Writing Soundtrack

I had my MP3 playing through all my songs in alphabetical order when I wrote the first chapter of Holding His Hand Like a Brand New Kite.

My story Blue and Yellow's soundtrack would probably be Just A Little by The Used... Only because one line in the chorus, and the overall feel of it, really inspired me when writing. I still put it on repeat sometimes when I'm working on new chapters.

I listen to Urbandub for Endless, A Silent Whisper... since I got some ideas for my story from their songs.

For Insanity I listen to whichever song the chapter is titled after, so for the first chapter, I listened to Sick Hearts. After that I just have iTunes on shuffle on my playlist of The Used songs.

For 1888 I have a playlist of songs that remind me of Jack the Ripper and/or horror movies, murder, etc. This playlist's really varied compared to some of my other ones. I have songs from bands as widely varied as Marilyn Manson to Evanescence and Tarja Turunen. I have covers of Morrisey's song Jack The Ripper, as I don't have the original.

For my other stories, such as Click Click, I just put my iTunes on shuffle.

For Part o4 of To the Bones I listened to 'Numbers' by Pompeii.

For Part o5, I listened to 'That I Would Be Good' by Alanis Morissette.

I love to write to anything by Ben Gibbard.
His songs are so beautiful and simple and get me into exactly the right frame of mind.

I wrote chaper two of Angelfuck mostly listening to Wolftron, who is this amazing asian guy named Kenny Choi who makes the most beautiful music I have ever heard in my life. I also threw in a little Lupe Fiasco and Mad World on repeat.

"that" boy was written while The Killer Anna was on repeat.
I see you had Pretty Rave Girl on repeat.

I made a playlist of quiet songs, specifically for when I'm writing...
...It has mellow tunes on it, like Interlude and Desert Song, Tool, A Perfect Circle and the Lord of the Rings theme tune.

I cannot work with heavy music, but, at the same time, I can't work in silence either :)

I listen to alot of Green Day when writing Rainbow Lips and candy Floss Hair.

I also listen to alot of Blink 182 and Cute is What We Aim For whilst writing Stop Signs.

I was listening to Back in Your Head by Tegan and Sara for some of Figurine.

For Cherry Hardwood Floors it was Perfect by Alanis Morrisette, and Numbers by Pompeii.
I threw in Ana's song too.
And then The Used. :tehe:

For A Life I Left Behind; For You it's Perfect - Smashing Pumpkins because it's like, the song that brought my characters together.

Infinity on a Rooftop was written to "Before It's Too Late" by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Too Young Eyes was written to "I'm Still Here" by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Wolf was written the the White Stripes album Elephant.
It played through more or less exactly one and a half times.

Right now, everything I'm writing is backed by Nox Arcana, Beethoven or Jack off Jill

You Just Call Out My Name was written to Rooftops by lostprophets.

I'm listening to most of Sonic Youth's songs which are sung by Kim Gordon for Super Queen....
