What Are You Gonna Do?

Nova laughed as she got comfortable in his bed, "Yeah, well I bet i am the first girl you haven't slept with that you let sleep here too." She teased. She rolled over and closed her eyes, falling asleep.

She woke up the next morning, stretching out. She noticed she had the whole bet to herself, smiling a little. She spread out on his bed, grinning. His bed was so comfortable. Nova sat up, running her fingers through her hair. She walked into his bathroom, fixing her hair. She walked downstairs, smelling the breakfast. Nova looked at Orlando, "Good morning." She said.

Orlando heard Nova shifting around upstairs and instinctively smiled. He turned the volume down as she began downstairs. "Good morning sleepyhead." He purred. "Your breakfast is covered in the kitchen, should still be warm." He said and smiled. Orlando waited for Nova to come back. When she had her food and sat beside him, he readjusted so that he could face her. "Sleep well?" He asked, finishing off his toast.

Nova nodded then moved to get her breakfast. She returned and sat beside of him. "I did sleep well, thank you." She said as she took a bite of her toast. "Did you sleep well?" She asked. She wasn't used to someone making her breakfast.

Orlando smiled and nodded. "Of course, yes I did." He laid back into the couch and watched her, just smiling at her as she began to eat. "So, I'll let you finish your breakfast. But I do want to discuss why you made the decision last night." He paused and looked at her, his eyes soft, but worried. "I mean, I know I am a great dude, and I mean, with these abs I am the total package," He teased and snickered. "But I know family means a lot to people, and I know your family clearly has a lot of stake in your future. So why give up a planned and perfect future for someone like me?" HE asked and paused. "I am just bad guy, I could get killed next week and ruin your life because you angered your dad for a few days of fun." Orlando cared about her, he wanted her around, but he wanted to make sure that she understood the consequences of her actions. He wanted her to know what could happen.

Nova glanced over at him when he asked why. She set her food down and sighed. "Look, I am just tired of them thinking they can decide everything for me. They don't actually care about me. They just want things to look good for the public. My dad is never around and my mom is awful." She said. She crossed her arms, "if something happens to you then I will figure things out." She said. "It's not like I plan to depend on you." She told him.

Orlando listened intently to her, he wanted to show her he cared, but more importantly he wanted to make sure that he understood her. "I get that. I'm glad that is your reasoning. I wanted it to be sound reasoning. It is. I am sorry that your family is like that though." He pased and took a sip of his drink sitting on the coffee table. "I know you won't depend on me, but getting attached can be just as bad." He worried about getting hurt or killed a lot, but didn't usually portray that. It was weakness and weakness could be taken advantage of. "I really like you, Nova." He said and smiled, taking her hand in his. "I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, I'm just making sure you know I'm a wildcard to get involved with." He said and chuckled. Orlando leaned back and finished his plate, leaving it on the coffee table. "What's your degree in? Maybe I could give you a job?" he offered. "It would be nice to get some estrogen in the shop. Too many men, too much testosterone, and too many knuckleheads." he joked

Nova smiled when he said that he really liked her. She was glad that he did. It was nice to feel wanted for once. "I guess that is just something that I would have to deal with if it actually happened." She said, shaking her head. She smirked when he asked what she had a degree in. "Computer science." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair. "You don't have to give me a job. I can find something. As long as my dad doesn't decide to be too evil." She said, laughing a little.

Orlando nodded and smiled at Nova. “I know I don’t have to,” he teased “I want to.” Orlando grabbed her hand again. “You don’t have to take it if you don’t want to, but it’s an option for you. Or you could just take it until your find something on your own.” He offered. Orlando grabbed both their empty plates and went into the kitchen, placing them in the dish washer. “I’m not afraid of your dad, I never have been.” He said, shrugging as he finished loading the dishwasher, then starting it. Orlando came back into the living room, sitting besides Nova. “Honestly, id kinda love to see his face when he finds out.” He snickered. “Especially if he finds out that we start dating, because then he knows we’d have sex, and that face would just be priceless. His pure little girl banging the mafia boss.” orlando rolled his eyes and laughed

Nova laughed a little when he said that he was not afraid of her dad. "You say that now. Just wait until he starts to mess with you." She said as she looks over at him. She ran her fingers through her hair, "You really are loving this." She said as she shook her head. She got comfortable on his couch, "Do you have anything you do today?" She asked. Nova reached over and took his hand, "I will think about the job thing. We will see what my dad tries to destroy in my life then we will go from there." She explained as she glanced over at the tv.

