Unlocking the door to her new apartment, Cora couldn’t help smiling. She was starting over with her own place and a new job and to be totally honest, it felt great. Cora locked the door behind her and sat her purse and phone down on the table. She decided to make herself a quick dinner and watch a movie before heading to bed. As much as she didn’t want to, Cora was thinking about going to get the rest of her things from the house in the morning, but she didn’t know if she was really ready for that.

Zacky was becoming more miserable by the day. After not hearing anything from Raquel, he was starting to worry that she might not come back. He had tried everything in the last few days, from going to where she worked and even driving by her parents house after she wasn’t answering her phone. After coming home from work, Zacky slammed the door behind him. Everything just seemed to feel like a burden since Raquel left and he was getting desperate to find her.

Now that Raquel has had some time to settle into her new apartment, she had decided that she was going to go back to her old place and get the rest of her stuff. She had hope that this will give Zacky the hint that she doesn't want him any more and to stop looking for her. Raquel knew that he has stopped by her old job location and he even had the nerve to go to her parent's house to look for her. She had almost went to the police station to file a restraining order against him, but decided against it. Pulling into the driveway of her old place, Raquel parked the car and mustered all the courage she needed to get out and go into the house. Thankfully, Raquel had her two older brothers to help her take her heavier items, but also, to help take care of Zacky if he tried to do anything slick.

Brian has been a mess since Cora had left. He's been distracted that his work with the gang and the business has been sloppy, that Matt had sent him home and kept him away from handling the merchandise until he had come back to his senses. He had even stop sleeping with various women, because his mind has been so wrapped on Cora. Brian had tried finding her, but no avail. He found out that she no longer worked at the clinic and that she had changed her phone number. Brian thought about driving to her parent's house, but he knew that they hated him and would never tell him where she is. So now, Brian is just sitting in his office, finishing his 5th glass of bourbon, trying to get Cora out of his mind which is proving to be difficult since he knew it was his fault that he was in this situation.

Cora had slept pretty well through the night and now she was up, ready to make the trip to her old home to collect the rest of her things. A sigh escaped her lips as she parked outside the large home, she really didn’t want to deal with Brian. However, at the same time, she wanted to rub it in his face that she was holding her own. Getting out of her car, Cora walked up to the front door and took a breath before knocking. She was terrified, wanting to run and forget whatever was left in the house. Her attention was quickly brought back to the door when she heard movement on the other side.

Zacky tossed the empty bottle of whiskey on the table in his office. He knew eventually he would have to make his way back downstairs for more alcohol. Everything that Raquel had left in the house was making Zacky feel worse. The hope he had that she was coming back was really dwindling down and Zacky was giving up. Glancing out the window, Zacky’s eyes widened as he watched Raquel get out of her car and come closer to the house. The little bit of hope that was starting to come back was quickly ruined when he realized her brother’s were tagging along. He ran a hand through his hair, Zacky turned and left his office, going downstairs and meeting Raquel at the door.

Raquel knew that Zacky saw her approach the front door, so she waited for him to open the door. When he did, Raquel pushed her way through inside with her brothers and a couple of their friends. "You can start here in the living room and kitchen, so we can get the heavier stuff out of the way first." She told them as she pointed to the items that belonged to her. "I'm going to be upstairs packing some of the lighter stuff. Just holler if you need me." Raquel made her way upstairs, knowing the that Zacky was following behind her, but she ignored him. She walked into her old bedroom that they used to share and started to grab the rest of her things that she left behind. However, she felt Zacky grab her arm and held her waist, making her face him. Raquel shoved him off of her. "I don't have anything to say to you, Zacky." She told him.

Brian didn't bother to look to see who was at the door. So, when he had opened it and saw Cora standing there, he was very surprise. He hid his surprise, by clearing his throat and try to put up a front. "I knew you wouldn't last long without me. Are you ready to stop playing these games and bring you ass back home?" He asked, with his arms crossed against his chest as he leaned against the door frame, blocking her way in. He knew that he was being an ass, but he didn't want her to think that he had gotten soft or see that he's lost without her.

Cora rolled her eyes, “Actually, I’m just here to get the rest of my stuff. I’ve got my own place and a new job, so I just needy things.” She smiled, pushing past him and going straight to the bedroom to pack up her things. It felt good, showing up and telling Brian that she didn’t need him or depend on him. Cora heard Brian follow her, she was preparing herself for whatever was coming next.

Zacky quickly followed Raquel to the bedroom, he had been happy to see her come back. Now that she was grabbing the rest of her things, Zacky quickly realized that she wasn’t going to come back. “Come on Raquel, you have to come back.” He wanted her back more than anything, but he wasn’t going to make it obvious.

"No I do not. Besides, you should have thought about that before you decided to cheat on me." Raquel said as she pushed past him to go back to packing her stuff. "You know, I stayed with your ass even when you told me about your involvement in this gang, knowing that if you got caught, I could have possibly gone down with you. I stayed with you through thick and thin, where other women wouldn't have, and yet you cheated on me over and over. So I must not be that important to you." She said as she shoved her belongings in her bag, feeling anger starting to build up.

