A Step in the Wrong Direction

Jason noticed Kate was already in the bed and kept his eyes forward not wanting to look at Effy afraid if he did, she would look so sad. He didn't want to see her looking so disheartened. He sighed once he was in his room looking at the bruises beginning to appear on his abdomens. He sighed shaking his head before looking at his chest in the mirror and saw a nasty purple one beginning to form. He knew the oppposing team had played rough, but he hadn't expected them to have given him such a beating.

He looked up hearing his room open. He saw Effy and laughed hearing her words before walking over and pointing to the other door. "It's on the other side of mine." He explained. He then went back into his room wondering if she would still stand there and speak to him or go about her way.

Rae laughed and smiled at him and shook her head. I'm sure that's not true." She replied grinning before yawnign again. She was exhausted and didn't want to be a bitch since she was so tired. She knew she could be grouchy when she hadn't slept or was tired. She She waved towards him. She went inside and noticed he had waited to make sure she had made it inside before he had taken off. She thought he was sweet and smiled to herself before beginning to go upstairs.

She took a quick shower before getting dressed in a pair of her spandex shorts and a crop/halter top. She crawled underneath her blankets curling her legs up towards her chest a little before pulling her phone out and plugging it into the charger before beginning to play Jeopardy on it before she fell asleep lightly.

Effy, stared down at his chest as he stood pointing toward the bathroom door. "What happens? Was that from the game?" She asked softly, her finger gently reaching out to trace the largest before he walked away. She watched as he continued to examine himself on the mirror, and she felt anger begin to burn in the pit of her dtomach. How dare anyone hurt him. She wasn't sure it was normal to feel so agitated- she guessed he was now her brother after all, and siblings did look out for one another.

"Sorry I'll go, don't want to keep you up" she apologised quickly shaking her head, realising she had still just been lurking in the door frame staring at his body. "Goodnight Jase" she said, leaving his door ajar as she headed to the bathroom.

Jack waved as she went in her front door and then drove off. He regretted not acting quicker to kiss her, but it just meant he was more excited to see her again. He swung back by the party to collect his friends and stop them all home, before driving himself. He would drop his friends car back on the morning.

He got home and climbed in to bed, not even noticing how tired he was. He noticed that it said Rae had been active on Instagram and he smiled. He fired her a quick message, reading "go to sleep :)" before putting his phone on the locker and tut big over to go to sleep.

Jason looked at her having not remembered about the bruises even though he had examined them. He was used to them, but was pretty sure Kate and Effy were going to throw tantrums. He laughed and nodded. "Yeah, Lacrosse is a little more violent than people give it credit for." He admitted chuckling softly to himself. He smiled and then looked back hearing her words. "YOu're fine." He promised before looking at his back not able to see if he had ones on his shoulder. Hearing Effy once more, he turned and nodded. "Goodnight, Effy." He was glad that she had warmed up to him and was calling him by his nickname.

He smiled before turning his lights off. He got into his bed and didn't notice how exhausted he was until he crashed. He was face down in his pillows. He wasn't cute when he slept, he looked like a rock. He had black curtains just so the light would be blocked and so that he could sleep longer.

Rae was asleep before she got his message. She woke in the morning and looked around blinking gently until she saw his message and smiled to herself before sending him a laughing emoji and said that she was asleep. Her phone had just been on. She yawned and got a quick shower before wrapping herself in her robe and sitting down on he rbed wondering what she was going to do today.

She continued to mess with her sheets before sighing and standing up and getting dressed in a crop top that had a skull on it with flowers arranged inside. She grabbed a pair of her jeans shorts and smiled before getting on her converse. She left her hair down just brushing through it a few times before laying back down on her bed, not knowing what she wanted to do. She sighed softly looking out the window and noticing her mom was gone already. She figured she had to work. She bounded downstairs her phone in her pocket and saw a note with some money that said she'd be home late tonight and that she could go get some food to cook or order in if she wanted. She smiled softly to herself.

Effy came out of the bathroom and switched off the light. By the sound on Jason's room he was already asleep. She have a soft laugh as she headed in to her own new room and curled up in the bed. There was a smell of fresh paint, and the carpets looked brand new, Effy couldn't help but wonder what had been in here before she was. Most of her stuff still lay in boxes and bags scattered around the room. She had never felt so far from home.

