and the fact that he was co-captain of the team. He yawned heading to the kitchen wanting to get something to drink. He was surprised to find Effy in there. "What's wrong?" He asked seeing the look on her face and raised an eyebrow wondering if something was wrong.

Rae noticed him staring a little longer than he should have and just smiled at him before saying, "Alright." She took his phone and put her number in before handing it back before blinking nad said, "Wait, was that just a ploy to get my number?" She questioned laughing as she did so.

She laughed and said, "Alright." She was well aware of his hand on the small of her back adn blushed a little before heading through the crowd towards outside. Once there, she breathed in the fresh air and just slowed her pace liking the walk that she had. She shook her head. "No, i'm an only child." She admitted to him. "It's just my mother and me." She let him know before looking at him. "And I'm going to guess that your sister is your only sibling?" She question before blushing from embarrassment not wanting to ask too much and be seen as prying.

Effy stood in the kitchen, holding a beer in her hand. She had only taken two sips and did not understand how anybody drank this piss water. She glanced up at the door, a worried expression on her face every time it opened, afraid it was going to be that Monica girl coming to break her nose in return. At one point when she looked up she realised it was Jason who asked her if something was up. She stared sat him for a minute trying to decide if it would be a good idea to tell him, suddenly her mouth opened a stage words just came spewing out.

"Do well, there was this weird tension because everyone thought I was dating you but then I told them that I'm not and it was fine. Do then we started talking and they realised I was the old captain of Kennedy heights and so it turns out that last year at nationals I was making out with this guy and he tried to make a move on me, but I didn't want to and I stomped on his wrist to get him to stop. Anyway they think I slept with him andI totally didn't but apparently I really hurt his wrist because in the competition he dropped some other girl in the squad on the floor, so by proxy I broke her nose and apparently she's had it out for me since" she gushed, barely taking a breath between sentences. She the just stared at Jason blankly waiting for his reply.

Jack's face went bright red as she handed him back her phone e, stumbling over his words as he tried to talk. "what uh, no uh it's uh it's totally just for my dad!" he told her, his while body cringing as he thought about it. He should ha r just said yes and played it cool. He sighed, glad to be getting out of the heat of the party.

He listened carefully as she spoke about her and her mom, Jack wanted to know absolutely everything he could about this girl. She just amazed him, and he even felt so instantly comfortable around her. Up until then he would've always called bulls hit on love at first site, but he was beginning to change his mind.

"ah yeah, it's just me my dad and lucy" he told her gently, debating in his own head whether to continue or not. He felt so comfortable with her he felt compelled to. "uh, my mom had me young, so that's why there's such a big gap between me and lu. When my mom had Lucy, the doctors never picked up on a weakness in her heart. As she was giving birth her brain clotted and she slipped in to a coma.. Dad turned of her machine later that day, so Lucy is like my little piece of her that lives on in the world" he told her, providing a soft smile to try and tear up the tension. "I didn't mean to bring down the mood, I was 12 so I understood enough to process it. Sorry I just feel really comfortable telling you, stop me if it's too much..."Hé ran his hand through his hair nervously, hoping he hadn't totally freaked her out.

Jason looked at her and was almost shocked to hear her and then busted out laughing holding his stomach as he did so. "I'm so sorry. I'm not laughing at you--" He started up again before leaning over the counter and saying, "She deserved it. Please don't beat yourself up over it. That dude who's wrist you had hurt, had it coming." He told her. "He shouldn't have been trying to force you to do anything. Who was it?" He asked knowing that if he got a name, he'd punch the guy's lights out.

"Monica's a bitch, okay? Like straight up." He shook his head. "You should go for the team and see what happens. I'm sure not everyone is mad at you. Besides, since you're good, I'm sure they'll get over it considering they have competition in a few months." He informed her giving her a smile to hopefully ease her worry. "It'll be fine." He told her shrugging. "Now, calm down." He told her with a smile before sitting down on the counter getting a handful of chips and beginning to eat them. He stayed hungry.

Rae smiled and said, "Oh, well, does that meant you aren't going to text me?" She questioned with a smile laughing softly before running a hand through her hair once more. She nodded and looked up at him as he spoke about his mother. She frowned softly before seeing him smile and said, "Well, I'm so sorry." She told him sighing.