Brian was hurt when she said that, but he didn't let it show. "But how long is that going to last, huh?" He said as he blocked her way. "You know you need me, baby. And that's okay, I can take care of you." Brian brushed his fingers through her hair. "All you have to do is just drop this tough girl act and come back home."

Cora shook her head and moved away from his touch, “I really don’t need you. I’m perfectly capable of providing for myself.” She started gathering her things, “Its not an act and to be totally honest, this place stopped feeling like home months ago.”

“You know damn well I made sure that if anything ever happened, you wouldn’t be involved,” Zacky told her. It hurt knowing that Raquel was so angry with him. He grabbed her wrist and turned her to look at him, “I made a mistake, okay? I let stupid shit go to my head and forgot that the most important person in my life was here waiting for me. Just about everything I did was to give you a better life, so don’t say you weren’t important to me. This was meant to be our life.”

Raquel rolled her eyes, "I've said what I said. Every choice you make, you have to face the consequences. This is all on you, this is all your fault. I have been nothing to you but loving and loyal to you and you mess that up." She yanked her wrist out of his grip and pushed him out of the way. "We are through." She told him once again and then left to go downstairs to her brothers. "I'm having a hard time getting my personal belongings. I need you to either get it for me or keep Zacky away from me."

Brian face went from amused to pissed off. "What the fuck do you mean our home doesn't feel like home?" He growled as he grabbed her wrist, stopping her from packing and pulled her to face him. "You are so ungrateful. After I all I have done for you to keep you safe, to provide for you, to give you all the things you needed but also wanted. Say it again to my face, like you mean it." Brian demanded as he pinned her against the wall.

“This house does not feel like home and it hasn’t felt that way for a while,” Cora said again, not breaking eye contact with Brian while she said it. “I’m not ungrateful, but I’m not going to stay here and have you lie to me and cheat on me,” she put her hands on his chest and pushed him back. Feeling the tears starting in her eyes, Cora looked at him again, “This time away from you, made me realize that I don’t matter to you and it gave me time to accept it and move on.”

Zacky watched as she stormed out of the room. He went over the dresser and grabbed one of the now empty picture frame and threw it against the wall, “Fuck!” Going back over to the bed, he sat down and held his head in his hands. Zacky stood up and grabbed the rest of Raquel’s things and carried them down the stairs, “Here.” After dropping her things on the couch, he turned and went back upstairs. Zacky wanted Raquel back, but he wasn’t going to cause a scene with her brothers there, it wasn’t worth the drama.

Raquel quickly packed her belongings and had her brothers take it out to their truck. Seeing that everything that belonged to her was not in the house, making it look empty, Raquel took her copy of the house keys off the key ring and left them on the table before leaving the house completely. Getting into her car, she took one last look at the house before turning on the engine and backed out of the driveway.

Brian snarled as he wanted her to take back everything she just said back. He sighed and stepped away. "You know forget it. If you want to leave, then fucking leave." He said as he walked towards the door. "Good luck trying to find a man who is going to rest you better. But also good luck once you get yourself in a situation and you realize that you need me." Brian walked out of the room and went back to his office.

Cora quickly grabbed the rest of her things and hauled them out to her car. As she went back inside to grab the last box, Cora looked around before picking the box up and walking out. Closing the door behind her as she walked back to her car and got in, not looking back as she drove off.

Zacky stopped by one of the windows and watched as Raquel left with her brothers. He turned and went to his office and closed the door, sitting behind his desk. After spending so much time worrying about Raquel and waiting for her to come back, Zacky wanted to throw himself back into work.

A few hours later, Raquel's apartment finally felt like home to her. Her brother and their friends helped her put her things into the apartment after leaving Zacky's house. "Thank you so much for helping me. Let me at least give you some beer and make you dinner." She said as she handed them each a cold beer.

Brian sighed as he heard car start up before leaving the driveway. Although he knew that this was his fault with the way things ended, Brian kept telling himself that Cora would realize that she needed him and that she'll come back to him. But until then he was going to keep himself busy with his work.

Cora unpacked all of her things and smiled as she sat down on her couch. She grabbed her laptop and turned it on, hoping to finish up some of her left over work from the other day. Being home and finally having all of her belongings Cora finally felt relaxed.

Zacky did some work in the office before deciding to shut his computer off. He left the office and made his way downstairs, grabbing his keys before he walked out and got in his car. At this point, he couldn’t handle being in the house by himself so he was headed to the club.

A few months had passed by and things were going great for Joelle. She was moving up in ranks at her job, her new place was set up just the way she liked it. She was living the independent woman life that she has wanted. Right now she was starting her three day weekend, and Joelle wanted to go out for some drinks, dance, and feel sexy. So she was now in her room getting dressed to go out to the club with her friends that she made at her job. They were going to hit up the club that she knew Zacky and his friends owned. Joelle didnt want to go at first, but then she decided it would be fun and that she wasn't going to let him ruin her fun if she bumps into him.

