Bringing Daylight to the Night.

The next morning, Leighla had woken up before Zacky and decided that she would begin to unpack her things, now that she was staying in Cali for good.
But she wanted to make breakfast first, so she got out of bed and put on one of Zacky's shirt. Leighla smiled to herself, she began to realized how much she missed being with Zacky, even to the little things such as wearing his shirts. Leighla left their bedroom and headed to the kitchen without waking up Zacky.

Brian reached out to caress Haylee's soft cheeks. "I am so sorry that I put you through that. I will never have you go through that again. I don't ever want you to feel alone or ever be alone ever." His heart broke when she said that, and it was all because of him and he hated that. "I promise time around things will be better for us."

“It’s okay Brian, really,” Haylee smiled as he caressed her cheek. She ate her food and sipped her lemonade, “The food is just as delicious as I remember.” Haylee laughed softly, glad that it seemed like things would be back to normal.

Zacky slept for a bit longer. He rolled over and went to throw his arm around Leighla, his eyes opening quickly when he realized she wasn’t there. He sat up slowly and stretched before getting up and pulling on his boxers. Walking down the stairs, he stopped at the bottom and smiled as he saw Leighla in the kitchen in his t-shirt. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, “Good morning.” Zacky said as he kissed her neck.

Leighla turned around and draped her arms around his neck, giving him a small smile. "Good morning to you too, sleepy head. You ruined my surprise" she said jokingly and kissed his lips. "I was gonna be all romantic and surprise you with breakfast in bed." She said and kissed him again before turning back around to finish cooking breakfast.

Brian took a bite of his food and groaned softly in pleasure. "Man being in prison makes me realize how much I miss the most simplest stuff like this food. But I'm glad it taste the same."

Haylee laughed softly, it faded slowly, “It must have been horrible, being in prison..” She felt bad, she had never imagined that her Brian would end up in such a position. “I’m sorry I didn’t stay in Cali,” she told him.

“Mm, I could get used to these home cooked meals,” Zacky said, smiling as he held her. He let go of her before walking over and sitting at the table, “I’m really happy we’re working this out, Leighla.”

Leighla smiled and nodded, "I am too. I miss us being us and I want that back." She said and fixed two plates full of breakfast food that she cooked, before putting the plate in front of Zacky. She kissed his cheek before sitting down across from him. "I miss how sweet and thoughtful you are especially with little things. I missed the wild and crazy sex we had, but I mainly missed you being my man."

Brian looked into her eyes, "It's okay, I understand why you did what you did. I don't blame you for doing something that you thought would keep you safe." He said and called the waitress over to pay the bill. "But you are here with me now, and I'm just grateful for that and that I have a second chance to be with you, my love."

Once Brian paid the bill, Haylee stood up and walked out with him. She smiled over at him, “I’m grateful that we’re getting another chance.” She got in the car and watched as Brian got in.

“Well, I missed being your man,” Zacky said as he ate some of the food. He nodded slightly, “I want that all back too.” He looked over at her, smiling, “I missed waking up to you every morning.”

Leighla smiled and continued to eat her breakfast. She was happy now that she and Zacky talked things out. The two never really fought when they were together, but when they did have their disagreements, they always talked it out until things were resolved. Leighla looked at Zacky and held one of his hands. "I'm sorry for running away." She apologized, "You were right, I was miserable being back in Buffalo. My parents still didn't talk to me, even when I told them that I left you. I hated working at the salon over there and I missed living in a beautiful home in a safe neighborhood. I hated it all." She said softly,, looking away.

Brian placed a light kiss onto her lips, "Me too, my love " he said before getting into the driver's seat. Closing the door, he looked at Haylee and smiled before leaning over to kiss her again. "I don't want this night to end." He murmured against her lips. "Wanna go get ice cream by the boardwalk, like we used to?"

“Ice cream sounds great,” Haylee said, smiling as she watched Brian start driving. She stared at him for a moment, thinking about how she could have been okay without him by her side. She was okay admitting that Buffalo had been a mistake now that she felt that she belonged in Cali with Brian.

Zacky shook his head slightly at her apology, “I understand why you did it, I’m sorry for reacting so badly...” He ran his thumb across her hand, “I’m sorry for putting you in such a bad spot.” Seeing her look away, Zacky gently grabbed her face and made her look at him, kissing her lips softly, “We’re together and were okay, that’s all that matters now, right?”

Leighla nodded and smiled, "Yes. What matters is just us." She said and leaned into his hand that holding her face. "I wouldn't want to be with any other man than with you, Zacky. And I knew that a long time ago." Leigha said with a sweet smile.

Brian smiled and grabbed one of her hands with his free hand while driving. "We're back babe, and we're gonna be better than ever." He said and briefly looked at Haylee with a smile, "We're in this together and no one else matters." Brian brought her hands to his lips.

Haylee grinned, glad that they were going to be okay. She smiled, glancing out the window, watching everything that went by. Haylee was finally starting to feel like herself again.