"My dad walked out on us when I was 14." She admitted. "So, it's only been around three years. He was cheating on my mom with his secretary." She laughed hollowly and said, "He doesn't even come and visit me. I haven't gotten a happy birthday in years." She admitted before saying, "It's okay, though. We're better off without him." She told him before turning to look at him shaking her head gently and saying, "Well, why aren't you captain?" She questioned him trying to switch the conversation so they didn't get too wound up in depression conversation.

Effy pouted and crossed her arms across her chest, pushing up her cleavage as he laughed. She stopped pouting as she realised he wasn't actually laughing at her. "ahhh, I think his name was Tray Summers or something like that? I just remember his initials being TS because he had it embroidered on his uniform" she told him, rolling her eyes.

She was thankful of his reassurances a d belief in her, but before she could express it to him, her face lit up bright. "I didn't know there was chips there! I'm starving." she exclaimed, making her way over to the bowl and shoving a large handful into her mouth all at once and topping it off with a scoop of salsa added by her finger. She looked over at him, and started laughing, covering her mouth so she wouldn't spray food everywhere. She realised how unattractive she must have looked stuffing her face.

"I mean, I can text you if you want to..." Jack replied, a sly grin on his face as he looked to her.

He listened to her story about her dad, feeling really sad for her. At least he knew his mom was gone. He couldn't imagine how it would feel to know your parents t was out there somewhere, but still not there for every birthday a d holiday. "I'm sorry about your dad... He's missing out on a great kid" he told her honestly, and decided to take a risk. He smoothly lifted his arm and gently placed it over her shoulder, pulling her closer to him as they walked.

In all honesty, a didn't want to be captain" he admitted with a shrug. "It's too much responsibility"

Jason laughed and said, "Ahh, I know who it is." He replied. "I'll take care of it." He grinned flashing her a wink before laughing seeing her get super excited about the chips. "Ahh, the munchies." He teased knowing he didn't smoke but a few times, and didn't really prefer it, but he knew exactly what she was feeling. He smiled softly.

He saw her start to laugh and grinned before sitting down in the bar stool next to her and just sipped on his drink before he asked, "Well, food is a natural source of energy." He made a face at her before beginning to eat as well. He looked up seeing Monica and sighed before he made a face behind her back so that Effy could see. "Jase!!" She lit up like a christmas tree and sauntered her way towards him before plopping herself right on his lap. "Uh, hey, Monica." He muttered before sighing and saw her look at Effy suspiciously before beginning to get angry and said, "You're that bitch that broke my fucking nose!" Jason frowned before pushing her off of his lap and said, "Hey, step off. That's my step sister." He told her. She looked at him confused before saying, "what?" She looked horrified.

Rae laughed and said, "I don't mind." She saw his grin and shook her head thinking he was cute beyond words.

She smiled and laughed hearing his words and said, "I mean. I don't really mind. Just wish he at least would help my mom pay for volleyball and things like that so she didn't have to work all the time." She explained running a hand through her hair before feeling him wrap his arm around her shoulder and pull her closer. She smiled to herself gently. Listening to his words, she gave him a nod and said, "Slacker." She was only teasing and grinning looking at him before making a face with a little laugh. She was glad she had decided to come to this party.

Remy smiled at him, she didnt actually expect him to do anything to this guy, but it was nice of him to offer. she swallowed what was in her mouth and laughed. "Okay wait you have to try this.. trust me its delicious." remy picked up two chips and layed them on the counter. she dolloped some guac on them, sprinkled a few crispy m&ms and topped it off with two cheetos. "Trusted me it looks gross, but its amazing" she held it out to him, feeding it in to his mouth with a giggle. "Good right?"

Before he could answer, she heard a sqealing female enter the kitchen shouting her brothers name. She caught the look he through her and laughed, she was confused though, it was the girl she had seen him with earlier, was he not with her? she shoved her chip sandwich in her mouth getting ready to leave the two alone seen as this mistery girl was practically humping him on the bar stool. Suddenly she saw the girls face contort in anger and begin to get mad at her. She swallowed hard, the food going down the wrong way. Effy began to cough and splurt and trying to get her breathing back to normal. She feltthrilled that he was sticking up for her to this girl, almost forgetting he was doing it as her brother, not a crush. she grabbed at a beer trying to wash down the remnants of the chip still stuck in her throat and composed herself.

