Crash into Me

Lennox smiled as she sat down and pulled out her notebook. She had went to parties before without Cameron, but she could tell he didn't like the idea of her going alone. She didn't want to constantly have to depend on him though. After all they were still just friends with benefits.

Ryker frowned as she shut the door in his face. He shook his head, figuring he would just give her a little space until the morning. He went to bed then woke up the next morning. Ryker stared at the ceiling then got up and got ready for school. He walked downstairs and got his breakfast, waiting for Nova to come down so he could talk to her again.

Cameron smiled at Lennox as the bell rang and Nova fell into her seat looking pissed. He shook his head. That girl has so many problems going on he was surprised when she wasn't upset with something. He looked over at Ryker wondering what was going on as the teacher started class.

Nova came down stairs in the morning and grabbed some breakfast. She didn't reach out with Ryker as she came down taking a drink of her caffeine to help her wake up. She ran a hand through her hair as she sat at the breakfast bar eating her food. He dad walked in looking tired. She looked up at him rolled her eyes then looked away. She stuffed her mouth ignoring her father and hurrying out the door after nodding to the door at Ryker. She leaned against his car waiting for him to come out. Once they got to school she walked into the classroom and sat down hardly having spoke at all on the ride over.

Lennox looked at Ryker as he sat down. She noticed that Nova seemed pissed off as well. Surely, he didn't fuck it up that quickly. She scribbled on the paper in front of her trying not to focus on what was going on because she didn't really care about the class.

Ryker sighed as he sat next to his friend. When the bell rang and Nova rushed out he looked at Cameron. "She is literally pissed because I wouldn't have sleep with her last night when she was upset." He said. He rubbed the back of his neck, "Dude I don't know what to do. Her parents had this huge fight last night and i just was trying to make stuff better. I didn't want to take advantage of her like that." He explained.

Cameron smiled at his friend as he spilled the beans. “Maybe she is pissed because she had something else in mind. Did you tell her you want your first time together to be special?” He asked. “Maybe she just needed some comfort and she felt like you where pulling away.” He said and shrugged. “Sometimes girls do this thing when they are upset where they come on to strong. Usually they don’t want to sleep with you they just want to be held and peppered with affection.” Cameron said as they walked towards their lockers. Cameron looked over at Lennox and shrugged. “At some point you are going to have to let her decide how she wants to deal with her own life and stop trying to do it for her ya know. If she wanted to stay up all night talking, or fucking or staring silently into your eyes you just have to be there for her man, that is what a boyfriend does.”

Nova went to her locker and sighed looking into it. She didn’t want to be here. She didn’t want to do work but she also didn’t want to be home. Nova went to the nurses office and complained of a headache. The nurse had her lay down and she sighed laying in the dimmed room staring up at the ceiling. She hated fighting with Ryker. They didn’t scream like her parents they where silent but sometimes she wished he would scream just so she knew what was going on in that stupid head of his.

Lennox walked with them and listened to both of them talk. "Hey we aren't always like that. Thank you very much." She said as she looked at Cameron. She held his hand, frowning when she noticed one of the girls watching him. She got to her locker and put her stuff away before she hugged him tightly.

Ryker nodded, "Yea maybe you are right. I will talk to her about it. It just sucks that her parents are like that. It is constant." He said. He texted Nova, Hey, we really need to talk about this.

Cameron nodded. "Yeah it does dude but it just means you have to be there for her more." he said and waved bye to him as he took off. Cameron chuckled. "Yes I know. Not all girls every time are like that Lex." he said and smiled surprised when she hugged him. He stopped what he was doing wrapped his arms around her and held onto her until she let go. He looked down at her and cupped her cheek. "Everything alright?" he asked softly his thumb rubbing gently over her skin.

Nova felt her phone go off and looked at it sighing. She just needed 10 minutes to think. Later Ryker please. She sent the text and rolled over on the little bed closing her eyes again. She hadn't slept as well as she would have liked.

Lennox looked at him, "Yea everything fine. I just wanted to hug you. I have to get to class though." She let go of him then left him to go to her next class.

Rachel walked up to Cameron once Lennox was no where in sight. "So Cameron you want to hang out later?" She asked him, smiling.

Ryker frowned at her response, Okay then... Maybe she really didn't want to talk to him. He thought about it and decided to skip the rest of the day. He made his way to the car and took off. He never skipped but he just wanted to get away.

Cameron smiled. "Well if you wanted to come over to my place after school we could do that but my parents are home this week so I will have to play it cool." he shrugged. "They leave again Saturday morning." he said really looking forward to them leaving. He would normally hang out with Lennox but she was going to be getting ready or that party later that night so why not hang with Rachel? After he had worked out a time with her he went to class. When it came lunch he was so fucking thankful. He hated being here all he damn time and actually paying attention. When Nova came over to the normal table they all sat at he shrugged. "He wasn't in class earlier either. I figured he got picked up for an appointment or something." he said.

