Distance makes the heart grow fonder

Peter grinned and looked up from his desk. "Sounds good, give me a minute, and I'll be set," he said lightly. He stood up heading to his dresser to get changed into his board shorts. It had been awhile since Peter had been down to the lake.

Once changed he headed out of his room to find her, "all set," he said. His eyes washing over her briefly

Charlie grinned "Great, I'm so excited! It'sbeen years since i had a proper day at the lake. I put some snacks into my bag, but lets stop at the store anyway" she told him. "Do you want me to drive?" she suggested, picking upu his car keys from the table by the door as they moved dwnstairs. she was looking forward to catching up properl, she fely like she had missed so much while she wasgone

Peter smiled softly and nodded, "yeah let's stop anyway," he said. He was excited to be able to talk to her without their parents overhearing. He moved out towards the car.

Charlotte threw her bag into the backseat and hopped in to the driver's side starting up the engine. God I've missed the lake, we used to have the best time there when we were little" she said with a little laugh, squinting slightly into the sun as she pulled out of the parking space. "so, what have you been filling your time with since you dropped out of school?" She asked

Peter looked at her and smiled, sitting quietly in the passenger seat. He looked over, "oh you know, this and that, spend a lot of time on the computer," he said lightly. He thought for a moment, "trying to teach myself how to day trade, not that our parents have asked what I'm doing everyday," he said.

"What's Day trading?" Charlie asked, not quite looking towards him as she kept her eyes on the road. "God it's been so long since I drove, I missed it" she commented with a little laugh as she pulled in to the gas station.

Peter smiled weakly, "trading stocks and things, to make money," he said softly. He chuckled, "you didn't drive while you were away?" he asked.