Allowing a sly smile to spread across her face, she looked down at Monica and raised an eyebrow. "Oh honey, the new one looks much better anyway. You're welcome." she winked and straightened up, glancing over at Jason for approval.

He rolled his eyes at her and laughed knowing she was joking, but still wanting to vindicate himself. "Hey, I also work at the movie theatres on a sunday" he told her, hoping she wouldnt ask for details. He had the easiest job going. He just set up the projecters and pressed play. For the most part he just got to watch free films.

He lead her to the right, heading over towards the playground so they could sit on the swings. "And you? What's your excuse. Last I heard Lindsay Shaw was volleyball captain" he teased, pulling a face back at her. Even in the moonlight, her hair shone the colour of a ruby. He really couldn't understand how he had never noticed her before. Even if her hair hadn't been thsi colour, she had a beautiful face. Each of her features was unique, but each complimented the other. He could spend the whole night just looking in to her eyes.

Jason wraised an eyebrow watching her lay out the the guac with m&ms and cheetos. He said, "What in the hell?" He laughed before taking a bite and shook his head tasting it and muttered, "Where in the world did you figure this out? This is like some Frankenstein shit." He laughed unable to control himself.

He sat up quickly seeing her choking and stood there unable to really do anything. He gently rubbed her back softly hoping to help a little. When she finally spoke he had a real hard time controlling his laughter and finally tipped over the counter and laughed shaking his head before hearing a high pitched voice go, "JASE!" He looked at her and started laughing again, "I'm so s-sorry." He breathed laughing again before sighing and sitting up. "It's not like she did it just to spite you, Monica. Grow up. That's some seriously master evil shit." He told her sighing as she hugged him and he shook his head trying to get her off. "Monica! I told you last year, I'm not interested!" He tried to say befoer AJ come in and called her a skank. She stormed off. He sighed and muttered, "She's psycho." He looked over at Effy and asked, "Are you okay?" He asked her a sweet look on his face as he did so.

"Oh yeah? Concessions?" She asked him with a smile as she hummed softly a little still hearing he music from the house playing. She laughed softly and replied, "Lindsay Shaw is more popular than me. And I'm junior, whereas she is a senior. Seniority always wins." She winked before smiling seeing his face and couldn't help but laugh. She saw the swings and walked over to them before plopping down in one and beginning to swing her legs. She smiled up at the sky and murmured, "Do you ever think that the stars are lost souls and the ones that are in clusters are the ones that have found their soul mates?"

She then blushed and laughed. "I'm sorry, I probably sound like a lunatic." She admitted turning to watch his face. He was cute and he was more than a little sweet. She figured she hadn't noticed him because they didn't have any classes together and none of his friends really knew her friends. She only knew Derek because her mom and his mom were tight. She ran a hand through her hair before getting annoyed with it. Gathering all of it up into her hands, she pulled it into a messy bun glad that it was out of her face. She then turned her sapphire eyes to him with a smile watching and waiting for an answer. She was absentmindedly pushing herself back and forth on the swing calmly.

Effy shot a gratefull look in Jasons direction as he rubbed her back.she tried her hardest not to break her smirk as she stared Monica down, it was hard with Jason wetting himslef right next to but, but hse held firm. As monica once again called out Jasons name, she wondered how one little pair of vocal chords could reacha pitch that high. she listened to Jasons comment and shrugged, "Hmm, maybe if I knew her I might've." she paused to pop another m&m in her mouth, her eyes never leaving Monica's face. "But your right Jase, I didnt know her, so unfortunetely i hadn't planned to hurt you Monica. But I'm sure it can be arranged?" she commented, crossing her ams across her chest and taking a step back.

she let out a sigh of relief as she stormed off and shook her head at Jason. "I may as well have just painted a target on my back, mightn't I?" she asked him, although the cheeky hint of a smirk still resided on her face. "Yeah I'm good, have you realised she like obsessed with you?" she teased, her ovaries clenching at just how kind the look on his face toward her was. She was starting to have enough of the party and hoped he would want to leave soon.