Despite being high as a kite, Effy found it difficult to sleep that night. Her mind wandered to her old friends, her dad, Monica, how Thomas showed so much care for Jason, when her mom couldn't even stay up to ask how her first party had gone. She blinked hard as the tears began to stream from her eyes, trying her hardest not to make a sound. Every now and again a stray sob would escape her, but she tried her best to stifle it with a pillow. Eventually she drifted off to sleep, waking every few hours.

Jack awoke the following morning, a smile on his face and a hard on in his pants- sure fire signs his dreams had been filled with his red headed muse. He chuckled, able to hear Lucy pestering he dad downstairs to come up and wake him and her dad fighting her on it. He got up and headed to the bathroom to get himself sorted, before dressing in some shorts and a navy Nike t-shirt.

He headed downstairs, and was immediately hit by the force that is his little sister. "Jack, look my tooth fell out!!" She told him happily, a big gap-toothed smile emanating off of her face. "I think that deserves Ice-Cream doesn't it?" He asked, picking her up onto his arms. In his free hand, he fired off a quick message to Rae. "You wanna meet at the Dairy Queen? Gonna take Lucy for some ice cream"

Jase slept through the whole night not aware of the calamity Effy was facing. He woke up in the morning and yawned going downstairs forgetting that he had females in his house now anw should probably dress more appropriately. He got a bowl of cereal and chowed down before taking a sip of the milk from the carton. he looked up seeing his dad and grinned seeing his glare.

He put the milk up before burping softly and wiping at his face. "Excuse me." He mumbled knowing he had been taught better than to not say anything. He ran a hand through his bed head hair. He yawned again glancing around the room seeing that his dad and he were the only ones awake.

Rae headed downstairs and got something to eat gnawing softly at a cinnamon roll. She finished up and sat down on the couch. She heard her phone go off and looked down seeing the message and smiled to herself before sending back, "Sure." She got up looking in the mirror to make sure she looked okay before grabbing her keys and heading out.

She got into the car and headed to the Dairy Queen. She hummed looking around seeing that Jack wasn't there yet. She shrugged to herself lighty before heading inside. She put her hands in her back pockets while looking at the menu wondering if she wanted some early lunch or just icecream. She bit down on her lip trying to decide lightly playing with the hoop in her nose.

Effy woke up and looked in the morror, there were two dark circles beneath her eyes, which stood out puffy and red on her face. The blonde decided to go for a shower hoping, the steam may make them less obvious. After a quick shower, effy strolled back to her room, a towel wrapped around her body as she ran a towel through her wet head. The shower had done little to take away the tiredness and stress in her eyes. Sighing, she sat down at her dresser. Effy didn't usually like to wear make-up day to day as her skin was clear and she didnt want to mess that up, but for the sake of avoiding question she knew she needed to cover up. using a small amount of concealer, she tried her hardest tocover up the blemishes and applied a thin coat of mascara. Itlooked some little bit better.

Dressed in some training shorts and a tight, slightly cropped t-shirt Effy headed downstairs to her newly formed family. She could see her mother entering the kitchen just ahead of her, and thomas and Jase were already inside. "Morning" she grumbled, not looking up at any of them as she bagan to make herself some coffee.

"How was the party last night?" her mother through out, looking between Jason and Effy, smiling far too enthusistically fo rthis early in the morning.

Jack borrowed the keys to his dads truck, and after several moments of deliberation as to whether Lucy should be allowed to wear her fairy costume, he eventually got her bundled in to the car in a yellow sundress, fairy wings in tow. He laughed at her softly as he drove, glancing back at her through the mirror every few moments. she kept wiggling all of her other teeth to make sure they hadn't come loose.

pulling up to the dairy queen, he could see Rae's red hair shining in the sunlight through the window. he gave lucy a quick warning that his friend would be ther and helped her out of the car. Inside, he strolled up to Rae nonchalantly, trying to hide the huge smile he couldnt stop from forming on his face. "Hey Rae, this is my sister Lucy" he said, holding a hand down to lucy who stared at Rae in awe. "Can I touch your hair" she asked gently, playing with the corner of her sparkly wing.

Jason looked up seeing Effy his eyes lingering on her midriff for much longer than was considered appropriate. He looked away quickly when he felt his father glance at him. He looke dover and chuckled softly hearing Effy grumbling and lifted himself up to sit on the counter and swung his legs as he continued to eat his cereal. He looked over hearing Effy's mother and mumbled, "Fine, I guess." he replied knowing better than to tell her about Monica and other things.

He ran a hand throughout his hair before nearly choking on his cereal hearing his dad tell him he should take her around town to look at different stuff. He sighed before looking over at Effy and muttered, "Do I have to?" he was teasing more than anything knowing she probably wouldn't be interested. He looked over waiting for a response surprised to see Kate was dressed in a tight tank top and shorts. He didn't want to see her like that.

