When The Seasons Change. [closed]

Brian was actually surprised when he didn't have to insist on taking her out, "Pizza sounds great." The smile on his face grew larger. "I guess I don't have to keep bugging you here then." He tapped his hands on the register, "I'll be back to pick you up." Brian felt excited, he just because she was accepting his offer now didn't mean it would be an easy road from here on out. He knew she was just trying to play him, and she'd still be a tough cookie to crack, but nonetheless, he was still up for the challenge.

Mel placed the records down in their sections, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Of course not." She couldn't hold back the huff that came out of her mouth, though. "You gonna leave with your friend, at least?" Mel wasn't a mean person in general, but she knew whatever this guy wanted wasn't so nice either.

Zandra nodded, "I guess I will see you then." She said, watching as the guys left. She looked over at Mel, "Sorry I figure this way they will leave us alone." She said once the guys were gone. "Maybe Zacky will give up on you as well. Why the hell are they even wanting to be around us anyway?" She asked, rolling her eyes. Of course she knew the answer to that, but she didn't want to think about it.

Zacky nodded, "Yea I will be back later." He said before he walked away with Brian. "I feel like this could go badly." He said as they walked. "Why would Zandra just all of the sudden agree to food." He said.

Mel sighed and relaxed against the counter. "I don't know... It's probably some sick joke, or some stupid bet. We've went to school with them this whole time, it doesn't make sense for them to just now want to talk to us. Something is definitely up." Mel rubbed her face and picked up some more stock that needed to go out. "At least free pizza, though, right?"

Brian shrugged, "She probably just wants free pizza.... and she probably just wanted us to leave the store." He laughed. "Either way, it's technically a date." He winked at Zacky. "Lets go get some beers and wait on them."

Zandra laughed softly, "That is exactly why I suggested it." She said. She helped Mel finish putting things away. When it was time to close up the store she walked out and sighed when she seen Brian and Zacky coming towards them. "Let's hope this goes well." She said, looking at the girl next to her.

Zacky chuckled, "She just wanted food." He said. He drank a few beer with Brian then walked with him to meet the girls. He looked at them, "Ready?" He asked, seeing Brian eyeing up Zandra. He turned his attention to Mel,"So what kind of pizza do you like?" He asked as they walked.

Mel nodded, "Surely it will...." She felt her stomach tie up in knots again when she saw Zacky walking up to her. "All kinds." Was the best answer she was going to give him. He gave her a weird vibe and she didn't like it. They walked around the corner where there was a nice little pizza place. Mel followed the rest of them in and took a seat with Zacky as Brian went up to order.

Brian smiled at Zandra as they entered the pizza parlor and watched as Zacky took a seat with Mel. "What kind of pizza do you want?" He asked as he went up to the counter, pulling out his wallet.

Zandra walked with Brian to the counter and watched him take out his wallet. She kind of felt bad that he was actually going to buy them food. "Pepperoni sounds good. Maybe some bread-sticks." She said, shrugging. "You don't have to pay for it all you know." She said. "I can give you money." She told him. She hated that she couldn't go through with using him to get something for herself. Maybe she was just too nice.

Zacky sat down with Mel, "I know you only came along because your friend asked you to." He said as he looked over at her. "I'm glad you did though." He said. He did like her a lot, but he wished that he could get her to open up to him. "What did you want to drink? I will go get it for you." He said.

Brian shook his head and pulled out two twenties and ordered a large pepperoni pizza, with extra cheese and some breadsticks. "Don't worry about it. Besides, I'm hoping I can take you out again sometimes, anyway." He smiled. "What do you want to drink?"

Mel was finding it harder and harder to be mean and snarky with him, especially when he was being so nice and saying sweet things. She slouched her shoulders and relaxed in her seat, "If they have like any kind of juice or tea, that'd be fine." She sighed.

Zandra watched as he paid for the stuff, "Just water is fine." She said. She wasn't big on soda or anything like that. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she thought about what he said. She was confused about why he was so interested in her all of the sudden. She was sure there was something behind it. she took the water from the guy behind the counter then walked to the table and sat down while they waited.

