Hayden turned seeing her, he was a little mad still. He looked at her, "At least I got caught after going for a surf, it was good, I'm just not sure I'll ever be able to do it again," he commented.

It annoyed him how he had to take a whole day away to do what he loved, even for a little while, when she equated having the tramps packed away in the gym as pretty much the same thing.

"You just need to get better at not getting caught, maybe go late at night next time, and get back here by 8am?" She suggested with a small shrug. She could sense he was angry, and didn't really want to have it taken out on her.

Hayden shrugged, "yeah maybe, although I prefer surfing during the day," he admitted. He walked with her slowly, "so what did I miss today? more fitness drills?" he asked her softly.

He didn't believe that she had ratted him out, so he didn't blame her for being caught.

Baby shook her head "as far as I know, everybody was training technique, don't really know what that means for you but..." she trailed off realising she was being rude.

I honesty, baby was slightly jealous that Haydee loved his sport so much he was willing to stick it out here just to do it.

Hayden smiled softly, "oh so instead of standing around pretending to be balancing on the board, I was actually doing it, wow I must have fallen so far behind," he joked. He found it stupid that the dean thought actually surfing didn't teach you how to surf better.

Baby shrugged her shoulders gently at him. She could tell he was pissed so she was not about to defend the dean, but. In her opinion he usually knew what he was doing. "Yeah I guess, wanna go for a walk?" As annoying as Hayden was she enjoyed spending time with him.

Hayden shrugged, "yeah I guess a walk could do me good," he admitted. He was surprised at how much he liked being around her, he usually didn't like people who weren't beach rats.

"So where are you from originally?" Baby asked him, glancing over at him as they walked.in her head she was deliberating whether to bring him to her spot or not, it always relaxed her but she didn't want too many people finding out about it.

Hayden walked with her, glancing at her occasionally. "I grew up in florida, but we moved around a fair amount, how about you?" he asked her lightly. He had no idea where they were heading, he was happy to just wander around aimlessly.

"Boston, but Iv'e been calling her home for almost 7 years now" she told him with a shrug, deciding she would risk showing him. Without saying a word, she pulled back some shrubberry revealinga fence, which she ran her hand along before finding the hole and stepping through. "Come on"

Hayden nodded, "Boston's nice, I'm not a huge fan of big cities though," he admitted quietly. He followed her, "where are we heading?" he asked softly, he was surprised to see a hole in the fence.

Baby waited for him to follow her through, revealing a large meadow, overgrown with wildflowers. A small pond sat in the centre. "Years ago, they had intended to turn that in to a lake for the kayakers and rowers and things to practice in, the planning never went ahead though, and this is what the complex was left with. They fenced it off, knowing it would be a point of distraction. One of the trainers showed me it once when I just really needed a pick me up" she explained gently, taking in the beauty of the field.

Hayden looked around the meadow, "wow, this place is amazing," he admitted. He walked around a little bit, "Thank's for showing me," he said lightly. "How often to you come here?" he asked.

"Don't show anyone else ok,ay?" Baby said quickly, just incase he hadn't realised that she intended to keep it a secret."I usually come like twice a week just to be alone with my thoughts, I like listening to the bitds here in the mornings" she told him, taking a seat in the grass.

Hayden nodded softly, "Yeah of course, I'll keep quiet about it," he reassured her. He looked around some more, 'It would be cool if they'd gotten further with the lake, but it certainly is beautiful," he said softly.

"It feels like a sanctuary to me.. It's so far removed from the inside of a gym" she commented absentmindedly, running her hands through the overgrown grass. "Hayden? You've been here two years right?"

Hayden smiled softly, "yeah I like it," he said softly. He looked over at her, "Yeah roughly two years, how about you?" he asked softly.

He felt he'd been at the academy far too long, and was just generally over training rather than surfing.

"Six years" she said gently, running her hands over her legs. "You don't seem to know much about any of the people here, why is that?" she asked him, hopng he wouldnt think she was prying.

Hayden looked at her and nodded, "I don't like people much, most of the other athletes think I don't belong here, so I keep to myself," he said softly. It did annoy him that other students didn't respect his sport.

"I get that... but keeping yourself aside from everyone doesn't help" she told him honestly, pulling her knees to her chest. "I just thought you were a snob, until conditioning. and even so, you're still growing on me". Baby knew from experience, that often times, knowing what people had gone through to get here, earned you a lot more respect in th eacademy.