When lunch came around Nova walked over to Lennox and Cameron. "Have you seen Ryker?" she asked frowning. He hadn't been at his locker earlier. She was wondering what was going on. She frowned as Cameron said he hadn't seen him. Nova frowned and texted her mom that she wasn't feeling well and wanted to come home. It wasn't long before her mom picked her up looking over at her. "What's going on sweetie?" she asked and Nova shook her head. "I didn't sleep well." she said and Melody frowned nodding. She was going to talk to Tucker about taking his daughter out for a little quality time. She was always pulling so far away from them.

Lennox looked over as Nova came over and asked about where Ryker was. She shook her head, "I haven't seen him." It wasn't normal for Ryker to skip school and she was kind of worried that something was wrong.

Ryker drove down the road at a high rate of speed, gripping the steering wheel as he took a turn really fast. Maybe that was what was so thrilling about racing to his parents and Tucker. He felt like he was finally free and he could outrun his problems. He noticed a stop sign up ahead and decide he was just going to fly through it. The next thing he knew someone ran into the side of his car, causing his car to spin and flip, darkness overtaking him when he hit his head.

Cameron enjoyed his day with Lennox stealing as many spare moments as he could with her. When the day ended he kissed her goodbye and told her to be safe tonight again. He knew there was nothing he could do now but trust that she would be alright and have fun. He waved her off and smiled at Rachel as she came over asking for a ride to his place. He nodded. "Sure." he said and got in with her. He drove to his place and got out walking in. "Mom I'm home!" he called.

Melody decided that instead of taking her daughter home they would go get some milkshakes. They ended up laughing and playing hooky together for a little while. When they got home Melody frowned at the mood in the kitchen. "What's going on Spence?" she asked and he ran a hand through his hair. "We just go a call. Ryker was in an accident, he's in the hospital." he said and all the color drained from Nova's face. "We're going to see him now." he said and Nova looked at her mom. "Can I go?" she asked. Melody looked at Spence and he nodded. Melody hugged Spence and kissed her daughter figuring the hospital room would be filled enough without her there too. Nova followed Spence to his car and got in with him. They would meet Ryker's mom there. She had been out when Spence had called to tell her. Melody sat there in silence and Spence smiled at her. "He's going to be okay." he said. He had been told it was fairly minor injuries but he was still worried about his son.

Lennox got ready at her house and answered a few texts on her phone. She was going through snapchat, frowning when she saw Rachel's and that she was with Cameron. So that was the reason he couldn't come hang out with her. She had never felt more pissed off in her life. She screamed and threw her phone. How could he act like everything was the same between them all day? She finished getting ready then headed to the party.

Ryker stared down at the cast around his arm as he listened to the doctor explaining stuff to his mom. She was so pissed and he could tell because she was being really quiet. His mom was never like that. He knew she wanted to yell at him so he was dreading when the doctor walked out. He watched as he left then heard his mom sigh.

Allison looked at Ryker after she shut the door, "I don't even know where to start with this Ry. What the hell were you doing out of school for one and then you were driving your car like an idiot." She snapped at him. "I knew giving you that car would be a mistake. You don't need to be driving that fast." She said.

Ryker was more pissed than usual, "Yea like you didn't need to be." He talked back to her. He normally didn't do that but it had been an irritating day and now his car was totaled. He exhaled through his nose and looked at the wall in front of them. He hadn't realized his dad was there to hear him talk to his mom like that.

Allison frowned, "You aren't getting another car." She said. "I don't care if you have to walk everywhere until you are fifty. That was it." She said.

Cameron came back into his room handing Rachel her drink she had asked for and handed her the controller. "You sure you don't mind just hanging?" he asked. He wasn't use to girls wanting to play video games with him. He didn't play a lot but he also didn't feel like telling Rachel all his personal enjoyments. She was a gossip he knew that.

Spence stopped at the door hearing his son. "On top of that you can consider yourself grounded. Punishments to be explained later." he said as he walked in and kissed his wife. He looked her over and hugged her gently. He could tell she was scared to death. This was their only child after all. Spence sighed and turned to his son. "You will apologize to your mother young man." he said and then put a hand on his shoulder his face softening as relief washed over him. He hugged him gently and ran a hand through his hair. "You had us worried and we will discus this more once you are home. Don't think you are getting out of telling us what the hell is going on through that thick head of yours." he said. He waited and looked at Nova as she stood at the edge of the room. The way his son looked at her he turned to Allison. "Come on let's step outside and your can fill me in." He said softly taking his wife out of the room.