The past couple of months had been just filled with nonstop work for Brian. He had been keeping himself busy ever since Cora walked out on him. He hadn't been sleeping with the various of women that work at the night club he and the guys own. He didn't admit it to his friends, but Brian knew that he had royally fuck up his relationship with Cora and that it was solely his fault for treating her the way he did.

Cora had just finished her make-up when she heard the car pull up outside. She had agreed to going and spending the night out with a few friends she made at work. Grabbing her keys and her purse, she fixed the top of her dress before walking out the door. Cora got in the car and smiled, “So, where are we starting the night?” Her friend, Nicole, started driving, “There’s a really popular club uptown, we figured we’d start there and see where the night goes.” As they pulled up and parked the car, Cora smiled as she followed Nicole and her other friends inside.

Zacky had done nothing but bury himself in his work for the past couple months. Every now and then he’d make an appearance at the club, but it didn’t happen that often. Tonight was one of those nights, Matt wanted all of them at the club so they could discuss some business and of course he’d end up trying to force Zacky to try and enjoy himself. It had been all that either Matt or Johnny tried to do to himself and Brian. Truth be told, Zacky just wanted to be left alone. He sighed as he walked in the back door and met up with the guys, “Let’s get this over with.”

Joelle walked into the club with her friends, and the atmosphere was lively. The music that was playing in the background was upbeat and had a nice groove to it, that Joelle stayed her hips lightly to the beat. She went straight to the dancefloor with her friends and danced to the current pop song that was mixed with EDM effects. While dancing, a gorgeous man approached Joelle from behind, pressing his chest to her backside as they danced. She grinded with him as the man placed his hands on her hips.

Brian as he wanted to get this over with. He much rather be in his office working on paperwork and counting the profit money that they were making. He knew that Matt and Johnny could check to make sure the club was running smoothly and that the customers were satisfied, but he knew he had to show his face every once in a while. Brian decided he would make this quick run and then go back to his office to finish his tasks.

Cora made her way over to the bar, she ordered a drink and turned to watch everyone dancing. Smiling, she sipped her drink, enjoying herself for the first time in months. Cora was surprised when a man approached her, “Hi, I was wondering if I could buy you another drink?” Cora was surprised, but smiled, “Sure.” Cora finished her drink and turned to the bartender, “Another one, and put it on his tab, please?” She took the next drink, it felt nice to be getting a little attention.

Zacky sat down at the table and listened to Matt and Johnny. He couldn’t wait until he could be back at home. Most of what they had said was going in one ear out the other. He looked up when one of the bartenders knocked on the door, “I’m sorry to interrupt, but Joelle just came into the club.” Zacky looked at him, “You’re sure?” Seeing the bartender nod, Zacky got up, “We’re done here?” Before waiting for them to answer, he walked out of the back room and stopped by the bar, watching Joelle dance with some guy.

Joelle was having fun dancing with guy, who she found out that his name is Nico. He was a good dancer and definitely made her feel sexy. It also helped that he was very good looking too. And if he were to ask her to go home with him, she just might accept his offer. "Let me buy you a drink, sweetheart." She heard Nico offer as his lips brushed against her ears. Joelle let him take her hand and lead her to the bar, where she immediately saw Zacky standing there looking at her. However, Joelle didn't care because she just ignored him and focused on Nico. "I'll take a Tequila soda." She said to the bartender before Nico ordered his drink and paid for the both of their drinks.

Brian was just about to finish making his round at the club, greeting his VIP guests and other high paying customers that he knew. Just as he was about to head back into his office, he heard a familiar giggle as he passed the bar. It almost sounded like Cora's. He figured he was going crazy, but decided to get a glimpse at the bar. Sure enough it was Cora who was giggling, but she was with another man and that made Brian's blood boiled. He grabbed the bar tender's attention without Cora seeing him. "Give this VIP lounge pass to the girl with the Auburn hair. Tell her that one of the club owner is intrigued by her beauty and that he wants to get to know her." Brian instructed the bartender before heading towards the VIP lounge.

Cora was enjoying the company of the man named Owen. She sipped her drink as they talked and laughed. She was surprised when the bartender brought her a pass to the VIP lounge and told her she had been invited by one of the owners. Cora looked at Owen, “Excuse me for a moment.” She took the pass and made her way to the lounge. Part of her had been excited, it was a great feeling being noticed by different men. A smile crossed her lips as she was let into the lounge and she glanced around.

Zacky knew Joelle had seen him, he leaned against the wall and watched as she interacted with the other man. He crossed his arms, not at all amused by seeing her with someone else. There were so many thoughts going through his head on how he could get Joelle away from him. It drove him crazy to see Joelle being so close with someone else. Zacky wanted nothing more than to go over and make him leave, but he couldn’t do that. Instead, he spoke to one of the bartenders discreetly, “Cut him off after his next drink, if he questions it, call security and kick him out.” Seeing the bartender nod, Zacky smirked slightly.