Jack shook his head and chuckled, "You got me.. I'm the guy who starts the projector". he watched as she swayed softly on the swings, staying stationary himself. "Well Lindsay Shaw doesnt deserve to be more popular than you" he commented kindly, turning his whole body toward her, just wanting to forget there was anybody but the two of them in the world for just a minute.

he glanced up at the stars as she began to talk about them, taking in their twinkling beauty. "I had never thought of it that way, but I like it." he watched them, deciding that the brightest in the sky was his mom, just waiting for his Dad to come and join her eventually. he looked back at her, his face full of kindness as he shook his head. "You don't sound like a lunatic, it's a cool thought" he reassured her. She looked even more beautiful with her hair tied back, allowing all of her features to stand out. Jason gave her a nod seeing the look she gave him. He looked back at Monica and sighed watching her and shook his head putting his face in his hands and laughed hearing her and shook his head and said, "You might have. Especially if you do decide to go through with joining." He offered with a smile. "And I'm sorry, but I can't help in that territory." He said to her. He laughed and waited talking to AJ knowing they would probably have to wait for him to be able to leave.

He looked down and said, "No, I'm completely oblivious to that fact that wherever I go, I see a little shadow in my periphereal(sp?)" He laughed shaking his head and sighed sitting down again. He smiled again and said, "I have tried everything. I've been an ass, been a dick, she just tries harder at that point." He explained shaking his head. "It's getting extremely annoying especially when you're speaking to someone and then suddenly you have a 120 pound girl in your lap trying to dry hump." He told her shaking his head again.

Rae let out a laugh before saying, "Well, the projector guy is the most important. He makes sure the movies get played." She pointed out watching him before smiling at him. "Well, thank you, but seniority wins." She pushed a strand of hair out of her hair as she wrapped her hands around the chains of the swing she was currently on.

She looked back hearing his words and was glad that someone didn't think her theory was stupid. She was an athiest and very rarely expressed her beliefs due to people. She nodded and said, "Well, thanks, that's how I think of it." She replied. She laughed again before hearing his words, turning to look at him and smiled before saying, "I think i'd like it. Only if you decide to sit with me at lunch, though." She said teasingly winking at him before humming again and yawning before asking, "Do you know what time it is?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side.

Remy shrugged "I have a thick skin, I'm sure I can manage" she sometimes hated how she always felt such a need to fight her corner, it often landed her in more trouble than it did good, but she always just plastered on a smile and said something else snarky to deflect from her feelings getting hurt.

She took a seat on the chair next to his and turned to face him, their knees touching. She laughed softly as he mocked the fact she was always trying to dry hump him, shaking her head. "I've just never understood people like that.. how can you have so little confidence in yourself to think thats how you need to act to get a guy to like you" she asked, more rhetoric than anything. she sighed and looked down at her knees. "Hey look.. I'm sorry for being a dick earlier... I can't promise that I'll always be nice, but I'll try harder, okay?" she told him, flashing an apologetic smile in his direction. Her tolerance for thsi new town was draining and she decided she had had enough. "Hey, I think I'm gonna call myself a cab. It's been a long day".

Jack laughed again and shook his head "If only I could claim that was true too, but the projecters actaually start autmatically if they havent been played in over an hour, so realistically the movie will play in time anyway".

"I would be more than please to sit with with you at Lunch Rae, but you need to promise you'll always be at the ready to clean up my face again, okay? he joked and began to kick out his feet to make the swing move a little. "It's just gone 12, you need a ride home?" he offered her, watching as her eyes seemed to grow a little heavier with tiredness.

Jason laughed and said, "I figured as much, but it helps to have someone to help." He replied watching her before blinking when he saw her take a seat in front of him, their knees touching. Her skin was softer and he wondered what the rest of her skin felt like. He shook his head at the thought knowing that they couldn't be like that ever.

He chuckled and said, "I mean, I have no clue." He replied. "Honestly, I'm not even sure how she started to like me in the first place. I didn't even know her until last year." He explained. He laughed again smiling and then blinked hearing her words and said, "Alright. Whatever you give though, I'm going to give back, so don't get mad if it doesn't go well." He teased. He nodded and blinked before shaking his head. "AJ, you ready?" Aj gave a nod and flashed a grin at Remy. "This place sucks." He teased before Jason said, "Just ask next time." He smiled at her winking before standing up and heading outside with Effy.

Rae laughed and said, "Oh, well, don't tell anyone else." She replied with a grin unable to help herself. "Well, that's cool." She told him and ran a hand through her hair to make sure it was still up.