Rae gently swayed to the music that was playing for ordering her food. She didn't care that she was getting a whole meal. She was starving. He looked over hearing Jack speaking and flashed a smile. She looked down and held her hand out to Lucy crouching down to see her. She blinked surprised upon hearing her words.

She laughed softly before replying, "I don't mind. It's real." She whispered winking at her before pulling some of her hair from her pony tail and holding it out to the girl. She ran her fingers through the strands of hair and gave her another smile. "I'm Rae. It's nice to meet you, Lucy." She told her. "Lucy is a beautiful name. My great grandmother's name was Lucille." She admitted to her. She glanced at Jack with a smile before looking back at Lucy wondering what she was going to do once she had touched her hair.

Effy just shrugged at her mom, keeping her eyes trained on the coffee cup, afraid of anybody noticing her blotchy skin. "Yeah the party was fine... met some cool people" she said just to throw her mom off the scent of the fight that had stirred up last night. As Thomas suggested that Jason show her around a little, Effy was about to say that she wouldn't actually mind getting out of the house for a few hours when she heard Jason pass some smart comment. Effy just simply wasn't in the mood for it, and glared at him as she finished pouring her coffee.

"No it's fine, I'd rather shit on my hands and clap" she snapped and shook her head exiting the kitchen and heading for the living room. She could hear her mother kicking up some fuss about her language, and undoubtedly handing all over her new Fiancé. Efyy pulled out her phone deciding to try and get in touch with her dad. "Can you take a call?" she sent him, and set the phone down on the coffee table, half watching the Saturday morning cartoons as she sipped the caffeine.

Jack chuckled as Lucy asked to touch Rae's hair, and was rather impressed when Rae bent down to let her. Jack knew so many girls who would've said no for fear Lucy would dirty their hair. The little girl looked up at jack happily, excited giggles coming out of her "You look like Ariel, she's my favourite. Jack's too!" Lucy announced happily pointing up to her brother. Jack allowed Lucy to stay chatting with Rae for a moment as he stepped forward to order their Ice creams. He got himself a banana split, and ordered Lucy the mint chocolate unicorn special. "Rae what would you like?" he asked, looking back at the two girls. it made him feel really happy to see them talking.

"My grandma's name is Pam.." Lucy said absentmindedly, hiding part of her face behind the fairy wing, growing slightly shy as Jack stepped away from her. "Are you his girlfriend now?" she whispered, glancing over at her brother every now and again to make sure he wasn't going anywhere without her. A few moments later Jack returned with all of their food, looking between them. "So what are we talking about?"

Jason smiled softly and sighed hearing her snap frowning seeing as she was in a mood. He waited a moment before heading over and said, "I was joking. What's wrong?" he asked her raising an eyebrow not getting why she was being so rude to him. He didn't understand it. they had been getting along well last night. He just didn't understand anyone. He sighed to himself softly.

He ran a hand through his hair before pulling at his tank top and then sat down on the other couch figured he wouldn't sit by her incase she tried to swing at him. He didn't quite understand her, and didn't really want to make her any more upset than she already was.

Rae laughed hearing her words and said, "I like Ariel as well, but my favorite disney princess is Moana." She admitted to her and chuckled and then looked up hearing Jack and shook her head. "I already got something. They're still making it, but thank you." She told him looking back at Lucy and speaking with her again and just let her touch her hair. She smiled at her not midning at all. She liked kids and how their imaginations worked.

She nodded. 'that's apretty name!" She exclaimed grinning at her. She saw her hiding behind her wing and blinked blushing. "No, but who knows?" She teased winking at her. "Though, I'm almost 100 percent certain that you'll always be his number one girl." She told her with a sweet smile. She looked back up at Jack and shrugged. "girl talk. "She teased and went to the table and sat down thanking him for getting her food for her.

Effy shook her head an sighed, taking a long sip of her coffee before looking at him. "I just didn't appreciate the smart comment" she stated, her fingers tightening around the rim of the bug as she bit down on the inside of her lip to hold back tears. She refused to let any of them see weakness. "I actually would like to be shown around, but I'd hate to take up your precious time" she said, her tone flat as she avoided looking directly at him, her gaze resting on his forehead.

She nervously tapped her fingers against the cup. She didn't want to be a brat, but she just felt so shitty and her head hurt from crying.