Nova watched as Spence and Allison left the room surprised they had. She turned to Ryker her eyes tearing up as she looked away again waiting for him to speak as she stood there trembling. She was pretty sure their families knew now that she was in love with him. She hoped they thought it was the friendly way but she didn't think so. Nova wasn't ready for them all to know yet when she was still figuring things out herself.

Rachel nodded, "Of course I am. It's not like I had anything else planned for tonight." She said as she took the controller from him. She smiled as she began to play with him. She knew that it would piss Lennox off that she was there.

Ryker sighed as his dad said he was grounded, but he was also relieved to feel the man hug him. He hugged his dad back, "Okay." He said. He looked at his mom, "I'm sorry." He apologized. He noticed that Nova was in the corner and he was glad when his dad got his mom out of the room. "Come here." He said to her. He could tell that she was really upset. He waited for her to come over to him, then pulled her into a hug with his good arm. "It's okay." He said as he kissed the side of her head.

Cameron smiled. He thought it was pretty cool she was going to hang out with him. Cameron sat down next to her and started the game. It wasn't anything violent, he wasn't really into those anyways. He liked the story based ones mostly. Things with actual skills to them. "It's been a while Rachel, what's new?" he asked her.

Nova hugged him tears streaming down her face as she clung to him breathing him in. She hiccuped and pushed him roughly hitting his chest. "You bastard!" She pushed at the tears. "What the hell Ryker!" She started to cry harder and then pulled him closer to her as she leaned into him crying into his chest. She shook her head letting herself just let it all go until she could breath again. A while later she looked up at him. "Don't you fucking do that to me again." she said and pressed her lips to his then pulled away. "What happened? Where you pissed at me for needing space?" she asked wondering if this too was her fault.

Rachel looked at him, "Nothing really. I have just been focusing on school and looking at colleges. What about you?" She asked him.

Lennox frowned as she threw back some shots at the party. She wanted so badly to just tell off Cameron, but she wanted to try to avoid him for the night. She couldn't believe he lied to her.

Ryker frowned and didn't move as she hit him. He held her as she tried then kissed her back when she kissed him. He shook his head, "No, it wasn't about that. I was just stressed at school is all." He explained. He ran his fingers through her hair then wiped her tears away. He didn't want her to think that it was her fault. She couldn't handle that.

Cameron smiled. "Which colleges?" he asked curiously. His parents where always riding him about colleges. "What are you going to get your degree in?" he asked. She asked about him and he smiled thinking of Lennox honestly but he shrugged. "Nothing really interesting." he said remembering going rock climbing with Lennox. She was amazing. He really needed to take her out again. Maybe they could go for a weekend trip before fall turned to snow.

Nova leaned her head into his hand as he ran his hand into her hair. She sighed and shook her head. "Stop stressing out then. You're amazing it will be fine." she said and looked him over. "Are you okay?" she asked him her eyes still filled with worry. Nova didn't think she could take anything else going wrong. She just needed one good day where everything went right for once.

Rachel looked at him, "I have looked at a few in California and in New York." She said shrugging. She wasn't use to the small talk with Cameron. Usually they didn't talk hardly at all.

Ryker smiled, "I'm fine. It is just minor injuries and my arm could be worse." He said. "I need to let Cameron know what is going on. Can you get my phone out of my jacket please?" He asked her. He took his phone called his friend.

Cameron nodded slowly. He was kind of glad when the phone rang and he hoped up grabbing it really hoping it was Lennox saying she changed her mind and she was coming over. "Hello?" he answered. "Ryker... what's going on?" he asked and sat on his bed. He frowned and jumped up as Ryker told him he was in an accident. "Dude are you alright?" he asked. "What happened?"

Nova shook her head. She sighed as he asked for his phone and she kissed his cheek. "Fine." she said and grabbed his jacket. She handed him his phone and sat in the chair in the room watching his parents through the window. She sighed feeling more tired than she had earlier. She listened to Ryker call his best friend.

Ryker sighed, "Yea man, I'm alright. I just broke my arm and have a few cuts. My car is fucked though." He said, shaking his head some. "I just figured I would call and let you know what was going on. My parents are pissed and I probably won't be leaving my house for a very long time." He said, laughing a little. He looked at Nova, seeing that she looked really tired. He wished he could just lay down and snuggle with her.

Cameron sighed. "Damn dude. What happened today where the hell where you going? You like never leave school." he said and ran his hand through his hair looking over at Rachel. He would need to tell Lennox. She would hate him if he didn't.

Nova laid her head back and closed her eyes. She knew she was suppose to be on the look out but she just needed to rest her eyes. She wanted to go home now and just hang out with Ryker. She wanted more but she knew after his parents chewed his ear off for an hour or so he would have to be on good behavior from here.
