“One more week,” Lyla repeated. She was ready to move into the house and couldn’t wait to set up the nursery. Once they got to the bedroom, Lyla changed into her pajamas and got on the bed. She was trying not to pay too much attention to her arms.

Orlando was gentle with Lyla as the couple slept. The next morning he carefully got out of bed, not wanting to wake Lyla. He knew she needed rest after the previous day. He wasn’t sure if she would want to be alone today, he bit his lip as he moved downstairs. He decided to wait to ask her when she came down. He pulled out his phone and played games while texting some guys as he waited for her to get up. His head turned to the fridge and he saw the picture of the ultrasound, his heart swelling with emotion. He took the photo off the fridge and held it close. He wanted to put it in his wallet but he knew that was dangerous.

Lyla woke up the next morning, noticing Orlando had been up before her. She walked down the stairs, seeing him in the kitchen, “Morning.” Lyla said softly. She went to the fridge and poured herself a glass of juice. Leaning against the counter, she sipped it, “Got anything going on today?” Lyla asked him as she looked at him.

Orlando looked over at Lyla and smiled. "Morning baby." He said and stood, walking over and kissing her head. "How are you feeling?" He asked before sitting again. "Well actually I wanted to know if you wanted me to stay." He told her. "If you want me to stay home I will, if you're okay being alone I've always got work I can do." He explained.

Lyla smiled as he walked over and kissed her head, “I’m feeling okay. My arms are a little sore, but other than that I’m good.” She finished her juice and put the glass in the sink before going and sitting next to him. “It’s up to you. If you have to go to work, I’ll just lock up the door,” Lyla told him.

Orlando nodded as he listened. “Yea I get that. You should put some antibiotic cream on them and rebandage them.” He told her. Orlando was now going to worry about her constantly. It was just who he was. “I probably should. Shit has been super tense.@ he said and sighed. “I’ll be safe as long as you are.” He purred. Orlando gave Lyla a kiss before he headed out to ‘work’

Lyla knew he would end up going to work. She didn’t really have a reason to keep him home. “I’ll go do that,” feeling Orlando’s lips on hers, she smiled softly. Once he left, Lyla went into the bathroom and cleaned the cuts on her arms. She went back out to the living room and sat on the couch in silence.