Zacky smiles, running his thumb across her cheek, “I’d never want any other woman, you’re the only one for me.” He let go of her face and went back to eating his breakfast, “So, is there anything you’d want to today?”

Leighla smiled, her heart soaring hearing his words. "Well..." Leighla smiled cheekily, "Can we go find a puppy to adopt? We were in talks of getting one." She said, moving to his lap and draped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheeks trying to get him to cave.

Brian looked over to her with a smile, "What are you thinking about, my love?" He soon then pulled up to the ice cream parlour. He turned off the truck and got out, closing the door before going over to Haylee's side and opened the door for her. He helped her out of the truck since it sits up high. He closed the door and wrapped his arms around her waist, before heading inside the parlour.

Haylee shook her head slightly, “Nothing, just that it feels nice to finally feel like myself again.” She smiled as Brian came over and opened her door, relaxing into his arms as they walked inside. Once they got to the counter, Haylee looked at the ice cream, “Can I get a double scoop of the chocolate peanut butter cup in a waffle cone?” Haylee took the ice cream from the girl behind the counter and waited for Brian.

Hearing Leighla bring up a puppy, Zacky eyed her for a moment. Remembering how their conversation went last time when he had fought her on it, “No, you were in talks of it, I was firmly against a dog.” As Leighla climbed on his lap, he knew there was no way he’d be able to tell her no, “Fine, we can go get a puppy. I guess a dog wouldn’t be too bad.”

Leighla smiled knowing that she got her way and kissed him before getting up from his lap. "You're gonna fall in love with our fur child so much, that you're gonna want another one and I'll agree to have another one." She teased as Leighla made her way to their bedroom to shower and get ready for the day.

"I'll take two scoops of cookie dough in a waffle cone." Brian requested. He took out a twenty-dollar bill and handed it to the cashier, telling her to keep the change. Brian was happy that he and Haylee had worked things out and that things were pretty back to normal.

Haylee walked over to a table and sat down, eating her ice cream. She smiled when Brian came over, “You know, I’d say we did pretty good when we were together before. We hardly ever fought, I’d say the whole prison thing is our only real one.”

“I don’t think so! One is going to be enough!” Zacky yelled up the stairs after her. He wanted a lot of things in life, but there was no way he was going to have a house full of dogs. One would be more than enough, he was sure of that. He got their dishes and put them in the sink before going up to get dressed.

Leighla laughed at his last statement. She knew that she could convince Zacky into getting another dog easily since Leighla had him wrapped around her finger. Leighla took a quick shower and had changed and did her makeup. She walked out of the bathroom to see Zacky was standing in front of the dresser shirtless, exposing the muscles and tattoos on his arms and back.

Brian nodded, "I agree and I will never let something like that ever happen again. I don't want to lose what we have. I loved that we never really argued, you have a lot of patience dealing with my ass sometimes." He chucked at the end of his statement.

Haylee smiled, “I don’t think we’ll ever really lose what we have, we might get side tracked, but I don’t think we’ll lose it.” She ate some more of her ice cream, “You have just as much patience dealing with me when I’m in my moods.”

Zacky pulled on a black t-shirt and looked over at Leighla, “God you are beautiful.” He grinned as he wrapped his arms around her waist, “You sure you don’t want to just spend the day here?” He teased, kissing her neck softly.

Leighla giggled and pushed him off of her softly, "Tempting, but im looking forward to getting this puppy." She said and turned around to kiss him softly on the lips. "Maybe when we come back with two pups, we can continue this." Leighla teased, tugging lightly on his bottom lip before pulling away and running across the hall trying to get to the car.

"I love you babe, and I love you and all your moods." Brian said and kissed Haylee's cheek. "I'm just glad that you are patient with me when I have my shit days." He said before eating some more of his ice cream.

“Have to take the good with the bad, right?” Haylee said, smiling over at him. “It’s all part of being in a relationship and I love you too much to just give up on you because you have a bad day,” she said softly.

“One, one puppy, not two,” Zacky said, following her out to the car. “We don’t need to dogs, just one,” he knew she was trying to get him to cave and there was no way he’d get two puppies at the same time.

"Why not babe?" Leighla laughed as Zacky caught her, now she's pinned against the car. "Babe, no" she moaned as she felt grinding his him into her and pressing his lips to her neck. "It's not gonna work, babe." Leighla moaned again, trying to not to let Zacky get to her.

Brian nodded "You're absolutely right and I love you too much to let anything get inbetween us again." He said and kissed Kaylee's, before moving his lips towards her ear. "I love you so much, that I wanna do some naughty things to you." He said and nipped her earlobe.

Haylee blushed a deep red when Brian nipped at her ear, “Brian, we’re in public.” She said softly, brushing her hair behind her ear. She was getting used to him being so forward again after the three years they were apart.

Zacky held her for a moment, “You don’t think so?” He whispered, nipping at her neck. He let go of her, “Get in the car and we’ll get your puppy.” He opened the car door for her.
