“Okay,” Cora smiled at him once more before turning and walking back to her bed. She sat down on the edge again and looked over at Daphne, “I suppose you were right, he said yes.” She laughed softly, honestly surprised that he had agreed to go with her.

George got himself settled in before he decided to pay Jean a visit. He made his way to her common room and smiled softly at the sight of her by the fire. “Well, how did it go with the first years?” He asked, making his presence known so he wouldn’t scare her.

"It went well, a couple of them were scared so I showed them how to cast the floating star's charm," she said to him then patted the space next to her, "I used it a lot when I got her, I .. still sleep with a nightlight," she admitted sheepishly then looked at him. "Did you get unpacked alright?" she asked him.

"Hah, told you," she said to her grinning a little as she looked at her, "You can never trick me,"

Cora was still slightly shocked that Draco had agreed to go with her, “I honestly never thought he would say yes.” She laughed softly as she watched as more girls started coming in.

George nodded as he sat down next to her, “I did, I figured I would come and check on you since I was done.” He had always made it his job to check up on Jean, ever since they had met.

Daphne smiled a little as she looked at Cora, "He's liked you since the third year," she told her, "I knew but waited figuring you'd set it out yourselves,"

She nodded a little,"Yeahn I'm quite settled," she said to him happily, "Decided to get some reading in before I fall asleep," she said to him gently.

Cora shook her head slightly, “Well thank you for the heads up.” She laughed, running a hand through her hair. She couldn’t wait to make the trip to Hogsmeade with Draco.

“Good, I’m glad to hear it,” There weren’t many people that got to see this side of George, the serious side. “Reading anything good?” He asked as he looked her over.

Jean shrugged, "The advanced potions book count?" she asked sheepishly as she showed him the cover of the textbook in her lap. "I like potions though," she said gently as she looked at him her eyes softening. Her heart pounding in his chest, the light of the fire and how it glowed off him made her cheeks burn. He was quite handsome, but she'd never say it out loud; he couldn't possibly return the sentiments.

Draco was a little unsure what spurred her sudden confidence to ask him out, though he suspected it had something to do with her friend; Daphne Greengrass. He'd have to thank her somehow, possibly inviting her family to a Malfoy family event of some sort. Purebloods had a weird kind of sentiment about that thing, though with how things were cropping up at his home he figured it'd be more of a gift to keep their families out of the chaos.

Cora was starting to wonder what had caused Draco to have interest in her. She smiled softly as she took her hair out of the bun and let it fall around her shoulders. It felt nice to relax after a long day of being back at Hogwarts.

George laughed when she mentioned potions, “I guess.” He smiled over at her, watching how the flicker of the fire lit her face. He cleared his throat and looked at her, “Jean, I know that you are probably busy, but I was wondering if you’d like to do something, just the two of us, maybe go to Hogsmeade?”

Jean lifted her eyes and looked at him,"Uhm, sure yeah that sounds like fun," she said to him mildly shocked. Normally he went everywhere with Fred, but this would be nice. A chance for them to hang out uninterrupted.

George couldn’t help smiling, he knew it must have been a shock for her to hear him say just the two of them. It was strange seeing him without his brother, he knew that, but he needed a little alone time with Jean and this seemed to be the perfect chance. “I can’t wait, let me know when you have a bit of free time, okay?” He asked her.

Jean nodded a little as she smiled, "Yeah, I'll be free this weekend," she said to him nodding a bit, "we've got a bit till the hard classes start up," she felt her heart beating quickly in her chest, "We can plan something for then?"

George nodded, smiling, “Wonderful, how about Saturday?” He wanted them to enjoy their time together and he was really considering making his move on Jean. It wasn’t all that often that he had her to himself and he wanted to make the most of it.

"Saturday sounds good,"She spoke gently as she looked at him and smiled a little then leaned over to kiss his cheek gently, "It's a date then," when she liked someone she tried to be forward but when that someone became one of her best friends she didn't know how to go about it. Maybe it was the crackling fireplace or the quiet that surrounded them but this moment felt incredibly romantic - far too much so to pass up.

George smiled, happy that she was agreeing to go with him on Saturday. When she kissed his cheek, George hesitated for a minute before looking at her and gently pressing his lips to hers. After a moment, he pulled away, “I-I’m sorry...”

She smiled a little then shook her head before leaning forward to capture his lips again wanting to enjoy the moment. "Don't be sorry," she said once she pulled away. "Goodnight, George." she said to him softly, "It's almost after curfew and I don't want you to get into trouble," she whispered.

George smiled, “I will see you in the morning.” He said softly, smiling at her once more before walking out and going back to his room. He hadn’t expected Jean to be interested in him, but then again it wasn’t a certain thing. She had only told him don’t be sorry. George was going to take it as a win, she had said yes to going to Hogsmeade with him after all.

The next morning came way too quickly for her liking, she slept on and off but couldn't wipe the grin off her face as she got ready for the day. Minimal makeup and using a weak curling charm to add the large waves to her hair so she could keep up appearances. She put her robes on over her uniform then put her prefect badge on before heading out to help with the first years so they could get breakfast.

Cora woke up the next morning, a smile on her face as she got dressed. She brushed out her hair and applied her make up before pulling her robe over her uniform. Cora walked out into the common room, knowing she had a little bit of time.

George slept great, he was relieved to know that Jean had some feelings towards him. He got dressed and met Fred in the common room, “Its a lovely day, isn’t it?” Fred raised an eyebrow, “What are you up to?” George shook his head, “Nothing.”

Once all the 1st years were tended to she sighed a little then took her seat at the table yawning sleepily, she was still a bit tired - she wished she could have slept a bit longer.

Draco made his way out of the boy's dorms and into the common room running a hand through his messy blonde hair. He'd slept better than he had in a while, due to his situation at home he didn't feel quite as unsafe.

Cora made her way out of the common room and into the hall, noticing an empty spot next to Draco. She quickly took the spot, smiling over at him, “Good morning, Draco.”

George left the common room, he noticed how tired Jean looked when he saw her. Taking the seat next to her, he glanced over at her, “You look exhausted....”

"Yeah, I had to get up early to help the 1st years. It's just for the first few days then they'll have it all sorted," she said smiling a little as she looked at him, "did you sleep alright?" she asked him curiously.

Draco looked at her then nodded. "Good morning, did you want to go down to breakfast together?" he asked as he looked at her curiously a small lilt curving his lips.
