Glitter and Gold

Ariana took in a deep breath, wishing she had thought up a good excuse before she walked in here. "Stan.. I'm flattered you want to take me to Italy, and it's just an amazing opportunity and I would love to take and I just.." she took a second, realizing she was just falling over her own words.

"I just don't know if I can do it... I'll have to get someone to cover my shift, and you know like water my plants and stuff.." she said looking down at her lap.

Stanley smiled gently, "Well I hope that you can figure everything out, I really do need someone to come help me with it," he said softly. He looked at her, "I'm happy to cover however much you'd make from your shift," he said lightly.

He stood up heading around to her, "It'll just be for one day, two at most," he said softly.

Ari bit her lip hard. She wondered should she just come clean... Buy she was afraid that could mess up what she had going here.. which was perfect. "I uh... Let me see what I can do tonight and let you know tomorrow?" She offered, nervously playing with a strand of her hair.

She glanced at him as he walked over closer to her,nodding slowly "yeah I'll see what I can do" she agreed again.

Stanley nodded and smiled, "Okay sure, that sounds good," he said gently. He placed a hand on her leg, "you look amazing in that outfit by the way," he said softly.

He looked at her, "thank you for helping out, I should let you get home," he said.

Ariana smiled at him kindly "thank you Stanley, I wanted to look the part so I just picked up a few little pieces" she told him with a little laugh before standing up off the chair. "yes I'm sorry, I would love to stay but I need to try and get this weekend sorted okay? I'll see you tomorrow Stan.. MrPenbrooke" she said with a little laugh.

Stanley chuckled, "it is fine, I look forward to seeing what else you picked up," he said softly. He moved back to his desk, "yes, see you tomorrow, Ariana," he said gently. He sat down, he was glad she seemed so happy.

Ariana glanced around for a minute, placing a soft kiss on his cheek before she waved goodbye and went to head home. The thought of trying to figure out this weekend was beginning to stress her out a little. Was she comfortable leaving Sophia alone for so long?

Stanley blushed softly as she pecked his cheek. He waved goodbye, to her, before beginning to pack up his things. He really hoped she'd be able to sort things out for the weekend.

Ari picked Sophia up from daycare, smiling at her in the car mirror as she babbled away. Ariana knew she would talking in no time. A wave of guilt washed over her as she drove home, thinking of who she could ask to watch over her baby. As much as she felt it wasn't right, she tried to remind herself of all of the things she could have her daughter with the money that Stan was paying her. Besides that...she found Stan genuinely sweet, it could be nice to be shown around Italy by him.

After preparing dinner and getting Soph in for a bath, Ari picked up her phone beginning to type a text message.

I have everything sorted out, book my ticket x she sent.

Stanley had made it home, he had picked up some supplies for his dinner on the way. He was standing in his kitchen cooking himself dinner, with a glass of whiskey on the counter.
He was trying to relax, and keep his mind off work. He smiled when her read her text message, quickly sending one back, "Glad to hear it, You'll love Italy, xo"

Ariana smiled, beginning to tidy up her apartment some bit, frowning as she realised all of her thinks we're in boxes.

"What kind of things do I need to pack? My apartment has been packed up so I'll have to start planning tonight!" She replied. The young girl had to admit she was excited to see Europe, it had always been her dream.

Stanley kept working away on his dinner. He smiled at her text, "A couple changes of clothes, some toiletries, and something to sleep in," he sent back. "Don't worry too much, if you find you need anything while we are there, I'm happy to cover it," he replied back.

Ariana smiled gently as she read the message "great, I'll get started now. Looking forward to it" she replied, and tossed her phone down on the sofa before she went to start rifling trough the boxes.

Before she knew it it was almost 1am and she headed to bed, pulling her daughter in close to her as she drifted off to sleep.

Stanley grinned seeing her response. He finished cooking his dinner, then sat down to eat. Afterwards he got up to tidy the kitchen, and pour himself another drink.

He found himself curled up on the couch slipping into a dream about her, an hour later.

Ariana found herself very tired to following morning, but got Sophia ready for daycare before getting [/url=https://pin.it/3nsjeigznrrp4f]Dressed[/url] herself. She dropped her daughter off and decided to go through the Starbucks drive thru on her way. She ordered herself an iced coffee, ordering an assortment of other coffees hoping each lawyer she was working with would find something they liked.

She smiled at them all kindly as she entered the office, greeting them all with the coffees

Stanley made his way to the office early, wanting to catch one of his managers overseas, before he left. He smiled at Ariana as she walked into the office.

The group of lawyers smiled as Ariana showed up, "Morning Ms Miller, good to see we didn't scare you off yesterday," one of them said. He moved over to her, "These for us?" he asked referring to the coffee's, offering to take them off her hands.

Ariana gave Stan a kind bod before turning her attention to the man who some to her. "Yes yes, there's a couple of different types so you can all help yourselves. There should be enough for you too Mr.Penbrooke" she offered, before taking a seat back at the same desk she was at the day before and reopening the files to glance through them.

"Oh and umm, MrPenbrooke? I left my Passport with Karen at the front desk so you can get my details" she told him with a grin.

Stanley smiled and nodded, "why thank you Ms Miller," he said lightly. He waited until all the other lawyers had grabbed a coffee, and picked the last one, "I will get her to send the details up before lunch so you can pick it up on the way out this afternoon," he said softly. He moved to the door of the conference room, "alright, I suppose I should leave you all to it, thank you so much once again," he said.

Ariana was already stuck in to the files from beore, her glasses already pushed high u on her nose as her read. "Mmhmm yeah I'll do that, bye" she said monotonously as he left, not meaning to sound rude but all of her attention was focused.

Once mid morning rolled around Ariana sat up in her chair blinking hard, realising her head was beginning to hurt from reading so much and being cramped up in this stuffy room.

Stanley left them to their work, and headed to his office, to book their travel for the weekend. He was glad she'd agreed to join him, and made sure to actually book return flights, so he wouldn't be tempted to extend their trip.

He hoped that maybe after this one trip, she might be interested in joining him on some others. He was also hoping it'd show her she can trust him.
