The man held Lyla in front of him, pressing the end of the gun into her lower back. “Don’t make this harder for anyone.” He said before opening the door and shoving her inside. He shut the door and made his way around the car into the drivers seat, in the passengers seat was another man who he handed the gun to. The man in the passengers seat turned and looked at Lyla, still holding the gun on her. “Give me your wrists.” He ordered as the first man began to drive away. When Lyla complied the second man put a pair of handcuffs on her.

Orlando arrived home just minutes after Lyla had been taken. He noticed the door open and was instantly paranoid. He made his way into the apartment, gun drawn as he checked every room. He noticed it looked like Lyla was here and just disappeared.

Lyla wasn’t about to do anything to put herself or the baby in more danger. She quickly held out her wrists as he put the handcuffs on her. If only she had done something different during the day, maybe she wouldn’t be in the situation. Lyla knew Orlando would be back at the apartment by now, he would know something was wrong.

Orlando quickly began to panic, knowing something was wrong. He quickly pulled out his phone and was about to call her but then thought that may be a bad idea. He began to pace back and forth before he had an idea. He took his phone out again and opened Snapchat, pulling up Lyla’s location, which he saw was moving. He called a few of his men and ordered them to come over and follow him. He knew he needed backup where they were going.

The two men drove in silence, stopping when they arrived at an abandoned office building. The first man got out and grabbed Lyla, basically dragging her inside. Once they got her inside they undid the cuffs, so they were able to tie Lyla to a chair.

Staying silent was Lyla’s only plan. She didn’t know who these men were, but she was sure it had something to do with Orlando. Lyla felt relieved when they undid the cuffs, it was short lived as they tied her to the chair. She wondered how long they would hold her or what they wanted.

The man who tied her up grabbed another chair and moved it to be across form her so he could sit and look at Lyla. “So you’re Lyla” he purred. “I’m Ricky Archer, your boyfriend killed two of my men recently.” He told her bluntly. “I don’t take kindly to idiots like him hurting my family. So I’m going to return the favor.” He said with a wicked smile. Ricky held out his hand and the second man placed a curved knife in it.

Orlando Gabe the coordinates of where Lyla had been taken to his men, ordering them to come armed and ready for another shoot out. His face was red with fury as he got into his car and began to drive there.

Lyla watched as he moved the other chair across from her. The way he said her name was enough to make Lyla shiver in disgust. Realizing she was only there so he could get even with Orlando, Lyla knew she wasn’t getting out of there. Seeing the knife being placed in his hand, Lyla took a breath and braces herself for what was coming next.

Ricky smirked as he looked at the girl across from him. He gently careessed her face with the blade of his knife, making sure not to draw any blood. He wanted to scare her, intimidate her, he didn't want to get this over with quickly. "You could help yourself by giving me some information." He purred. Ricky reached over again and ever so slightly stuck the tip of his knife into the side of her forearm, he pulled it closer to him, watching as the blood began to ooze out. "What do you know about the gang?"

Orlando's knuckles were white as he drove faster, he and his men pulling up. Orlando grabbed his pistol and huddled around his men, giving orders for going in.

Lyla didn’t move as he had the blade on her face. When he moved it to her arm and drew blood, she winced. Hearing him mention the gang, she shook her head, “I don’t know anything. He doesn’t talk about it.” Truth be told, even if she knew more she wouldn’t tell him. Lyla wasn’t going to cave and give him information that could hurt Orlando. She looked at her arm as the blood came out.

Ricky rolled his eyes, laughing at the girl. "Oh come on, you are dating one of the largest crime boss' in the city and you don't know anything?" He said, moving his knife to her other arm.

Orlando and his men busted into the warehouse, quickly overtaking the men. Orlando tackled Ricky, tossing him across the room. "Fuck you." He snarled. and punched Ricky in the face. Ricky shoved Orlando back and the men began to fight. One of Orlando's men came over to Lyla and began to untie her wrists. "Hi, my name is Gus, are you okay?" he murmured. "Orlando was so worried about you."

Lyla shook her head, “He doesn’t like to talk about it at home and doesn’t want me knowing anything.” She was relieved when Orlando came in with his men. She nodded as Gus untied her wrists, “I’m fine, my arms hurt but other than that I feel fine.” Seeing Orlando fighting with Ricky, she was terrified and just wanted to get out.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the gun they had pointed at her was on the floor, not far from where she was. Lyla grabbed it and stood up, pointing it toward them. It happened so fast, Lyla saw an opening and took her chance, she shot Ricky in the leg. She had never been so thankful that her dad had taken the time to teach her to use a gun.

  • Everyone in the room stopped when the shot rang out echoing off the walls. Orlando looked up, almost shocked. "Babe?" he said, quickly moving over to Lyla and taking the gun from her hands. "We all need to get out quickly." He ordered, Ricky's men had made their way over to thier leader as Orlando's men began to leave and Orlando walked out with Lyla. "You're crazy" he said quietly. "Babe that seriously was dangerous, you coulda killed me." he said almost laughing as he slid into his car. Orlando grabbed the first aid kit in his car and began to bandage up Lyla's arms. "If we had moved like two inches to the left you coulda shot me." He said, again laughing. "I'm so happy youre okay."

  • “I’m not crazy,” Lyla said as they walked out. She had never mentioned her father teaching her about guns before. “I wouldn’t have missed. I know when to take a shot,” Lyla said calmly. She knew that all she had to do was wait for her opportunity for Orlando to be away from Ricky. “My dad knew he had enemies being a lawyer, he taught me how to use a gun when I was thirteen and I’ve been getting better ever since. I never thought I’d actually use it,” Lyla told him.

She winced when he touched her arms, “I never thought that would have happened. I’m just glad it was only my arms...” Lyla said softly.

Orlando raised an eyebrow at her explanation. "You never told me." He said chuckling to himself. "Remind me never to piss you off." He teased, finishing wrapping her arms he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on them. "I'm sorry you got dragged into this." He told her as he began driving back to Lyla.s apartment. "How did your conversation go with your dad?"

“I never thought it was a big deal,” Lyla responded. She watched as he kissed her arms, “It’s okay. It’s not like you meant for it to happen.” Hearing him mention her dad, Lyla sighed, “It went as well as can be expected. I gave him a copy of the ultrasound picture. I don’t know what he’s going to decide.” She watched out the window as he drove.

Orlando nodded as he listened and drove. He pulled up into the driveway, parking his car. He went around the car, leaning down and picking up Lyla as he carried her inside. “I know I didn’t mean for it to happen. But I still feel bad because if you were dating some dorky accountant that wouldn’t have happened.” He told her teasingly. Orlando day Lyla on the couch, relaxing besides her. “I’ll never let that happen to you again.”

“I know you won’t, maybe if I would have mentioned seeing that black car they had things would have gone differently. I noticed it parked outside when I got home and thought I was just being paranoid,” Lyla told him. She knew he was going to blame himself, but in reality Lyla should have brought up the car as soon as she noticed it.

Orlando shook his head and sighed. "No honey this is my fault." He insisted. Orlando pulled Lyla into hsi lap and nuzzled his face into her neck. "I'm just so happy that you and the baby are okay."

Lyla cuddled into him as he pulled her into his lap. “I’m just glad it’s over,” she said quietly. “It’s not your fault,” Lyla told him. She was tired and stressed and she didn’t think she would feel safe alone in her apartment anymore. “The sooner we can get out of the better,” she whispered.

Orlando smiled as they snuggled and got closer. "One more week baby." He murmured, kissing her head. "Then my renovations are done and we can move into my place." he told her. Orlando wrapped his arms around her, carrying Lyla up to the bedroom.