Zacky nodded then got up and went to get some food. He ordered their drinks then looked at Brian once Zandra walked away, "Well is she being mean?" He teased his friend. He got Mel some tea and a soda for himself before he paid for it.

Brian looked over at Zacky and chuckled, "Not as much as she was, I think I'm getting somewhere. What about her?" Brian let his eyes roam towards Mel for a split second.

Mel looked up when Zandra sat down and she chewed on her lip. "This is weird." It was weird for Mel for a couple of reasons. One, she barely knew Zacky; two, she had never really been on an actual date before and three, she wasn't expecting this at all.

Zandra nodded, "Yea it is kind if weird." She said. She sighed as she waited for the guys to return. She frowned as Brian slid into the booth next to her.

Zacky chuckled, "Oh she still hates me." He said as he grabbed their drinks and joined the girls. He sat with them, giving Mel her drink.

Brian slid Zandra's water in front of her and smiled, "There you go." He leaned back in the booth they were seated in and took a sip of is coke. "So, are you regretting coming out with me tonight, or?"

Mel took her juice and bit her lip as she swirled the straw around the cup. She didn't want to listen in on Brian's conversation with Zandra, but she also didn't want to have to give any attention to Zacky, either... "Thanks." She finally told him for her drink.

Zandra looked at him, "It depends on how the pizza is." She replied as she took a sip of her drink. She wasn't going to let him think that she wanted to be with him.

Zacky looked at her, seeing how nervous she was. "Are you okay?" He asked, knowing the other two were in their own conversation.

"Don't you have an attitude?" Brian chuckled, leaning just a little bit closer. He wasn't sure if she would notice or not. "I like it." He smirked, pulling the cheesiest move in the book, placing his arm behind her back on the booth.

Mel looked up at Zacky and chewed her lip, "Yeah, I'm fine, just tired." Mel shrugged her shoulders and took a sip of her juice, looking up and making eye contact with the waiter who brought their pizza.

Zandra looked at him, "It's constant too." She said. She figured that would make him go away. She was glad when the pizza came and took a piece.

Zacky smirked, "I'm sure we wont be out long." He said as he got some pizza.

Brian wasn't going to be deterred that easy. "Good, I like girls with attitude." He reached out and slid a piece of pizza off the large stone slab they served the pizza on.

For some reason, Mel couldn't believe that. She had a feeling they would be out far longer than she'd like. Mel grabbed a slice and picked the pepperonis off and ate them first. "Yeah, sure. So... why are you bugging me so much now...? After all we've went to the same school together since forever."

Zandra rolled her eyes at his response then began to eat her food. She could tell he was going to be hard to get rid of. She ate two pieces of pizza then relaxed as everyone else continued to eat.

Zacky looked at her after he out his pizza on his plate, "Do I need a reason to talk to you?" He asked before he took a bite of his pizza.

Brian took a sip of his coke, wishing this place served at least beer. "So-" He turned his attention back to Zandra, trying not to let this conversation slip his fingers, "you work at a record store... so I'm guessing you like music?"

Mel sighed, "Just seems weird that now out of nowhere you're trying to talk to me." She scraped the cheese off of her pizza and tore off small bits to eat. When she got nervous she couldn't help but fidget.

Zandra looked at him, "Hmm.. No I sit in silence all the time. " she teased him. she could help but take the opportunity to be sarcastic. She smiled as he looked at her, "You do the same yea? " she asked, knowing he played guitar.

Zacky watched her and nodded, "I know. I should have talked to you sooner. " he said smirking. He couldn't believe how nervous she was. he wasn't use to being around people like that. All of his friends we're outgoing.

Brian nodded, "Yeah, we actually have a band... We play downtown sometimes." He shrugged, wanting it to sound like a big deal, but he was sure it wouldn't impress Zandra. "Maybe you could come see us sometime?" He looked up at her and took another bite of his pizza.

Mel frowned and crossed her arms over her chest, not really hungry. "Yeah." Mel wasn't feeling how Zacky was coming off so cocky, if anything it just rooted the idea that he was just out to get something from her deeper in her mind. "Well, I think I'm finished. Thanks for the pizza." Mel stood up.