Lucy's eyes widened, her head nodding vigorously "I love Moana... My favourite is the chicken though" she admitted with a small chuckle, watching happily as her brother approached with her ice- cream, quickly shoving it in her mouth as he handed it to her.

"Slow down Lu, you're gonna give yourself brain freeze" Jack commented with a chuckle, watching his younger sister before turning to Rae. "I hope she didn't say anything weird, my dad talks too much and forgets she's in the room sometimes" He said softly, smiling at the beautiful red-head before him. "You look great"

Jason rolled his eyes hearing her words and said, "Well, just because you don't appreciate it, doesn't mean you have to suddenly blow up. It's not just you that's affected by shit, ya know." He stated not appreciating her cold tone. He watched her and sighed softly seeing her face tighten and said, "I already said I would last night." He stated. "Just tell me when. I'm going to get dressed." he told her. He stood up heading for his room.

Once there, he slipped into the shower washing himself before beginning to get dressed. He picked out a button up, but let the sleeves stop at his elbows before getting on a pair of jeans. He stretched yawning. As he did so, he shirt slipped up to reveal his toned skin around his stomach.

Rae laughed nodding in agreement. "I liked the grandma." She replied with a smile and laughed again seeing her shove the icecream into her mouth. She smiled softly knowing that she adored Lucy already. She was cute.

She looked up seeing Jack come back and sat down with them as she ate her food. She laughed adn said, "We were talking about Ariel and Moana." She admitted t him. She smiled and blinked hearing his words nodding her head to him. "Thank you." She smiled. Her shirt had slipped down a little too far allowing her nice cleavage to show. She didn't have huge breasts, but she didn't have small ones either. She wore a D cup. She looked back up at him.

"Well you aren't the one who had to move halfway across the country" Effy murmured under her breath as he left the room, finishing the last of her coffee and placing the cup in the dishwasher, completely ignoring her mother and Thomas. Grabbing her phone and keys she shoved them in her pockets and went and sat by the front door, wanting to leave as soon as possible. She didn't like being stuck in the house. She looked up and watched as he came down the stairs, she had to admit he looked really fucking good, somehow his muscles still showed through a button up. why does he have to be my fucking brother she thought to herself, quickly pulling her gaze away. she was afraid she had been caught staring too long.

"I'm ready when you are" she said, standing up from the ground where she had been sitting waiting. She ran a hand through her blonde hair, which was curling from the heat. She didn't know how he could survive in jeans. In her small shorts and top she was still roasting.

Jack chuckled "Getting right down to the serious stuff so" he joked, his eyes being drawn down towards her cleavage but he tried his hardest not to stare. He brushed on of Lucy's fairy wings out of his way as he began to eat his ice cream, smiling across at Rae. "So, do you have plans for the rest of the evening?" He asked, really hoping she didn't. he was thinking they could drop Lucy home and maybe hang out for a while. He was working over the next few days and knew he wouldn't get a chance to meet up with her.

"I was thinking we could maybe go bowling?" he suggested, glancing down at lucy to hide his nervousnesss that she would turn him down. God her tits were amazing. He really hoped she hadn't noticed his continual glances to the area, but they were so perfect, just like her.

"No, but i'm also having two other people that I've never met before suddenly come and move into my home. So don't act like you have it so much worse." Jason told her not having much sympathy at her five year old whining act. He didn't understand that she had to be so unkind to everyone. Just because she was angry didn't mean she had to take it out on him. He sighed as he came back popping his neck as he went. He grabbed his keys telling his dad that he'd be back whenever and that he needed something that he had his phone. He waved at Kate before nodding hearing his new step-sister.

"Alright. Come on. Where to first?" He asked turning his head to looked at her for a moment before getting into his car. He didn't midn the heat, especially since he was used to it from living there so long. He started the car before backing out of the drive way and heading onto the main road.

Rae laughed and nodded. "Disney is serious, especially to the fans." She replied with a grin. She smiled to herself lightly glancing up in time to see him look away from her chest. She bit back a laugh before blinking hearing his comment. She looked at the ceiling biting into a chicken tender as she thought. She shook her head swallowing before saying, "No, I don't have anything to do. You?" She asked him with a smile. She saw Lucy staring at her and made a face grinning as she heard her beginning to laugh.

Rae looked back surprised at his offer and laughed. "Sure, I don't go bowling much, so you're probably way better than me." She admitted to him with a smile. She went back to her food, smiling to herself. She thought he was hot as hell. She didn't mind that he kept looking at her chest, it just made her feel as if he found her attractive -- though, she didn't want him to just find her body attractive. She finished her food moving on to her icecream.

