On the Hunt||Closed RP||

Dean sighed. When she got in the shower, he got up and left the hotel room. He slipped into the impala only telling Sam he was going out for a bit before he turned the car on and leaving the motel parking lot. Sam didnt have a right to tell something that sensitive and close to him to her. They barely knew her, he didn't want her knowing everything about him, especially something like what happened with Lisa and Ben. They were everything to him and he had to let them go because he didn't want them to get hurt. That was the hardest decision he ever had to make.

He drove and drove till he appeared at a hole in the wall restaurant about twenty to thirty miles away from the motel. He walked into the restaurant a few minutes later and sat down at a table near the back. He was going to stay there for a few hours, eat and drink before he came back. Maybe he would go out and do some of his own research after he was finished at the restaurant.

Coming out of the shower, Danika immediately noticed thatDean was gone. She felt bad. She looked over at Sam and frowned. “I’m sorry for asking a personal question. I just have been hearing those rumors and after meeting you guys I’m curious. I promise if I ask something and it’s too personal, you don’t have to answer,” she apologized.

She climbed up into bed. She was going to apologize to Dean when she saw him. She just hoped that he would understand and that he would at the very least forgive her.

‘I should’ve had said anything without him telling me it was okay. That’s a personal subject for Dean and he’s still hurting about it. I’m the one that needs to apologize, not you.’

A few hours had passed and Dean hadn’t returned yet. Instead he was in the library using the computer to do a little research on the demon problem plaguing this town. The only thing they knew was that it was a small not overly large group of demons who were killing people in a random way. As far as they knew, the victims had no connection. They were all different ages, not the same gender, or have th same hair color, or go to the same places.

He looked to see if anybody had in the past ten years or so got any achievements in this town such as becoming the top neurosurgeon in their hospital at such a young age when just recently before they were a nurse or such things of that nature. A few things stuck out that seemed odd, so he wrote down names before leaving and going to the first place on his list. He still wanted to be alone so he was going to check out his list by himself.

Danika wondered where Dean had went off to. She was a little worried about him being gone by himself. She didn’t even know why she was worried about him. She got up and grabbed her laptop. She wasn’t going to get any sleep worrying like she was, so she was going to be useful. She looked through the town’s records and tried to find a connection between the deaths.

Her thoughts kept going back to Dean. She felt bad about what had happened to Dean. She could only imagine how he was dealing with that. Her family had been killed by a wild pack of werewolves, and she had barely gotten out alive.

Dean hadn’t gotten back to the motel till that night. He unlocked the door and walked in facing a gun from Sammy, ‘woah man it’s just me, relax.’

‘Where the hell have you been? You’ve been gone since last night.’

‘I went out then I did some investigating on my own. I don’t always need you to back me up. I was hunting for awhile by myself before I asked for your help that one time dad went missing so cool your jets Sammy. Anyway I brought you and Danika food,’ he gave the bag to Sammy, ‘I’m going to get a coke from the vending machine, yeah I know you like Pepsi,’ he looked at Danika who said Pepsi. He walked out of the motel, aware that Danika followed him.

‘You should eat your food before it gets cold and before you apologize for asking Sam about me, don’t. I’m well aware of my reputation and what people think of me but I don’t care. I don’t. So don’t apologize and tell Sammy to stop trying to have a caring chick flick moment with me.’

He put three dollars in the machine, getting one coke and two pepsi’s. He handed one to her before walking back towards the room. When he walked in, he gave Sammy his before sitting at the table to eat, ‘so I did some digging and found a few people who gained overnight success, becoming well known painters, doctors etc...I went to a few of their houses, interviewed them, their friends, family and co workers, it’s a mystery to them as well. Some of them were happy about that persons sucess, others not so much but some of these people were offered ten year deals and killed before the ten years were up by the demons who offered them the deal.’

“So a crossroads demon that isn’t staying true to the contract,” Danika said, listening to what Dean was saying. She was picking at the food. She wasn’t hungry and unsure what to do with herself. She could still see that look he gave her when she had tried to apologize to him. She had felt bad for blurting out the question and she felt bad that she had even wanted to about the rumors.

She looked down at her food. She felt nervous. “I thought that they had to honor those deals they make,” she stated. “If that’s true, then I would imagine that he is messing with the natural order of things.”

‘Yeah so we need to find this demon and send him or her right back to hell. Sam find out where every cross roads in this town is. The demon is doing this randomly all over the town so it’s not just in one area. We might need a bit more help to cover the entire town, do you think Ellen, Bobby and Joe might be willing to help us?’ Dean looked at Sam.

‘I don’t know about Ellen and Joe but Bobby definitely will. I’ll call them and Dean I’m sorry about earlier. I shouldn’t have.’

‘Sam no chick flick moments.’

‘Dean I’m trying to apologize, I know it was personal and a sore spot.’

‘Sam stop. It’s fine. Leave it alone,’ Dean went back to eating his burger and Sam stepped outside for some fresh air and to call Ellen, Joe, Bobby and some other hunters. This was a bigger job than they thought. They couldn’t be everywhere in the town at once so they needed help from others.