Orlando rolled his eyes and shrugged. “I’ve been in this life since I was a toddler, I watched my dad deal with it for years, and I’ve been dealing with it since I took over. What worse can he do? I’m smart, I know how to keep myself out of jail. I know the lines.” He said and chuckled. “Your father has been trying for years to get rid of me, and my men, yet here I am.” He said proudly, holding his arms out. “I don’t have anything specific to do, might go to the shop. Deal with the knuckleheads.” He said and shrugged.

“Please do. You could computerize all my files and data for me, it’s a mess and I don’t have the time for it.” He suggested. “And I can make sure I only pay you with the legally obtained money, dealing with only the legal actions so that there’s no tie to you and my illegal biddings.” He told her, hoping to reassure Nova. “Should you talk to him, or your brother?” He asked “just because like, your brother can tell any story he wants right now about last night.”

Nova thought about what he was offering, "Okay, I will help you with that." She told him. She didn't mind helping him with his stuff. She just wanted to make sure that it was legal and that she wasn't going to get in trouble. "You're right. I should go talk to them. I guess I just don't want them to ruin anything." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair. "I will have to do it though. Brendan is known for making up lies." She explained.

Orlando smiles when she agreed to help him. He was glad to have her around and to help Nova out. “I’ll keep you out of trouble, don’t worry.” He teased, playfully tapping her arm. “Besides with your family, since they wanna cause trouble because of me. That I can’t say I can keep you out of. I think I’m pulling you in deeper.” He said and chuckles, leaning over to kiss her cheek. “I agree. It’s better for you to get your side out there, your story. Let them hear it from you rather than someone else. Maybe they’ll be more accepting that way?” He posed, Orlando still wasn’t sure if he wanted to cause her this much trouble with her family. “You can always change your mind.” He paused and looked over at her again. “But if your brother thinks he can get in my face like that again, I’ll lay him out.”

Nova shrugged, "I really don't think they will be more accepting. They are never accepting about anything." She told him. She frowned when he mentioned changing her mind. "Why would I change my mind? Do you want me to change my mind?" She asked. She had made up her mind about wanting to be with him. "As for Brendan, I hope he leaves you alone, but I make no promises." She said.

Orlando frowned slightly as he looked down at Nova. It saddened him when families didn’t love each other. His brother and he were vastly different, yet they still got along, accepted each other, and loved each other. But he understood what she meant and nodded. Orlando shrugged and sighed when she asked about changing her mind. “I just want you to be happy with your decision and know your consequences. I don’t wanna pressure you or anything.” He said and grabbed her chin, holding her face close to his as he kissed her. “I like the current decision though.” He smiled. Orlando laughed slightly. “Oh don’t worry about me and him.”

Nova let her eyes meet his as he grabbed her chin, before kissing him back. "I just don't want you guys to get into a physical fight." She whispered. She wanted to enjoy her time with Orlando though. "I don't want to constantly worry about this right now though. At least not until I go over to talk to them." She said as she let her hand rest over his.

Orlando nodded, he knew he could take on her brother. That didn’t scare him. He did know that a physical altercation between the two wouldn’t end well for either man. Orlando put his arm around Nova and pulled her closer to his chest. “I like that idea, let’s enjoy our time together.” He murmured and kissed the top of her head. Orlando smiles at Nova and relaxed into the couch. “Do you wanna do something with me today? Or just relax here until you’ve gotta go?” He asked quietly

Nova smiled as he pulled her against him, "We can do something if you want. I am up for anything." She said, shrugging. She looked at him, letting her arms wrap around him. He seemed so nice. She didn't understand why her dad hated him.

Orlando nodded, rubbing his chin with his free hand as he thought. “Sure, let’s finish this episode, shower and get ready, then head out?” He offered. Orlando rubbed his chin again and thought for a moment. “Should I grow my beard out? Do you think they would look good?” He asked. He had some stubble, not a lot because it had only been two days. But enough to give him some five o’clock shadow.

Nova looked over at him, "I think you look good with just a little bit of stubble. I don't know about a full beard though. I would have to see it to decide if I like it or not." She said, laughing. She ran her fingers through her hair, smiling a little as she turned her attention to him.

Orlando nodded in agreement, giving Nova a smile. "Maybe I'll grow it out in the winter, when I need the warmth, y'know?" he offered and chuckled. He turned his attention back to the television as the episode they were watching began to finish up. When it did he stood, offering his hand to Nova. "Let's get ready and head out." He said and smiled, walking upstairs to shower.

After the couple had showered and finished getting ready, Orlando led Nova out to his car. He held the door for her before sliding into the drivers seat. Orlando slid his arm around her shoulders before he began to drive towards the bar.