Once they got in the car, she shrugged upon hearing his question. "I don't really know what there is to go to.. so you'll have to decide" she said softly as she pulled her seat belt on. She could feel the tension coming off his body and nervously played with her hands in her lap as they drove. She allowed them to sit in silence for a moment before sighing. "Jase.. I'm sorry.I shouldn't have been such a bitch this morning I just-" before she could stop herself she had burst in to tears. Burying her face in her hands she tried to compose herself. She hated when people saw through her 'I don't give a shit" attitude.

She looked up at him, blinking hard as the tears began to subside. "Oh my god, whats wrong with me, I'm such a baby" she said with a weak laugh, wiping at her eyes. "I just really didn't want to come out here... I wanted to stay with my Dad, but well, he said no, He didn't want me around all the time" she told him gently. "I'm not trying to say things didn't change for you, I just feel like I left my entire life behind". She didn't know why she was talling him al this, but she couldn't stop it from coming out.

Jacks whole face lit up as he watched Rae mess around with Lucy. He could see that Lucy was enamoured with Rae just like him, She didn't take her eyes off her for a second as she ate her ice cream. "Don't worry I can help you out. we can always get the kiddie rails put up if you need" he teased, gently flicking some soda off the bottom of his straw towards her with a chuckle. "Can I coooooommmeee?" Lucy begged, but Jack shook his head softly at her. "Not this time Lu, next I promise" he told her, gently poking her side and getting a giggle out of her. "Why? is it a date?" she asked. Jack felt a blush rushing to his cheeks, but quickly decided to turnn it around. "I don't know, why don't you ask Rae?" he said, his attention turning on the red head as he raised an eyebrow, a lopsided grin on his face as he waited for her answer.

Jason nodded, "I'll take you by the school first, let you get a first impression of it, I suppose." He told her as he continued to drive in silence. He was a little upset. He didn't like being treated as if he was just some punching bag. He had had enough of that in elementary school. He looked over hearing her words and was surprised to see her crying. He let out a small sigh pulling out and looking at her getting her some napkins and rubbing her back gently. He couldn't make himself hug her not wanting to get punched for doing so. He gave her a nod and said, "It'll be fine. I'm not made of glass." He promised her watching as she continued to cry.

He eventually didn't care if she was going to punch him or not and gently wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back before letting her and watched him and laughed shaking his head. "It's not good to just let it all stay inside." He told her and listened to her words and said, "Well, it's his loss, now isn't it?" He told her as he watched her for a moment and said, "I can understand that, but you seriously need to give your mom a break too. She left everything behind except you too and I'm sure she's upset too." He told her shrugging. "You know her better, though." He gave her a smile. "It'll be okay."

Rae grinned seeing Lucy giggling and couldn't help herself. She found her adorable and was sure that the girl was just the light of Jack's life. She had always wished for a little sibling. She laughed hearing his words and said, "They are called bumpers, thank you very much." She teased him and looked down hearing Lucy and giggled to herself unable to help it. She looked up hearing Jack and smiled before blinking hearing Jack and said, "I'm not sure. I'll decide later." She winked at Lucy with a grin before saying, "Next time, I'll take you bowling." She told her with a smile. She offered her a french fry as a peace offering.

She glanced up at Jack and stuck her tongue out at him knowing she was thinking of it being a date. She really liked Jack and from the way he treated Lucy, she could tell he would treat her right. She smiled to herself unable to help her face from lighting up. She was getting excited at the upcoming adventure that was going to be later that night. "Are we going to meet there?" She asked him running a hand through her hair knowing she would need to fix her hair and stuff. She hummed softly to herself while waiting for his response.

Effy took the napkins and dabbed at her cheeks. Sniffling, she wrapped her arms around him, her body slowly beginning to stop moving with each sob. She gave a gentle laugh, wiping away the end of her tears before pulling down the mirror and began to fix her make up, feeling a little embarrassed for melting down.

"Thanks.. I mean.. I know I should be easier on her, it just feels like she doesn't give a shit" she said with a soft shrug and glanced over at him. "I'm Reay sorry I took this out on you earlier, I've never really been good at talking things out. But uh, thanks for listening. I Guess I'm here if you ever want to talk too" she offered, and tossed the tissue on to the floor giving his knee a kind squeeze before pulling her seat belt back on waiting for him to start driving again

Lucy cheered in her seat, her wings shaking as she chuckled, watching her brother and this girl. "I like her" she whispered loudly, using her hand to shirld her mouth as if it would stop her from hearing. Jack smiled and leaned down to his sisters ear, his eyes looking at Rae. "I like her too" he whispered knowing Rae could hear him. He was glad she had agreed to come out with him, he wanted to get to know her a little better.

