Ray walked over to the vampire and picked him up by his throat, “I suppose I could kill you too put you out of misery “

Riley struggled in Ray’s hold, trying to get out of his hold. He kicked him really hard, making him drop him. He shot into the the room he shared with his dead lover, in tears. He knows it’s a death sentence to leave the coven but he doesn’t want to stay there with Ray.

Ray groaned as he fell over in pain, oh he was killing him for sure now. He stood and went after him, “when I get my hands on you, you’re going to wish for a quick death.”

Riley backed away from the door. Ray was going to kill him whether he stayed or left so he went over to his window, opening it and leaving. He ran as fast as he could, running for miles, fear, anger and sadness coursing through his veins.

Ray went to chase him, might as well get the thrill of hunting an underling. He smirked he could smell him from miles away. After a few minutes of running he found him, “you can be with your lover now” he growled pulling him close.

Riley struggled against Ray’s body, ‘please. Please Ray,’ he didn’t want to die. He was upset and scared. He didn’t expect this was how his life would go.

Ray glared at the man, almost feeling bad, he did kill his lover, “tell me why I should keep you alive? Are you going to be as reckless as your boyfriend?”

‘Husband and no. I didn’t know he was going to do that and I wasn’t fast enough to stop him. I did go after him but you got him first. I was hoping you wouldn’t. If I would’ve gotten to him first, maybe you wouldn’t have killed him.’

Ray dropped the man he was starting to feel some guilt, he too had lost someone. He swallowed hard , no he couldn’t become weak like everyone else, he never felt this kind of guilt. He’s killed many people in the past, even his own kind.

Riley scrambled up to stand, ‘so what happens now?’ He didn’t know whether Ray was going to drag him back to the coven to be punished, just drag him back there or let him go. Honestly he’d prefer the third but he knew that would never happen.

Ray pinched the bridge of his Nose as he thought about it, “well, I really can’t have you come back to the coven everyone expects me to kill you. If I let you go you’ll have to make sure not to be so reckless, you know we don’t really travel anywhere but we might..”

‘You’re letting me go?’ He looked and sounded shocked as he looked at Ray. He wanted to turn and run so bad but he didn’t want to push his luck. If he ran right that second without letting Ray finish, the older could change his mind and kill him.

Ray sighed, “I don’t like hurting my own kind, I do it to let everyone know whose in charge or if they’re a danger to us. We’ve lived for thousands of years without being noticed by humans, I’d like to keep it that way. Follow me, you’ll find your husband in better.. spirits” he spoke softly.

Riley looked confused, ‘what do you mean better spirits?’

Ray let out a small smirk slip, “come back and I’ll show you myself, feels like if I tell you, you won’t believe me.”

Riley followed behind Ray, still a bit confused. He didn’t say another word on the way back to the house. The only sounds that could be heard was the forest around them, the animals, the crunch of the ground beneath their feet, the wind. Not much else. Once they reached the house, Ray unlocked the door, letting him walk in first. He looked at Ray before he went inside. His eyes went wide when he saw his husband looking confused as to how he’s alive.

He shot inside the house right over to him and knocked him down from his excitement. He was crying as he curled around him.