She laughed and said, "Alright, and fine, I guess it's not too much trouble." She teased him back. She knew they had school in a couple of days and needed to fix her sleep schedule. She nodded hearing his words, "Please." She bit down on her lip and said, "I didn't know you had a car." She teased him a small smile filling her features as she did so. She stood up and stretched before apologizing. "I'm sorry, my friends dragged me almost everywhere today." She explained with a laugh.

"Well thanks for the offer anyway." She. Told him, letting out a yawn and stretching her arms back. "You think Kate and Thomas will be gone to bed? I don't know if I can handle their questions this baked" Effy told him with a laugh, deviding to ingnore the "I'll give back" comment, maybe it was just her mind or else she had some serious flowers in the attic problems, but she couldn't help of thinking of that sentence in a sexual manner.

"I didn't want you or AJ feeling you had to leave on my part" she told the two guys kindly, smiling as AJ said it sucked anyway. She could feel butterflies in her stomach when Jase winked at her yet again... she really needed to find another guy and get over this, it was starting to get weird. The blonde watched all day the buildings passing as they drove home, trying to map in her head where their house was in relation to everything else. Once the car stopped she leaned forward and gave Aj a quick peck on the cheek. "Thanks for the ride, see you Monday!" She said hopping out of the car and running toward the front door.

He chuckled "I get to watch most of the movies for free, you should come hang out with me there some day, any movie and all the popcorn you want" he promised her, his eyes brigh as he smiled at the thought of spending more time with more.

He held up a pair of keys to her and smirked "I don't, but I'm Shauns DD for the night so we can take his" he informed her as they began to walk back to the house. "It was really great talking to you Rae, I can't believe it took this long for us to notice each other." He chuckled and opened the passangwr door of the wine car for her. "That's more than okay, plenty more time for us to hang out. Don't worry about it".

Jason smiled and nodded. Listening to her question, he shook his head. "I don't know about Kate but my dad will be awake. He waits until I get home most nights until he crashes." He admitted. "Ever since my mom passed away when I was like 3, he's gotten really protective." He told her. He smiled and went before getting in the car.

Once he was home, he noticed her kis AJ on the cheek and felt a twinge of annoyance as well as jealously, ubut pushed it away not wanting to cause anything. He ran a hand through his hair and smield. He went inside seeing his dad and laughed nodding his head. He then told his dad goodnight before heading upstairs to his room. He then took his shirt off, before putting on more deodorant not wanting to smell back. He yawned before falling back onto his bed and looked at the ceiling.

Rae laughed hearing his words and nodded. "Sure, that sounds great. I love movies anyways." She admitted watching him wondering what he was thinking about. She laughed once more hearing his words.

"Highschoolers and their stupid drinking." She teased him and blinked hearing him say her name and looked up at him. She nodded and smiled, "It was great talking to you too, and I agree completely." She smiled and hummed getting into the car, grinning. "Why thank you, my gentleman." She giggled before pulling her seatbelt over her chest and smiling nodding hearing his words. "Alright. Well, you have my number, so." She replied chukling gently. She told him her address. Once they were at her house, she got out of the car and said, "Thank you for driving me home." She kissed his cheek smiling before going into her house.

Effy thought it was sweet how Thomas had waited up to make sure that JSe got home safe. Her mother of course was in bed, she couldn't think of a single occasion where her mother had eaited up to check on her. The blonde sighed gently and waved at Thomas, keeping her eyes low to avoid questioning on her way upstairs. At the top she shouted goodnight before closing her bedroom door and getting ready for bed. She changed in to a Begay t-shirt and her underwear and threw her hair up sloppily on the top of her head.

Just as she lay down in bed, Effy realised she needed the bathroom. Opening the door she got a slight fright. "Sorry... not the bathroom.." she mumbled, seeing her new brother standing there getting undressed for bed.

"That's greaT, because it's all I have to offer!" Jack joked with her. He started the engine and begM to pullout. There were no cars blocking him in thank god, and within five minutes he was on the way to her house. He smiled at each of her little jones, adoring her sense of humour. He smiled as she got out at her house and kissed her cheek before leaving, but ZkCl was upset she had taken off so soon. He had been hoping to give her night girl.

He shrugged "maybe next time.." he whispered to himself. He would text her in the morning, but first wanted to wait and make sure she got Inside.