"I can pick you up if you like? Say around seven?" he suggested, scooping the last of his ice cream into his mouth, watching her over the cardboard cup. He felt like she didn't even realise how gorgeous she was, he really didnt know how he hadn't seen her in school before, or how onearthshe was still single.

I completely understand! It's alright! I've been so busy between graduation and then going on a trip with my grandmother and blah haha)

Jason awkwardly patted her on the back before just stroking her back lightly running circles on the fabric hoping that he was helping her calm down. He looked down hearing her laugh and blinked softly and smiled softly at her catching a tear with his thumb lightly and wiping it away.

He watched her and said, "I can understand that, it's just, ya know. You're both in a new place, I mean. I'm sure i'd be pissed at my dad if he had moved me away from everything i'd ever known." He tld her nodding and gave her a smile. "It's alright, just yeah. Don't expect me not to retaliate." He grinned softly and messed her hair up teasingly and nodding before beginning to drive again, her hand on his knee almost making him aroused. he managed to keep himself under control.

Rae laughed softly seeing Lucy cheering and smiled to herself eating her icecream having finished her food. She smiled soft;y at Jack as he leaned down to Lucy's ear and fake whispered into her ear. She grinned again and shook her head before running a hand through her hair. She managed to keep the blush from her cheeks and just ate her icecream lightly poking fun at Lucy a little since she was such a sweetheart.

Rae looked up hearing his suggestion and smiled before giving a nod. She grabbed a napkin with the spoon still in her mouth getting a pen from her purse and writing her address. Her handwriting was dark but cursive and easy to read. She handed it to him popping her spoon out of her mouth. "That sounds great." She replied humming soflty. She was glad that he wanted to take her out on a date. She hoped it didn't end badly.

"So uhh.. where do you plan on showing me?" Effy asked a little awkwardly, her eyes following each street sign that they passed. Her mind began to wander to the party last night and to that girl who had been all over Jason, and was now a sworn enemy to Effy apparently. She gave a soft laugh, turning her head toward Jason. "That girl Monica actually seems really psychotic, how is she so popular?" She asked, a wicked smile on her face.

She pulled her feet up on the dash, crossing them at the ankles, casing her skirt to ride up her thighs a little more but Effy didn't take much notice.

Jack said goodbye to Rae and got Lucy to do the same as they got up from the table putting their trash in the garbage. "I'll see you at 7 then, talk later!" He said as they headed out the door.

As seven o clock rolled around, jack called out to his dad that he was heading out and picked up his keys. His dad met him at the door, smiling awkwardly. "Look Jack.. I know this is uncomfortable for you.. but I'm having that woman I'm seeing over for dinner tonight. If you really don't want to meet her don't come back until after 10 okay? And don't worry about Lucy she's staying at Grandma's" his father told him. Jack sighed loudly and headed to his car without saying a word to his dad, and quickly drove to Rae's house, smiling as he saw her come towards the car.

Jason glanced at her, "Places like my favorite spots, then most of the popular things people go to in town." He explained giving her a smile making sure to focus on his driving rather than Effy's legs. He tried to make sure his eyes didn't wander too much. He laughed shaking his head a little. "Just for that reason." He muttered with a sigh. "That, plus, she's just a really big cliche. Reminds me of those girls from Mean Girls." He told her giving a dramatic roll of his eyes as he spoke.

Noticing her put her feet up on the dash, he caught a quick glance of her thighs but made sure to keep his eyes on the road. He looked in the rear view mirror before changing lanes.

Rae smiled giving Jack a nod. "Okay." She told him giving him a sweet smile. She headed home before sighing as she just relaxed most of the day. She looked in the mirror at her outfit biting down on her lip wondering if he was going to like it.

She gave a shake of her head before going downstairs seeing her mom getting ready. She ignored her for the most part until she spoke to her telling her she was going to be going to see her new boyfriend that night. "I'm going out, too." She informed her. "And I don't really want to see your new boyfriend." She told him giving her a slight glare before exiting the house. She knew she shouldn't be too mad her mom, but the divorce had happened only six months ago and she couldn't believe how quickly she was getting over her dad. She saw Jack and smiled to him giving a wave. She got into the car. "Hey." She greeted him.