Danika didn’t talk, not knowing where she stood. She had a feeling that Dean didn’t much like her right now. She shook that thought out of her head, telling herself to focus on the hunt. Now wasn’t the time to be worry about feelings. She was going to help out the best she could.

She squared her shoulders and looked at Sam. He seemed like he wasn’t as touchy about certain subjects. It may be because she hadn’t asked a personal question about him. She wanted to slap herself for doing that. She didn’t know what had come over her.

Dean looked over at Danika before back down at his sand which, his blue eyes hardened. Lisa and Ben were none of her business, she had no right to ask and Sam had no right to tell her. He hasn’t asked about any of her personal business so she should respect him enough to do the same. He realized he wasn’t hungry anymore, he took the rest of his food, dumping it in the trash before going over to the floor and getting comfortable. He needed some sleep.

‘Dean, they will help. I also called a few others who are willing to help us as well. Joe says she can’t wait to see you again.’

Dean nodded, blushing a bit when Sam mentioned Joe. He was glad neither Sam nor Danika could see his face right now.

‘That good. I can’t wait to see her either.’

Danika wondered who Jo was but figured she would meet her soon enough. She felt bad and nervous. She wanted to try and apologize to him again because she really didn’t mean to be a complete jerk and inconsiderate when it came to his feelings.

“So when do we get going?” she asked wanting to be of use and just just sitting around and doing nothing.

‘When the other hunters get here,’ Sam told her before sitting down to finish his burger. Dean said nothing as he curled up on the floor and tried to get some shut eye while they waited. Danika looked like she wanted to apologize again and Dean just didn’t want to tell her again to not. He thought she was hot, thought she’s a great girl and an exceptional hunter from what he’s seen of her. What she asked wasn’t really personal, the personal part was what Sam told her.

He wasn’t angry at her really. A lot of people asked that about Dean and he knew why. But pushing her away and trying to be angry with her and trying to make himself feel like it was as much her fault as Sam’s was easier for him. He is a hunter and relationships for him don’t work out. He had two really great women in his life and it didn’t work out. He doesn’t want to really start feeling something for Danika or to fall in love with her and have his heart broken again. He wasn’t sure how much more his heart could break.

Danika watched as Dean went to sleep. She didn’t know why she was being like this. She really didn’t. She knew that he probably didn’t want to get in relationship with her or anyone for that matter. It was like that with most hunters. Having connections could get you hurt or worse killed. They could be used against you. It was just hard to think that she had ruined the chance of a friendship at the very least.

She got up and decided that being cooped up in the motel room wasn’t doing her any good. “I’m going for a walk. I’ll have my phone on me,” she said, standing up. She didn’t wait for Sam to stop her. She got up and left the room.

Sam watched her go without a word. He knew Dean was upset with him for sharing something so personal with a person they barely knew and was trying to be upset with her. He wasn't but he was trying to be. He knew when his brother was truly mad at someone and when he wasn't. He was trying to be purposefully because of two relationships that meant the world to him. He sighed as he continued to do some research on the demons that were breaking deals with humans who made them in hopes of a better life.

Danika hadn't wondered far. She barely even walked anywhere. She found a quiet place nearby and just relaxed. She knew that she needed to better her manners, but she didn't know what to think of Dean. She hated that he was blocking her out, and not even giving her a chance to apologize which frustrated her even more and made her feel even worse about being rude.

Later the next day, there was a knock on the door, ‘open up Sam, Dean,’ Jo called through the door. Dean answered the door and immediately pulled Jo into a hug, ‘wow you guys really stepped on it.’

‘Well I couldn’t leave my best guy hanging, now could I?’

Dean smiled at the blonde in his arms. Ellen, Bobby and a few other hunters shuffled inside while they two were talking.

Danika sighed, and made her way back to the apartment. She saw the new people heading into the motel room. She followed in behind them. She was nervous. She knew that Dean was probably still mad at her, and she didn't know what to think about these new people.

Dean set Jo down when he saw Danika, ‘everybody this is Danika. She’s helping us on this hunt.’

‘Oh she’s the one who...’

‘Jo don’t get involved,’ Ellen warned her daughter. Jo nodded and went quiet after that, staying near Dean’s side. Dean looked away from Danika towards Sam, ‘alright Sammy, whos going where?’

Danika looked over at the girl who had almost asked about her. She was curious about what she was going to ask but knew better than push it right now. She had to focus on what they were about to do. She didn't want to screw this up and make everyone just hate her.

'Alright well I'll go with Dean,' Jo told everybody and drug the older man out before anybody could protest. Dean looked back at Danika for a moment before turning and letting Jo drag him over to her car and get inside.

Sam looked at that display before looking at Ellen, 'so I'm guessing Jo still likes Dean then?'

The woman nodded, 'has since they parted ways years ago.'

'Well as long as they don't distract each other, they can work together but they can't become a distraction. They need to be focused...' Sam started rambling, worried for his brother.
