It All Comes Down to This

Not wanting to admit defeat, Angelina rolled her eyes and stormed off after Allie. "I really don't feel great, Als, like gonna pass out or puke not great."

"They're already getting worse," Sam commented as he watched the girls leave the bar, "This is bad, Dean and, despite their obvious dislike of us, they don't deserve any of it."

Dean nodded along to Sam’s words. “I know… I think they’re just scared. Let’s get them home, into a warm bed. We’re gonna figure out a game plan, alright? You go with Allie, I’ll get Angelina into the Impala.” Dean instructed, following the girls. “This way, Angelina.”

Allie nodded. “I know. But at least Dean will look after you,” Allie smiled softly at her best friend. “And then we can —” Allie took a big deep breath, trying to keep her composure so she didn’t have to abandon her car. “We can sleep.”

With a nod, Sam followed his brother's lead and made his way over to the Volkswagen that the girls had arrived in. It would be nowhere near as comfortable as riding in the Impala, but it was only for a while and Sam could put up with it for Allie's sake as weird as that felt.

"Sleep sounds good," Angelina replied, taking Allie's hand and squeezing it before heading over to the Impala.

Dean opened the passenger door of the Impala for Angelina. “Get comfortable.” Dean offered a weak smile. “There’s some water in the back seat if you need it.” Going to the driver side, Dean looked to Sam. “Just follow us.” Ducking into the car, Dean looked over to Angelina, his heart almost fluttering at the sight of her, like some ridiculous schoolboy. “You’re gonna be just fine. I promise.”

Allie sighed, getting into the drivers seat of the Volkswagen, starting up the engine without even waiting for Sam to get in. It would be strange to have someone else in Angelina’s place.

Sam climbed into the passenger seat of the Volkswagen and buckled his seatbelt, offering Allie an encouraging nod. "We've got this," Sam told her.

Sat in the front seat of the Impala, Angelina shifted to get comfortable and stared out the window. She didn't need his empty promises or his kindness, she just wanted it all to be over.

Allie followed the Impala. “Save me your sympathy, Sam.” She murmured, hands gripping around the steering wheel. “Just… don’t, okay?”

Dean drove carefully, knowing that his cargo was precious, and within two hours, they were back at the bunker. “Angelina,” Dean murmured. “We’re here.”

"Okay," Sam mumbled, holding his hands up in defeat and falling silent.

Angelina lifted her head from off of the cool glass and unbuckled her seat belt, swaying slightly as she climbed out. Not wanting Dean to see, she took a deep breath and straightened herself up as she waited for Allie to join her.

Allie parked up messily, her temperature already rising and her cheeks flushed, and as soon as she got out of her car, she rushed to Angelina. “Are you okay?”

Dean looked at the girls. “We have a room with two double beds for you, just follow me. Mind the step, okay? Sam, stay behind them so they don’t trip.”

Angelina nodded, afraid that speaking would be followed by the small amount she had eaten that day and sticking close to Allie. She had never handled being ill well, but having Allie close had always helped and this time was no different.

"Sure thing," Sam agreed, waiting for the girls to pass and stepping into line behind them.

Dean, treading down the stairs carefully, put on the lights as he did, not saying a word out of fear of upsetting the girls in an environment that was so strange to them. Showing them to the bedroom, Dean smiled. “Looks like Jody went and got you both some new clothes and supplies.” Dean sighed then. “Get comfy. We’ll get you water.”

Allie nodded. “…Thanks, guys.” She murmured, before leading Angelina to a bed, the safety of her best friend always her priority.

"You're welcome," Sam replied, hating seeing two girls so vulnerable, "We'll be right back."

Angelina hesitated a moment, before letting Allie guide her to a bed and sitting on the edge. Her stomach was turning and her head pounding, which ruled out lying down for a bit. "Stay with me," she said to Allie, her voice quiet and trembling.

Dean led Sam from the room. “Get me some ice,” Dean told Sam, before grabbing a jug and two mugs for the water. “Poor girls,” Dean murmured, and yet, he couldn’t keep his mind from Angelina, feeling the need to protect her.

Allie nodded, climbing into the other side of Angelina’s bed. “You bet,” Allie fell against the fluffed up pillows, sighing as she closed her eyes. “I don’t feel so good, Ang…”

"They'll be okay, we'll get them through this and maybe, by the end of it, they won't hate us as much as they seem to right now," Sam said as he grabbed some ice.

"Me either," Angelina whispered, taking a deep breath and shifting to lay beside Allie. Her stomach lurched and she closed her eyes momentarily, managing to push away the nausea, "What are we going to do, Als?"

Dean nodded along with Sam’s words. “Here’s hoping. I like their attitude, it’s no wonder they make such great hunters.” Dean grinned. “Angelina’s beautiful too, they’re just our type. It kinda sucks they hate us on first glance.” Dean laughed.

Allie placed the duvet over herself and Angelina, laughing weakly. “We do what we always do, babe. We find a way out of this mess. This time, we just need some extra help, that’s all.”

"Does it have to be pinky and the brain though?" Angelina joked, covering her mouth as she fell into a coughing fit and quickly wiping her hand when she spotted blood on it, "I don't like them, but they are pretty cute..."

Sam chuckled, nodding in agreement and dropping the ice into the jug of water. "I bet Allie looks kickass on a hunt."

Allie laughed with Angelina’s pinky and the brain comment, her stomach hurting and ribs aching. “Unfortunately,” she nodded. “But hey, they might be cool after a while. I take dibs on Sam, alright?” Allie grinned, coughing into a tissue, noticing the spots of blood. “Forty days…”

Dean got two cups and grinned. “Oh, you’ve taken your pick already?” Dean grinned. “Once they’re better, we have to do a hunt with them.” Dean grinned. “I want Angelina on my team.” He winked. “Come on, let’s get them their water.”

"I don't think..." Angelina began, falling silent and taking a deep breath, "I don't think we have that long."

"You always get your choice of girls, this time I'm throwing my gauntlet down and taking what I want," Sam replied with a grin, "Besides, I've seen the way you've been looking at Angelina and you are so hooked."

Allie stayed silent for a moment. “I don’t think we have that long either.” She whispered. “These boys better be worth their salt and help us out of this mess.” Allie turned onto her side. “I’m sorry for dragging you to that witches case.”

Dean grinned, walking down the hallway slowly. “She’s beautiful, feisty… a female me,” Dean grinned. “And Allie’s like you. We hit the jackpot. Now we only have to convince them.” Dean laughed. Stopping outside the girls’ door, he hinted for Sam to shush to hear their conversation.

"I'd go to the ends of the earth for you, Als, you're my best friend... my sister," Angelina replied, not wanting to move and looking over at Allie, "We've always said that it's me and you against the world, no matter what and that will never change. We just have to fight..."

Sam felt a lump form in his throat as he listened to the girls talk and knew that they had been through a lot. Their relationship was exactly like the one he had with Dean, a relationship built on everything they had been through and overcome together.

Allie nodded. “We got this, okay?” Allie reminded her best friend. “They’ll help us. And then we can kick ass again.” Allie promised with a gentle smile, coughing again.

Dean cleared his throat as he walked in. “Hey, we got your water.” Pretending as though he hadn’t heard anything, Dean offered Angelina a smile. “Anything else you need?”
